Yavapai Plumbing and Heating Review - 4/27/2019 I strongly recommend Yavapai Plumbing and Heating for everyone's heating and air conditioning needs. A Trane XC95m communicating Energy Star furnace I purchased five years ago (from a different company) created leak problems from condensation in my attic. The water damage is very visible on my ceiling. Trevor, with Yavapai Plumbing and Heating, quickly identified the problem. He recommended that the existing 90% furnace be replaced with an 80% furnace because water damage from condensation would otherwise continue. Trevor referred me to Yavapai Plumbing and Heating Residential Representative Drew Christiansen in order to discuss available options. Drew proposed, and I accepted, an 80% furnace which - after installation - turned out NOT to be compatible with my existing Trane XV18 communicating Energy Star air conditioning condenser and the attendant Trane ComfortLink II XL950 communicating thermostat. Installation of an 80% furnace of a different brand resulted in the replacement of my Trane communicating thermostat with a non-communicating (and less attractive) thermostat. Most distressing was the unexpected result of my no longer having air conditioning in my home! Drew immediately (and courageously) informed me of the incompatibility which had been discovered after-the-fact. Drew also, most honorably, claimed full responsibility for erroneously advising me -- prior to installation -- that the installed furnace would be compatible with my existing Trane XV18 communicating A/C unit. He earnestly apologized for the inconvenience I experienced by the error, and promised me that he and the Yavapai Plumbing and Heating Team would make things right. Promptly thereafter, I was contacted by Yavapai Operations Manager Art Virrey, who assured me that the error would be corrected at no additional expense to me. As promised, the incompatible 80% furnace of a different brand was removed and replaced with a compatible Trane XC80 communicating 80% furnace at no further expense. Yavapai Plumbing and Heating nobly absorbed the additional labor, equipment, and materials costs for remediation. Most admirably, under Art Virrey's guidance, the team "turned a negative into a positive" by viewing the error, and its subsequent correction, as a valuable learning experience. No one was admonished for the unintended mistake. Art Virrey also gave me a huge discount on a Trane Clean Effects communicating whole house air filtration unit which complemented the HVAC system. Everything now is working beautifully. I am fully satisfied with the end result. The level of accountability and ethical customer service exhibited by Residential Operations Manager Art Virrey, and Residential Representative Drew Christiansen -- as well as the maintenance, repair and installation team of craftsmen [Trevor, Eddie, Zack, Chris, Billy and Jimmy] -- is extremely rare in today's competitive home maintenance and repair environment. I am truly impressed, and immensely grateful, for the "above and beyond" efforts expended by everyone on the Yavapai Plumbing and Heating Team. Their actions are especially exemplary considering that Yavapai Plumbing and Heating is not a Trane distributor. Residential Operations Manager Art Virrey must have had to jump through some immensely challenging hoops in order to obtain a compatible Trane communicating furnace for my home. Additionally, Yavapai Plumbing and Heating's craftsmen successfully mastered Trane's unfamiliar installation requirements - with no training curve -- in order to make my home's integrated HVAC system fully functioning again. I was devastated by the service I had with Yavapai Plumbing and Heating last week, but I have edited my previous post because the company has proven to me that they have outstanding customer service. Although I felt my complaint was legitimate, the situation completely turned around when the manager immediately contacted me personally with questions and concerns about my experience. I felt completely heard and supported. The manager went into action to guarantee this would not happen again. The company even offered some free services to make amends. All companies can make mistakes, but the true test of excellent customer service shows in how a company responds to a negative experience or miscommunication. I have never had a company in the past, that I had a disagreement with, turn around and show me such respect. The manager was truly concerned and disappointed about what had happened and wanted to know all the details from my viewpoint. I now know I can totally trust this company if something should ever come up in the future that I might have a complaint about, but I sincerely don't think it will ever happen again, because trust has been built. I feel totally taken care of by Yavapai Plumbing and Heating and treated as a loyal customer, which I have now become. read more

Woke up Sunday morning, 5th of July to a thermostat display which did not reflect reality. Weather report was for a Hot day. Vaguely remembered that Yavapai Plumbing & Heating provided 24x7 support. Called their number and was routed to on call Technician Jose. He took down our location and contact information and said he would arrive shortly. A short 35 minutes later he was at our door. A check of the condenser, heat pump and thermostat revealed that a fuse in the system located above the garage was the culprit. Jose looked like he had been taking a sauna up there after just a few minutes of diagnostic work. He replaced the fuse at no cost. He recommended installation of a hard start kit on our AC condenser to lessen electricity use and reduce wear and tear on the condenser. We researched hard start kit online and gave him the green light. He installed the kit then called his supervisor to get permission to waive the service charge. So we paid only for the kit. He was on his way in less than an hour. His attitude was positive, helpful and understanding throughout the service call. Kudos to Jose personally And to Yavapai P&H for coming through on a Sunday of a holiday weekend. They saved our butts. read more

We requested repair for a leaking brass shutoff valve that taps off of the main water supply to our property. We scheduled an appointment with the woman that answered the phone (she didn't identify herself). She told us that there would be an $88 charge to assess the problem and that "Daniel" would be at our home between 8-10am on Friday, June 17, 2022. After waiting until after 10:00am on Friday, we called Yavapai Plumbing to get an update on when Daniel would arrive. The same or another unidentified woman answered the phone and said that she had no record of our request, but she'd be glad to schedule an appointment. I guess we'll never know how competent their plumbers are, but we're fairly certain that the office staff needs a refresher course in basic customer service, including how to set up appointments and how to establish good customer relations by offering a name when answering the phone. If you want plumbing work done, at least in a contemporary time frame, find another company, preferably one that actually wants your business. read more

Over the last couple of years my air conditioning unit, (BRYANT), installed by Yavapai Plumbing and Heating in 2013, has exhibited a reduction in cooling ability. Previous service calls resulted in the addition of small amounts of refrigerant, with at least one case potentially attributed to loose fittings that allowed refrigerant to leak out. A similar condition presented itself again last week and the technician. Jose', evaluated the condition and added 0.5 pounds of refrigerant. BUT, he explained that the system was most likely being starved due to a fouled/failed thermal expansion valve (TXV) and liquid line drier problem Jose' is a courteous technician who took the time to explain the problem and today he replaced the drier and TXV. It appears my cooling issue is resolved! Jose' arrived when he said he would, was respectful of social distancing and cleaned up after himself. I typically do not give 5 star ratings, but Yavapai Plumbing and Heating is fortunate to have Jose' on their team. Thanks Jose'! read more

We recently met with Caleb from ACE Home Service regarding the installation of a new AC system for part of our home, and we were very impressed with his professionalism. Caleb was energetic, polite, and highly efficient throughout the entire process. He gave a clear and informative presentation, including photos that helped us better understand our options. He answered all of our questions thoroughly and sincerely, and what stood out even more was that he continued to respond to our follow-up questions even two days later. He took the time to carefully discuss all available options with us without any pressure, which we greatly appreciated. We were also considering another company and had interviewed another representative, but Caleb's knowledge, responsiveness, and professional approach definitely influenced our decision to move forward with ACE Home Service. Had it not been for Billy n Bill plus Art n all with Yavapai Heating A/C and The Good Lord's Blessing I would not be writing this company a review with applauding them for their attention to this customer's needs especially this time of year in the Winter. They went the extra mile in providing me a dual air n heater unit - 4 ton, after which I learned the builder of my home in 2005 put in a banned mfg. No more heater n a/c combo. But Thank God after 3 years moving into my home and the nitemares over tbe existing heating unit. Yavapai became an answer to my prayers. We have been using Yavapai Plumbing for ten years and had our first problem with a leaky shower faucet. After 2 days and hundreds of dollars it was fixed. The problem was it never needed all the parts and labor, including cutting a 8 x 10 hole in the wall behind the shower faucet. A mistake by the plumber led to this mess. I called The manager Art Virrey to get an appointment. Art insisted he would come to our house. He is extremely professional and a very good listener. He understood the problem and my concern. Without asking, he refunded every dollar I paid, without asking. I can't recommend Yavapai Plumbing enough. They are customer focused and provide exceptional service. We had just moved in and the master bath toilet plugged up. We are in a house without a phone book, local phone or internet. Called Home Depot to see if they could refer some plumbers in our area. They gave me the name and number of 4 companies (I really appreciated that). 3 of them said they were too busy and would come out in 3 or 4 days. Called Yavapai, expecting the same and the dispatcher called Rick, one of the techs, and then called me back to say he would be out in an hour to an hour and a half. Not only did he clear the clog, he hooked up my washer and dryer and inspected the plumbing in the house, including the water heater to see if we had any future problems coming. Great service, very knowledgeable and had the parts we needed on his truck. Call Yavapai next time you need a plumbing or HVAC pro. read more

When we called Yavapai Plumbing and Heating about our very old and breaking down hot water heater, the friendly lady who picked up transferred us to a very knowledgeable lady who patiently answered all our questions about whether to repair the one we had or install a new one. By choosing the latter we avoided a service call fee and directly set up an appointment just three days later for a new larger heater. Our installer was James, and we couldn't have asked for a more perfect gentleman and reliable worker, so generous too with information about the new tank. We will always ask for him in future, he is the best. Our new Bradford White 50 gallon gas unit delivers nearly instant hot water whenever we need it, well worth the upgrade. If I could give Yavapai Plumbing & Heating 10 stars, I would. Today, I had to replace my water heater and Daniel and Zack showed up and saved the day. They were friendly, professional and thorough. An exceptional team also came out in August to replace my A/C and heater that were 26 years old and on their last legs, which was another great experience. My first experience was in 2004, not too long after we moved here and our heater went out in December. I was out of town and my poor husband and dog were freezing. I called YP & H and they were out within a couple hours to save the day. I highly recommend this company and look forward to using them for my future plumbing and heating needs. Jose came out for an annual check up for our AC. (We had only been customers for about a year). He checked it out and made two recommendations. I hesitated but accepted the recommendations, and I'm so glad I did. He installed an improved capacitor and a 3ton hard start kit. Now the unit (right outside our bedroom) is so quiet it can be difficult to tell if it's running. Plus the unit is not working so hard and should experience a longer life. I trust Jose and Yavapai Plumbing and Heating to make truly helpful recommendations, not just for the sake of making a sale. We now use them for heating AND plumbing. read more

We had Yavapai plumbing re-plumb our whole house after finding a 2nd hot water leak under our house. Robert did most of the work with the help of Daniel on one day. Robert was very professional, explaining everything to us. He did everything he said he would do. This work was done on May 30, 2022. Robert was very careful when cutting through the drywall, keeping the damage to a minimum & saving drywall pieces for repair. This was very helpful with the drywall repair. The heating unit that was installed by Y P &H 4 1/2 years ago started acting weird. They sent JOSE GOMEZ out to check. After checking everything on heater and it was good, he checkeD thermostat. It was bad. Looking at warranty of 5 years still had time so he called manufacture Honeywell and arranged a replacement for free. She explained the cost upfront so there was surprises and a time when to expect the tech to be here. John called to explain he was about 15 minutes from my home and if it was a good time to come over. John was polite and courteous. A pipe between our shower and bathtub started spraying in the middle of the night. We called YPH and they sent Tony over right away this morning. Tony was able to create access to the exact location, repair the joint in question, and test our system within 1.5 hrs. We would have been in serious jeopardy had the problem lingered and/or been addressed by an unnecessary access point. A big thanks to YPH and Tony for saving our day...and our master bath. read more

My entire kitchen is tore up because of this leak in the wall. Mold has crept in as well. Insurance will cover new flooring, wall repair, cabinets and other things. My part was to find a good plumber. I called them on a saturday expecting to have to wait. Joel came within two hours and finished the leak within 15 minutes. Best $153.00 I ever spent. Peter came out for my annual plumbing maintenance and was on time, courteous, and professional. I requested him to come out again to install a new dishwasher. He did a great job, tested it to make sure it worked and did not leak, came up with an improvise for running the power cord that allowed it to reach the outlet so I didn't have to have an electrician come out, and was, again, on time, courteous and professional.
