This location has recently had staffing changes and it's for the better! Front desk associates are super communicative and a lot more on top of things then they were only about 2 months back or so! Try this place again! Things have improved greatly! Ask for Lisa Sloane, RDH to clean your teeth! Most genuine, honest, educational person to ever clean my teeth. She knows what she is doing and I feel like she has so much experience that is shows. She is gentle in areas that may be sensitive and is highly communicative with what she is doing. Dr. Jeremy Sweet, DDS is also super communicative, will ask if you have questions and throughly explains everything he suggests and recommends. I never feel rushed here and I always feel like they do a great job! I'm glad there is some adjustments with the staffing in the front of the office because I can already see the difference! I switched to this dentist office this year and I'm so glad I did. The office itself is convenient to get to, beautiful and clean. Ellie is at the front desk and she always greets with a smile and a friendly hello. She has been very accommodating in adjusting my appointments when I need to and I really appreciate that. The entire staff is warm and welcoming. I had a dental emergency recently and I was in a lot of pain. All of the staff members that I had contact with that day (Zee, Danielle, Vicky and Dr. Erin) couldn't have been more kind or more empathetic. And that meant so much to me. I used to live right around the corner from this dentist office which is why I originally chose it I moved bout 40 minutes away now and drive buy probably 50 dentist on the way there. The staff is incredible and personable while being highly professional and above all else honest! I've spent half my life going to the dentist like I'm going to an auto mechanic like well they may rip me off but I don't know any better. I have always hated/been scared of the dentist. BUT, Dr. Khara and my hygienist, Anthony, had me leaving and wanting to come back next week! I have never had so much fun getting a root canal. During the COVID-19 outbreak, I shattered a molar and was in severe pain. SDS got me in immediately to do half of the procedure to at least get me out of pain. When I met Dr. Khara and Anthony, we immediately clicked and found things all three of us has in common that made the appointment feel more like I was hanging out with friends. I really appreciated how outgoing, natural, and friendly the entire staff was! I woke up the day of my second appointment in a ton of pain and when I arrived, I called in and told them I was there a bit early because I was in a lot of pain. When Anthony came and got me from my car, the first thing he said was "Hey, friend!" and I was instantly excited to be there (regardless of the impending doom that is the second half of a root canal). When we got back to the room, Dr. Khara was waiting for me, ready to get me numb first thing, and had our collective favorite music genre (EDM) blasting from a speaker and said "I hope it's cool if we all just hang out and jam today!" I can honestly say I have never fist bumped while getting Novocaine before. Over half way through my procedure, an emergency extraction came in and since the team was extremely short staffed due to COVID-19, I told them I had absolutely no problem with them taking care of the other patient that was in pain and pausing my procedure (they only took about 20 minutes!). About 5 minutes into them getting back to work on me, I realized I could feel almost everything they were doing. I tried my best to suck it up for my new friends, but Anthony knew right away that I was uncomfortable. I really put these two to the test when I, a 22 year old female born and raised in Scottsdale, began bawling in pain out of no where. They instantly dropped EVERYTHING to numb me again and refused to continue on until I was completely out of pain regardless of me pushing them to not spend more time than was allocated for my appointment (My worst nightmare is being an inconvenient patient). I can honestly say that I have never felt more genuinely cared for by a dentist. This duo connects so well with their patients and are both incredibly good at their profession- it is the day after the second half and I am in close to no pain at all. I want to meet up with these guys for lunch, go to concerts with them, and tell them all about my boy problems. And to think that 4 days ago I hated the dentist!!! All I have to say is THANK GOODNESS for Scottsdale Dental Studio. I had to get a root canal done on Friday 10/17/14. I went to a specialist who did a good job but, let me know that I would have to go elsewhere within two weeks to get a crown put on. This would not be an issue if I was not going out of town next week. I panicked and this is where Scottsdale Dental Studio saved the day. I found Scottsdale Dental Studio online with a special they were offering. I called Diana and she went over crown options on the phone and got me an appointment for just two hours later (ON A FRIDAY). Many places could not get me in so I was extremely thankful this appointment could be set up on such short notice. Upon entering the lobby area, the spacious room was very welcoming. There were different books and magazines to look through, the leather couches were quite comfy to sit on, and they had waters and a Keurig ready. I was still numb from the root canal otherwise I would have been all over that! I only waited the amount of time that it took me to fill out the paperwork. When I got taken back, they had a TV in the room that was right by my chair. It made my nerves ease up a bit- there is always something about HGTV that does that. Anyways, the dental assistant/hygienist was very nice and let me know what to expect. I had to get a temporary crown first and then in a few weeks I will get my custom permanent crown on. Dr. Badyal came in and the whole process started. He was very polite and gentle since he knew I literally just had a root canal. He seemed to be a perfectionist (which is GREAT since most everyone wants nice looking teeth). We had to do a few prints of my teeth. The gunk and bitter taste were the only things that I could've done without, but they are just a norm with crowns. Dr. Badyal did a wonderful job and I cannot wait to go get my permanent crown on Nov. 7! I must also say, Diana was so awesome to go over payment options with me. I will not have dental insurance until Jan. 1. It was very great that they worked with me and I did not have to be charged the whole payment upfront. Took my whole family here because our go to dentist, Dr. G. moved/joined with this place. Disappointed with the lack of info they said they got from my ins. co. was not until after our appointments!Prior to appoints all was "good to go they said" unless something crazy all is covered. Our ins not confirmed they would NOT cover a portion of the procedures. But that did not matter to them since they did not offer the alternative from my ins co, which had they told me may have made a difference. It was not like this before, they were completely inconsiderate like the office was now. Just left a bad "new" impression. Sorry do not like bad reviews. But think that it is important to ask question and make sure you get concrete answers especially when you have a WHOLE family being seen. Will say treatment went well and they did a good job. The paperwork was shady and seemed wrong as if "it's only money" big deal, get over it, needless to say I found another dentist office, which was upfront without me having to investigate a thing! 3 kids my husband and me .... I went there for a cleaning! First time was fine, no cavities just come back in 4 months for regular cleaning. I was on vacation for 7 months. Came back and there was another Dentist there. Now miraculously i have 4 cavities and 2 are under a 5 unit bridge. I was in the Dental Lab Business for 35 years . I Had Crowned and Bridged my whole mouth! So i went and got a second opinion because , we are talking a lot of money that i don't have. Come to find out i don't have any cavities at all. They made me feel very comfortable despite my anxiety at the dentist. The whole place is calming, clean, and positive. Most importantly, they didn't sell me dental work, and instead they seem to be more practical in treatment. They will be my family dentist as long as my insurance allows. Update** after my last few visits, I have to drop two star. They seem a bit more price focused these days. I find it hard to get a straight estimate of what I will pay. I don't trust the billing as it seems like they work the insurance game now. I also miss the old hygienist who really did a great job cleaning without adding extra work to the bill. Hoping they will work on their pricing practices as they used to be so fair! :( Update*** I learned you can ask for a pretreatment estimate from your insurance company and that gets you much closer to actual out of pocket costs. The billing system is a little confusing, but overall I still feel like this dentist does a great job. I still take our daughter here, and I feel that Dr Sweet gives very good advice to manage dental costs. I bumped them back up to 4 Update**** sadly my last attempt still ended up with an inaccurate idea of costs. The pretreatment estimate didn't work here. It seems like no matter what I do, I end up paying 60-70 here. I will unfortunately be shopping for a new dentist. I just get the feeling the dental assistant bills fraudulently. Last treatment took 15 mins to fill my daughter cavity. It was billed as $256 to the insurance. My invoice said the cost of the treatment was $108. I paid $63 and we have good insurance? It took me almost a year to write this review due to the anixety and emotional trauma this practice caused me. In approximately June of 2014 I went into the office requesting that we possible replace some crowns that were older and looking worn. After a consultation, the dentist brought it to my attention that it would be best to do a complete transformation on my top teeth. I told her that they needed to be done before my trip to Connecticut i August. She said "absolutely" and I agreed. Since I don't have 11K laying around the house, I used some of my own money, insurance and financed the rest. I was super excited to have a new smile. Initially we talked about color. Due to the fact that my teeth we older and discolored I asked her how white we could go. She said to pick out a shade within a certain color wheel. I inquired about if my bottom teeth would match and she assured me we could bleach them to get them to match. My first visit was painfur and long, but I had expected that so it wasn't any surprise. They made temporaries and they looked pretty good. Within the first week the temporaries started to fall out. At one point I was at work and while talking to a client, my tooth flew out of my mouth and I had to scramble to pick it up. Talk about embarassing! On my second visit, the dental assistant. had to drill again and numbed up the entire mouth. While this was being done, I felt the most excruciating pain. I actually started to cry. I asked her to please stop. The dental assistant then informed me I would probably need a root canal on that tooth? WHAT? When I originally went in there were no problems with that tooth. I just wanted to leave and I told the woman at the desk (who was always nice) that I needed more whitener (the original whitening session did not work well). I was in tears, shaking and a mess. The dental assistant then told me the next time I would have to pay for the gel. This was not the opportune time to tell someone who is in tremendous pain this information. After my temps falling out on at least 4 different occasions, At one point, they decided to replace half of the temporaries. Another dental assistant did this work and she kept looking at the clock like she had to leave. When she was done, I asked for a mirror. The teeth on one side of my mouth were a COMPLETELY different color then the originals. She said that's the whitest she had and most people would not notice. As I was leaving, feeling defeated again, I saw the actual Doctor and asked her if this was normal. She had a word with the dental assistant and asked me to return to the chair as the assistant had used the wrong color . The assistant was terribly annoyed and told me that the bottom color would never match the top anyway. CAN YOU IMAGINE? 11K dollars and she was going to let me leave like this? The Doctor was nice, but it seems much of the work was done by these assistants. I patiently waited for my permanent teeth to come in. I was leaving for my vacation in a few weeks. I kept calling and the office manager would assure me they would come in "soon". As you may have guessed, they did not come in before I left. Because the temps keps falling out (I actually carried tooth "glue" in my purse because it happened so much, that they would make new temps. I left for vacation very dissapointed. When I got back from vacation, the new teeth were in. The first time we tried them, they didn't fit. There were huge gaps by the gums and the Doctor said nobody would notice if I didn't smile big. I said no way, I want them fixed since I was now making a small car payment. They sent them out again and they came in fitting better. I noticed a little black at the gum line where the tooth meets. I was told it because my tooth under the crown was discolored but the gum should drop down. It never did. I didn't go back because the thought of making one more trip there made me sick. I must have made at least 10 trips to the office. In addition, my bottom teeth are a completely different color then my top teeth, hence I am still embarassed about my smile. I don't think I should feel this way after 11K. Now I need to replace another two crowns where the black lines are and try to have something done to correct the color issue. Hence, this is probably going to cost another 10K . Don't go there unless you want a teeth cleaning or something. Save major dentistry work for an expert. read more

I just had the worst experience at this dentist office. DO NOT GO HERE. The receptionist called me the wrong name five times in a row which did not bother me but then she mixed up my treatment plan over 3 times. One of the treatments was costly and a serious problem. She called me the next day and was still confused on what to do for treatment. The dentist was not very nice. I told the receptionist the only good thing that had come from that appointment was the lady who cleaned my teeth before the dentist came in to look at the x-rays. After the receptionist heard that she proceeded to tell me that the lady who cleaned my teeth isn't very good and let's a lot of people teeth go. My one question to her was why would they have someone work on my teeth who is not capable of doing it right? On top of all that she would not release my medical history to me and it was a battle to finally get them. This environment left me feeling very uncomfortable and I hope that others do not have to go through this. read more

My wife and I were wintering in Arizona when a temporary bridge unattached. We contacted the Studio and were very quickly taken in and the bridge repaired with the understanding that the repair would only be temporary since permanent repairs were scheduled with our dentist back home. Since the original teeth were loose (implants scheduled upon return home) we had to return on more than one occasion to have the temporary bridge refastened. Charges were so reasonable we felt that we were imposing however the staff was so welcoming and the service so professional that we feel strongly our need to give the entire team our strongest recommendations. I asked my husband for our Dental insurance info and his response was "if your asking, there must b something wrong" Yep, I had a toothache, we have only lived in the area 6 mo, now what do I do? Well, I took to Yelp and began searching and then checking my insurance website to be sure it was accepted. Thank you Yelp for leading me to Dr. Withem and staff. I called and was able to get an appt for 1pm the same afternoon. I immediately felt comfortable in the beautiful office and by being warmly greeted by the front office. In no time at all, I was getting my X-rays done, chatting with the assistant and then meeting Dr. Withem . Nice guy, very easy going and kind. When he was done with his exam, I finished up by getting a print out with the work he suggest be done and what my insurance would cover and what I would be responsible for. This is great!
