Tracy at the front desk was super helpful with check in and my questions about jewelry and what not. My one feedback and note would be to mention that visitors do have the option to "try-on" jewelry if they are torn between sizes or colors of jewelry because I think some newcomers wouldn't be aware they could do that if it's not mentioned. My friend asked to try a couple of jewel sizes and that was really helpful with decision making. (By try-on, you are just holding the jewelry piece up to yourself and checking yourself out in the mirror :P ) They offer titanium and gold jewelry here. Many beautiful pieces. They also sell saline spray (for $15 if I remember correctly) which I picked up since I was traveling and will be traveling again. Lacy pierced me and she was soooo amazing! She was really through with her explanations and I felt very comfortable with her. Everything went so smoothly and it was mostly painless - only a pinch in the process but no discomfort after the jewelry was already in. My friends and I left with super cute nostril piercings! Highly recommend this studio. Very grateful and happy with the experience here.

When leaving, i was asked for my information & to enroll in ur $5 off coupon which was at 8:16pm on 4/11/26. almost exactly two hours, not sure which manager looked into that but i did not randomly chose that number. Consultation - Tabitha asked via phone if i was given the option or made aware of threadless vs threaded jewelry, i was not nor was I given the option between the two. (Im assuming since you guys only carry threadless anyways.) Lacy said the piercings could get expensive when downsizing multiple sizes & when custom jewelry becomes a thing (she gave me an example of hers that have a wide flat back) which i understood. I was never told the jewelry on hand would be so flimsy or else i would have left with a spare set. or why wouldnt that be offered if its a known thing that theyre just going to break soon after? "our management team has reached out multiple times" - Tabitha called me on 4/20/26 at 2:03pm post yelp review & asking me to elaborate which i did. she apologized & said she would investigate & immediately followed up asking if i could "take down the yelp review" I initially agreed but im so glad i didnt. All that was asked of me was to pick a date & time & she will have someone replace the jewelry that broke at the el monte location but she would have to call me back & let me know if there was someone at that location who COULD do it & that she would call back. when she called back at 2:38pm 4/20/26 she stated ordering a threaded set would take 6-8 weeks & that she will order my downsize. we agreed on that solution & hungup. Then 4/28/26 Tabitha texts me & there was no solution so we could agree on so thanked her & left it at that (screenshots attached as well) "waived fees" - crazy cause you guys swear this is something special. when i get my nails done & one breaks theyre quick to fix it FOR FREE & not keep reminding me that breakage could happen nor badgering me that IM at fault for it/knew the risks. Theres no fee to waive if i want to put the jewelry in my own face for free which you guys denied me of because u didnt want to mail them to me. "we offered appointments at our other locations with free parking lots" - text attached of Tabithas convo but she definitely stated STREET parking, exactly how the LA location is so.. not sure where the "Convenience & Options" were. sorry it came to this Leo, maybe ask both sides next time instead of just listening to one.

Today, it has been 3 days since we got the tattoo and although the tattoo itself is small, has fine lines, and is on the wrist, it appears as if it has a smear/smudge on one of the corners on both tattoos. This isn't my first tattoo, and my husband and I have been following the after care and have been careful. It's on the healing stage, but you can tell that the corner line differs and there is a smudged area on both tattoos. For both these it was $240 total and done by Chris. I will update this review once the tattoos heal completely.

I was definitely giving toddler energy by kicking my feet and asking questions and she totally entertained every second of it. We talked about movies, tv shows, travel, music, etc. The conversation totally helped distract from the pain and before i knew it the session was over. I thought parking would be tough, but i went on a Saturday afternoon and found parking relatively easily a block away on Lake Shore Ave. The quality of work is top notch and my tattoo came out exactly as i wanted it to. Strongly recommend!

He explained the process and aftercare which made getting a tattoo seamless and less daunting. I was on the fence about getting a tattoo but my friend said if he got one I would have to get one too. I decided to get a runner with an ekg as I thought it was fitting for me. I wanted something small for my first tattoo and easily to keep hidden from my mom (sorry mom). He asked me to send him a picture of what I wanted and scheduled an appointment for Monday at 11am. Once Monday came I walked over and signed the consent form. He then printed out the tattoo and placed the outline on my chest and asked me if it was where I wanted it. Being a tattoo noob I trusted his judgement. After letting the outline dry I laid down and he began working on the piece. He said since it was a small tattoo and mainly lines there shouldn't be much pain and the healing process wouldn't be as long. It took about 30 mins to finish up the tattoo and the quality came out amazing. There was no pain at all and he went over the aftercare as well. I showed Sam this other tattoo I wanted and he said he would be able to do that as well. He says his art style is realism and anime so I can't wait to get more work done by him. He has been tattooing for 2 years now along with his apprenticeship. He told me to message him when I'm ready for my next piece. Maybe this tattoo thing is an addiction and will keep you coming back for more.

Virgin no more thanks to Sergio! My first tattoo but not my last with Abxtract Tattoo. I flew in from Kansas City just to have Sergio have his way with my arm and hand for an an abstract dragon tatoo. His design was perfect and the execution was flawless. He completed Five hours of work knowing I was flying back to KC and it had to get done. I will be honest as the first hours were a breeze - yes, it is a unique pain since you are purposely injuring your skin. But it didn't bother me much until that last hour when Sergio went back over the same areas completing the detail work. I was exhausted by the end but very pleased. He lubed me up and wrapped my arm like a breakfast burrito with aftercare instructions and some design ideas for tattoo #2 next year. I walked a block over to CVS to pick up the Aquaphor ointment and Bag Balm that the TSA said I couldn't take on the plane home. Three hours after the wrapping ceremony I removed it all and gently washed the tatted area and let it dry out overnight. No pain, no discomfort, very little swelling, and completely dry. The next morning I washed again with plain soap (okay it was that fancy eucalyptus soap at the Marriott, but for $200 a night I am using their damn soap and taking home the lotion) and rubbed in a thin layer of the Aquaphor ointment. That draws out some of the excess ink so have some paper towels available to dab or it work make a mess. By the end of day one after Sergio's work the tattoo looks great and is clean and dry. Again, no pain or itching. I will continue to gently wash and apply Aquaphor twice a day for a few weeks and go from there. Thank you Sergio for such excellent work. Everyone deserves their first time to be so gentle! And thanks Tim for being so entertaining. I hope you got the toilet unplugged without too much trouble. I will definitely be back soon. But only if the toilet is working again (actually the bathroom is very nice and bigger then most New York apartments). The shop is clean and the professionalism is top-notch. All in all a wonderful experience for me. read more

I got my tattoo from Tim in December, but I didn't want to post until it was all healed up. So, here it is now!! Tim was awesome. Great guy, great conversation, great taste in music and obviously a spectacular artist. He worked with me on the design and color, and I loved it even more than I could have expected. it covers some scars, and I was never judged or made to feel uncomfortable or awkward about them at all- and now you can't even see the scars! Sergio's tattoos are pure artwork (and his paintings are great too). I came to him through a recommendation of a friend and he was kind and patient even though the two tattoo ideas I wanted were extremely minimal. Though they were simple I knew delicate lines were crucial and Sergio was wonderfully precise and light, which is exactly what I was hoping for. I will happily go to him again. Meanwhile Jess was wonderfully responsive and got me in for an appointment quickly and smoothly. This was a very positive FIRST tattoo experience, I highly recommend. read more

I knew from the second I saw his work on her body, Shane was the one person who I wanted to do my first tattoo. This is something I have wanted for over 10 years, just waiting to find the right person to trust putting artwork on my body. Yesterday was my glorious day when i finally was able to meet Shane in person and talk about what I wanted and the ideas I was having about what kind of tattoo I wanted (which he patiently listened through ALL of my many ideas!!). :) His patience and attentiveness to everything I was telling him was remarkable and priceless to my comfort and trust in selecting him to meet my needs. In addition, I had also met with Pete who also works here previously on another visit to their shop in Venice. I want to just mention and commend Pete for being very genuine and straightforward with me when I had visited at that time, since I was not completely sure about the tattoo I wanted to get. Pete never pressured me or tried to sway me in any way whatsoever--again, very professional and much appreciated by me. Back to Shane and my experience with him as my 1st tattoo artist.... ....I am so thrilled and so satisfied about the beautiful outcome of his work, that I really can not put into words how wonderful my experience was yesterday! I had warned him how scared of needles I am, probably the biggest baby when it comes to seeing or even talking about anything involving a needle (yuck!!!). Shane's work was SO gentle that I honestly almost fell asleep as he was doing the tattoo!! (No joke here!!) The tattoo I got was on the back of my neck, so I was sitting in a chair with my head tilted forward (actually resting on my sweatshirt (since I am such a baby I thought I would need to cover my eyes). But I was so amazed that there was NO PAIN, and even more surprised that I was so comfortable and felt so at ease, that I was actually worried about falling asleep and having my head tip to the side or something while he was working on my tattoo. In summary, I want to express my gratitude to Shane and his staff for the way they made me feel and the quality of their work. I will be forever grateful, and after it was all over, I went outside and screamed "I got my first tattoo!!!" (which embarrassed my friend who had come by the shop to support me as I was getting my first tattoo). I fully recommend Shane as a tattoo artist, as well as Pete, too. (Note: I have not had any work done by Pete, but I did see the beautiful tattoo he did on some lady who was there when I came by the shop on my first visit, and she was equally loving of her first tattoo that Pete had just done on her on her back.) 10/10 WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. Gman is a scammer and hands down has the worst service with false…read moreadvertising. He used a cordless machine with little to no pressure being applied. When I asked about it, he said it was a 'new machine" and "better" results DO NOT GO HERE! I went in to get 3 tattoos, 2 of which were on my finger. A week after the initial tattoo, I started to notice the ink flaking off to reveal no tattoo. When I went back to get a touch up on day 11 of healing, he refused to do a touch up unless I paid $100. Mind you, the 3 tattoos were $120. When I showed him my unfinished tattoo/faded he said "I mean I think it looks good.. its there" He them dropped it down to $40 saying I have to pay for the equipment to be set up or else I couldn't get anything done. I inquired and asked why not considering the business card advertises "1 free touch up". He continued to refuse and said the card was made 5 years ago and its not his fault. When we contacted the owner Shane, he was 100% No help. Said it was up to the artist discretion. When we mentioned their business card and the free touch up, he continued to say that it was up to Gman since he was not in at the moment. I ultimately ended up paying the $40 bc the tattoo looked so bad. Gman continued to say it wasnt his fault, it looks good, not his fault my skin cant take ink, and even went on to say that finger tattoos are known to fade.... after 11 days... I have 3 other finger tattoos and have never had this issue. A tattoo should never be this painless. he simply applies 0 pressure to make the ink stick, forcing people to come pay for a 2nd round. The photos and video tell you all you need to know. This is 2 weeks after the 2nd touch up and its faded on my thumb and non existent on my middle finger. After looking into reviews while there, I noticed that Shane comes recommended but this seems to be an ongoing experience and done to a lot of women. Be very weary and go somewhere else. Ink monkey on Venice would never and they have great customer service. I will not be coming back.
