I ordered the chicken enchiladas tonight with half red and half green sauce. I travel weekly and get sick of eating out. The food here tastes homemade and provides comfort when I'm in my hotel room. I order my meals prior to going to the gym. My order is always on time, perfectly packaged, still warm and delicious. This is a great restaurant. Everything I've had has been delicious. I arrived at the hotel late and quickly headed to the bar/restaurant as I was starving. They were closing in less than an hour, but service was friendly and quick. A few in our party ordered the creamy green chile soup and I ordered the quesadillas. It was a very generous portion of each dish and we all left very full and happy. Prices were very decent as well, I would recommend for anyone staying at the hotel to give this a try! read more

I don't normally review hotel restaurants because I'm usually only eating there because I don't have a car or they are the only thing still open. I should have taken a picture because odds are good your won't believe me. Since I was staying there the night I got my food to go. I ordered the Hatch Chili Burger. It is a half pound hand formed burger made to order with bacon, cheddar and hatch chilies on a brioche bun. If you're staying there don't be afraid to give it a try. The service was also friendly and attentive while I was waiting for the 15 min it took to cook. read more

Having just arrived in ABQ, NM at 10:15pm, we were craving green chile stew & a margarita (a tough call, late on a Sun. nite, even in Albuquerque). Went in search of the ABQ Grill, finding the restaurant 'temporarily closed', but their adjoining bar open for food & drink. I ordered the Green Chile Double Smash Burger to be delivered to my room. When I got it, it was cut in half and I noticed right away when it opened the container that the burger was dry. The description on the menu is " 2 ground chuck patties, hatch green chile, sharp white cheddar and roasted garlic and truffle mayo." I went downstairs and let the clerk know there wasn't any of the truffle mayo and it was dry. She went to get me a side of it and came back with mustard and regular mayo packets and apologized and said they were out of the truffle mayo. I went back upstairs and noticed upon further inspection when I went to add mustard to it that it is not two smashed patties, it's one thick patty and there's also no hatch green Chile on it either. It also has wilted, gross iceberg lettuce, tomato and onion on it. If I had been told when I called that they actually don't make the green Chile burger at all and it's just a plain burger, I would have ordered something else. The meat was gristly and gross and I couldn't eat it and had to throw it out. Disappointed I wasted $22 on this awfulness that I threw out anyway. read more

I came here with one thing in mind...The Cream of Green Chile Chicken Mushroom Soup. Although I saw a couple of intriguing items on the menu, I stuck to my goal and got the soup, since it was different and sounded good. And it was great! The perfect amount of spice and a good amount of chicken and fresh veggies. For my next try, if it comes to it, I will have the tortilla soup and/or the avocado fries. So, bottom line, get this soup! And enjoy *** Follow-up *** Okay, I went back to try the deep fried, Panko crusted Avacado fries w/Chipotle Sauce. Why? Well, because of curiosity. Crispy, crunchy, and creamy inside. Cool idea, but these really had no flavor other than the avocado. If that floats your boat, then climb on in, but, for me, I couldn't finish them and I wouldn't try them again. Omg...I stay at hotels often and I can honestly say the chef here knows what he's doing. I ordered the salmon and at first I thought it was over cooked because of how dark it was, but when I cut into it I found that the outside of it was perfectly crispy while the inside cut through like butter. I'm guessing this is an unusual setup for a hotel restaurant review. I'm a local, and I had no initial intent to dine at this restaurant. It was a Saturday morning and we found ourselves pretty starved in Uptown, so we went to one of the, like, two breakfast options in the area -- the Egg & I -- and of course the place was absolutely packed. Among the parties waiting to be seated were a group of 12 firemen, which fascinated my five year-old, likely titillated my wife, and really agitated me. I'm one of those low blood sugar a$$holes, no food makes Jack a mad boy. So I was kinda stewin', wondering if the wait really would be 30 minutes, when the lightbulb went on: Wait a minute, there's a restaurant in that Sheraton! Let's go there! I definitely felt like a friggin' genius when we entered the ABQ Grill and it was virtually vacant. We had the place all to ourselves? Schweet! Granted, it was abnormally cold in there, we were told the place was having air conditioner issues, but the rest looked promising. Eh, not so much. The food was solid three stars: pancakes, eggs, potatoes, prices. Service, too. And I ordered a smoothie, don't remember exactly what it cost, something like $8, which could not have been more sleepy. I make 'em at home all the time, and hey, I understand that the place is in a hotel, but it was just a glass of yogurt and fruit, spun. It reminded me of the conversations I've had with chefs who, for some stint of their careers, ran hotel restaurants. I'm a very picky about how food is prepared. I like to call myself a professional chef, but I am not. I'm in forensics and law. I have traveled to over 47 US States and 357 US Cities and Albuquerque remains at the top because the following: people are friendly, food is insatiable, cost of business is inexpensive (subjective), cleanliness, promptness, and simple tips not like NYC, DC, SF, Denver, New Orleans and so forth. No gouging the business weary traveler who wants to eat. I stayed an additional night just because I rather rest up in Albuquerque before making my 15 hour trip to Palo Alto, California where I will be gouged. Gouging only makes me charge my clients the fees incurred on my trip, so staying in Albuquerque to rest and eat so I can travel nonstop is worth it to my company and my clients. Good job Sheraton Hotel Albuquerque Uptown! Yum. My Baja Cod Fish Tacos are coming up now! $17.00 it is a steal compared to JW Indianapolis and Hilton Resort in Alexandria VA (last month). The calamari is very good. The portion was very large, definitely enough to share-I had it for lunch & it was still a lil much. But, because it was so good-I continued eating.....order extra sauce to accommodate the pile of shrimp & calamari topped with jalapeño slices. read more

You know, I usually have doubts about hotel restaurants. Especially this hotel, which seemed to be pretending to be fancier than it was and had already somehow charged me $20 for a smoothie and a cup of coffee for room service for breakfast. But I was at a convention and needed to eat lunch when I got the opportunity, so the hotel restaurant would have to suffice. And it actually turned out to be very interesting and yummy. I tried the sweet potato chile relleno - something I had never heard of before. It was delicious! It came with a plate of vegetarian goodness including green chile enchiladas and some tasty steamed veggies. I came back the next morning for a huge breakfast, that was cheaper than the shitty $20 smoothie, and had another delicious meal. The egg white frittata was delicious and came with way more food than you could possibly need. The only major downfall of this restaurant is the extraordinarily slow service. It seems like they just grab whatever hotel employee is handy and have them do rounds. No one seemed to be a dedicated waiter or waitress and that added a significant amount of wait time to both of my dining experiences. read more
