First time here. Not a lot of options in a "Build your own" acai bowls. I guess you can buy a preset bowl and add in more toppings, which I believe is not included. Looked to see their toppings in their display and not much variety but the basics. I personally like build your own with unlimited toppings, at no extra charge, shops. My daughter and I fell in love with Acai bowls about a year ago. We have been going to a spot close by in Yorba Linda. A good friend of mine treated me to the Acai Republic Madly Mango bowl and to my surprise, it was better than our normal spot. Well, the 2 bites that I was allowed before my 9 year old did a "sneak attack" and ate the whole thing lol... THEN, had the nerve to ask for another bowl! Well, my little thief got her wish two days later and it would appear that we now have a new favorite spot. The Madly Mango isn't too sweet, the mango and pineapples compliment the acai perfectly. We add extra coconut shavings because who doesn't love coconut! You are given the choice of honey or agave... we had it with agave and it was delish! The small bowl is pretty filling for one person. Açaí Republic is an impressive little shop right on the corner of Bradford in a very large, busy shopping center. There are a couple of bistro tables for outdoor seating, and limited indoor tables are available as well. I have to admit, I was annoyed by the fact that I couldn't customize my bowl. All I wanted was to add some chia pudding to my pitaya bowl, and it was a hard no, we don't do that. What you see on the menu is what you get, although omissions and additions are available. That being said, I ordered the medium pitaya bowl (9.75) and added goji berries for $0.99. It was so fresh and tasty that my irritation quickly subsided. My daughter ordered the Hawaiian Bowl and said it was one of her all-time-favorites. It was kinda pricey - $22 and change for 2 medium bowls, but there is a 10% discount offered for mobile orders. It's a hit or miss depending on who is working. The açaí base is really good, but the toppings can also be a hit or miss. the last time I went, I asked for peanut butter mixed in with the base, it came as a topping on top of the açaí bowl. Sometimes the fruit is perfect, and other times they aren't great. I usually don't mind and can mix the açaí bowl myself, but now with the raising prices, I mind haha. I was here this Monday night ,minutes to closing time, and I could tell they were very busy and wasn't sure if I would be welcomed to order or be told to leave or be given a "look" for walking in so late. BUT that was not the case! I was greeted by the two employees and purchased a very deliciously made bowl. I didn't catch their names but am very appreciative of them. I hate to do it, but the last two times I've been less than impressed with the performance of this location. I am a weekly customer and the time before this May 31st or June 2nd the Acai was meaty like today. Not only that the placement of Cacao nibs on top were less than appetizing as they were on top not the bottom. Today the Acai was also melty. But, that wasn't the most frustrating part. I asked for no coconut and it was swarming in coconut. I though I could deal with it as it was probably just in top but as I tried to bypass it I was annoyed and couldn't even eat it! I went to this location because Yorba Linda isn't linked up to Five Star and regretted everything-the waste of gas to drive out of my way, money and excitement I had for topping Tuesday.
