I called three vacuum repair shops in the greater Burbank area to find one that does Roomba repair. And I found them! Ace Vacuum was very up front and honest about the Roomba (aka "lil buddy"). I'm very emotionally attached to that Roomba. OK More like, it costs a lot of money to get a newer model Roomba and I wasn't ready to spend $500+ on a new one. Brought lil buddy to the shop. Their process is that they will evaluate your system to find out what is wrong, then call you so you can make a decision if you want to have it repaired or not (and call with a quote). They won't charge you to look into the issue, which I found reassuring. The quote was VERY reasonable. Not only was it super affordable, I got my roomba back even better than it ever was! Now lil buddy is back to his meaningless life of sucking up cat hair, and I can kick back and relax while my robot minion does manual labor for me. 90 day warranty means that even if my lil buddy tries to die in the immediate future, I can bring it back to Ace for fixin. I brought in my sewing machine a while back and am finally writing a review. I wanted the machine tuned up and told them about a knob that was sticking and difficult to turn. When I picked it up, the knob still didn't turn easily and, honestly, the sewing machine didn't seem to have been serviced at all. We took apart our "D" vacuum and couldn't put the ton of parts back together again. Probably like repairing a watch. LOL! Johnny was the only shop that offered to take the job on, but we both felt it wasn't worth it. He sold me a Sebo premium E3. First he explained the value of a vacuum with replaceable bags and then he demonstrated how easy it was to work with a canister vac. He was patient, kind, and it was fun as he explained it all to me. I researched everything and found his pricing to be the most competitive and the lowest price! I watched a YouTube of a Vacuum shop owner & this vac is his all time favorite one to sell & service. Every part is stamped made in Germany & it's a piece of cake to change bags and filters. I'll definitely take it in every 1-1.5 years to this shop for a tuneup cause it'll probably last 20 to 30 years. Wish I could give no stars. I had my sewing machine in the store waiting for a quote to let me know how much my repair would be. Weeks go by and I hear nothing (this is just for a quote). After almost I month I call and ask what is going on. I am reassured that they will get me a quote before they close that night...more days go by and nothing. So I go into the store to pick up my machine to bring it elsewhere. I give him my ticket number and he can't find it anywhere. It's like they don't even remember me ever bringing it in or me calling a few days before asking about it. He finally finds it after almost 10 minutes, after I have to describe it to him. The machine is coated in dust and dirt...so I am assuming it literally was never even looked at after almost a month of just sitting on a floor. Also the guy who is always there, kept telling me he was just the 'vaccum' guy. The owner is never anywhere to be found. Apparently they don't take customers in order of when they come in, other wise my machine wouldn't have been coated in dust and dirt on the floor. You would think for a small mom and pop store, they would want to take care of the customers that come in, since now adays these businesses are going out all over the place. Guess not. Never recommending to anyone to take their machine there. I will find somewhere else to take my business. read more

I had such a great experience with Ace Vacuum and Sewing in Burbank that I'm happy and eager to give them a five-star review. I like my Miele dishwasher, so I started there. While researching Miele vacuums I discovered Sebo, another German vacuum manufacturer. The Sebo site lists Ace as a dealer, and my policy is to buy from locally-owned brick-and-mortar stores if possible, so I drove out to Burbank. Johnny at Ace did what I wish my doctor would do, he asked the right questions - about my floors, my house, my budget, and my preferences - and listened, and directed me to the right unit that has the features I need and doesn't have the features I don't need. I paid the same price that I would have paid online, including a 10-year manufacturer's warranty, I got the benefit of Johnny's experience selling and fixing many brands of vacuums (including Miele), plus I got my vacuum cleaner then and there. It was such a nice interaction that I walked out with my Sebo K2 - actually, Johnny carried it out to the curb for me - happier than when I walked in. How often can you say that? I came here after I was gifted a Shark vacuum cleaner that was broken in some way. The brush would not turn. When I arrived, I was treated very well and the gentleman working was very patient with me as I explained the issue. He tested the vacuum for me and shared his thoughts and estimated price. I was delighted to hear such Reasonable pricing and left it for repair. When I came to pick it up, the vacuum had also been clean spotless which I was not expecting. Our vacuum stopped working properly so I called Ace (this is after some services were allowed to open outside of the essentials). Bill said he could check it out right then or I could leave it. I chose to leave it. The next day, he had resolved the problem (an overlooked re-set button!) and said there'd be no charge unless I wanted the machine serviced and cleaned. Dragan, let me be clear, I'm not out to cost you customers. My detailed review left out one fact that would have changed it to at least a three star! After your counter help gave me a verbal estimate of $300 to repair the switch, I asked if he could look it over and see if it needed anything else, since I thought $300 was a lot for a switch and though it was running fine otherwise, it was ten years old. You could improve and earn a better review by making it policy to put estimates and work orders in writing.No one ever showed me anything in writing, like a work order with details of labor performed or parts purchased ( Edit ) nor did the count help mention anything about extensive overhaul being done at the time of pick up. Ace was recommended by a friend after I had contacted many other sewing machine repair places to get my vintage Singer Genie repaired. None of them wanted to work on it because it is a complicated machine to repair. Dragan, the owner, told me he had experience working with this specific machine, and he did a very good job getting it running smoothly. My only complaint is that there were times I left messages and did not get a return call. Communication was not perfect but otherwise it was a good experience. DO NOT TRUST THIS BUSINESS WITH YOUR SEWING MACHINE. I never had a problem with broken needles but after $300+ for service, the needle hit the plate and broke every ten minutes, and when on the "center" setting, it didn't stitch in the center of the foot. I had to set it two settings to the right to get a center line stitch. Never happened until the day I picked it up from this place. They didn't call when they said they would, didn't finish by the date they said they would; I had to track them down every step of the way. The worst service- customer and technical work- they straight up broke my machine. I took it to Joanns on Riverside in Sherman Oaks and they were going to do the same service for $145, but they couldn't repair the damage this place did without charging more than the machine is worth. They didn't even charge me to look at it because they felt so bad someone did that to my machine. read more

All is well when it ends well...I took my old vacuum cleaner to be serviced and since I work in Hollywood and Ace Vacuum is in Burbank, there is a limited time when I can go pick it up from there. I know I probably should have called before I went to pick it up, but it was Saturday and it was supposed to ready. It wasn't. But they told me they get right on it. On Saturday's they close at 5:00 PM, so I went back around 4:00 to pick it up. They were working on it, but it still wasn't ready. It is not that I was going to vacuum on Saturday night, but I knew I won't be able to pick it up till the following Saturday. But then the gentleman (I believe it was Dragan) offered to bring it to me wherever and whenever I wanted to. And he did. I really do appreciate the customer service. I have a Eureka Excaliber vacuum that takes Y bags but not the Y bags found in grocery stores, Target, Kmart, etc. So far I've only found them at little Mom & Pop type shops, and Ace is one of them. They had two packages in stock yesterday and I bought both of them, so, if you need this particular style Y bag you'd better call first to make sure they've had time to restock. When you go, you may notice Yummy Cupcakes next door. Take my word for it. Do not go in. Instead, drive a couple miles over on Victory and get your cupcakes at Martino's Bakery. Dragan was utterly fantastic. I had my sewing machine mailed to me, and a part broke off in transit. Dragon fixed it in minutes, and asked me if I needed a refresher course on how to use the machine. Then he took at least 30 minutes to go through everything about using my machine. When I asked him how much I owed him for the three parts he replaced and the lesson, I think my jaw dropped to the floor, less than dinner!
