The person at the frontdesk at the Lathrop station didn't wanna explain how to board the train and was extremely rude, condescending

Kinda…read more Modesto bus station is actually the Southern Pacific Railroad Depot, which has Modesto Amtrak and also Greyhound stopping here. It looks lovely and Spanish like many of the Cali stations do, and it's gorgeous just like a lot of the stations in California. New and shiny and all that good stuff. Its official name is the Downtown Transportation Center which is really not just a bus terminal but used to be the train station. It might start getting trains coming through here with the Altamont Corridor Express in about 2023. It's been used since 1993 exclusively for buses. And it has been open here since 1915, and this is one of many Mission Revival stations which is made to look like a Mission - and it's pretty gorgeous.

I visited on Sunday, 6/21/26 around 12:45 pm. When I approached the front desk clerk to ask for the bathroom code, the employee did not respond verbally and instead held up a board with the code, but did so with an attitude. Later, when I asked whether my train was on time, she rolled her eyes and pointed to the board displaying the information. I found this interaction to be unprofessional and awkward. Overall, the experience was disappointing and I hope that staff are reminded to treat customers with respect and patience.

Some buses are boarded on Weber Ave. This isn't as clear as it should be. If you're lucky enough to find one of their ambassadors of service, they will work efficiently to help you find your way, eliminating the confusion. You can reach most of the county from this center, and there are buses to Dublin/BART and Sacramento. Indoors, tickets are sold, but you must talk from behind the glass, so it can be a bit difficult to hear. Lighting outside is sufficient, except on Weber Avenue. Also, buses going to Tracy, Lathrop, and Manteca change where they are boarded, so be aware.

She just this past Monday came to my home directly after work with a friend it's actually on video that I will upload. They tried to jump me their employee even tried to hit me with her car and my husband had to stop her. We had to change our numbers, change the locks on our house. But she keeps threatening and harassing us. She is actually my husband ex. I never met her before until she pulled up in front of my home attacking me on Monday. I contacted her job RTD, AND THEY blew me off. This girl is mentally unhinged, we have also contacted the police and are currently working on a restraining order. She is also harrasing our family and friends. If a job is told their employee is attacking and harrasing people unprovoked, has proof and does nothing about it, especially when the job serves the public is crazy to me.

They also have a race lift for helping passengers on wheelchairs to get on the train. There is a café on site that was opened when I was here on a Saturday around noon. They have several garbage cans and the station looked very clean. I also noticed that there is no easy way to go from one side of the station to the other, the only way to cross is by walking all the way to Fremont Boulevard and then crossing there. There are parking lots on both sides of the railroad tracks and they are separated by a fence so like I said, if you need to go to the other side, just walk all the way to Fremont Boulevard and then cross. You have to pay for parking and they have machines where you can pay by using a credit card. They also have a bicycle parking locker and you can pay at the storage container. also, I did not think it was very easy to tell whether trains were running on time or not. There was a sign that was getting updated, but I still found it somewhat confusing. I think it's probably easier just to check the Amtrak app.
