Stopped by after work, trying to find somewhere closer to my house to get my nails done. Shouldn't have bothered. Should have just gone to the last place I went, even if it's out of my way. Oh well. So, Absolute Nails & Spa is located a few doors down from Publix. I walked in just before 5:30 for gels color change. The lady who did my nails took her time removing my previous gels and I didn't experience any discomfort (not always the case). She got up to wax someone's eyebrows at some point, and a guy started to take over. He tried to apply gel to my nails without any sort of base coat/bonder. When I told him he missed a step, he tried to tell me that my nails were fake. Um. No. He took off the polish he had started at my request, and it was at that point that the lady returned and took over. I thought she did a good job while I was in the shop, but upon closer inspection once I left, there are a few areas that she missed around my nail beds. It doesn't look bad, just a little sliver of unpainted nail on the sides of some of my nails. The thing that bothered me most about Absolute Nails & Spa was that while it looked well decorated and clean... the tools the lady used on my hands didn't come out of a sterile package or sanitizing fluids. They came out of her drawer, which she sprayed with what I can only hope was sanitizer. That alone was enough for me to not want to return. The hours are a bit inconvenient (for me at least), as they close at 6pm, which is hardly enough time to stop by after work if I want enough time to actually relax. Everyone there was really friendly, which was nice. I'm used to places offering me water or some sort of beverage though, and Absolute didn't, which in the big picture doesn't matter too much. I was a bit surprised by prices (my own fault for not looking), because I didn't get a proper manicure just a color change, and they charged me the same rate that I've been charged elsewhere for a full/proper manicure. I think next time I'm ready to switch my gel mani, I'll go elsewhere, even if it is out of the way. read more

My Mother-in-law, sister-in-law and I am came for pedicures while on vacation. We booked in at 12 but their pedicures started a good 15-20 minutes before mine. The had the Happy Feet pedicure and since mine started after theirs and we were short on time I went with the Deluxe. Totally happy with my toes but if I hadn't had opted for a lesser treatment we wouldn't have all been done at the same time. read more

horrible experience. my sister and I went here on a girls day out. we both chose the deluxe pedi and a basic mani. The service I received was horrible. my Technician finished both my pedi and my mani before my sister was even done with her pedi alone. I feel she barely gave my feet the attention she should have. then for the mani she was done in about ten minutes. I had to ask her to put something on my hands and massage them. Once she was completed, I looked at my feet and the heels still looked a bit rough. I consulted with the on-site manager who told me I just have dry skin and should put Vaseline on them at night. what kind of foolery is that!!! noone tried to make the situation right. And that pedi job was horrible. Polish peeled off in about five days. read more

I've been here a couple of times, the last time was for a gel fill, on the wall it says it was for $18.00 but I was charged $30 when I confronted the man about it, he said it was because I chose a gel nail coat, I said you mean to tell me that the color is $12.00, he did not respond, but was happy to take my money. Will not go back. By the way the last time my nails were done here I developed a fungi from here on my nails, all the girl did was cut down the nail and add another nail on top of it, I WILL NOT GO BACK, BEWARE.... they do not sterilized there instruments. read more

I've had some iffy nail experiences in the past but this tops them all. Usually I travel to Lakeland to get my nails done but since it's about a 30-40 min drive I decided to go somewhere close to my home. First they didn't allow my to pick a color for my mani/pedi. Odd, then I asked for a light-baby pink color. They said they didn't have that? Odd because I just saw them doing nAils with the same color I asked for. So I settled with a different color. Upon getting my manicure, idk if it was the first day on the job but my child could've done a better job. Sloppy, waited 40 min for them to dry and they still didn't bc if how thick they were. Everything is clumpy. Smudged immediately, they wouldn't fix it either. for a basic mani/pedi is $40 somehow I was charged $50?! I was so irritated for already being there well over 2 hours that I just wanted to leave. Do not go there if you are expecting your nails to turn out nice. I shouldn't have paid for this, I was debating if I should go back today to have them re done but with the quality of the place it's not worth it. I came here for a mani and pedi and was not satisfied. A gentleman started doing my pedicure and he got up after one foot and a woman took over. She did not remove any of the skin around my nails. When she pushed back my cuticle, she disnt even bother to put the cuticle cream on first. Then she continued brushing the top of my toes with a brush for some unknown reason. She did cut my nails but they are uneven. When she got started on my nails, the water in the bowl was cold and soaked my nails for not even a minute. She barely cut any skin around the nails and left my cuticles which she pushed back without any cuticle cream. She also did not paint my nails up to the edge. When i told her that i was unhappy with the job done and requested a discount, she ignored me and swiped my debit card. I got her attention and she stopped and told the owner or manager who was sitting at the second table. I explained to her what happened and she ignored me and told her how much to charge. I told the owner that i wasnt going to pay full price and explained everyrhing again and showed her my nails and she told me that she can paint the corners. I asked her about the skin and cuticles and she ignored me and repeated that she can paint the corners. I was shocked! Coming from Miami, maybe I was expecting too much. Never coming here again. One thing is to offer bad service but to ignore your customers concerns is disrespectful. read more

Good prices! Went in for a pedi and was really satisfied! Other placesigo to rush thru the massage but takes his time massaging. Like a good 15 minutes per foot and other nail salons ive gone to dont do it for more than five alltogether.will definitley come back for another pedi.
