Service was great the staff was kind. This isn't the best study spot. Seating is mostly stools facing the window, not much table space, and not a lot of privacy. I was visiting from Michigan and we decided to sit down for some brunch and shared the eggs Benedict and coconut dessert as well as the iced espresso with banana foam. Everything was so delicious- the banana foam did taste like actual banana and the drink was not too sweet at all- they did a great job and the coffee was so smooth. There's also a small fridge with fruit-based desserts, but if you're waiting in line for the café, you might not even notice it. I had high hopes since the space is really cute and clearly popular. I returned to try their brunch menu with a friend. The dining area is very crammed which I could see be uncomfortable when busy but it was nonetheless cute and cozy for a winter afternoon. The menu is quite inconvenient to read through and since it's already online, they should do a better job indicating what is sold out for the day. There was some awkwardness with our server and the barista about this but if you want pastries you need to first see what's in the cafe. We had a pastry a couple of drinks and French toast. I first tried their pastries at a Chamber of Commerce event, and those were fantastic so I had to visit the restaurant. I went for breakfast after a doctor's appointment and wasn't able to have anything--not even coffee!--prior, so this was such a welcome treat. I ordered the cappuorange drink, an iced espress-orange juice concoction that was totally bizarre but totally worked. I ate the carbonara croissant while I was there, and the pastry is layered so beautifully. It's a perfect balance--too often to get a croissant this flaky it's dry and overcooked. This pastry was crisp, tender, just gorgeous. I will say I wish the filling had had a bit more carbonara flavor or had been more present (maybe my croissant leaked in the oven? It was mostly empty inside), but what was there tasted delicious. I also got the bow-shaped croissant with a berries and cream filling to go. That one was bursting with filling. The berries were tart, the cream sweet and bedazzled with vanilla beans. I can't wait to go back and try literally everything. Big shout out to the barista who helped my groggy self order coffee.
