I've been seeing Kate at APS for 6 months now. I have treated myself to Aveda facials for several years now, but wasn't seeing the results I wanted anymore. Natural products are important to me, so I did some research. Eminence is a high-end organic product line and sounded like something I wanted to try. I have gone here twice now! I never had a facial before, but my sister used them for her wedding and loved them. I have always had bad skin, acne since I was 12 and I had gotten it somewhat under control and then BAM! my skin went crazy! I went here hoping to help calm my skin down finally. I saw Kim and she is great! She knows the science behind everything and walks you through everything she does as she does it and why she chose to do it. She really pays attention to your skin and works with it. She definitely knows what she is talking about and makes you feel very calm and at ease throughout the whole process. I have had two visits and I can't be more pleased. Kelly is very professional and knowledgeable. The advice she gave me has changed my skin! For my first appointment, she sat down with me and reviewed my skin care routine. She then gave me a few pointers and proceeded to clean up my face. I went to Kelly last month for the first time, and i will definitely be returning. Her knowledge about general and specific skin care, as well as each product she uses and sells, was exceptional. The space was low-key and inviting, and i immediately felt comfortable. No products were pushed on me, but my skin looked and felt so great afterward that i couldn't resist some well-selected items from the wonderful dermalogica line that Kelly uses and carries. The facial was ok however my skin really didn't look much better afterwards and still doesnt a week and a half later. I've had better facials where my skin just glowed afterwards and that really didn't happen after a vist to Absolute Precision. I have been getting facials at Absolute Precision Skin Care for over a year and my skin has tremendously improved. I have rosacea and sometimes my skin flares out and turns red and bumpy. During each facial Jessica tailors my treatment based on how my skin is reacting that day. I really don't like facials but realize that I have to get them sometime. I emailed Absolute Percision and told them about my hesitation and tried to set up an appointment. Kelly was super helpful and booked an appointment for me. That part was great. The facial -- not so good. I had Bonnie, and unfortunately, it was a pretty bad experience. I really don't appreciate the hard sell she gave me for products. The minute I walked in, I was told my cleanser, moisturizer, and tinted moisturizer were all wrong because of "known" carcinogens and other pseudo-science. I come from a family of doctors, including a few derms, so I didn't appreciate an esthetician telling me about carcinogens. It felt really sleezy and made me feel uncomfortable. I know you get trained by certain comestic companies, so of course, you are going to really push those, but you shouldn't try to be "scientific" about it when you don't have a scientific degree. The facial itself was pretty painful, but I think that might have been more to do with my time of the month (although according to "Dr." Bonnie, it could have been a hormonal imbalance (?!?)). Also, the "massage" was not a massage -- it felt like she was tickling me even though I asked for more pressure. I guess she saved up her muscles for the extractions which were so painful. The only reason that I am not giving 0 or 1 stars is that my skin actually looks good. I was afraid I woudl have scarring from the amount of pressure that she applied. If I didn't have to listen to her fake science, I might have gone back. I really don't understand all the glowing reviews. I rarely write reviews, but I thought people should know about my experience and be wary of estheticians trying to act like medical doctors. read more

I normally do not write reviews but this time I had to. Absolute Precision Skin Care has changed the way I look at my skin as well as facials in general. I'm in my mid 30's and originally thought my skin was too sensitive for facials and I didn't really understand the lasting effects they could produce. Kelly helped me to understand that my skin is actually acne prone and not "sensitive" and then came up with a long term plan for my my specific skin type. I see her every month and would go more often if I could. My skin finally looks and feels great. I used to get breakouts at least once a month and in the past year I think have had one or two minor breakouts and they cleared up immediately. My only regreat is that I didn't find her sooner. read more

I love going and getting my facials with Bonnie. She understands what my skin needs and I end up with a glowing complexion that lasts for a long time. I usually book a regular facial but Bonnie will work with my skin to see really what is needed each time. I made an appointment with Bonnie about six months ago after developing some acne on my chin. I had never really had any problems with acne before and admittedly am pretty lazy about skin care. Bonnie gave me an excellent facial and suggested some organic products as well as possible dietary changes to help reduce the inflammation. She also pointed out some other skin issues I didn't even know I had i.e. sun damage, tightness, built up dry skin, etc. The Eminence product line seems a little pricey upfront compared to the $6 stuff I was using before, but as Bonnie pointed out, it lasts for a long time. Plus, it actually works! I can actually see how much better it is for my skin than the over-the-counter product I was using. My skin has greatly approved and my acne is so much better (even though I am still a little lazy with my skin regimen). The products and the regular facials have cleared up the flaky, dry skin on my nose and have visibly reduced the number of clogged pores. Bonnie always takes a look at my skin before she starts and customizes the facial to my needs that day. Everyone is really friendly and the atmosphere is clean and relaxing. I made an appointment online to meet with Krista and drove from Wilmette to meet with her to help relieve my cyst like acne. My best friend told me about how amazing this place was, and I was very excited to try them out. When I arrived, I was greeted by a very rude woman who was too busy on the phone to assist me. Guess what, it was Krysta! After belittling me more with her inability to assist me, and her nasty and rude behavior, I finally got fed up enough to just leave untreated. The best facial I've ever had. If you're looking for someone to use a million products on your face just to get you to feel like you're getting your money's worth, don't come here. Compared to other facials I've had, the experience had a lot less bells and whistles. The results however are amazing, believe me!
