I found Above Lash Beauty and Maggie via Groupon. I have considered getting lash extensions for a while but wasn't sure if it was for me. Her groupon deal is 80 lashes total for about $37, which I felt was a great price to try out extensions and see if they are for me. I loved how my lashes looked after that trial set, and after 2 weeks, I got a full set. I have been returning to get fills from her for the past month and a half. Maggie is very friendly, calming, and knowledgable. She is able to answer and questions I have and her work is so fast, gentle, and beautiful! I have gotten many compliments on my lashes, and friends have said they look so natural, which is exactly what I wanted! I found Maggie through Yelp and I'm so glad I did! After parting ways with my trusted lash lady, I've been on a hunt for a new lash artist that's affordable and good quality. I've tried out different artists in Pasadena but I never felt fully satisfied. So glad I tried out Maggie - she's super sweet! Her studio is clean and she offered me a blanket so I was nice and cozy during my appointment. She also had to remove leftover lashes I had from another artist and let me tell you - it felt so therapeutic while she cleaned my lashes! I love how gentle Maggie is. Upon entering the establishment, there was a pleasant ambiance. However, the overall experience was regrettably lackluster. Communication proved challenging due to frequent phone usage on the part of Maggie, considerably diminishing the quality of the interaction. Literally no communication, nothing friendly. Despite understanding her Mandarin dialogue, remarks about her preference for being present rather than engaging were overheard, coupled with a nonchalant attitude towards this being the initial encounter as a potential long term customer I was annoyed, compounded by her continuous phone engagement....was so irritating!!! Furthermore, a noticeable garlic odor emanated from her breath, a particularly discomforting experience for a pregnant clientele which made me want to barf. The inadequacy of the bedding added to the unfavorable experience, as repeated adjustments were necessary to prevent sliding. It is recommended that you upgrade the pillows and linens to alleviate this issue. A lapse in professionalism occurred when Maggie asked me to hold the fan myself for lash drying while she was on her phone....seriously? I'd consider a fan that latches to the lights to eliminate this inconvenience. Maggies intermittent conversations with her partner via AirPods, which I can hear him, was unsettling. This was exacerbated by Maggie's business phone set at maximum volume, leading to unnecessary disruption and seriously does it have to be that loud!!!!! While the quality of the lash products were great, the application process was crap. Within hours of the application, a considerable number of lash pieces prematurely came off within hours. Some brow hairs were ripped off when she was pulling off the tape, causing significant irritation. Honestly, at this point I told myself never ever again. She wasn't even empathetic. It is important to note that a surcharge of $2 for credit card transactions is imposed, a policy that appears unconventional, particularly in comparison to industry norms. For those seeking a reliable permanent lash destination, an alternative choice is advised, as this establishment falls short of meeting expectations. My previous experience with my old lash technician Lina, in the Bay Area was notably superior, emphasizing genuine client care and exceeding expectations. You can tell she was there to make you feel comfortable and beautiful. Maggie however, is the complete opposite, you can tell she definitely didn't want to be there. She's careless, lacks enthusiasm, and is unprofessional. read more

She has gentle hands and I nap 90% of the times I'm getting my lashes done. I've been to many eyelash places and have tried many lash techs and Maggie is by far the best ! A friend recommended to try out her lash girl named Maggie. I was a bit scared because I always went to a place near my house and they did beautiful natural lashes that lasted for at least a month because I took care of them. I am pregnant (my first) and I was curious about the experience of pregnant clients since laying on your back for a long period of time is not recommended. Maggie understood my concerns and let me know it all depends on the person who is pregnant. Luckily for me , I actually am a back sleeper so being on my back so far didn't give me any bad reactions like other pregnant women. I arrived and Maggie greeted me and asked me if I needed to use the restroom first . I said yes please since my baby has me peeing so many times. She asked me what style do I like and what size do I normally get. I told her what I remember and she recommended a length that would still be beautiful but not too long since I was going for a natural look. She was very sweet , polite soft voice . The bed felt more comfortable than the other place I would get my lashes at. Music was relaxing. As I was laying down I told her that sometimes I would use a small pillow on my hip or lower back so that I wouldn't be laying flat. She was considerate to offer me a pillow but I felt okay and told her it's okay. She also reminded me if I felt any burning to let her know. My lashes came out sooooo pretty and natural.
