I hate having to write this as this was one of our favorite Mexican restaurants. Took forever to be seated. Four people (2 adults & 2 teens) in our group but we're given only two menus. My stepson ordered a Sprite was given lemonade. Waiter seemed put off to be working. Two meals were brought out together, then another several minutes later & lastly the fourth meal was brought out after we were finished eating the first two meals. Slopping plating & food was pretty much thrown down. The first two meals brought out were hot & cooked properly but the other two, which were burritos, were terrible. Over cooked meat -burnt chorizo, tough chicken and steak. So very sad as this used to be our "go to" for Mexican. Perhaps they were having a bad night but tough to go back when paying $60 for really bad food. read more

Good Mexican restaurant. Similar to many others but with a more varied menu. Fresh entree selections and very good dips and salsa. We had several chicken entree selections, queso dip and drinks, all were very good and reasonably priced. Service was fine. read more

Never has 2-stars been more appropriate 2-stars in the land of Yelp ratings means "Meh. I've experienced better". I think this is my first review where that could not be more appropriate. In fact, my half-Jewish girlfriend even said as much, "meh" (shoulder shrug included). For those of us from the land of Texas (or a "whole 'nother country as the tag line goes), Acapulco has a promising start to a Mexican/Tex-Mex joint; it's a non-discript place in the middle of a strip mall. As any good Texan can assure you, that's usually where you get the best Mexican food; run down looking places where grandma is in the back still cooking the goods herself, while the rest of the family is involved in every aspect of the business. So I had high hopes. Those were dashed pretty quickly. The beer selection was pretty standard for such a joint: Miller Lite, Budweiser, Bud Light, Dos Equis, Negro Modelo, etc. I chose the Negro Modelo, as i usually do. Salsa and chips arrived immediately. The salsa was as bland as cardboard. (And yes, as I stupid kid, I once tried to eat cardboard. Don't ask!) The service was solid. The food came out quickly (another standard for Mexican restaurants--and no, I'm not stereotyping a culture!). However, that was pretty standard and relatively bland as well. I did clean my two platters, but that was more a product of me having skipped lunch while I chased my 3-year-old daughter around the park all day, than me enjoying the food enough to scarf it like a hungry cheetah. But the problem with Acapulco is that nothing stood out. Service was fine. Food was alright. Beer was unspectacular. Yet, nothing was a complete disaster. Everything was wrong that we ordered we got everything chicken but everything came with beef and no chicken it was all over cooked and nasty very hard and burnt. Never again. The receipt tapped to the bag even says double check items for correct items so why was all of it wrong! The receipt was correct but food was wrong.! read more

Acapulco is a pretty standard Mexican restaurant with tasty food. I was there at lunch time, and it was pretty crowded. The service was a little on the slow side, but all the wait staff was pretty friendly. I had the taco salad which was delicious. read more

I've been there already often for lunch and decided to publish a review. I've tried several Burritos but always came back to the "Chicken Fajita" and decided not to make any further experiments. The portion of the chicken fajita has a good size and is perfect for "hungry" days. You get 3 Tortillas and fried meat with rice, salad, guacamole and sour cream. We've been here a handful of times over the years and I decided to stop in for lunch this past Friday. Stopped in about 2:30 pm and there were 3-4 other tables. Seat yourself - one guy was sitting at the register and 3-4 others were wandering around (expeditors, waiters, bus boys? ) Someone finally brought a menu and then disappeared - took forever to finally have a waiter come to take an order - lunch came and it was meh - never did receive a check and finally had to go up to the register to pay. Love it here. The food comes out fast and is delicious. The staff are all friendly. They also do call in, pick up orders which is nice.

This place is delicious. Years ago, I'd only get carryout because the Staffs English annoyed me. They must have gotten Rosetta Stone because it's a 10 fold improvement. The food is exceptional in taste. Portions are fair and hot. Prices are decent. I always get the burger. They use an Angus I believe. It's cooked in a manner thats unique. If it's a food warehouse burger, it's got a unique delicious character. I prefer it over Ricks now. The Restaraunt is very clean and colorful. In typical Mexican Restaurant fashion it's done with every pastel color in the crayon box. T.v.s sound is off, usually sports. They play the you have no clue what there saying but the rhythm is upbeat music. Pros- Price. Quality of food. Portion size. Cleanliness. Huge parking lot, situated in a way even if it's packed there no huge walk. Speed and quality of service. Cons- I dont understand the words to the music. No outdoor seats. Note: I think they have a banquet style room. I've never seen it opened, but if I'm not mistaken theres a room in the back that could be for large groups. read more

I dined there are September 3, 2018 and have been going there for over twelve years BUT NEVER EVER AGAIN! If I could give minus stars I would. I wish I would have health services rush over the next morning to possible save someone for going through what happened to me. I was way too sick to handle. I immediately sense something was very wrong in the place, the atmosphere was so different than all many other times hubby and I ate there. After waiting for awhile, I wanted to leave but hubby wanted to stay and have his shrimp dish. The place was not busy at the present time, which is unusual. The waiters ignored us, (never happened before).... I finally went the cashier and talked with him and carefully explained we were being ignored (waiters were standing around chatting). A waiter was sent over to take our order (he was borderline rude), in the past he has waited on us many many times (always treated us as mom and pop, we're 80)...but refused to recognize us on this occasion. I knew now for sure now that something was terrible wrong. After he took our order he disappeared....after waiting way too long, another waiter brought our meals of which one meal was almost cold and the other hot. As a PAST FAN of this place, I thought and thought; what was the reasoning behind the troubled place? It was the side dish that poison me. It had a taste that stayed with me for hours after wrenching all night.....I hate thinking of the possibility of it was purposely done to me for seeking help from the cashier to get waited on? Over the past 3 years, two of my dear friends have gotten food poisoning from there. Wish I had taken their advice. Thank you for reading. So disappointed!!!! I have wanted to eat here for a long time and finally did tonight. The restaurant was dirty - especially the bathroom. After we sat down - they served us chips and salsa - the chips were cold and very greasy and chewy and it tasted like the salsa was watered down. What I really wanted to try was the margaritas that I have heard so much about. I got a large frozen one and I couldn't tell there was any alcohol in it - usually after a drink that size I really feel it - I felt nothing and sure couldn't taste any alcohol. My chicken burrito was cold. I can't think of one good thing about this meal. I use to work in a restaurant so I am very tolerant when eating out - but this was a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT. read more

I have visited this location twice over the last few years and good experience both times. My friends love the medium and large margaritas and the free chips and salsa are a great bonus! This is by far my favorite mexican restaurant in the Cincinnati area. It's budget friendly, good service, and great food. To start off with, you have an endless basket of chips and salsa, and the salsa is AMAZING. I always get the quesadilla de fajita. It's basically a chicken quesadilla smothered in gooey white cheese sauce with grilled onions peppers and tomatoes. It comes with lettuce, sour cream, and guac on the side (I skip the guac). Don't mind paying for great margaritas and food but this I not that place. $20 for 2 Margaritas and don't think they had any alcohol in them. Salsa like ketchup. Fairfield and Cincinnati in general seems littered with Mexican restaurants but we always seem to come back to this one. Although it's ALWAYS busy, there's rarely ever a wait to sit. You're immediately served chips with two different types of salsa (which is great for us because my husband prefers a more chunky, onioney salsa while I prefer a more salty/spicy salsa). They have a full bar and while I always order a margarita, it's not the best I've ever had (but they usually have some kind of deal on them and even the smallest is HUGE for the price and not at all watered down). I've tried almost everything on the menu and while I don't recommend everything (the taco salad and the tamales being among my least favorite) there's PLENTY if delicious food to order. My husbands favorite being the super fajita (steak chicken shrimp onion mushroom and pineapple- large portion that he can never finish an he's a big guy for $13) and mine is the burrito California (Shrimp chicken steak chorizo queso onions beans and pineapple - I usually save half for lunch the next day - $9) DELICIOUS! Although there are some downfalls of this establishment, OVERALL, definitely can't go wrong here :) Certainly one of the best in the Fairfield/Hamilton/West Chester area. read more
