I was excited to try a neighborhood restaurant, so we decided to get brunch. Misstep 1: no price on the mimosa and when i asked - $8 a glass. Ended up being $12 on my check. Then, after sitting for an uncomfortable amount of time, i asked the host if someone was going to come around to take our order. We ordered as we had enough time to look over the menu and decide while we waited. Apparently, the restaurant was not prepared for the holiday weekend. The food: cold, burnt and under cooked. I was hungry so i ate my cold breakfast sandwich which should've been hot and one of the pieces of bread was burnt. However, the accompanying roasted potatoes were really tasty! My partner's food was undercooked: rare when requested well done and cold. How long did our food sit at the window? I sent back her food and ordered another breakfast sandwich in its place. It came out at the right temperature, but i had already finished. The restaurant realized how badly our experience was going so we were only charged for my drink and the doughnuts. The doughnuts were warm and tasty! Definitely order that dish. Missed the mark on service and food. We'll revisit eventually and hope for a better experience. read more

Came here for happy hour during the week. The ambiance was really nice and welcoming. The hibiscus mule was really good- nice tartness and not too sweet. We ordered the patatas bravas and focaccia to split. The potatoes came in a generous serving and were so yummy. The focaccia was good but not mind blowing- the butter that came with it though was really good. They got a little busy so service was a tad slow, but the staff were so nice and friendly! read more

Visited here for happy hour with a friend! We arrived to the location and they were closed, they had changed their hours. The employees still let us in, which was very kind of them. We appreciated that since we had walked there. The place is cutely decorated, seemed like a perfect place for happy hour. The drinks were okay - there wasn't anything seasonal, or like a "speciality" Whit's End drink. It was unfortunately a bit disappointing. The happy hour menu overall didn't really have anything that stood out. I really wanted something to grab my attention or just really make me want to come back for it and nothing did. Unfortunately, I don't think I'd return - it was okay and we appreciated how nice the staff were, but nothing on the happy hour menu left me wanting to come back and try full dishes. It's was alright! I went for Dining Week and tried the salmon with orzo. The menu is simple and the place is a clean, open style design. I can see myself going back again and trying more. It's hard to rate, I probably need more visits, but I'll round up to a 4 for now as I think others should check it out. The regular menu is pretty basic but hit's all the basic categories: fish, chicken, pork, beef, veggie. I do hope the keep evolving it regularly, though. If someone were to frequent here often, they'd quickly run out of new options otherwise. The starters have quite a variety. They have brunch on Sundays and their website says a happy hour, but don't share what the happy is drinks/eats. Never understood why so many places hide that menu. It's in an area that doesn't have a whole lot else around walking distance, but maybe that will change in the future. read more

This place is fun! We came here for dinner with friends, and I thought it was so cute and delicious. I however was so surprised it was not more crowded - we were one of 2 or 3 groups when we arrived around 6, and although more did show up throughout the evening, it didn't get much more crowded! The food is creative, yet classic, and the drinks are delicious. I tried a couple of their mocktails & was impressed by the spread and the creativity. For food, we tried the crispy brussel sprouts (sooooo good) and patatas bravas to start, and fish and chips and burger for mains. Everything was delicious! The staff was super friendly and helpful, and guided us through the menu. They gave us space to chat and take our time, but were attentive as well. Would definitely go back! read more

I'll start by saying that I think that this restaurant is pretty shortstaffed right now, I went out to eat with a few people for 7 PM reservation on a Friday night and there was only two waiters that I saw. Our waitress was very kind, but clearly overwhelmed trying to keep everyone's needs met. The back of house may have been understaffed as well, we didn't get our food until about 8:15/8:20pm. With that being said, I would still recommend going to this restaurant, but give yourself ample time. We had an event we had to get to so the end of our meal was pretty rushed, but I think if I was just schmoozing with friends at a night out, and we got a couple appetizers early, I wouldn't have really cared. My meal was great, I ordered the special and it was so good I could've licked the plate clean. We did get the brussels sprouts as an appetizer, and I would not recommend those because it was all flakes, no true brussels sprouts lol. You can see in the picture! My husband and I went here for dinner last night. We'd been a few times before, but it had been awhile. We had their artichoke appetizer which was really tasty, shared their kale salad (delicious) and I had their chicken piccata and my husband had their shrimp scampi. We enjoyed everything we ordered. The restaurant itself is really nice with a good bar area and ample tables. Our waitress was really great. We've been here before and can't figure out why it's not more crowded. We will definitely be back. Would love to see it be better supported since it's really close to our house. read more

This is a tough one to review. It is a relatively new restaurant and has a beautiful decor and moderately high food prices in a neighborhood that probably does not support moderately high-end restaurants. The server was obviously new and didn't know the menu. The food was a mixed bag. The two pasta dishes we ordered, which includes homemade noodles, were very good, but we're a bit high-priced for upscale pasta. The Caesar salad was a poor imitation of a Caesar and a bad value with a small amount of romaine lettuce, a few mini tomatoes and 3 tiny croutons along with an unfamiliar Caesar dressing. Three of the people with us had the steak and the steak was not premium quality beef nor a familiar named popular beef such as NY Strip, or filet mignon. The finished steak dish looked pretty, but the steak was tough to chew (possibly flank steak - the server didn't know) and not a good value for what you got. The parking lot was limited to three spaces but there was adequate street parking. If you decide to visit, I would recommend you avoid the steak dish(es) and stick with the pasta - the pasta was worth the trip. read more

This restaurant has amazing pasta. I'm not from Denver and did a quick search for a spot near City Park and this place popped up. The pasta is made in house and it's perfect...10/10! The food here is amazing! My partner and I live in the neighborhood and have been curious to give it a shot, and I was blown away at how delicious everything was. The pierogis are insanely good, the salmon with orzo was creamy and perfectly cooked. The chefs are killing it in back of house. Everything came out quickly too, which was great. This is my first review on yelp or really of any restaurant up until this point as I feel compelled by all that is good to warn others especially those that are gluten free. It could've been a one night thing but the food was unbelievably bad having paid over $30 an entree not that anyone should have paid any price for what we ate. We both got the Cacio E Pepe while the Italians might disagree that you could truly call it that. There is no doubt noodles and company would have done a better job as the noodles were undercooked and chewy while the sauce was tasteless and bland. To top it off both were served cold to us. However, this pales in comparison to what my sweet girlfriend had to suffer through as she got the gluten free version which was a complete joke. My dog could have made better noodles. Please if you are gluten free or like Italian food go to Angelo's off 6th they make this places food seem like horse feed in comparison. Only good thing was ambiance and bartender. Maybe a good spot for drinks if you like over paying for that as well! At least if they bring back the show kitchen nightmares Gordon Ramsey would have a good place to stop in Denver!!! read more

Whit's End is such a great addition to the neighborhood. We go frequently and the team there is so friendly and attentive. The food is delicious comfort food and I can't get enough of the Caesar salad and pierogis. It's clear everything is scratch cooked. Brunch was excellent. All the flavors worked well, with amazing house-made fruit jams. The space is lovely and the service was spot on.

It's just ok. We went for brunch and got a uova diavola, which was very bland/tasted like jarred tomato sauce, and a Dutch baby that was very small and also rather uninteresting. The coffee was fine and the ambiance was nice enough. Just overall not a place we would go back to. read more

Whit's End opened 2 days ago. I usually don't like to go to new openings as they are working through things still, but amazingly things went off without a hitch. This is my new neighborhood restaurant. It is just a few blocks from my home. They did an amazing job on aesthetics. The place is beautiful. The food is a bit pricey. The burger is $18 and the other entrees are $27+, starters are $6 (bread + EVOO) -$14 (shrimp scampi) Cocktails are $14, beers $6-$8. I won't be able to make this a weekly drop in bc of prices, but this is a nice addition to the neighborhood and a good renovation of the old Scott's Market that used to stand in it's location. read more
