Over priced .They want $95.00 and $70.00 Dollars for cargo pants.My neighbor this nice Mexican lady will sew as many pockets as you want on any pair of pants .So if you buy a pair of pants at Walmart or Target or anywhere else for $20.00 dollars or so ,she will sew cargo pockets on those pants for $10.00 or $15.00 dollars for each pocket .Still much cheaper than $95.00 or $70.00 just because the pants have cargo pockets. read more

Recently purchased 2 Under Armour polos that were sticker priced at $39.99 and when I checked the receipt I was as charged $44.99. Called the store and spoke to one of the managers to honor the sticker price that was labeled and he would not make correction. I definately will discontinue any future corporate orders. read more

I am a 62 year old Black man who was born in south Alabama.My visit to the store on 6th ave today caused me to feel that I was being discriminated against for probably the first time in my life. Without going into too much detail, I made a comment to that effect after being treated rudely by a manager who identified herself as Lori. I also did not appreciate being questioned by an employee who I believe called himself Manny, and being told by him not to disrespect his manager. If he and I had been in another environment, I would have educated him on lecturing people on issues that should be no concern of his. Needless to say, I will never do business with their company again, and will attempt to dissuade anyone else from going there. read more

I came in here looking for boots. A lady by the name of Jerri helped me out here. She was very nice and knowledgeable on the different types. Excellent service. Katia, Jessica, and Ricky all helped me out. Extremely professional and knowledgeable about everything regarding uniforms. I came back a second time (right before closing, sorry guys!) because I needed a uniform engraving done last second, and the person that usually does that was not available. Katia and Jessica went above and beyond to set up and figure out how to use the complicated engraving machine because they knew this needed to be done right away and we couldn't wait for Monday when the person who knows how to use the machine to be able to help. Eh , mixed emotions about this place . This was my go to place , first started coming here in 2012 . Customer service through the years 2012-2015 was stellar . A fella with the last name of Cuevas always helped me out and I always left content . I am not sure when he left or if he is still there . I Stopped coming here for a while because I moved out of town , finally moved back . Tons of new faces , different levels of customer service , some are smart a** , some go above and beyond . I'm not in fire anymore , but in a different field now ; private sector . Came here to buy a safety vest , I had a specific type of vest in mind ; something that would work with what I do in the field , I wasn't going to settle for a regular traffic vest with no pockets . When the gentleman took me the back , he started rummaging through boxes full of vests . None of the ones he was showing me worked for me , I can tell he was getting frustrated. He kept mentioning that lunch was getting close , I had told him before hand I was going to be picky because I needed a certain type of vest . Later on, this nice lady came to help and ended up finding me a decent vest . Not exactly what I wanted , but since they but in the time and effort to look for it ; I bought it . The price was very steep , but I felt committed, 75$ for a vest that I later looked up online and it was no more than 40$ . It is what it is , I'll use the vest until it falls apart . Make sure I get my money's worth . Just a month prior to this I came in and spent 300$ on 2 pairs of pants and some boots . Prices are steep if your aren't local government agency and or well known . Can't say I won't be back , because it's convenient at times . read more

I came into the Ace Uniform store first time several days ago to buy a lab coat. I walked to the back of the store where the medical uniforms were and inquired to a dark brown hair girl with a tat on her arm standing nearby counter about my specific needs. She hardly made eye contact and acted indifferent towards me as we walked into the warehouse storage area uniformed were in two boxes on shelf. She pulled a few out half-heartedly acted uninterested bothered to assist me any further being unhelpful. What I like to convey is that she did not make any suggestions, just an attitude like hurry up you're wasting my time and scat. Walking back feeling hopeless I was in a quandary as to what to do I was left hanging with no further assistance. Until miraculously a polite girl with an angelic like disposition took over introduced herself as 'Magali' warmly smiled states, "May I help you miss?" From then on it was VIP service she had given me. Ms. Magali was attentive, respectful and genuinely helpful with a compassionate disposition. I let her know that I was looking for a lab coat for school. She walked me over to a big rack of varying length jackets. Ms. Magali asked me what type do I need. I showed her an email I received with specifications needed. I had no glasses with me to see clearly the fine print. Ms. Magali read each line thoroughly clarified I was required to have a full-length jacket of any style. It stood out that Ms. Magali was very personable, pleasant, courteous and friendly. I was given the red carpet service when she selectively picked several uniforms for me. Ms. Magali gave me her undivided attention and focused on getting me the right fit by having me try on the lab coat making certain it was proper around the shoulders, length and style. She reminded me of a seamstress to a wealthy important person being attentive to every detail for a customize fit. Ms. Magali was knowledgeable about the myriad of brands that she informed me of its differences. I ended up buying two lab coats to have embroidered. Ms. Magali personally took me in the back to meet Kim, seamstress area to make certain the specific details were confirmed with a pick up date. Ms. Magli demostrated an outstanding stellar customer service skills. I was immensely impressed with the over the top attentiveness given that included further assistance from selecting shoes to socks etc. I noticed that Ms. Mafli intentions were to please give all she has to the customer such as myself left a memorable impression. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised that she went through each one on to select the one that would be best form fitting for me. I felt so important with her attentiveness to every detail in the selections. After trying on many we both agreed on the best fit. I bought two of them. Thank goodness to her assisting me in choosing and checking out how it appeared on me. I felt so special and respected. She gave her upmost attention to me in making certain that the embroidery personnel were aware of label I needed. Kim acknowledged she knew exactly which one to select. Every inch of the way I received personal attentive service from Ms. Magali 's warm personality made my day brighter because of her attentiveness. . I have been a nurse for over 20 years and I can tell her heart is one of compassion with good ole fashioned values that are a rarity these days. Refreshing to experience this kind of service especially, at uniform store, where one would be just a run of a mill customer. I believe others should emulate what Ms. Magali has because obviously she has it all figured out and exudes confidence, friendless with a goal of understanding a customer's needs that derives from active listening skills. I would like to extend a triple gratitude for her efforts. I will most definitely seek out Ms. Magali for further orders going forward at Ace Uniforms where she shines like a bright star from the heavens and I think it was God sent to have had her assist me at the store; I have been blessed. It's really unfortunate that Ace more or less has a monopoly on the San Diego uniform industry. Their service is horrible and, without fail, every time I go there something winds up messed up. I had them place a special order for me from Blauer. I needed two shirts and an external vest carrier. I placed the order and paid for my items. The next day they call and say my items were backordered and- to their credit- ordered me a more expensive carrier and shirts without charging me more. They told me my items would arrive within 7-10 business days and they would call. I called two weeks later to inquire because I hadn't heard anything. The lady read off my order for the original backordered items. You can imagine my frustration. I had to explain that I had already received a call that a different fabric carrier was ordered for me. She told me it hadn't been ordered and it would be another week or two before my items would arrive. She then put me on hold and came back to the phone and told me both my shirts were in but my carrier still needed to be ordered. The same lady called me two days later and told me my carrier was in. All I needed was three items ordered and it turned into a mess. Such a simple thing became an incredible headache. Their alterations department does a horrible job as well and I haven't met a single person who's actually received an alteration how it was supposed to turn out. Don't give this place your business. As I said, "WOW" - these employees are amazing!!! Jorge is extremely helpful, ensuring that I always find exactly what I am looking for. Also, Magali is prompt and sweet when it comes to helping me narrow down the choices to suit my needs. Staff in Ace is super friendly & helpful. They hace virtually everything I ever need for work (law enforcement). Their prices do tend to be a little on the high side, so I always recommend doing your research first. I don't typically take my uniforms to Ace for tailoring but was in a bind and needed a RDU uniform tailored in about 24 hours. I called, explained the situation, and was told to bring it right in. They should be able to get it done in an hour. I needed to go right to work, so I gave them until the next day. The guy doing the pinning and marking was super friendly. Most RDU uniforms are not made for women's bodies and have a boxy shape to them. Even after pinning, I felt there was a lot of left over material in the back of the shirt and in my waist of my pants. I asked if that could be fixed, they told me no. Then showed that I can pull the side strings of the pants to bring them in a bit. Yes, I've done that, but then I have bunched up material... The next morning I went to pick up the uniform and it wasn't pressed. Ok, I'll give it the fact that I was in a hurry/bind and didn't think to ask. But I'm even more surprised they don't try to up sell the service. So, I paid $33 for tailoring of 1 RDU pant & 1 RDU shirt that still look too big. Then had to quickly find a place to have it pressed. I probably expected that with the size and busy-ness of the store, they'd do the best uniform tailoring. I was a little disappointed... Store is good for whatever you might need, but Use caution with the tailoring! I've been working for the same agency for almost 10 years and all of my uniforms have been tailored. None of my shirts have that extra material in the back and my waist of my pants have ALL been taken in. Could it have been done, yes. Maybe it would require more time and they couldn't deliver, which would have been a reasonable, honest answer, but that's not what they said. read more

I have had the pleasure of coming to Ace ever since I started as a Police Cadet for my local Agency here in San Diego. My first experience with staff was fanominal! The staff immediately greated me when I walked through the front doors and kindly asked me what I needed help with. I was custom fitted for my Uniform and sized up for my boots and was quickly checked out. I continued to come to Ace Uniforms for equipment that I needed throughout the years. I truly felt that I became a part of the family setting that is so proudly shown by staff and every visit felt like a personal friend helping me with what ever I needed. 4 years later I am now going into the Sheriff's Academy and the staff were excited for my future and immediately helped me in to my new Uniform and new boots as well as other Academy Gear.
