I have several issues with this office. If it was just one or two things, I would chalk it up to human error. But I'm done with their nonsense and disorganization. I really tried to like this dental office until the "office manager" (wife of Dr Bradley Wilcox) submitted a duplicate charge to my insurance because of HER error. She took X-rays for an implant but somehow "the lab lost them". She didn't let me know until I called asking how long it is going to take to get my "guide" for my implant. I received phone calls about me owing money and was asked to pay upon signing in for my next appointment. It wasn't until I confronted "Maria, the wife" that she said "Oh no. I'll remove that charge". The point is, I only am allowed so much in dental benefits per year. It's not ethical if you are submitting claims that aren't valid. Next is my implant which is probably the worse case my new dentist has ever seen. Dr Wilcox is using implant posts that my new dental office hasn't seen since 1980!!! Even the other Dentists and lab across the hall were shocked. I'm so upset because he charged $1900 for a post that is barely used in today's modern offices! When my new Dental office called Dr Wilcox's office, they were wanting some sort of numbers showing what post was used. My new office said they keep records of everything. Dr Wilcox's office said they don't keep that info. The girl at my new office said "I can't believe how unorganized they are. We have to log in every single number for the implants we use". My new Dentist is having to modify the post Dr Wilcox put in. I'm furious at what he did to me. I was in the chair and the assistant said they had time to finish my implant by making the crown while I was there. I sat in the chair waiting and waiting. Then Dr Wilcox walked by and told her he couldn't do it. He never said a thing to me. He just walked by quickly and that was it. Now I know why. Because my post was so unbelievably old that he probably didn't have the correct instrument to seat the crown. My new Dentist actually called from Dentist to Dentist asking if anyone had a particular tool that they may have in their archives from the 1980's!!! Most laughed and said "Are you serious? Someone is actually using that post!!" With all of the great Dentists out there, I would avoid this office and Dr Bradley Wilcox. I want my money back! I feel so violated by this Dentist! read more

I am such a fan of this office. My kids have been coming here for a few years and they are so well take care of. They even make sure I get their appointments scheduled at the same time. I was going to a different dentist and I finally started wondering why. The old place was always pushing and trying to up sell special products and services. It was exhausting. important to know read on...this is on both my son and me. son saw him for cleaning with his ins zero cavities this for a cleaning and they said saw a spot come back in 2 weeks to check again, they call canceled and reset for today , would not see him , i call they say oh we dont take this ins out of network i remindeed them they just saw him 2 week ago etc called ins they are in network but made error leaving npn number off so didnt pay for cleaning told them to resubmit she hung up on me now we are scared is it cancer on his tongue\? why couldnt he he check it?? never told him not to come no care about other peoples time and besides being rude and cold if you are plain and conservative like him hes rude and doesn't care he kept talking about my hair made me very uncomfortable and he convinced me to get 5 crowns at once im a senior too, no big deal he said , i trusted him (this was before my sons situation).took 8 hours!! had to redo 2 crowns he just put on laughed and said he made a mistake it was like i was being tortured i was so sore for days still sore now months later it hurt to floss there is still cement stuck on one tooth and i cant drink cold water anymore i went back to tell him about along with pain shruffed off like im a bother theres nothing wrong you are just too sensitive never did fix i have to go to another dentist now very unprofessional im very upset leaving my son hanging like that. he is human? cold rude very unprofessional and NOT SKILLED WITH CROWNS WATCH OUT! In moving from CA to AZ, I was looking for a new dentist and went to see Dr. Austin. I felt that everyone at the office was efficient and helpful. They have state of the art equipment and even took photographs of my smile and teeth from different views! They are very thorough:) My cleaning was done quickly and without pain. I am 72 years old and have been to many dentists in those years. My appoin with Dr. Wilcox was the worst experience I have ever had in a dental chair. Both the dentist and assistant were very aggressive and certainly did not care about my discomfort. I spent 5 hours and 15 minutes in that chair. That is ridiculous!! I was still in pain after 2 weeks so I went to another dentist to correct the damage Wilcox did. I would not recommend this office!!! read more

Both of the Dr Wilcox are excellent dentists. I required a repair to a previous filling (not theirs), done perfectly. Even looking at the location no anesthesia was needed. Repair has held for a few years so far without any issues. Every exam done well, cleanings are done well, no extra work is done and all questions answered without any sales pitch. They also are in the Naval Reserve providing dental support to servicemembers, which is a burden on their end also. read more

"Reuben" called me saying I owe a bill from 1.5 years ago, and he is sending me to collections and threatening me if I don't pay. He said he's been sending me bills since then. I've never received 1!! I said my mail is forwarded from my previous address and I've never gotten one. MY 4 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WAS COVERED UNDER AHCCCS!!! You clowns can't even spell her name right!!! That's how I know this bill is fraudulent!! Oddly, I get a bill forwarded from my old address from a year ago, a few days after I talk to him. He sends me the most illegitimate bill I've ever seen. Not even the original bill, just a bill referencing an old bill that I NEVER GOT!!!! (BUT WAS COVERED UNDER INSURANCE TO BEGIN WITH)!! I don't know who Reuben is, but if he wants to ruin this guys dental career over $100, then go for it! If I see this bill in collections, I'M SUING YOUR ASSESS!!! read more

I went here a few times due to a change in my Dental Insurance; what a huge mistake. My initial concerns were it was very difficult to get an appointment in a reasonable time frame....we are talking several, several weeks out. Additionally, appointments for cleanings and exams are separate which is very inconvenient. Lastly, they will not schedule a family all together, so you have to go on different dates, not practical for a busy family. Oh, and they more often than not, weren't running on time once you did get there. My most significant concerns however, involve the actual experience of the exam and any resulting work that needs to be done. My children were the first with cavities and when the oldest told me he could feel the entire procedure and wasn't sufficiently 'numb', I thought maybe he was being overly dramatic. However, then my youngest had a cavity and Dr. Pham gave him 3 shots and still didn't get them right. Had I not switched back to my original dentist, Dr. Lagers, I doubt I could get my youngest back in a dental office. And yes, I too had one cavity filled there, and although my experience wasn't as awful as my sons', either I wasn't sufficiently 'numbed' or he just has a very heavy hand. On a positive note, the women who have done my cleanings have always been pleasant, as has the front office. read more

Accucare was a great experience with precise work. I do not like going to the dentist but Dr. Wilcox was very thorough and explained everything in detail that needed to be done. They were also flexible with the pay schedule. I highly recommend this practice. read more

I chipped a tooth and scheduled an appointment with Accucare Dental to have it fixed. Rather than jumping into a repair... I was charged $130 so they could look at it and TELL ME I had a chipped tooth. Ummm.... I already knew that. Set a follow up appointment so they could actually begin to resolve my issue. Follow up appointment started off bad and got worse. Dr. Wilcox applied a topical numbing agent to the area in preparation for a shot. I believe perhaps my receding gum line may have been the culprit but regardless... whatever he applied hit the nerve and hurt like hell. My reaction to this pain clearly didn't sit well with Dr. Wilcox. In fact,.... his dental assistant empathized with me and the pain I was in and D W quickly dismissed her sympathy indicating that I shouldn't have reacted that way. Side Note.... I have a tattoo sleeve that spans around my shoulder and goes to my wrist. 22 hours of needle poking me so.... If I tell you I am in pain....... I AM REALLY IN PAIN!!! Now comes the shots in the roof of my mouth and into my gums. No problems whatsoever with that pain,... however for some reason my nasal passages immediately closed ( im talking within 30 seconds ). Not sure why but suddenly I could only breathe through my mouth. As they were waiting for me to get good and numb the dental assistant came over to see which of these rubbery mouth shims would fit my mouth. Imagine a large chunk of rubber shoved in your mouth to keep it open for the dentist to get to his work. I immediately told the gal that I wasn't sure if I could endure this in my mouth clogging my airway in tandem with my nose being clogged. She dismissed my concern and responded with something to the effect of .... "oh its really great and it helps the dentist". While digesting her response..... the show starts and D W sits down.... shoves the plastic in my mouse and gets to work. I could not breathe and within seconds felt as if I was going to have a panic attack. I signalled that I needed them to stop .... which btw was not met with any level of understanding at all. I was made to feel like I was a nuisance and I honestly had all I was going to tolerate that day. I got out of the chair....collected my things and walked out the door. I must say that some of this experience was personal to me and my physical health and I understand different people respond differently to the nova cane ( or whatever they use )...... but there is just no excuse whatsoever for treating a patient the way I was treated. read more

My husband & I both have been in to see Dr. Pham & have had as good an experience as you can have at a dentist's office! My husband is TERRIFIED of dentists & they have done everything possible to make him feel comfortable. They accept our Appleton Dental Discount Plan which makes our bills so much more affordable. After each visit, Shiela explains everything that needs to be done in follow-up appointments & helps us figure out which needs to be taken care of first & what we can afford to hold off on. Dr. Pham and his staff are absolutely wonderful. My fear of being drilled into has subsided. My body metabolizes the lidocaine pretty quickly and i have ALWAYS felt pain during and after dental work. Dr. Pham stayed on top of my comfort level and made certain I was not in pain. Before I walked into AccuCare, Scottsdale (which was recommended to my by a close friend), I told the staff I'd rather have scorpions walk across my body than see a dentist. I have had a bunch of work done over the years at AccuCare and I have never had a problem. They have always been professional and have always made sure I understood exactly what was needed to improve my dental health. I have never had to wait too long for an appointment and they are great about calling, emailing, or texting (which ever you prefer) to remind me about an upcoming appointment. Let me start with the positive: Dr. Pham is an AWESOME dentist. One of the best I have ever seen. On my choice, he gave me 2 fillings (on the edges of teeth, not near the nerves) without Novacain and I did not feel a thing. The hygienist I usually saw did good work even though I found her to be very saccharine. The problem I had here was scheduling. I had appointments rescheduled several times and even showed up once to find out the hygienist was not going to be in that day. I understand that people get sick, but there should really be a backup plan if that is your business. Another time I had to wait an hour for my appointment because the hygienist was running late getting to work. I had to reschedule an appointment in early to mid-December and the next opening they had was not until January 17. I took the appointment and later received a call letting me know they were going to work a shortened day on January 17 and needed to reschedule. I just cancelled and found a new dentist who was able to see me the next week. read more

Awful experience. Problem 1: After my initial evaluation, they scheduled me for a second evaluation. After the second evaluation, I was told I needed thousands of dollars worth of deep cleaning treatments. This was news to me. Not only am I a diligent brusher and flosser, but both my previous dentist and current dentist think my teeth are in good shape. When I told them I couldn't afford their recommended treatment and only wanted a regular cleaning, they refused. Seemed like a scam. Problem 2: They got my name wrong repeatedly. I corrected the spelling of my last name on my first visit, but apparently it didn't take. Every time I called, they couldn't find my records and kept me on hold for several minutes while they tried different variations of my common 5-letter last name. Problem 3: I asked Dr Pham about a mouth guard for OSA and he assured me he'd get back to me. He didn't. On my second visit, he said another patient liked the mouth guard, so he'd research it for me and get back to me. He didn't. I had to call and follow-up myself, at which time I was told that the mouth guard would cost around $500 and take 3 weeks to deliver. I was also told I needed copies of my sleep study in order to warrant ordering the device. (Update: my new dentist ordered the device on my first visit without needing any additional paperwork; he got it for me in 7 days and for less money.) Problem 4: They scheduled me months out for each visit, but every time I went there, the place was abandoned. Why did I have to wait so long? Problem 5: The waiting room. Looks like the Miami Vice logo exploded. White wallpaper with bright pink and blue shapes. In the corner is a Nintendo 64 that plays the same Mario Kart music over and over and over. read more

I saw Dr. Pham on 10-28-15 for a chipped tooth. I originally thought that having the chip and other teeth nearby filed down would fix the problem, however, Dr. Pham recommended that I have the tooth bonded to fill the chip. The bonded tooth cost me $430 and the bonding FELL OUT AFTER 10 DAYS! I've done a lot of research and bonded teeth are supposed to last 3 - 10 years! NOT only 10 DAYS!! I called to schedule to have my tooth filled AGAIN and was told that I should see a cosmetic dentist to obtain a crown instead (even though the chip is small and the tooth is healthy). Although, Accucare Dental's website states that they are Cosmetic Dentists, they apparently are NOT and did not have white enough crown material to do my tooth there. I told them that I would seek out a cosmetic dentist but that if I was not able to obtain the crown from that dentist, that they would need to honor the warranty on my bonded tooth and redo the bonding BEFORE November 20th because I own a flower shop and am extremely busy during Thanksgiving week and wouldn't be able to come in during that week and that I was having my Engagement Photo Session done on the 28th (which had been scheduled many months in advance). I went to see a cosmetic dentist as they suggested (Dr. Chari - and another $100 out!) and he recommended that, since I had already paid for the bonding at Accucare Dental, to go back and have them do it correctly. He explained to me in detail (with a drawing even), what Dr. Pham did wrong and what he needed to do to complete the new bonding CORRECTLY. So, once again, I called Accucare Dental and the Office Manager, Cheryl, gave me the run around and refused to schedule me for a new appointment during any time that could even possibly work for me due to the reasons I've stated above. She even went so far as to tell me that she was "just going to refund my money because look at how upset I was getting" (over her not even attempting to get me in). I stated that OF COURSE, I WAS UPSET!!! I'VE ALREADY HAD THIS PROCEDURE DONE ONCE, I'VE SPENT OVER 8 HOURS TAKING OFF WORK AND SPENT OVER $500 TO HAVE THIS TAKEN CARE OF BEFORE MY PHOTO SESSION AND THAT I DON'T HAVE TIME TO GO ANYWHERE ELSE!! So now, I'm basically screwed. I have to scramble to hopefully find another dentist to fix this problem sometime within the next 2 days! I will NEVER go there again, and I am writing this so that other people do NOT go there either. If you do, you will most likely get screwed as well. It is very apparent that Dr. Pham is a terrible dentist, that he doesn't know what he is doing in the bonding teeth department and he doesn't care about his work or his patients! read more

Most of the staff at Accucare are very helpful and friendly. However, Dr Pham has a horrible chair-side manner. He has NO people skills.

I was a long- standing patient, yet the front office person has an argument over my request, I was NOT asking for free service, just a way to narrow down the nature of the problem. New to Scottsdale, went in for initial visit with Dr. Austin Wilcox (Scottsdale office for Accucare Dental Centers) after receiving new patient promotion post card. Not in any pain, no dental problems, just due for a dental visit. Shocked to be told after exam, cleaning and x-rays that I needed over $2000 worth of fillings in 4 teeth plus a crown needed to be replaced as well. Dr. Austin Wilcox could not get out of the exam room quickly enough after exam during which he spoke in "dental code" rather than plain English so I could understand, then left his dental assistant to deliver the bad news to me about all the work I needed to have done and the huge cost (self-pay, no dental insurance). Always had pretty good teeth so I was quite shaken and shell shocked. Dental phobic that I am, I discussed oral sedation for all of this work and it was an additional $200 for them to prescribe a sedative (which I pay for) and take by myself. Are you kidding me?? After thinking about it, went to another dentist for a second opinion where I had more x-rays and an exam. NO CAVATIES or CROWN ISSUES AT ALL!! This place is a rip-off trying to maximize "practice management" at your expense and pain. RUN!!! Don't even THINK about visiting this dentist. read more
