I've been coming to Sumi Lash way back when they were located in San Gabriel! After covid in 2022, my at home lash tech moved away so I was left having to look for a new lash tech. I found Sumi lash on yelp and decided to give them a try. So happy I did!! I've been coming here since and wow I've just know realized it's been 4 years. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There are many lash artists to choose from depending on the days and times, once you become a regular, you'll typically find one that you'd want to continue booking with.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Their new Temple City location is spacious, aesthetically girly, clean, and calm. Each lash tech has their own space with walls that separate them. The lashing beds are comfy, they offer blankets and I always find myself falling asleep because it's so comfortable. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Shoutout to Taya Tian!! She's my go to lash girl, I only book when she's available. She's friendly, fun to talk to, and has the softest touch.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I can barely feel her lashing me, I end up taking a nice (and much needed) nap! [[HIGHLIGHT]]I had high hopes..cute place, clean but nope.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Maybe it was just the tech? I went in to have a full set on Friday and by the 5th day, more than half my lashes had fallen. And no, I did not get them wet, I brushed them, not sleeping on them, not rubbing my eyes...Additionally, by the 2nd day, they were wonky. If you want your lashes to last, go elsewhere, too expensive for 5 day lashes. read more

I've been coming to Sumi Beauty Station since 2022 and have had over 70 appointments here and that alone should tell you how much I love this place. The prices are amazing compared to other lash spots that take longer and charge double and the quality is unbeatable. Literally ever single picture I've taken in the last 3-4 years are with lashes I've done at this place. I see Ada every time and she's truly the best lash tech I've ever had. I usually get the YY lashes and they always come out so beautiful, natural, and long lasting. On top of her skill Ada is incredibly kind and accommodating and even when her schedule is packed she always finds a way to squeeze me in omg I originally went to their San Gabriel location and honestly I would follow them anywhere on earth. Got my eye lash extension for the first time here and was very happy about it! The studio is very pretty and clean. I think this location is quite new so it's even nicer. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I went in, they asked which style I wanted. There are a few photos showing on the screen and the lash technician also showed me the real photo as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Definitely see the real photo first before deciding because the real thing was quite different from the image on the screen.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I got the sunflower style (which is one of the most natural look) and they let me choose the length later when I laid down on the bed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The treatment was about 2 hours where they glued the lashes and attached them one by one. It doesn't hurt, although think it's quite irritating and I got quite nervous throughout the treatment. It's like having water in your eyes that you can't wipe it out and needed to fan-blow it until it dries out. After drying out, it doesn't irritate anymore. It will feel like something blocking your vision all the time which I got used to in a few days. The great thing is that I didn't have to do lash make-up again in a month. read more

I have to say, I'm really impressed by my experience here! I decided to review after 3 weeks in order to give an accurate rating on the wear & durability of my lashes. Jessica was the one that helped me with my lash extension service. I had looked over their styles beforehand on the website & I requested a volume set, sunflower style. Then she asked me what look I wanted to go for and showed me each style set: cute, sexy, elegant etc. I asked her for a suggestion for my eyes: she recommended elegant so I went with those. She even showed me the lash length she would use and ask me if it was okay to proceed which I appreciated. The whole experience lasted an hour and it was a nice & peaceful environment. She was very professional in her craft, gentle handed, I could tell I was properly taken care of. I believe there was classical music playing in the background which made it relaxing too! By the end, I open my eyes to a nice surprise. My lashes look amazing! As for longevity, it has been 3 weeks since then but I still have a decent amount of them on & less fallout than a previous lash experience elsewhere. The adhesive they used for the lashes is good quality and I would definitely come back and recommend this place to others! Keep up the good service! read more

Be prepared to be tricked with the promo they have going on! You go in for their $55 first time client and then they suggest to you that you should add in whatever to make it look better. I gave in and said sure cause the lady I chose had a good reviews when I booked her. Wrong again. It looked good when I left the place but when I got home and was watching TV, it kept feeling like my lashes were gonna fall off. This review is for Taya! I haven't been back in a while just due to the cost of lash extension upkeep, but when I was a regular, Taya was one of my absolute favorite techs. She was always so gentle yet through & detailed, and I always felt like she really cared about making sure I was happy with the end result. I've asked other techs what style or shape they think might suit my eyes the most but didn't really feel they wanted to answer, but Taya was attentive in listening to my concerns and preferences while giving feedback/her opinion. I was always super happy with the sunflower style I left with :) Expect to spend 1-2 hours there depending on how many lashes you need filled, and also don't be embarrassed about falling asleep on the table. Literally happens to everyone lol! You also get a free gift or coupon every 10 visits! read more

Sumi® Lashes mission is to provide lash artists the platform they need to soar to new heights and fulfill their dreams of entrepreneurship while not compromising their creativity. We are committed to providing our lash stylists and salons with top quality products and continued lash extension training. Sumi® Lashes was founded in 2016 by husband and wife Bo Cui and Yu Xiao. With their combined experiences, Yu designed and built out the first Sumi® Lashes while Bo worked on perfecting the operations and customer experience. She wasn't friendly at all, almost in an off putting way. It comes across as she doesn't want new clients and only cares about her repeat clients, which I eventually wanted to become. Went to her again yesterday to get my brows done for my bday. I use retinol but know that I need to stop using it least 3 weeks before. I waited over a month this time just to be cautious. Told her all about it and that I don't want my skin to lift and I took all precautions because it's happened before with another brow artist. The wax hurt a bit more than normal and I asked if my skin lifted and she said no. As soon as I looked in the mirror I could see the skin under my eyebrows came off. I wish she paid more attention or told me the truth about it lifting so I didn't do the other brow. So now I'm going to look like this on my birthday. Definitely regr

After following Salin's page, I decided to go for it. I developed allergies to magnetic eyeliners since I was wearing magnetic lashes, and I needed to do something about my appearance. I made an appointment and drove an hour out to see her. My best advice is to arrive early because of traffic. Yes, you do have to pay before the procedure. The price is adjusted depending on the shape you want. I didn't mind that. I understood that this was a business, and who knows, maybe she got scammed before. Anyway, I was willing to pay extra because I have hooded eyes, and like I mentioned before, I have difficulty putting on eyeliner. Being Asian, my eyes are hooded and small, and I have no eyelid crease. So I have a different problem entirely. We spent a good 30 minutes getting the shape right. I wasn't picky about the shape because she is a professional, and after seeing photos of her work, I trusted her judgment and told her to do what she felt was best. We changed shapes twice, and honestly, I am glad she did. The first drawn in line was ok. However, when my eyes were open, you couldn't see them. She changed it to a different style I have never seen before and WOW! My eyes look way better! I don't look so tired! I will also add that I felt no pain! So much that I fell asleep, and she said I was snoring a little! :) Anyways, the procedure from the time I arrived to the time I left was around 3 hours long. Salin is truly worth it. I will return to her to fix my lip blush. Also, keep in mind. Not many permanent makeup artists work on the eyelid. She is truly a master. For those commenting on thick eyeliner, it is worth it for people with hooded eyes like me. If you had big eyes with an eyelid crease, you may not need it. But for someone with eyelids like mine... I need it. If she teaches it to her students, it's good because she is accommodating all different eye shapes. I made an appointment for a touch up next month. Can't wait!

My left brow naturally arches more than my right. She was able to point that out and let me know she would draw my right side higher to even it out as much as posible. During the drawing process she would ask me to look and take pictures of myself to see if everything was good and ready to go before proceeding with the tattooing part. We took some off, added some here and there until we got it right. At first the drawing looked super thick to me but she did inform me not to worry that it would not look like that at the end. She just drew it to how she would know where to go in with the tattoo ink. The whole process took about 2-2.5 hours and healing time took about 7 days ! I did come back for a touch up since it was my first time and the peeling does take off some of the ink and i perfer them a little darker than what it was. The touch up was included in the price i was qouted and i tipped her on top of it ! I know her prices have changed since i been so double check for her new pricing! Parking lot is located in back of the store a bit small maybe five parking spots but there is also street parking. Interior was very clean and simple very easy to the eyes all neutral colors i really liked how each station had a ring light and a personalized section with a mirror super cute! Service was great they do offer you water as a beverage so your not parched during your session. They also do eyelash extentions here i never done mines but during my brow session i seen a few people come in and out to get thier lashes done ! Overall i would highly recommend this spot to my friends and family !

Unfortunately, that just wasn't my experience. I went in for a brow lamination and shaping and explained that I wasn't into the super thick, trendy brow look. I wanted something more natural and balanced. After the lamination process, she started shaping my brows and when she showed me the results, I immediately noticed they looked uneven and lacked symmetry and thicker than I had wanted. I mentioned it to her and asked if she could correct them a bit, and while she did try, they still didn't look right to me afterward but I paid and left. I felt I could shape them better at home myself. The friend I had brought with me pointed out that they looked different from each other. Individually, they weren't terrible, but together, they just didn't look balanced or well-shaped as a pair. Don't get me wrong I wasn't expecting perfect symmetry because brows are naturally sisters, not twins, but for a $150 service from someone with such a strong reputation, I did expect more attention to overall shape and balance. What disappointed me the most was what happened over the next few days. My brow hairs stayed extremely dry, stiff, and brittle well past the normal timeframe. By day three, they still felt very dry and I started noticing actual breakage and kinking in the hairs. After researching it online, it really seemed like my brows were overprocessed. I reached out to her because I understand mistakes happen and everyone can have an off day. I simply wanted to let her know what was happening and hoped she would at least respond or offer some help. Unfortunately, I never heard back from her at all, and honestly that part spoke volumes to me. I truly don't understand how so many people had such amazing experiences while mine was so disappointing, but this was genuinely my experience and I wanted to share it honestly.
