I purchased a home with a gas fireplace that had not been serviced in years. Maybe a decade. I had AoD come out and do a routine service because the glass kept getting covered with soot quickly after turning it on. The first team that came out was unsuccessful in fixing the issue but AoD sent out another crew at no cost and they were able to fix the problem. They just needed to adjust the placement of the logs. Our house just had maintenance work done on our fireplace/chimney. We have used this business for several years now. The service was, and has been, excellent. We had two service techs come out; both were friendly and knowledgable regarding their work. They were very clean, which is always a top concern when having techs come in and out of your house. They were happy to answer our questions and weren't trying to upsell us on services we don't need. While these guys might not be the cheapest out there, their employees know what they're doing. If you're hesitant to use these guys because it means you'll have to shell out a few extra dollars, take it from me, it has been worth it. They say you pay for what you get, and I've gotten great service each time. Definitely recommend. read more

Ace of diamonds inspected my chimney and recommended repairs. We did all the repairs. 6 months later, we sold the house and the buyer had it inspected, finding more chimney problems. I called Ace back and they quoted me an additional $2000! Apparently the first inspection team was just incompetent. No effort was made to make amends. I emailed Ted on a Friday afternoon, heard back from him that evening, and was able to get Ace of Diamonds to do the job. Ace of Diamonds was very good about scheduling a prompt appointment at my convenience to have my chimney inspected and cleaned. The technicians were polite and kept everything clean. However, I was told it was unsafe to use my fireplace because it needed a new lining and the technician would have to give a report and pictures to Dave N. to see if they could make me a new lining. That was 31 days ago. I have called their office at least 3 times. Only once did I speak to Dave N., who told me he was not aware of my problem and had not looked at the photos. I have not received a call from anyone. I am moving on and will find another company to consider this repair. I do not recommend Ace of Diamonds for this appalling lack of follow up service. I do not want to miss the entire winter season while I wait for someone to get back to me. read more

I do not recommend Ace of Diamonds. I called to ask about having a fireplace insert installed. They didn't call me back. I called again. I spoke to someone who said my house might be too tall to get the liner in, but he'd call me back. Two months went by without a call back. I called again Monday. The receptionist promised someone would call me back that day. They did not. There are other good chimney companies out there. read more

It was on December 19th when a so called "Chimney Professional" from ACE OF DIOAMONDS Chimney Hearth and Home Co. made contact with us and diagnosed the problem with our Gas Fireplace as a bad Pilot Assy. A service charge of $185.00 was paid at the time. We got an estimated time between 1 and 2 weeks for the part to be in. After 2 weeks of waiting we contacted Dave the Manager there. He told us after much confusion on their part, that it was not ordered. After Several phone calls trying to keep on top of this issue, the part and their representative Sam arrived February 5 and attempted to repair the Fireplace. His diagnosis after installing the Pilot Assy. was it now needed a Gas Valve Assy. We were told it would be 1-2 weeks to get the part in after paying $303.93 for the Pilot Assy. After 2 weeks I called to find the status of it. Guess what, they didn't order it at which time they said it would be here February20th . I told them if it wasn't they could stick the part. Do you think after their terrible Customer Service and unprofessional incompetent repair people, they would have some sense of urgency to get this issue resolved? Maybe use Federal Express instead of Regular Mail to expedite the part? No not this company. Apparently they don't know anything about Customer satisfaction. Well I decided to see if I could fix the problem. Sure enough the switch was bad. I replaced it and now works Beautiful! ..oh btw they never did contact me about the Gas Valve Assy! There are many words to describe this inferior, unprofessional, disgusting, money hungry group of illiterates. They got my $488.00 without fixing the problem. I fixed it myself replacing a $10.00 switch. Now I have the pleasure to bad mouth them the best I can in every way I can. Hopefully they will lose some business because of my experience. Very grateful I tried this company! We purchased a new home with a gas fireplace that badly needed cleaning and a new fan. Everyone at Ace of Diamonds was knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. I spoke with several managers within the company, including the owner, asking questions, because I was worried that it might have to be replaced. I was able to schedule a service call within the week. Two technicians, Sam and Victor, came, right on time. They thoroughly cleaned the unit during that initial visit, assessed the problem, and were able to order the needed fan motor. We scheduled a return visit and I now have a clean, completely repaired fireplace, at what I believe to be a very reasonable cost. The techs took the time to show me how I can open up the unit, clean the glass, adjust the fan, etc. I'm SO happy! read more

Arrived right on time, masked, and worked quickly and efficiently to inspect our chimneys and clean out the main one (the other one is capped but they removed the cap, brushed out a trillion cob webs, and closed it back up. They were diligent in keeping the living room area protected from soot. After their service, TJ showed us pictures of the before/after effects and it was impressive. We were assured the concrete was intact. AND, TJ explained how we might have the 'unused' chimney relined (at some point in time) so we could use it again. The cost of this service was $280 and we felt it was worth every penny to give us peace of mind to use our fireplace again. HIGHLY recommend this company for your chimney service. BTW, this is the 2nd time we had AoD do work for us. They came recommended by BGE Home to run a liner into the hot water heater chimney--about 3 years ago--and, because we were impressed THEN, is why we chose to have them do the work NOW.
