I go to Kalei to get my eyebrows waxed about 6 times a year, and I have got to say, she is definitely one-of-a-kind and a ray of sunshine. I am not the most sociable person, but talking to her is like talking to my best friend. She is really one of the few who takes a deep interest in your life and will remember the things you've mentioned in the conversation from the last session. She goes the extra mile to make sure you're doing okay even outside of work. She needs to get a job in counseling/therapy because, girl, you're so good at giving advice to someone who needs a lending ear! I don't know what it is about Kalei, but we need to protect her at all cost. Not only is she GREAT at the work she does on my eyebrows, she is the most humblest, open-minded person I've ever came across in my entire life.. a really rare piece of jewel! After my long-time esthetician retired, I was in dire need of an eyebrow fix. Based on the reviews, I figured that Kim probably wouldn't be available for new clients, but she did respond to my message quickly and had Kalei contact me. Kalei was great with the communication and got me in for a visit to deal with my brows. The parking lot had plenty of room and I had no trouble finding the salon with Kalei's great instructions. She made sure I understood how she would shape my brows and meticulously sculpted them until she was happy with how they looked. She even put on some mineral powder and brow filler after the shaping. (I don't normally put on makeup for my brows, so it was interesting to see how they looked with the fullness of the filler.) Kalei was extremely friendly and professional. I've been coming to Kim since 2006! I first met her at Paul Brown because I really needed to get my brows done. So I figured you get what you pay for right?! I told the receptionist to pair me up with someone that is highly recommended. When I moved back home, I of course lost touch with her, and when I moved back, I needed to link up with her again, and I had the hardest time locating her because she had gone on her own. BUT thank goodness for FB I found her. Kim is amazing and super sweet, she interacts with her clients and gets to know them. She has a great memory, we always pick up where we left off when we conversate as shes doing my brows and don't have that awkward silence. Her new location is located off of King St. in the building right next to Panda Express. Parking is available, but sometimes it might be full. So you might have to park on the street (if available) but for the most part you are able to park there. She is in the same building as Yakiniku Seoul, Suite 303. Her studio is cute & cozy, and not over the top fancy. She also has a brow punch card, after every 10 you get $10 off your next brow waxing. I've went to too many nail salons to get my brows waxed and they have truly ruined my brows :( I decided to grow out my brows and looked like Bert from Sesame Street for 2 months and decided to Yelp a good brow person. I read that Kimberly was not taking any new clients so I messaged her for a referral and she gave me the number for her associate Kalei, who also works out of Accentuate Salon. I am on acne medication that prohibits me from getting waxed and I have tried different threaders on the island with mixed results. Kalei did my eyebrows by tweezing only and they came out so well. She was extremely gentle and took her time to shape my eyebrows. I expressed my concern for the few bald spots in my brow due to years of over waxing when I was younger and she made sure to leave them so that I could continue to try to grow them out. She even filled my eyebrows in for me with powder at the end. I literally came in to the salon with no hope that I would ever have decent looking eyebrows again. I left with them looking better than I could have possibly imagined. I am so lucky to have found Kalei and cannot say enough positive things about her. It's hard to find someone you can trust with your eyebrows, but no matter what your eyebrows look like when you go in to see her, they'll look awesome after she's done with them. I don't let anyone touch them, including myself, except Kim. I always get complimented on my eyebrows. It's something really small that makes a really big difference. Everyone who I've referred to Kim has since converted and not seen anyone else for their eyebrows. GO TO KIM for your brows! I cannot express my love for her enough! First off, she knows brows...I came to her with such over plucked and over waxed brows that they were a mess. Kim took a few sessions to grow them back to a full, pretty brow. She has found the shape that's perfect for me after many, many people couldn't. Now they look AMAZING!!!
