One of my favorite spots for brunch! I've been here for both Saturday and Sunday, and each visit has been a great experience. Such a lovely restaurant, with two slightly different vibes depending on the day. Sundays are more lively with a live band, while Saturdays are a bit more relaxed--but still busy. I definitely recommend making a reservation ahead of time. My only small note from my most recent visit was that it felt a little warm inside. I get it, it's Texas and it was a hot day, but I wouldn't have minded the AC being turned up a bit more . Now for the good stuff, food! I've tried a variety of items and have yet to be disappointed. Some standouts: French Toast (5/5): One of the best I've had. Thick slices, no eggy taste, and the crème anglaise with fresh berries are the perfect adds. Lobster Tacos (5/5): More like a lobster salad packed into crispy mini taco shells, the perfect little bites. Shrimp Tempura & Caviar 4/5: Tried this most recently and loved it. The batter had the perfect crunch. I also recommend the Rosé all day punch (not on the menu, but ask your server - it's a frozen berry ball with sparkling champagne and rosé) breakfast potatoes and sausage, salmon entrée, and even the french fries. The service has always been great. On my most recent visit, our server was especially awesome. They were very attentive, polite, and gave great recommendations (especially for mocktails). There are several options for parking including valet, street parking, and a garage. Valet runs around $6-$10, street parking is metered (I paid about $6 for two hours), and the garage was free and really easy the last time I went. The service is consistently good. The staff is friendly, attentive, and professional. That's the only reason this isn't a one-star review. The pricing has become absurd. Four basic drinks - Tito's & club soda - came to $97 before tip. Nothing about the experience justifies paying nearly $25 a drink. It certainly feels like Toulouse used the World Cup as an excuse to jack up prices, and if that's the case, it's a pretty shitty way to treat your regular customers. Houston locals are the people who kept this place busy long before the tourists arrived. I don't mind paying premium prices for a premium experience. I do mind feeling like I'm being gouged. A new friend invited me to early lunch here, which I was excited he selected this place out of the two choices; Credence or Toulouse? (Since I've already had the Credence experience) Toulouse it is! I tried octopus for the first time, thanks to my guy Robert ordering this solely for me to give it a try. Thank you for introducing me to something that I always shy away from. The ends and the top parts have different textures to me. Ends more crispy and roots more soft textured, almost like mozzarella cheese to me. I really enjoyed my bolognese, it's a favorite dish of mines which you can never go wrong with that option. It paired greatly with the Chanel number 6 drink which is pretty much a French 75, but a tad sweeter, I enjoyed it. Service was very nice, the weather was perfect for dining on the perfect patio, we did relocate tables, because the sun was slow cooking Rob and I, and just like chocolate, I'll melt. Lol. Our waiter was kindly to make this effortless switch. The only flaw in this visit they did not have the three gelato flavors per usual (chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla). So I settled for only one flavor they had. Price remained the same. I would have loved to sample their strawberry. This gelato is so rich & creamy I would've believed it was true homemade ice cream! Its been awhile since my last review. After the previous experience many years ago, Toulouse has more than made up for itself. When the weather is nice outside which is most of the time except in the heat of summer time the patio and the covered patio area, this place is a great place to come. Service is always on point, food maybe not quite the level of some of the other high end restaurants but the food is pretty close, and all the other intangibles make up the difference. With that said the food is very good. Highly recommend their burger, lobster bisque, salad louis, soupe d'oignon, to name a few. You get reasonable size portions rather than other place which seem to maybe cut corners. Came here Friday night arriving around 6:30pm. What a glorious evening for Al fresco dining on Toulouse's courtyard/patio. Everyone apparently had the same idea as the dining room was near empty and the patio packed. Service was great from drinks to dinner. My lobster risotto was excellent my wife's surf and turf special was great. Nice cook on the steak (Pittsburgh medium rare). We were celebrating a friend's birthday and dessert soufflé and crème brûlée both hit well. Nights like this are exceptional. Take advantage while you can as we don't get many in Houston. read more

We got a bottle of wine and shared the cheese plate, zucchini chips and truffle fries. Then we shared the apple tarte tatin and Mille feuille which were both very light and delicious. The atmosphere at Toulouse is beautiful, and the food was great. The caviar was a highlight and the scenery did not disappoint. However, my overall experience was not enjoyable, and that falls entirely on my server Estaban. I came here to treat myself to a solo lunch and celebrate a recent promotion. I was looking forward to this, taking my time, and fully present in the moment. What I did not expect was to be shocked by the level of service given the upscale setting and pricing. My server never introduced himself. I had to ask him his name. I had to ask him for recommendations. I had to ask him to walk me through the menu. He extended none of the basic courtesies I watched him offer every other table around me. When he brought bread, he slammed it on the table. When I asked for a straw for my French 77, he responded with and I quote "For what? For this?" He looked like he simply did not want to wait on me. Which is insane given where we are. I came in alone and was also the only person of color in the dining room. I don't make that observation lightly, but I'd be dishonest if I didn't name it. The contrast in how I was treated versus the guests around me was stark and undeniable. While I looked forward into ordering more than just an appetizer in a drink, and due to the service, I decided not to continue on with ordering an entree. Toulouse, you have a beautiful restaurant. But a dining experience is only as good as the service, and this server made it clear that my money and my presence were not equally welcome. Came here for a birthday, but don't expect any special service or freebies for birthdays-- even if you state it on your reservation. Otherwise the restaurant is very French elegance. Outdoor seating with live music from 1-4pm on Sundays. If it's too hot, then can sit outdoors but in a covered/shaded area with fans. We chose to sit indoors which was still fairly warm. Our server was very attentive and always made sure to check in on us. He was a bit aggressive with the water pouring though and got water all over my shoes when it spilled on the table and dripped off, but didn't even notice. As for the food-- everything was excellent! Espresso martini- 5/5 bit overpriced but one of the best ones I've had. Truffle deviled eggs- 5/5 never knew truffles would pair so perfectly with deviled eggs. The creaminess and texture work very well. Rockefeller oysters- 5/5 came with half dozen. Bits of bacon was great Lobster roll- 5/5 came on brioche bun and some kind of lemon sauce which made the lobster taste light and refreshing. I stopped in on Saturday night and was able to sit outside. They had a singer who sang jazz and classic music. We had oysters, lobster bisque, the seafood tower, beef bourguignon and champagne. The beef bourguignon is not a traditional preparation (I think they use a short rib) so it wasn't exactly what I was expecting. It was good, but again, different that what what I expected. This is a great spot for a Sunday brunch! You'll get great food, drinks, service and overall vibes. Everyone comes in their Sunday best! They have a ton of outdoor seating if you want to enjoy live music from 1-4pm. They have fans outside and the trees provide some shade but be prepared to embrace the Houston heat if you want to enjoy the music. If not, there's plenty of indoor seating but you won't hear any live music. We got the truffle deviled eggs. The truffle paired very well with the creaminess of the eggs. The Rockefeller oysters were not on the menu but the waiter said they can make it upon request. There were pieces of bacon on top with the classic spinach and cheese combo. It had good flavor but the oysters were a bit small. The lobster roll was served in a brioche bun with a beurre blanc sauce. This was a great dish to have in this hot weather since it was served with cold lobster and had a very light refreshing taste. Valet parking is available up front. We came here after watching a movie at IPIC in River Oaks. We just walked by it and saw the patio and were so drawn in that we actually decided to stay and have a few drinks. The patio is really nice and when we went, it was bustling with almost every table filled, and it honestly reminded me of Europe. I almost felt like I wasn't in Houston being there. It really gave me like a European lunch restaurant type of feel while I was there.The employees were also extremely friendly and hospitable as well. The food here is AMAZING. Also the outdoor dining is lovely, such a great relaxing vibe. I came here with my mom and a friendly and we have a very nice long lunch. We started out with some drinks and the zucchini squash chips which were so amazing I would highly recommend. Our server was very polite and professional, sensing that we were not in a rush, so she didn't come bother us a lot or press us to order then pay. For my main dish I got the tuna Niçoise salad which was unlike nicoises I've had in the past but in a very good way. There was no lettuce, it was just the normal ingredients of a Niçoise salad chopped up and mixed in a dressing/sauce topped with tuna. I've been thinking about it since because it really was so good. I was excited to try this restaurant for a cute lady's night out, but left disappointed. Let's start with the good. The appetizers and desserts are tasty, and the dishes are nicely made and presented. The restaurant is located at a central location of the shopping district, and it has a big outdoor patio area. The waiter did surprised us with a free dessert for our celebration and took group photos for us at the end. And that's about it. The service overall was disappointing. We barely could get a hold of our waiter during the first 2hrs of the meal. After getting seated, no one checked on us for at least 30 mins, so we had to ask a nearby waiter to take our appetizer order and bring us water. They only gave us 1 piece of tiny pre-meal bread to shared among the 5 of us initially, when we asked for more, they didn't not bring them to us until they served the main courses. They also didn't have enough menus, we had to pass the menu around. It doesn't feel like the standard a nice restaurant should have. And when time to pay for the bill, we were not offered the option to separate the bills based on the order, so we had to split the bill evenly. Which is not a big deal, but again, doesn't feel like the standard a nice restaurant should have. The waiter also stared right at you when inputting tips information, I left only 15% tip because I wasn't happy with the service and I'm not afraid of confrontation, but some of my friends left 20% because they felt pressured by the staring. Lastly, another complaint I have is the music was questionably loud, it doesn't really fits the vibe for the restaurant. I thought it was a night club at first. Amazing service! We had the waiter named Arturo and he was outstanding. Gave us great recommendations and checked on us from time to time and always made sure we were taken care of. The drinks were also great. I had the Hugo Sprits and it was refreshing and paired well with these dishes. The branzino and caviar tasted perfect. It was a great balance of savory and smooth with a creamy tender texture. It paired well with the asparagus as well. Last but not least was the Seared Wild Salmon Taboulet which surprised me. The smooth texture paired with the mash potatoes and spinach really was a hit. This seems like a standard great go to dish I would order if I was ever indecisive with the menu. Top French Restaurant in Houston! Reservations were made ahead of time and we were able to get seated right away in a high top. Started off with the Escargot and the garlic/parsley pesto-ish sauce paired well. Excellent texture on the escargot itself. My favorite app was definitely the Octopus Riviera. I've never seen octopus sliced so thinly and tasted super fresh with the lemon confit and the aioli. MUST GET! For the mains, we ordered 3 of them. The Beef Bourguigon was top tier. The braised short rib was so so so tender and easy to cut through. The pappardelle was fresh and cooked to perfection. Everything was seasoned! The Duck Confit really surprised me. The skin of the duck was crispy, but the inside of it was actually quite tender as well. Lentils was a good choice to pair the duck. The Lobster Risotto was also a favorite. They were very generous with the amount of lobster chunks that was given and the risotto was cooked to perfection, not a grain of rice was uncooked. The mascarpone cheese worked really well with the risotto. Was very very full at this point, but had to end it off with dessert. Can't go wrong with a creme brulee. Very creamy and top sugar was nice and crunchy. Just know Saturdays are going to be super busy. They had at least 60 servers running around, it was definitely a mad house. Spent Valentine's Day with my fiancée here last night for dinner. I have been here several times, and I've always had a good experience with their food and service. The ambiance is very bright - lots of white on tables cloths, walls and chairs - classy and clean. On V-Day night, it was very busy - the inside AND outside seating were completely filled up - and it seemed (maybe in my opinion) that they dimmed the lights a little to give a romantic, intimate atmosphere. Tonight we ordered the His and Hers Valentine's Special cocktails along with the Tuna Tacos to start. My cocktail, a bourbon with dark cocoa bitters, was smooth and had nice chocolate/cocoa finish at the end. The tuna tacos were a tasty tease of an appetizer as they were small and easily finished in three bites but packed with so much flavor. Our entrees for tonight were the Steak Frites and the squid ink pasta. Excellent plates that both of us enjoyed - I love the pasta although my fiancée thought it had a heavy lemon zest that could have been minimized. Our service tonight was very good, and she provided good recommendations when asked, and was undoubtedly busy with several tables. Hey family! So I wanted to do some fine dining and I grabbed my cousin and we decided to go out and get dressed up. I've heard great things about this place, so I decided to check it out. Upon arrival, the service was good. We were met with smiling faces and a staff willing to get us seated asap. We were escorted to our chairs within 10 minutes arrival. It was definitely busy and we were still able to find seating quickly. In terms of the food I'd give it a solid 9/10. Here's my breakdown. I ordered the Toulouse Burger, the Lobster Bisque, the Calamari, deviled eggs, and the vanilla latte. Everything was impeccable, my only ding came from the deviled eggs. You only receive four. I know that's an unfair ding, but I'm mad I didn't get more. In terms of the ambience, the music was rocking, and I saw successful beautiful people to my right and left. Everyone was smiling from ear to ear. I definitely felt like I was in the right place. Toulouse is definitely a spot you want to check out. Also, it's a great place for networking opportunities. The watermelon and cucumber made for a very refreshing and cooling drink. I ate the grilled octopus nicoise and was blown away. The octopus was unbelievably tender and was perfectly complimented by the eggplant puree and olives. The lemon zest added I nice pop of citrus and added a brightness to the dish. Very beautiful restaurant with lots of indoor and outdoor seating. They did have fans outside but we sat inside for dinner. I order lobster bisque and it did have a strong clam aroma. It was alright but I am biased since I prefer more tomato base bisque. Friend ordered the steak frites and the fries were good. Steak was slightly undercooked but still had a great taste. Ordered Profiteroles and received crème brûlée for celebrating my friend's birthday. The Profiteroles were not my favorite. The vanilla gelato was good but overall did not like the taste of the pastry bread with it. The crème brûlée was phenomenal and I would recommend it over and over to everyone. Came here for a Saturday brunch. The restaurant is nice with patio seating and live music but nothing there reminds me of France, including the food. Escargot was literally swimming in the parsley garlic butter sauce. Smoked salmon egg benedict was just ok. Mussels dish was lack of flavor. Lobster risotto was very expensive and i finished it in 4bites. Overall i would rate the food 7/10. Staffs are very friendly and helpful. They are just sometimes too quick to clear the table. The atmosphere is great especially with outdoor seating and the service too. I got the salmon entre and it was okay. It was cooked well but the lacked a bit of flavor on my end. The fries are really good especially with the dipping sauce. read more
