I am figuring out a way to add caviar to my budget! But a little goes a long way and it is such a wonderful treat even on a casual night! I stopped by Absolute Caviar to celebrate my spirit mom's birthday. It was an enchanting experience. The shop is lovely and in itself, a feast for the eyes! So many treasures! Alex was warm, welcoming and so cool. I made it known that I know nothing about Caviar and not even sure if I had ever tried it properly. This was no problem! I was offered three samples and figured out which one I enjoyed the most for my naïve caviar pallet. I also picked up some blinis, biscuits and crème fraiche. And of course, had to get Beluga Vodka! So happy they carried it here!! I invited one girlfriend over for a sentimental celebration. And we had such a nice time. 4oz was more than enough for the two of us! I will definitely be back here and recommend to anyone looking to have something extra special for a celebration or even a mellow girls night! Thank you, Alex!

My 11 year old son has been asking to try caviar ever since he learned that they served it on the Titanic (he's been obsessed with the Titanic for years). We were driving by and he begged me to stop. This place is AMAZING!! Maria was so lovely and informative. We knew nothing about what to buy and she gave us the run down on all things caviar. She had us sample a couple of different kinds and we made our selection. It was a lovely experience and we will definitely go back. Beautiful store run by wonderful people.

Beautiful store with beautiful offerings. The selection of caviars is very impressive as nothing in the San Fernando valley exists quite like this. I met the owner Alex today for a tasting - he kindly guided me through some black caviars and was incredibly knowledgeable about his craft. As imagined, it was delicious. The store and its offerings are well thought out with an assortment of speciality European/Baltic treats. What sets this store above the rest, they package your caviar in a cooler with ice packs and a special spoon (metal spoons interfere with the taste!). Yes, you heard me right. What a concept for a delicate luxurious treat. Well done Alex and company, I cannot wait to come back for more

Wonderful store and delicious caviar! The door is locked, so you have to ring to be let in which I completely understand given the beautiful glass pieces surrounding the store. I came in to quench my caviar craving, but I'm honestly new to the whole thing as I grew up in the midwest never eating it. We (my sister and I) were given a tasting of three different black sturgeon caviar, so I was able to taste the differences between the options. They all have their unique positives, but it was the Ossetra Royal that won tonight due to the nice briny flavor. The Ossetra Reserve was more mild and the Sirberian Supreme was much more buttery. Both delicious options if the occasions call for them, but all had a great crisp/pop. I received a free mother-of-pearl spoon and cooler pack with ice blocks with my purchase. Very nice for picking up! I also added on the crème fraiche and bilini. The bilini are frozen and the instructions to reheat in the microwave are spot on since they dictate the wattage as well. The 2oz serving was definitely generous and I was able to pile on the caviar tonight. I will absolutely be coming again! My sister even joked "I wonder if they have a loyalty program" because she knew right away we were coming back.

Absolute Heaven! What a fabulous Temple of Sturgeon! Smallish retail establishment right on Ventura Blvd, with caviar, caviar, caviar everywhere, and also delicious blini, creme fraiche, canned fish appetizers from Russia, and stunning accessories for the ultimate caviar party. We purchased 4 oz of Ossetra after being offered a taste - heaven! Alex, the owner, was extremely cordial and gave us a gift of Beluga Vodka - also authentic Russian. We will be back! Highly recommended!

Great service. I called this morning, in need of a gift for a co-worker. Alex was very helpful, and very knowledgeable. He quickly gave me a run down of what they carry\ what he recommended best for a gift. He also let me know they offer curbside pickup (witch i tool full advantage of). 30 minutes later i met Alex outside to pick up my order. Over all pleasant experience. He even threw in a free cooler!

Best spot for amazing high quality caviar! I surprised my husband for his birthday by taking him to Absolute Caviar and we had the most pleasant experience. We did a caviar tasting and opted for the Royal Caviar, we bought blinis and cream fraiche and they set it up for us to enjoy there. We opened a bottle of champagne as well and had a relaxing afternoon! Definitely recommend this place and their prices are fair for sure! read more

What a wonderful surprise came to Sherman Oaks! A beautiful new Caviar store just opened at 13626 Ventura Blvd. It is the sister store to the well known Absolute Caviar in Hollywood. We live four blocks from the new store and have been waiting impatiently for them to open! We visited the store today and had a great experience. We tasted several kinds of different levels of caviar. Maria was knowledgeable and incredibly helpful and very nice. We bought their Kaluga Sturgeon Black Caviar Amber and will serve it on Christmas Day! It was delicious when we tasted it! We also bought some beautiful smoked salmon and a lovely serving dish to serve the caviar in! They have excellent blinis too! We are definitely going back to by some more caviar for New Year's Day! read more

What a great find on Ventura. Family tradition to have caviar every year but our normal supplier retired we thought we were at a loss. Took a leap of faith and got caviar this year from Alex. Finally! Absolute Caviar has come to the valley!!! No more driving over the hill to their sunset location. This place takes all the guesswork out of picking up a treat for a special event or even just having a nice treat for yourself on a tuesday night:) Maria is amazing and does a taste test as soon as you go up to the counter so you can figure out what kind of caviar is right for you! I like salty and briny, my wife likes smooth and buttery so we usually get a little of both. If you're not a caviar person I can promise you that the people at the next party of dinner you go to our and nothing is better than coming through the door with a tin of the good stuff. In terms cost, they have a wide range of options--something for everyone. And the quality? Really so very good. I'm a bit of snob when it comes to caviar and they deliver excellent quality from their 'cheaper' tins all the way up to the more expensive stuff. Welcome to Sherman Oaks Absolute Caviar! My wife and I saw this place was opening nearby and wanted to try it out. What is great is that you don't need to be familiar with all the different types of caviar because Maria is there to walk you through all the delicious varieties - and by walk you through, I mean she will take out each kind of caviar and literally walk you through with a taste of each. It is totally unacceptable & immoral to scam anyone (forget fellow Bangladeshi). Not only they lost a potential customer, but also now they have this review & I'll make sure to inform everyone I know to avoid this place. So many other Bangladeshi stores around there to choose from (I won't name any so it doesn't look like I'm either promoting or trying to denounce this place to help any other stores around). The things I tried I'm thinking 3 stars, my daughter liked the things she bought so averaging it out maybe a solid 3.5 stars rounded up to a generous 4 stars. Service was okay. Natas has a wide variety of pastries. I think the other items on the menu are more well received. I'll need to go back next time I am in town to try out some of other menu items.
