When I tried again in the afternoon, he gave me an address and said his sister is helping him and will meet with me. Went to the home and the man introduced himself as Don so I was so confused. He said a business partner is sending him leadals, maybe that is Don? The woman (Loan) was very sweet who did my alterations. Anyway, whoever I ended up being sent to was ok but it wasnt Don and cant find her listing to leave a review there. Leaving this here so others are aware they may be sent elsewhere instead of Don. The alterations for 2 jackets were ok. One jacket was perfect but the other was looser and not quite as tailored. Price was cheaper than standard so I was not too upset, you get what you pay for.

I had the body length of the jacket cropped by about two inches, which also required adjusting the zipper. The stitching came out incredibly clean and looks professional--you honestly can't even tell it was altered. My dress was a shimmery, sequined dress that I bought online and it needed to look right on the day of pick up since the party was that night. There was no room for error with such a tight timeline. I thought let me check out the place on fifth. Now this alteration shop is in a dry cleaners despite it being a small area, it is very clean and organized. They have a three-way mirror and a real dressing room Laura the seamstress is very kind. She takes a great deal of attention to details when you fitting you to your garment. She will collaborate in what direction to go with your alteration. Which is awesome some shops will just do what they think is fit or to their taste. I've gone to her now A total of five times to trim dresses with difficult fabrics. I will tell you I can sew myself. I have a great sewing machine and a serger with cutting capabilities. These are the fabrics I find very difficult to work with, and probably take months. Miss Laura charges a decent price for alterations and can get them back to you in a timely fashion.

Rude employees. This is the most horrible store i have been to. The owner and the assistant both were so so rude and mean. They do not accept exhanges even when the sign says so. Quality of the uniform who cares. The string of the trousers just broke in 2 days. Customer service - zero. They dont exchange even if the sign says so! They hate females! Only if i had other option! My advice:- if you have an alternate DO NOT go this store. Plus i spent around these guys were the horrible horrible human beings on earth and Liars! Ask any EMT or COP! They overcharge items, check your receipt. They are very shady and dishonest. They overcharged me when I was trying to get fitted at work. They are the EMT / law enforcement supplier in SD. They are rude because they think you won't go somewhere else, yes you can. There are pleanty of places to buy your stuff online and at local stores. Save yourself the condescension and annoyance and go to the 5.11 store or Amazon. I'd rather make the random purchase there than have to deal with the rudeness here. I've tried and tried to support this business since its local, but I just can't deal anymore. Not worth the rudeness. If you're not a male customer you WILL be treated like a moron. What can I say? Ace is the Place! I am in the food industry and actually crossed over into the scrubs area - KOI Designer Scrubs, as I found a cute uniform for when I demo at fairs and such! They have an uber huge selection of footwear, chef coats, and pants! Why waste your time online? Although, you can order online through Ace too. I found parking just fine, was helped by great staff, used their tailoring service (perfect), and have my chef coat embroidered - which looks FANTASTIC!!! Yes, I am happy. I read the other comments - hey, everyone has a bad day, so don't let someone's bad day ruin your experience. Take some time to check out their selection. Compared to some online sites, their prices are pretty reasonable. Oh - their staff wears what they sell, and their names are embroidered on the shirts, so you can see the quality! What a great idea - their website was stitched on the back, I wish I would have thought of that! I hope you have an experience as great as mine! read more

This place is awful, and nobody there seems to know what is going on. On May 28, 2013 I placed an order for a stethoscope and sphygmomanometer. My credit card was charged for $123.42. By June 12th the items had not arrived. When I called to find out where the order was I was told that nobody was there who would be able to answer my question but they would have someone call and/or email me the next day with the information. Nobody called me or sent an email the next day. Subsequently I called again and was told that one of the items was no longer available and was no longer sold by the company. I complained that my order was held for over 2 weeks without any notification, yet my credit card was charged for the full amount. We were delayed in obtaining needed equipment because of the inefficiency of their internal systems. read more

I recently found myself in need of PROMT service for embroidery on my fight shorts and for a Probation Officer uniform for a series I act in where I portray a probation officer. I'm all in for this store, they offered everything for my job plus they hemmed the pants and put on the emblems right away so i was able to go to work the next day. Cool store also--they have everything--kind of surplus, kind of hip, kind of department store but with the family feel. They also did some embroidery while we waited too (that was a kicker). 5 Stars for sure--again they did everything and so much more and treated us like family---hard to come by these days FAMILY VALUES and great prices and service. My shopping experience is great / incredible with this company the past 20 plus years. The selection is always wonderful and the staff honestly first class -- honestly I read the reviews and they are always packed to the brim with customers -- I'm personally offended at the lopsided views this incredible company has--they are the best in the industry for sure (my shopping experience and that of our 3000 person department most shop their for the past 50 years). This place has the worst customer service imaginable. The extremely overweight toad behind the counter is lucky to have a job yet he pretends that the customers are lucky to come in the store. I have been burned by this unorganized dump for the last time. I pray for them to go out of business. I miss Galls. The only reason this "business" exists is because they have contracts with Rural Metro and SDFD. Avoid this lame excuse for a uniform store at all costs. read more

Great customer service. I wear a size 5.5 shoe in women's and could not find boots that would fit anywhere in San Diego county. Not only did Ace Uniform special order my boots and have them ready to be picked up before promised, they ordered two sizes just in case the size I ordered did not. I tried on a couple of things, and decided on some cute black pants with a white stripe. Super comfortable and flattering on. The other stuff I tried on was either cut a little weirdly for my shape, or too small. But, I'm happy with my pants. Athleta tends to be a little bit less costly than Vuori & Lululemon and not as pretentious, although their prices still skew on the higher side for athleisure in general. As we walked in I…read morewas pleasantly surprised by the variety of items the store has ranging from clothing, shoes, hats, backpacks and skateboards! The staff were ALL super helpful and knowledgeable about the product and also in helping us find the right watch. The watch that we liked was out of battery. The owner offered to switch out the batteries for us and highly recommended the watch to us. All of the staff members were rocking them. We couldn't pass up the opportunity to support a local business so we agreed. As soon as the watch was ready we received a text and we went to pick up the watch! We love it!! Thank you Ish and the entire Ish family for the great customer service!
