AC Hotel by Marriot Irvine is located in the complicated Park Place plaza located slightly south of the 405 at Jamboree. I recommend parking in the parking structure behind the LA Fitness Signature Club and getting validated. I actually worked in one of the nearby office building in the Park Place area for 5 and a half years. I remembered when AC Hotel first opened, my former coworkers and I would walk by during our break just to check it out. Specifically their bar area. Our visits were so quick, I never had the chance to write a review. Recently I was drinking down the street at the Tustin District area until the bars at the Union Market closed down. Apparently we weren't done drinking so a group of us found ourselves at AC Hotel since their bar stays open later... I am not sure about their hours, but they were open until at least 2am on the night we came by. We had a really large group and there were other hotel guests enjoying drinks at the bar, so I was thoroughly impressed by Luis handling the crowd. We were completely ordering off the menu and throwing out ingredients we would want in the drink and somehow Luis would be inspired to make a magical craft cocktail. My friend who took me here had the biggest drink-crush on Luis' drinks. I was honestly not the sober-est by the time I was at AC Hotel's bar, but I still remember the drink Luis made me. I THINK it was called a Banana Foster ... but I could totally be wrong. Let me describe it though!! Luis started out with a glass and a fancy large square ice cube with slices of bananas sprinkled with sugar and torched creme brulee style. Then he made a gloriousssss drink and I was handed a skewer to poke at the bananas as I enjoyed my drink. A bunch of strangers at the bar asked me what it was and I highly recommended it. It was one of those drinks where I felt like I was entertained with a show, enjoyed the taste and had an interactive effect with those banana brulee slices. I'm sure the AC Hotel is a lovely place to stay at, but even if you are a local, you can stop by and enjoy their bar! Their lobby is really elegant with conference rooms for business purposes, plenty of seating and outlets all around. And if I recall correctly, they have trivia nights here too. YES the rooms are new and the hotel is new and new is nice. At least it doesn't smell. But the cons are these: 1). When the AC unit comes on it sounds like a Black Hawk Helicopter is performing practice landings on top of this hotel. It's very loud & the low rumble vibrates everything in the room. Not Kidding ! 2). You've got a beautiful new hotel with attitudes from the personnel like the best western with holiday inn service. 3). There IS no service. You have to get and do everything yourself. Think you want to have someone deliver something to you ?? Think again. The pros: 1). It's new 2). They have a bar that you can have a cocktail IF you order food too 3). Parking is plentiful if you park in everybody else's parking lot but theirs ... lol ! That's a hint folks. Park further away and not affiliated with this hotel and save yourself some money. PS: The attitudes of the personnel here stinks. This is a nice modern boutique style hotel in Irvine along Michelson. It's a Marriott property so that was good. I usually book through Marriott and always wanted to see how the AC Hotels were. I came away with mostly positive feelings about our stay. The rooms are nice and modern. Hardwood/laminate floors are a nice modern touch but I think result in more sound being amplified than muffled. Let me explain... We were on the 5th floor so there was only 1 floor above us. I could hear the guests in the room upstairs. From their conversations (although not very clear to their music). That was not good especially when I was trying to take a power nap before dinner and when we were ready to turn in for bed. I have never experienced that at any Marriott property we have stayed in. And I've stayed at many of their hotel brands over the years. It was not a good look for my first time staying at this hotel. Other than the noise, the room was worth the money. Modern furnishings, comfortable bed, leather couch, modern bathroom (toilet was new style... ha!), small fridge with provided 2 bottles of water was a nice touch and 42" smart TV with built in Netflix or Hulu. We also liked the seating area by the tv. It added extra space and had backlit lighting that was nice. Overall, the modern lighting inside the room was nice and bright. There were plenty of light options and also plenty of outlets for charging & to plug the iron in. Iron was leaking when you added water to it. That was a bummer but didnt have time to call down for a replacement. The lobby was nice. Clean decor... The bar looked cool but we werent able to check it out. The business center looked more like someone's nicely decorated home office than a hotel one. There is a retail area across the way with some restaurants. I reserved a table at North Italia and we had a great dinner there Saturday night. The place gets super packed but it was nice to just walk across the street to head to dinner. They also have Houston, Ruth's Chris, The Counter, Mother's Market, Lady M cakes, etc. A definite postive when staying there. Parking was a little bit of a negative as we didnt want to pay $30 for valet parking when we were only gonna stay one night and not need the car to go to dinner. We opted to park in the garage which was still $20... Kind of steep IMO to park in a garage across the way from the hotel. Overall, a good stay but it had its moments where I thought it could be a little better and more accomodating. We werent able to check out the pool deck but our room overlooked it and North Italia. It was a decent view to wake up to and see before turning in. Front desk was friendly though there was a bit of a wait with a decent sized line of people waiting to check-in. read more

I literally confirmed this reservation 90 minutes before checking in; we left home after 9 pm and pulled in to the hotel's parking lot just after 11 pm. Before I start, let me just say that this could've been a five-star review were it not for the guy working the front desk when we arrived. But, I'll get to that in a minute. My husband and I already had a hotel in downtown Los Angeles that weekend, but that hotel wasn't able to add a night, so we decided to just find something closer than San Diego, and cheaper than a last-minute downtown LA hotel. The AC Hotel in Irvine was perfect, so I booked the room as we were heading out the door. For this trip, my husband rode my motorcycle north, while I followed in the car. It was evening, and we hit a couple of isolated rain showers on the way up, so by the time we got to the hotel, my husband was frozen solid. I pulled into the hotel's lot and took the only open "Parking for registration only" spots. My husband - on my Harley - pulled into the only other open space and dismounted. The valet came over to let us know that he had parked in a valet spot, but as there were no open registration spaces, he let us park there. Funny thing is, there were no other people in line waiting to check in, so I don't know why all the spaces were taken. Anyway, the guy at check-in. I offered my ID and credit card as requested, and we waited. He took a few minutes then confirmed the last name for the reservation. A few more minutes and some furious key typing later, he said he wasn't able to find the reservation. I told him I'd made it about 2 hours ago while unlocking my phone to get the confirmation number. He asked for the last name again (even though he had my ID and credit card on the counter in front of him), then went, "AH! They spelled your last name with only one m." My husband and I both said, "There IS only one m in our last name." And he stood there and argued with us. ABOUT THE SPELLING OF OUR OWN LAST NAME. We wasted a good 4 minutes going back and forth with this guy who couldn't admit that he was wrong and trying to pull up a reservation with the incorrect spelling. It went downhill from there. His "thank you for being a valued Marriott Rewards member" fell flat after that. He didn't explain WiFi, and when I asked about a parking pass and where the lot was located, he grudgingly gave one pass (I had to ask for a pass for the motorcycle, which he said, "Yeah, I guess I can do that for you.") and then told us the parking lot was "behind the LA Fitness", like I was supposed to know where that was. Thank God for the valet guy. He offered to let us keep the bike parked in the spot my husband took - he said we could angle the bike and park the car in front of it, so that it took only one spot, but we didn't want to take his valet parking space, and we weren't sure if it was going to rain again (we didn't want the Harley to sit in the rain, since we were giving it away the next morning.) The valet guy (I so wish I had gotten his name) insisted, but we had to refuse. He then succinctly answered my question as to where to go to park and wished us a great night as we walked back into the hotel with our bags in tow. The room was large, modern and clean. The bathroom was off to the left as you entered, with a hallway leading into the living space. Our room had a Queen bed, desk, couch with a coffee table and a bench. There was a closet on the right-hand side of the hallway, with a safe and extras, as well. We didn't have a great view - it's inside a business complex, after all - but it wasn't necessary for the less than 8 hours we were there. The room was quiet (except for the fact that what sounded like a bathroom vent never turned off), and the bed was comfortable for one night. The shower had great water pressure, and the provided a nice variety of toiletries. I did feel the shampoo and conditioner were a little too musky - too manly - for my taste, but it was free, so I didn't mind. On checkout the next morning, we weren't given a folio, so I didn't notice until we were sitting at our brunch table that they'd mistakenly charged us for valet; a quick phone call took care of that. Our overnight parking was validated after we checked out, which was nice. Overall, we were impressed by the room and 2/3 of the employees we encountered during our really brief stay. Honestly, I hadn't even heard of this brand before booking our room, but we'd definitely choose an AC Hotel in the future. read more

I would love to give AC Hotel by Marriott Irvine a 3-1/2 star but Yelp does not allow half star ratings. This hotel is less than 2 years old. Staff are super nice. Hotel & rooms are designed with a modern-look. No carpeting, but has laminated floor covering. No dressers with drawers. Small closet space for hanging a few pieces of clothing. Nice modern bathroom with a shower and no bathtub. No room service and only offers a breakfast buffet in the mornings. Valet parking costs $30 per night and self parking in the parking structure across the way costs $20 per night. Conveniently located near lots of restaurants and close to freeways access. The cons of staying here is that the walls and floors are "paper-thin". Heard the people above me walking around and heard everything that they dropped on the floor. Heard the people next door talking, their television, and their alarm clock. Heard people walking and running in the hallway, even when they were on the other end of the hallway. Then, there was the guest who had the room 3 doors down the hall and across from us, they had a dog that barked all 4 days of our stay. One time, we entered an elevator after a guest with 2 mid-sized dogs exited, the elevator had a sort of "dirty dog" odor. Don't really know what the policy is for pets, but I saw on the hotel information channel on their television, that pets are not allow except service dogs. read more

We love the AC. We have been here for two weeks due to the Tustin hangar fire & we are staying 2 more. Front desk is very friendly & accommodating. We love the beds and the hardwood floors. Linens are on point & beds so comfy we don't want to get out of them. Housekeeping is beyond efficient & immediately bring us whatever we need such as more towels. I wish we could get coffee downstairs but not avail, only a buffet breakfast for $21.95 which doesn't look appealing. Go to Panini across the street & get the family breakie for $24.99. It fed us for 2 days with left overs. We urge you to join the Marriott Bonvoy club as you get points & little perks. As for TV, it's only the local live channels & reg MSNBC. CNN. FOX lineup, no Netflix, Max, peacock or Hulu provided. We have a great view on the 5th floor of the sky where at sunset 100's of birds fly over. I suggest this is best Marriott around as we stayed at Courtyard & others too. AC ranges $170 to $250 depending on the day of the week. Also, this hotel is extremely quiet. She went down to Chaas the reservation cancellation fees were 295 comparing to their price 320. I spoke to the assistant manager the next day and he told me it totally makes sense the time she checked in and then she checked out and we should be able to refund you the money but the manager doesn't come until Friday so when I spoke to the manager on Friday. He had the worst attitude, and refused to refund claiming that she was in there for two hours, showered and used the bed which did not happen but that's the reason for him to not refund. read more

I can't say enough great things about this newer hotel. Someone had their thinking and common sense hat on when they designed this place. This hotel is what you want to see in a hotel. Firstly, this hotel is located in a phenomenal location. It's right off the 405 and Jamboree. It sits in a very upscale shopping center that contains some of the most successful businesses that you can walk out your door to including my favorites Mother's restaurant and health food supermarket, Panini Grill, and Houstons. There is also a CPK, Lemonade, Starcrooks, and so many more. No better location unless you need to be on the beach. Next, I LOVE that the rooms have hardwood floors! Carpet only lasts one guest stay, and then you are putting your feet in someone else's bodily fluids. You think a hotel shampoos the carpet after every guest? You are lucky if they shampoo once a year. Put your bare feet on hotel carpet and you are stepping in feces, urine, and other secretions. At this hotel they easily mop the laminate after ever stay and it's like new again! Genius! The lobby area of this business class hotel is very conducive to work. Laid out perfect. And best of all: Very few business structure designers have the noggin on their shoulders to install the famous no splatter urinals in the men's room. Take a look at my photo. These are the only type I will use. Why? Because all the others have the flatter incompetent design that splatters your urine and the residue of those than came before you on your pants and legs and shoes. These funnel urinals should be the law all over. No Splatter. Now this place is not suitable for children and pets so leave the rug rats and poop factory at home. But it's perfect for business and a couples romantic trip. The only thing that drove me crazy was the parking here. It's 20.00 a day!?!?!?! And there is nowhere to leave your car at the entrance during check in without surrendering your keys to the valet. Very tight awful parking situation. They do have an ample garage a bit aways, but you will pay big to use it. But it's those great high-class common sense urinals that earned them 5-stars. Let's replace all the Marriott urinals with them and make the world a cleaner healthier place! read more

my company booked this room and i am shocked that a marriott would run this poorly. there was no one at the front desk and after 10min of waiting someone casually was like, "oh you wanna check in?" i supposedly booked a balcony room (noticed another comment about lying what type of room was booked) i felt like i was in a cheap version of a european room with no bathroom and a claustrophobic shower that walked into the sink island... i asked to switch and they said they were fully booked, which is interesting since i just tried booking directly on their website for tonight and had no issues. in addition, the front desk clerk actually agreed how odd the room layout is. checking out the room further, there are lightbulbs that are out as well as several strands of men's hair in the shower including a pubic hair. SERIOUSLY?! not to mention how poorly the shower itself smelled. i called down to the front desk where again was told their sold out and i can check back around 10:30 to see if something opens up. i've stayed at marriott's all over the world and am shocked how this location is up to their standards esp in such an affluent area outside of unknown travelers who don't know better and its convenience. please beware and just stay somewhere else! read more

Upon arrival we were greeted by friendly front desk staff. As requested we were placed in a quiet room and other than doors slamming shut (which is probably due to their weight) we had a peaceful stay. We appreciated the wood veneer laminate flooring as the lack of carpet is excellent for my fiancée who has asthma. I also felt better about walking barefoot on the floors as I'm sure they're easier to keep clean than carpet. The clean lines and simplistic minimalist furnishings made the room feel very calming and relaxing. We enjoyed the lack of busy patterns and even the single painting of a simple skyline that kept the room uncluttered and relaxing. The spacious bathroom with ample counter space was nice. We enjoyed the rain and massage settings on the shower which felt great on shoulders sore from driving. At first I was skeptical of the towel rack in the shower but as it is far away enough to not get wet this turned out to be a nice convenience. No need to step out into the cold after a nice warm shower as the towel was already there! We enjoyed the complimentary decaf coffee and Tazo tea. The hot water / coffee maker was quiet and fast. We were disappointed that we could not watch the Anaheim Ducks hockey game on TV however we ended up listening to it on radio while sitting in front of the large window overlooking the cityscape and it was quite enjoyable. The room was clean however there was something in one of the beds' linens that made my eyes burn the first night. We slept in the other bed the second night with no issue. Perhaps not all of the soap or bleach was washed clean of the linens? Housekeeping was accommodating and when we asked for room service upon departing for an event it was complete when we arrived back at the hotel a few hours later which was nice. I've stayed at other hotels where room service was understaffed and was unable to wipe the shower, fix beds, etc within a two to three hour time window and we arrived back to a room that still needed service. It's a testament to this hotel's employees and management that they were able to deliver good service. Much appreciated. The lighting was good for reading and the large window provided so much natural light that we did not even need the lamps except in the evening. The temperature was comfortable enough that we only used the air conditioning for perhaps 10 minutes each day. Parking is $20 per day for self parking in the nearby parking structure which is a short walk from the hotel. Make sure to get your ticket from the parking entrance validated by the hotel front desk each time so that you only get charged by the hotel and not the hotel plus the parking structure. Valet is offered at $30 per day if you want to avoid the structure and the validations. The hotel is a short walk from Starbucks for morning coffee, North Italia for delicious brunch (weekends only) and amazing pizza and pasta made fresh daily, and other restaurants. It is also a short drive to Segerstrom Performing Arts Center which is why we stayed. We enjoyed a lovely performance of Dublin Irish Dance and were happy to have only an 8 minute or so drive to this hotel afterwards. The heated pool was nice and we enjoyed a quick swim despite the chill in the air. Be forewarned though it is a small pool and we only got about 5 or 6 strokes per lap so it's meant more for lounging than cardio. We would have used the gym but we enjoyed the peacefulness of our room so much that we spent most of our time reading and talking. I also enjoyed working on the crossword puzzle in the complimentary USA Today which I much prefer over the WSJ. We would have enjoyed eating breakfast on the property however it seemed a bit pricey and we had hoped it would either be included with the room or that there would be a room credit toward the cost of the breakfast alas no such credit was offered upon inquiry. Everything is modern, updated and the beds are so uncomfortable. 4. Location, location, location. Right across the street you have several restaurants, a supermarket, and cute little shops. 03.23.2018 Hubby and I had a chance to stay here for a quick getaway/staycation. The hotel is newer and the rooms were stylish, simple and modern. The maintenance employee and the front desk staff were quick, friendly and accommodating when trying to resolve our issue. The King room we were initially in had a separate bathroom with a door. The shower and toilet, as well as the sink was inside there. There was a sofa next to the bed. I'm. It sure if it was a sofa bed or not. We weren't in there long enough to find out. The Balcony room we were moved to had the sink in the room. The toilet was in a separate room with a door and the shower stall was separate and next to the toilet. I wasn't to keen on having the sink right there in the same room as the bed. It was an interesting concept. The closet space was combined with the valet area which held the coffee maker and condiments, iron, ironing board, safe and a small fridge. There were two complimentary bottles of water (we didn't see any signs that said otherwise) and two chilled glasses in the fridge. PARKING: Self parking $20/night or Valet $30/night (YIKES!!!) We had an issue with our TV and called down to the front desk. We explained to them that we were able to turn on the TV but the hotel promo ad just kept looping and playing over and over again. We couldn't change the channel or turn down the volume. They quickly sent a maintenance employee to try and fix the TV but he couldn't get it to work and even brought a new remote to try. No luck... TV didn't work. The front desk was able to change our room and gave us a balcony room because of the TV issue. It was a very nice gesture but in the end, the TV in our new room didn't work at all either. Our TV didn't work for us until the next morning, around 9:00 am. Sarah at the front desk mentioned she was going to try and refund the certificate we used because of the issues we were having. We were barely there for 30 minutes. Unfortunately they didn't, instead they refunded our $30 Valet parking charge. We received a $10 Credit as a gift for our Marriott Gold Membership status. The European breakfast buffet was $16.95/person with only a couple of egg dishes on the menu. We didn't eat there because Hubby couldn't eat anything substantial due to his food allergies. But everything looked yummy as I perused some cheeses, fruit, croissants, prosciutto, quiches. It could be a hotel to recommend to family and friends who want somewhere a little fancy. It looks fancy in the pictures, and it's a newly built hotel. The location was good for me, and I did not have a car so I liked that I could walk to food and such nearby (btw parking is $20 a day if your a guest). I liked that the interior of this hotel was clean looking, lots of nice wood flooring in the rooms and newer decor. The walls are paper thin, I was in a room located suspiciously close to the gym and swimming pool. I barely slept any of my stay there because the noise of children running in the hallways and people entering the gym/pool woke me up as early as 6am. I came here for rest and I did not get that. Wifi was not fast, I ended up skipping the Wifi all together because it was sluggishly slow and kept dropping me. Breakfast - essentially no business nearby serve breakfast (beside a Starbucks), I decided to pay $20 to do the hotel breakfast which was a very bad decision. The hotel breakfast was a buffet, a bunch of cold items and three hot items - two quiche and a weird sweet danish. Lots of carbs like Safeway bread for toasting, a few deli meats and sliced cheeses, the vibe is suppose to be "European" breakfast - but when you don't make your own homemade breads and you don't offer egg dishes its just crappy. It was a generally affordable hotel, however they nickel and dime you on little things like parking your car overnight, or basic breakfast. There is room for improvement here. read more

I travel excessively for work and, usually, rate hotels based on the basic amenities but the AC Hotel staff made this hotel feel like a luxury hotel. Noor and Kenny truly treat every guest as a gold/platinum/star guest. Caring and genuine hospitality is a rare find. To say this location is a gem is an understatement. Ask Noor for a smoky old fashion (10/10). The basic stuff: Spacious room with great natural lighting for conference calls. Quiet hidden spots to work in a cafe type setting. You can rent out or request a private 5 person conference room for business meetings. Spotless room with a modern vibe. Netflix and streaming services in hotel room. AC gets your room to a steady 55. Lots of ports to work from couch, desk or from bed. Snack/drink selection offered in the lobby and valet available. Restaurants walkable from this location and starbucks is across the street. I will never stay here again. Firstly I want to say the front desk guys are SO NICE AND SO HELPFUL. This review is for the room itself - It's the noisiest hotel I have ever stayed at. And I'm not talking about the airport or other guests. I'm talking about INSIDE the room. The AC is the loudest AC I have ever heard with a mega roar - so much I couldn't sleep with it on but it was too hot to turn it off- next the shower- super low water pressure- AND it screams the whole time you're using it. Serious a high pitched screech noise. So unpleasant- hotel is clean and has a nice pool and is close to shops and restaurants but the room itself is awful! Flat pillows on top of that. A great hotel to stay at in the Los Angeles area if you are not trying to be near the city. Very clean, modern and spacious rooms. Parking is located at the parking garage and when you check in they will give you a sign to put on your car. When you go in and out of the parking garage you just press the help button and they will open it for you. There's a bar downstairs and a very very small little shop where you can basically get water and small snacks. Outside the hotel there are restaurants that are walking distance if you don't feel like driving to eat. I would stay here again. read more

I don't like to leave bad reviews but our experience was so awful that I have to. My family and I came down to Orange County for a quick trip. We requested a pack and play for our toddler online but it wasn't in our room when we got there. That wasn't a big deal so I called down to the front desk to ask them to send one up. An hour later we still haven't received the pack and play. We left for an appointment and I mentioned to the front desk person to please send the item to our room. Four hours later we get there and still no pack and play. I kindly call again for a pack and play but an hour goes by with nothing arriving. I call down again because it's late and our children have to go to bed. I ask them another time and they say they will have something up quickly. Half an hour goes by and they send up a broken dirty pack and play. The crib was literally broken and they are still using it in the hotel. If anything that's just a hazard for a family that's not paying attention and putting their children in it. Not only that but we open up the sofa bed and there's barbecue chips all over the sheets. This isn't a cheap hotel and the bed was filthy. I call and ask for the manager. We've stayed at a lot of Marriott's and have never encountered this kind of service. I let him know about the broken pack and play and the dirty bed. He apologizes and says that's unacceptable. He said they will send up another pack and play to our room. Finally 10 minutes later one arrives and they send up clean sheets for the pull out bed. We had to clean the dirty sheets ourselves. Why even stay at a hotel? The manager said he would refund our stay because we did use points as Marriott members to stay here. We didn't request a refund but he said they would do that. Weeks go by with no refund to our points. Last week I called the hotel and they said they would get that done. Nothing ever happened. False promises, a broken pack and play, and dirty beds. This is what will happen if you stay here. Avoid this place at all costs. Honestly it makes me question even staying at Marriott's. They are dishonest and don't care about their customers. read more

I honestly haven't gone anywhere since covid-19 first started but needed to be in town for a family emergency. I've stayed in this hotel multiple times in the past and have had great experiences (super clean, convenient enough location, friendly staff), so I decided to book the same familiar hotel....not the best decision. It's like covid came and took the customer service and everything I liked about AC hotel with it! Our room was not clean. The floors were dirty, sink was dirty and actually had someone's FOOD DEBRIS in it. When we turned on the TV, someone else's name was on the screen (I assume they mixed us up?). The staff were not friendly or helpful. I only used this hotel to sleep as most of my time was spent with family, but so disappointed to see how much it has declined since previous years. When we arrived in our room, the sheets were visibly dirty, so we asked to have them replaced. The housekeeping staff came into the room and tossed the 'clean' bedsheets onto our luggage (which had been dragged through airports and new york streets and was probably less clean than the bedsheets we were asking them to replace). They put the pillows on the wheels of our luggage and back onto the bed for us to sleep on. If that's what they do in front of you, I certainly don't trust them when I'm not around. We wound up dousing the sheets with hand sanitizer. After this, I called the front desk about it and the man I spoke to tried to rush the call before hanging up on me. I then spoke to Marriott customer support about how increasingly frustrating this all was and they said the manager would be in touch. Two days later I heard from the manager. He offered to have our room cleaned and I pointed out that we didn't much trust the housekeeping staff after the last time. He then offered us a glass of wine, which we also declined. He said he'd be in touch again, but we never did hear from him again. Not much to say, besides that it was a bad experience with bad customer service where we wished we'd had the time to switch hotels on day one, but it just wasn't feasible. read more

Had an awesome time tonight at the bar. Got there a little before closing and Ester took super good care of us. She's a professional bartender and knows how to give great customer service. Really thankful she accommodated us after a long stressful night at work. Got some Wild Ruby drinks. We all had 2 rounds. Very refreshing and just the right amount of alcohol and fruit. Ester knew the menu and other drinks we are going to try in the future. We really like this bar. Prices are very reasonable for Irvine. Very clean and spacious inside as well. We like the vibe, hipness and cleanliness of the bar and hotel. Very modern and sleek hotel and bar. Definitely recommend coming here if you wanna just chill and grab a drink. read more

This is the second time we have stayed here in 3 months and both times have been a disappointment. Management is completely lacking. The restaurant for breakfast is either out of milk and/or the Nespresso coffee maker is broken. What they call a buffet for $23 is a complete crime. How do you have a breakfast restaurant with no milk with a market across the street? We had a fire alarm go off around midnight and NO ONE on the staff knew what to do. We were on the 6th floor and it was frightening. What if there had been a real fire? They had to call in help since NO employee on site had any idea what to do. It is in a great location with management and staff that do not care about customer service. They let you come and get your own towels & supplies at the front desk. We were promised by the manager Elizabeth who was on duty that she would take care of us but that never happened. Phil who was some sort of manger was rude and did nothing to help us or to follow through with our room issues. I waited on hold trying to call him back so long I gave up. This is now day 3 of having a problem with a light in our bathroom. I called down at 10 PM and spoke with Norman who said no one is here to help and no one here knows if engineering did anything today to fix the light. Norman said he was the only staff person at the hotel except the valets. Just hope there is no emergency with Norman in charge like the night of the Fire Alarm, Parking is outrageous and even Disabled parking is blocks away unless you pay the $25 fee. Internet is slow and unreliable even if you upgrade to "enhanced" I believe Bonvoy is using this as a training hotel and not doing very much training. I tried staying here twice and I will not try here again. I am sure there will be some response from "Management" with an apology for our problems and a promise to do better. Bonvoy needs to know that their change in Management for our stay has been extraordinarily HORRIBLE. You have taken a Bonvoy product that could be EXCELLENT and ruined it. Elizabeth, the "new" General Manager, shame on you for wasting our time and saying you would be of assistance, give us your card and then NEVER during our stay did you or any other "manager" reach out to us. read more

When I started reading Yelp reviews I was a little weary but come to say this is now one of my favorite hotels! The staff was amazing, my boyfriend and I only stayed for one night. It was very clean and quite, this is the definition of modern. I was worried the room would be tiny since the doors are so close to each other but it's a great size. We stayed in the 1 king bedroom which had a little sofa and wood floors which I'd take any day over carpet. Highly recommend and will be coming back here!! read more

We stayed for 2 nights for a wedding. We requested help with setting the mini fridge and was told someone would come- no one ever did. We needed new towels on the second day and housekeeping didn't come until around 3 when we needed the space to get ready. The front desk told us earlier that morning that they didn't have towels. We were never given our welcome bag that the bride had made with instructions for the weekend. The front desk didn't know where they were or what happened to ours when the bride herself asked for them. It was just ok. The jury is still out on whether or not we would return. Our floor was pretty loud at all hours of the day/night and we had hair leftover from the previous guests on our bathroom shower. DATE OF STAY: July 4th weekend 2021 FLOOR/ROOM: 2nd floor (about 5 rooms down from the elevators); the floor with the fitness center and pool NOISE: The noise woke me up out of my sleep on Friday night at about midnight. We unfortunately, were next to a room of girls that were friends with girls staying across the hallway. So, they were walking back-and-forth and the sound of the doors opening and shutting is rather loud, plus the voices just carried. The second night, I thought was better, except my husband woke up this night - I think with the fitness center and pool on our floor, there was just a large amount of activity on our floor. We were not that close to the pool, so I thought it would be ok, but I if you want to sleep, I suggest trying a different floor. Note: it was also a holiday weekend, so maybe busier than normal CLEANING: As above, there were a few hairs stuck to the wall of the shower when we first entered, and was still there after 2 nights (I do recognize that there is not "deep cleaning" between night for the same guests staying, but still gross. Everything else seemed to be pretty clean LIGHTING: I will agree with another review written that the lights in this place are PRETTY dim. Especially in certain parts of the room it was not great. REFRIGERATOR: They had a fridge/freezer combo that looked fancy but didn't really keep things all that cool. It was cool enough, but the ice packs I brought were not ice packs by the time we left. This could possibly be user error and as we only stayed 2 nights and didn't spend much time in the room, I didn't follow-up with instructions. ICE MACHINE: Never had enough ice. We tried twice during our stay and the first time it produced NO ice, the second time I got enough for maybe a 4 oz bottle. It is also a crushed ice machine and for us traveling back to Arizona this was a bit of a disadvantage. Also, the spout of the ice machine had some type of dark substance on it that was there for the less than 48 hours that we were at the hotel PARKING: minimal parking available outside of the hotel, with additional overflowing to the parking garage. The garage is not a long walk per say, but it's not exactly tailored/laid out for easy navigation back to the hotel. The stair way we took down (closest to the hotel) leads to the side walk that is covered in bushes. PROXIMITY TO STORES: The proximity to other places is a saving grace for this place with several fancy restaurants within walking distance: Houston's and Ruth Chris' Steak House. Starbucks is also a walking distance along with a market. OVERALL:Due to it being a holiday weekend and somewhat on the heels of COVID-19, I will chalk it up to a busy holiday weekend and hope that staying on a different floor would have made our experience different. Overall, the place was clean except for the hair in our shower and the spot on the ice machine. I would possibly stay here again, but might look elsewhere before returning. This hotel is great! It's right off the 405 freeway and within decent driving distance to/from Fashion Island and South Coast Plaza - great shopping centers for some retail therapy. Rates are reasonable for what you get out of this hotel. However, valet parking with unlimited in/out access to your car is $30/night, but totally worth it since self-parking is a good walk away and only ten bucks cheaper. AC Hotel by Marriott is fairly new, opened in early 2017 so you can tell when you walk onto the property it still feels fresh, looks super clean and the décor is modern. Their staff is always friendly, rooms are nice, spacious and clean so you can't go wrong staying here. They have ice dispensers at the end of the room floor hallways that provides free pellet-sized ice and complimentary bottled water in the fridge in your room to keep you hydrated. There's also a Puesto restaurant on the street side of this hotel - a great dining option if you want to walk over and not drive anywhere. North Italia, Ruth's Chris and Lemonade are across the street along with a Mother's Market, so if you're without a car, you have dining options within walking distance. We travel up to the OC every so often to switch up the scenery of living in San Diego. Whenever we decide to stay overnight, it's an easy decision to book a room at AC Hotel since it checked all the simple 'must have' boxes off my travel list. read more

It's my first time staying here and was curious .. So let's start with the positives - The location is near shops, restos in Irvine . That's pretty much it - Negatives - Parking - the check in agent did not even ask if we drove or not - Customer Service Check in- thanking us being a member and explain if it's our first meeting time there etc what to do there etc. Front Desk - really ? Calling the front is hard - no one is picking up the phone - Membership perk - not really . I have a good status but you can't use it like for higher floors - just the WiFi - Clean Rooms - no not really .i typically would see it's just sanitized and you can even smell it sanitized - nothing like that .
