I bought the Thermador 48" steam range with induction from ABW. If you have $16K and time for the repairman to come to your house 8 times in 2 months and still have this range not work, this is the range for you. If you are fine with ABW standing by while Thermador puts you though this nonsense for a range that hasn't worked properly a single day in since it was installed, buy from ABW. If you are researching a new high-end range and are excited about the steam, the looks, the amazing burners with super high and super low heat, you need to know two things. This range has more motherboards than your computer and Thermador knows that many of the boards are bad. Instead of accepting that some of these ranges are lemons and replacing a malfunctioning range, they just send someone to repair it over and over and over again. My range did not function properly the day it was installed (it was making really loud and unnerving ticking noises) not to mention the oven (even on convention) would burn the bacon on the bottom shelf while undercooking the bacon on the top shelf (don't believe those photos with perfectly cooked food on multiple levels - BUY THE WOLF!) and the fan would run for almost an hour when the manual says it should only run for 10 mins after turning it off. Every time the repairman came, another thing would break. After 8 repair trips for things from the weird ticking noise to a hissing noise where the temperature gage would randomly go from zero to 160 degrees to zero and back, to burners not turning on (how is that even possible with gas) to the induction unit not working at all, to the main oven not working at all, to the steam oven not working at all, now the warming drawer doesn't work at all. WHY WOULD ANYONE SPEND MORE THAN $16K TO BE TREATED LIKE THIS?!!! It's really not worth the risk. I understand that sometimes products are lemons. But customer service is everything and no one should be stuck with endless repairs with a day-one malfunction, especially at this price tag. OH, and ABW didn't stand behind its product. They hide behind Thermador and "their process". Which means 8 repairs in 2 months and still not working properly! read more

If you can buy an appliance from anywhere else, do so. Over the past 2 years I have purchased a Thermador stove and JennAir beverage refrigerator from ABW. Both appliances have broken within 2 years of purchase. Each time the appliance breaks, the following scenario transpires: 1. Call the service center and eventually be directed to leave a message. 2. Wait for a call back which typically happens hours later. (3 hours today.) 3. Schedule a service technician for 5-7 days later with no "idea of a window". 4. Technician arrives after 6pm (seriously) only to say, we need to order a part. The window on the day of service was given between 12-4p. 5. Repeat steps #2-4. 6. 2nd Technician says the 1st technician didn't know what they were doing and says another part is needed. 7. Repeat steps #2-4. 8. 3rd Technician completes the repair more than 1 month after the initial malfunction. There HAS TO BE "A Better Way" (ABW) than this madness. I have had to take off days from work and spend extra money eating out. Their "customer service" department should be renamed to "Customer Disservice". Avoid. read more

The salesman, DeiverC, demonstrated the model on display and answered all questions and showed us the pluses and minuses of other brands. We had been researching Bluestar and similar ranges on line, as this was a major purchase for us. He knew the product. The very positive rating results from (1) an accurate quote with our exact specifications within one day; (2) substantial reduction on retail price; (3) inspection by the production department to ascertain compliance with space, utility, and ventilation needs; (4) arrival of the order within 5 days of expected delivery; (5) arrival of delivery/installation crew (ABW employees, NOT subcontractor!!!) on the date and time promised; (6) expert, professional installation with the installers staying until all issues were addressed; (7) follow-up to see if there was satisfaction or problems. We are currently doing an entire new kitchen remodel with all new appliances and very much out of our element. I had a lot of questions and didn't know where to start. I went first to a couple other appliance distributers, but they were unresponsive. Ryan and everyone at ABW made the whole process so simple for me to get a new refrigerator. After contacting them with the model that I was interested in, a quote was sent that very day. After agreeing to the quote, I was contacted by their sales person Lisa and paid that day. They kept me in the loop on estimated delivery during these crazy pandemic times. Knowing that everybody was backed up, I knew my fridge wouldn't be coming for a bit. If you like your kitchen... DO NOT EVER USE Appliance Builders Wholesalers for service. They came out to service my Bosch dishwasher and in the process, they put a big gash in one of my cabinets, scratched my floor and to boot they didn't screw the kick plate back in. I'm a long time customer of theirs and have purchased high end appliances for two kitchens now... but I won't be going back again. When I called them they said they would look into it and call me back. As if they were going to ask the service tech if he damaged my kitchen as opposed to coming out and looking at it. After looking for a dishwasher for months and suffering both Home Depot's and Lowe's arrogance and lack of interest in good service a good friend recommended ABW. Breath of fresh air! I knew what I wanted, I asked for it and I received a quote for three different options. As I believe the appliances are great and the new showroom is awesome behind clothes doors they treat their employees like they are dirt. I have seen these in the last year that I have known one of the employees. I believe if the better business bureau got a call things might change to make this a better place. Please understand when you buy these products know that the employees that are helping you are almost working in the same situation as a sweat shop. The more you buy and bring to this company the less they pay their employees. So think first. read more

I shopped around and ABW had the best selection and prices for what we wanted. We ordered an entire kitchen worth and love it all, now 4 months later. Jose in the Rockville showroom was helpful, not pushy at all and I felt very honest. We wanted quality to last, not necessarily to impress. There was a delay in final shipment by a few weeks (which is a lot when trying to time a renovation with a young family), he made a few phone calls and we had our delivery in time. Excellent service. I recently rebuilt a home in Bethesda and within a year the gorgeous and brand new Thermador freezer broke. I tried contacting Thermador directly with absolutely no success. However, Josh and Pablo immediately addressed the situation and not only pushed Thermador to act, but got my freezer installed and worked around my schedule in order to do it. My 17 year old Miele dishwasher broke on the 9th of February. I went to the Ashburn location and Ian was very helpful and he had the Miele dishwasher in stock and they were able install the dishwasher within one week and they were able to retro fit my cabinet front to the dishwasher and the job came out beautifully.
