My husband and I came here for Valentine's Day brunch and overall we enjoyed ourselves. That said, I would say this is one of the places you visit for aesthetics more than food. If you are looking for somewhere to celebrate and get cute photo ops this is it. We started the pastry basket and tried three different croissants, all were really fresh, flaky, and delicious. I order the Goldie lox which included a bagel, smoked salmon, and hash browns. The hash browns had an interesting flavor, more herby than your traditional American hash brown. We are here for thanksgiving's meal. They had a special 3 course menu which we ordered from but also put oysters and some bread in front. Really good food and festive atmosphere. Service was good and friendly , not rushed and despite the holiday they were not in table turn mode. We started with cocktails which were creative. Shown is my night in paris which is gin, kavendee and I think some proceco For my meal we split a 1/2 dozen oysters( those island) , and I then progressed to Devine's eggs( with roe) and a muchroom, chestnut and doinich Bourgogne, I skipped dessert but my whole fe and daughter ordered crème brûlée and some pastry I forget the name of. My family made a reservation and I would recommend to do that since it is a popular place! For an appetizer, we got a baguette with cheese and ham. It was super delicious and it was fun watching the server spread the cheese! I ordered the "Goldie Lux" which is a bagel with smoked salmon, chive cream cheese and potatoes. The food and atmosphere is pretty good. Our waiter was attentive as well but I don't like restaurants that upcharge sort of sneakily. For example, there's a 3% service charge which is on a small sign on the front but not on the menu nor is it said to us. These are like California practices, wouldn't expect it in Texas. Also, the water is bottled and priced at $6 per bottle- I can't recall if free tap water was an option. A waiter refilled the bottles for us without speaking to us so in total we ended up having 4 bottles and were charged $24 for water. I totally thought the bottles were just fancy decor and they were filling it with tap water I did not notice they were sealed bottles. They do validate parking in the garage though but just a heads up if you're coming here a $50 meal would end up being way more. read more

And there were SO many, I felt like I was digging through that dish for twenty minutes straight and still brought home leftovers. It's good, but it's just a regular avocado toast you can get anywhere. The parfait was a miss. The yogurt was too tart. Annabelle Brasserie is a French restaurant located off of Allen Parkway in Autry Park area. We decided to come here for Houston Restaurant week because we live across the street and have heard a lot of good things about this place. Let me start by saying this review is based off of the HRW menu and we will be back to try their regular menu. The HRW menu offered a lot of choices for a very good dinner price of $55. It included an appetizer, entree and dessert. We had a reservation for 6:30 PM on a Friday and by 7/7:30 Pm, the restaurant was completely booked. I do want to note there is a 3% operation fee added to all bills and there is a sign at the front desk that states this very clearly. Parking: they have sled parking in the Autry garage. We didn't park there so I don't know the price. There is also a valet in the garage next to the restaurant. Also did not get the price but I know it's not free. There is free street parking a block away if you are willing to walk. Ambiance: when you walk into Annabelle, you are greeted by high vaulted ceilings and big glass windows which lets a lot of natural light into the restaurant. They have a main dining room, a sunroom which we sat in, and a patio. It was a little warm for patio seating but the patio overlooks Buffalo Bayou. The restaurant did get very noisy when all the tables were occupied for dinner and the chairs were a little uncomfortable and had a hard chair bottom. The decorations inside were beautiful and French themed! Service: the service here was very good. U never had to once ask for water and our sever was very good in answering all of the questions we had about to food and drinks. Drinks: my girlfriend ordered the Night in Paris cocktail which was gin based and I ordered a Carajillo. Both drinks were delicious and paired well with our meals. Food: we ordered from the HRW menu which included an appetizer, entree and dessert. My girlfriend got the Beet Salad, Branzino, and Crème Brûlée. I got the Deviled eggs, Steak Frites with truffle fries and the Profiteroles. Beet Salad: the beet salad had two types of beets with burrata and black truffle. It came with some micro greens that we couldn't identify so those went untouched. The beets were seasoned well and they gave a lot of burrata so this was a hearty appetizer. The truffle didn't add much to the dish but was a nice touch because my girlfriend liked truffle. Deviled eggs: this was my least favorite dish of the night. The filling of the deviled eggs was very grainy and it tasted like the eggs had been sitting premade in the fridge due to the egg white being a little tough. The trout roe also didn't add much to this dish. I would skip this next time if I came back. Branzino: the Branzino was flaky but it was on the oilier side and the veggies that came with it got soaked in the oil as well so my girlfriend didn't eat the whole dish. I tired it and while the fish was soft, the oil on the plate made it tough to eat more than a couple of bites. Steak Frites: the steak frites was very good. I got it medium rare with a side of truffle fries. The truffle fries were a $6 up-charge so keep that in mind when ordering the fries. The steak was cooked perfectly and had had an herb butter on the top of it that made the steak very flavorful. The truffle fries were called that because of the truffle oil added to them. The fries went topped with chunks of Parmesan and this paired well with the truffle flavor. I would come back and order this dish again. Crème brûlée: this dessert was a miss. The custard filling was still warm when it got to the table so it tasted like it just came out of the oven. It was very eggy and warm. This did not pair well with the hard caramelized top layer unfortunately. I would not order this again. Profiteroles: these were amazing. I would definitely come back for these. The pastry paired well with the vanilla ice cream. The party was soft yet firm and the chocolate sauce was a nice touch to the dish. It came with three pastries which was very filling. I would highly recommend this dessert. Overall, Annabelle had an awesome atmosphere and lovely, lively environment. The drinks were a hit for us and while some dishes were misses, we still enjoyed our total dining experience. I would come give Annabelle a try especially for the price of the HRW menu. Dined here again for a birthday duo dinner with my dear friend on a Monday night. It wasn't busy at all, we got a booth overlooking the restaurant and the windows on Allen Parkway. The ambiance and decor are of course 10/10. This is what you booked for. It's an eye catcher, first you eat with your eyes and feast on the venue itself. I was not displeased nor will you be. Our waitstaff was courteous and kind, great training, he handled our banter well although I could tell he was over the day lol. I ordered a glass of Sancerre and he brought a mostly empty bottle to pour my glass. I wonder how old the wine was given it was a Monday night and not much traffic that I could see... I rolled the wine in my mouth and it took a little while to emerge but the taste was still there. I accepted it, which is fine, I have never have had a pour from such an empty bottle before - maybe I'm spoiled or they usually bring me the glass of wine straight if the bottle is nearly finished - either way all was well. The food, I was impressed. I have dined here before close to when they opened and the food seemed to have improved! Escargot- 6/10 just felt like it was missing someone in dimension of flavor. Fell flat, I wouldn't order again. Bread was also a tad too crispy for bigger bites without assaulting your upper palate with scratches. Seared Octopus - 8/10 very yummy, cooked well. The tomatoes salad accompanying it was delicious. Missing just a little something to take it to 10 - fat component is there as was the salt... maybe a little acid? Seared Branzino - 8.75/10 oh goodness this was so divine and filling. If you want healthy options THIS IS IT. My plate was beautiful overflowing with vegetables. Here we got the balance of the salt, fat, acids, seasoning... it was rich! Popping off my tastebud, made me want to roll my eyes back. Can't go wrong with this plate. My friend had the salmon, she said it was delicious and cooked to perfection. But looking at my plate and her plate... I liked mine better! lol. Brussels - 8/10. Sans all the cheese for me. I'm a health food nut and I'm lactose intolerant, so fighting past the cheeses and creams on the vegetables can be a battle. But once I dug to the bottom of the bowl for the cheese-less morsels I was delighted. Well cooked, not too charred or overly soft. Potatoes - 7/10. With a grain of salt take my rating. I literally had a bite because I was scared of the cheese component here - but it was velvety smooth and yummy although not the 10/10 potatoes they were good. We also got birthday cheesecakes with candles to celebrate the occasion. I couldn't eat mine, it's the thought that counts. I had a pleasant evening, would I come back? Absolutely! For my first meal on my Houston trip, Annabelle Brasserie truly set my expectations high and delivered! My best friend and I set a reservation last minute, not necessarily knowing what to expect, but we saw a TikTok showing how cute the decor and ambiance was here.
