Went looking for a new experience with the kids and found Ace Eat Serve. Great space with plenty of room, a great bar selection, and a fun outdoor space. We sat indoors due to a party reserving the entire outdoor area and had a ping pong table with our high top. It's $25 an hour for the ping pong table but we wanted the full experience. Orders from the happy hour menu which is 3-6 during the weekend and had the Hot Oaxaca and Whiskey of the Day for the adults. Drinks were ok. For food, we got three kids ramens (which were basically the size of an adult ramen), a spicy ramen, edamame, pot stickers, tiger wings, and crisp chili picked cucumbers. Ramen was ok. I've had better spicy ramen. Wings were good and satisfying with plenty of meat on the bone. Overall, ambience is very fun and food is ok. We'd come back for the fun! read more

3.5 stars, rounded up to 4 for always friendly service. I've now been here for brunch, happy hour, and dinner, and I think I enjoy Ace Eat Serve in that order. Most items on the brunch menu were enjoyable and they had a variety of beverages. I would say the biggest let down was their Japanese soufflé pancakes because they weren't light and airy at all, but maybe that's just very hard to make in high altitude, I have no clue. Happy hour is always a fun vibe here. None of their cocktails really stand out to me of the various ones I've tried, so I'd stick with beer or whichever whiskey of the week they're using for their $5.95 old fashioneds - those are a steal! I think dinner has a lot of potential but maybe they need to work on some fine tuning and nomenclature of the dishes. Some highlights were the Tiger Wings (good texture, slightly heavy handed on the fish sauce), XLBs (skin was a little thick, but again it may be a high altitude cooking/baking thing), and the entertainment value of the peking duck that was carved table-side (more on that later). Shrimp wontons were okay, and the wagyu dan dan noodles were a straight up miss - you can't call a dish dan dan noodles if you're using flat rice noodles. I think they would have positioned the dish better calling it a beef pad see ew or a beef chow fun. Also sometimes less is more - we don't need cherry tomatoes in it no matter what you want to call this Asian beef noodle dish. There was also nothing "wagyu" about the beef slices. Okay the Peking duck: you have to set your expectations right - this is a fusion restaurant in Denver after all. They only serve 6 each night on Thursdays and Sundays, so it's highly suggested you pre order it. I would say the duck was tasty and overall an enjoyable dish. Only found a few pieces of skin that were crispy, wish there were more. For $73, it would have been fun if they took the remaining duck carcass and made a congee/soup out of it for the table, like many more traditional peking duck places do. I feel like most of the accoutrements that came with the duck (which I found annoying that our server called "banchan" - wrong Asian cuisine lol, and these are not even banchan) didn't go well with the duck besides just the regular hoisin. Why are there pickled bell peppers or five spice sugar? Again less is more in this case. We ordered Turon for dessert, which is traditionally a Filipino sweet eggroll with plantains inside. The texture and overall flavor were actually pretty spot on, and may have been a perfect dish if they used plantains instead of regular bananas. Finally gave Ace Eat Serve another try! We were able to snag a speciality they have -- Peking Duck (You have to reserve it before hand and its around $70 dollars). It should comfortably serve 2-4 people with the addition of apps or an entree! It also comes with some crepes and some condiments. One of their recommendations is to try the duck skin with the sugar mix they included, very interesting combo! Some other items we picked to try: Spicy Pork Ramen - absolutely delicious, has a spicy kick to it but flavorful! Beef Pho Xiao Long Bao - Tasted like a flavorful pho! I would get again but it comes with 4 at the price of $16 Lucky Dragon Wings - Yum! Our favorite out of the two wings we tried. It is covered with a chili sauce and some sesame seeds. Has a nice zing to it! Tiger Wings - Sweet & Salty sauce, it was alright. Wagyu Dan Dan Noodles - Noodles were excellent and wagyu beef was tender! I felt that the last visit's version was better. We visited Ace Eat Serve during Pride, so it was understandably packed. While it took a bit for our order to come out, the wait wasn't unreasonable considering how busy it was. We'd planned on brunch but were disappointed to find only the happy hour menu available because of the event. We came in a large group of nine. My husband and I ordered a few dishes: Tiger Wings - tasty, with a nice balance of sweet and spicy. Tuna Tartare Spring Roll - my favorite of the meal; delicious flavors and crispy texture. Karaage with Lucky Sauce - solid choice; the sauce is a must! Chili Crisp Pickle Cucumbers - more pickled than I expected, but I ended up loving them despite not usually being a pickle fan. Char Siu Ribs - unfortunately, these arrived cold inside. Though they replaced them when we asked, the second portion was smaller, and overall the dish was just okay. I wouldn't order it again. Turon - crispy and tasty, with banana and caramel pairing nicely. Negroni - my husband's drink, a bit on the sweeter side, which made it one of the better Negronis I've had. I usually don't like Negronis, but this version suited my taste more than most. The biggest letdown was at the end of the meal. They wouldn't split our check by items, which was frustrating, especially for a large group. I'm not sure if this was because it was Pride weekend and they were slammed, but it definitely put a damper on the experience. Overall: The food was good, especially the tuna tartare spring roll and tiger wings. But between the limited menu, cold ribs, and the hassle with the check, it wasn't quite the seamless outing we'd hoped for. They also charged us a BOH fee (4%) alongside the 20% for a big group. I wouldn't come again with a large group but perhaps just the two of us. read more

A solid 4. I came here with a group of friends to catch up and grab dinner and drinks. The interior is modern and cozy. Our server was so incredibly nice. She helped us through the menu and made recommendations! Stellar service! The drinks were fabulous. I ordered a spiked Vietnamese coffee, which is very similar to an espresso martini. It's not on the regular cocktail menu, but I highly recommend asking if the bar will make it! there's a large selection of sake, beer, cocktails, and frozen drinks. There was even a cider on tap. The food was good. I would say some dishes were better than others. The gochujang Korean wings were sauced superbly, but the chicken was overdone. I really enjoyed the Brussels Sprouts and blistered Shishito peppers. We also ordered the Waygu DanDan noodles, which was not very spicy at all, and had large chunks of Wagyu steak, which again I thought, was overdone. We ordered mushroom/chicken dish off of the specials which was the highlight of the evening. If I come back, I'll definitely pay more attention to the specials menu. The atmosphere was really cute and I enjoyed spending time there with friends and catching up. I love that there were vegetarian and vegan options as well as gluten free and dairy free dishes. I have to say that this is one of my favorite restaurants in the city. The flavor combinations at Ace are right up my alley. If you're into Asian fusions this is the spot! The Thai Me Up is a perfectly balanced, refreshing cocktail. I absolutely LOVE all of the Bao Bun options, especially the pork. However, if you're able to book ahead, do yourself a favor and check out the Peking duck experience. This is what truly sets Ace apart for me. The duck is meticulously prepared and carved at your table. It's served with pickled veggies, sauces and these amazing little mu shu crepes. This is an absolute must try! Very unique place off 17th Ave that offers ping pong and amazing food. The restaurant is uniquely designed and has a great atmosphere. I didn't take a picture of all of our food but I think we ordered almost half the menu. Some things not pictured are the tiger wings, crisp chili pickles cucumbers, edamame, chicken karrage bao, pork potstickers, and chicken fried rice. The lo mein and chicken karrage bao were my favorite but the wings gave them a run for their money. Our server was kind and helpful and made great recommendations. I had to come downtown for a meeting and this place was the coolest meeting location ever. The patio was ready for happy hour to start. Nice furniture and cute swing chairs. I ordered the happy hour $11 Khao Soi Ramen. It was very tasty with Coconut curry broth, noodles and veggies. Sienna is the bartender in this city! She definitely is fun and knowledgeable and has the key to run this bar. The drink she made was a T-bird. It had hibiscus soda with mint and cucumber. Very refreshing and delightful! His favorite dish of the trip was the chef carved table side Peking duck which you can get here at Ace. Have to order ahead only on Thursday and Sundays. Accompany Nixon on that trip was the All-American Ping-Pong Team led by SGT Forrest Gump (medal of honor recipient) who used "ping-pong diplomacy" on healing the relationship between the U.S. and Communist China which was instrumental to ending the Cold War. Ace brings ping pong culture to our city and they are the sister restaurant of Steubens located next door. Once upon a time, OG Steuben was the most popular eatery on yelp. They started the food truck scene with chicken waffles and lobster rolls. IDK why Ace has a low rating, maybe people are judging the food with Michelin criteria. Delicious drinks and the variety of food we got for the price was pretty good (coming from a girl who hates to eat out bc of the expense). We (party of 6) ordered almost everything on the happy hour food menu and were stuffed. Great outdoor seating options and plenty of activities (we did not do any ping pong or anything, just ate and drank). End of service as things in the restaurant started picking up was a bit slow. Took a while to get the tab, but overall I would recommend the happy hour. As a Thai snob who has tried as many bowls of this I can get my hands on - this is the best bowl I've had in a long long time. (Pro tip is to order the karaage and add it in this divine soup). The punches of sour from the generous amount of pickled greens were everything my heart desired. Best bite of the night went to the Tom Kha dumplings! Incredible. If you get one thing, make sure it's this. Off the happy hour menu I'd recommend getting the potstickers, cucumbers, and shishitos with Brussels sprouts. The glass noodles were also fantastic! The pork belly in the ramen was amazing and overall the flavor was very good and the noodles were great. Pineapple buns was as custard as I would expect. Taste like the original pineapple buns like anywhere else. I get that the pork belly was another version of a side or bacon. But it was either overcooked or too fatty to eat. The proportion between meat and fat per piece was so bad. Topping it off with an ube pancakes that has no smell of ube. And ube is quite potent. They do happy hour every weekday and on weekends too. I'm a big fan of the lo mein and recently tried the Khao Soi and enjoyed that a lot too. Our food and drinks came out quickly and all of the servers seemed to be working as a team to make that happen, which was nice. I visited once for a family event. The entire place was basically reserved for the event. We had a very large party. Servers were very good at attending to the crowd. It was pretty hectic. Lots of kids. They were activities that the kids could do including ping pong and cornhole. There was a ice cream maker on site, but I'm not actually sure whether or not that was something that was contracted extra. All I know is everyone was really happy with the ice cream. Now the reason I'm giving it four stars instead of five, is because I asked if I could place an order to go being as I had not eaten the entire day and I was pretty much starving. The server I approached was super sweet she told me that the kitchen was pretty busy but that they could get something out probably in about 10 minutes. I said I wanted a salad she told me the only salad on the menu was a little gem salad that had three little romaine hurts with some crumbles and ginger dressing. I asked if I could get some chicken with that and she said yes that would be extra. So 10 minutes later my food is ready and I went to pay her with cash and ask her how much my bill was and she said 25 something something. I was a little shocked because this truly was a tiny container too tiny containers one with the little salad gems and the other one with some crumbled Asian style chicken bits. So I took it back to my hotel. Unpackaged it. The salad jams were fine I could eat them with my hands. And I did not like the chicken whatsoever. So basically I gave her 30 bucks to cover the cost of the food and the tip. When I looked at the actual menu to see what the price of these items was the gem salad was something like 12.99 so I asked why I was charged and she said something about event fees and taxes being added on. Again I was so hungry I really didn't mind I just wanted something to eat cuz it was late night already. But I'm still a little confused as to why my price was double basically. The large "PAID customer parking in marked spots" sign does not mean its validated parking for their customers in their marked spaces. Would have been much better off not advertising on the back of the building this way. Parking probably would have cost $10 for my time there but instead we had received an $87 parking ticket which is actually insane. When I called about some form of validation from the restaurant the manager was rude and at best "maybe" could offer a gift card. Would recommend removing the sign out back and just letting Patrons know they need to pay for parking instead of a confusing advertisement. read more
