Terrible customer service, transmission failed right after they "fixed" it, would NOT recommend the place to anyone.

Within the first year of rebuilt transmission, a loud knocking noise started so brought it back to them under the "warranty." They stated it wasn't the transmission so I brought it to my mechanic who couldn't figure it out. Brought it to the GM dealership, paid $200 for a diagnostic, transmission and traction control light issue related to transmission. Brought vehicle back to interstate, said they would fix it and take care of related issue. Loud knocking noise were loose bolts inside transmission covered under warranty... Paid them $180 to fix TCM wiring. Week later car drives worse than ever, traction control light comes on and starts bucking. Brought back to interstate, they said it's not our issue, keys are in it. Give your $4k to another reputable transmission place, this ain't it. I want my money back.

They couldn't figure out exactly what caused it to fail, Only that it failed exactly like last time. Second rebuild is on its way out ,around 30k miles in this rebuild car is slipping starting the act like it did before. Brought it back to interstate 2 or 3 weeks ago, with concerns of slipping and metal in fluid . They said pressure readings are in range and no metal found on "dipstick" car drives fine .I personally dropped the trans pan to change the filter and found excessive metal on the trans pan magnet and a loose bolt sitting in the pain. I requested money back. Interstate said no not after 3 years. The counter offer was they could look at it and fix it assuming they found a problem. I declined the counter offer because if the interstate can't fix it the first 2 times then what's a 3rd gonna do

5 Stars - Trustworthy, Professional, and Woman-Friendly Auto Shop!…read more I found D&G Auto Repair thanks to the great Yelp reviews, especially from other women. My longtime mechanic had retired, and I wasn't sure where to go next until I discovered D&G Auto Repair on Yelp! In August 2025, I brought my car in for brake service (pads and rotors replacement). From the very beginning, I felt I was in good hands. Paulo, the manager, responded to my Yelp inquiry almost immediately. He was professional, kind, and attentive. He listened carefully to my concerns and explained everything in a clear, respectful way, something I truly appreciate. I felt a strong sense of trust that he genuinely cared about my car and my safety. When I arrived at the shop, Paulo was just as professional and kind in person. He made me feel confident in my choice to use to D&G Auto Repair. After I left my car, he followed up via text with an estimated bill before starting any work, which gave me peace of mind and control over the process. The shop itself is small but clearly run by expert technicians, and the waiting room is clean and comfortable, a nice bonus! I returned yesterday with a question about a noise I'd heard. Tony, one of the technicians, came out and personally walked around my car with me. He pointed out how clean it looked and even asked about repairs I had done elsewhere. He gave me a mini lesson on body repair which was surprisingly enlightening. He then gave me directions to the nearest Auto Parts store and Car Wash. That kind of extra care is rare and so appreciated. Overall, I highly recommend D&G Auto Repair, especially for women who are looking for a respectful, honest, and trustworthy place to bring their vehicles. I'll definitely be back!

The inside of the shop was sparkling sparkling and clean and the wonderful auto mechanics were friendly and always kept me up to date with the status of my vehicle! The invoicing was absolutely flawless and I was charged exactly what was quoted. In fact, I paid less than quoted, considering the extra repairs done as a military discount! The warranty is very considerate and generous, right along the lines with what the dealership itself offered. Furthermore, I paid about $2,000 less than I was quoted by the Chevrolet dealership in Putnam, Connecticut. Upon getting into my vehicle I was blown away of the performance! My Chevy Impala drives like brand new with 155,000 mi on it and a brand new transmission and I am confident I could probably drive it another 155,000 miles or more! This time shocks struts, tires, breaks and much more. Needless to say when I picked the car up a loud thump coming from the passenger rear and very shaky steering wheel. I brought it back and they said they didn't hear anything and it maybe the small bag of tools in the trunk, which I knew it absolutely wasn't. Nevertheless the son agreed to replace the rear strut thinking it may be defective. When I picked it up the next time I was only charged labor but it was still thumping. The father told me ya know the car is getting old, even though the thump was never there before the work. Anyway upon doing a very little research, my particular car must have different bushings if aftermarket struts are used otherwise there will be an unnoticeable gap and cause a thump. He rebalanced the tires to address the shaky steering which worked great but charged me again to balance. So I paid twice to balance the tires properly and still dealing with the thump. I refuse to go back at this point reason being they rip the back seat apart with grease all over as well as not reassembling the correct way. Oh ya the breaks have been squealing loudly since I picked up the car the first time, my guess is cheap parts. The son is more approachable and easier dealing with, the father is very ignorant. Very unimpressed

One of the reasons he chose them is that they offer a 3 year/36k mile warranty on their rebuilt transmissions. Wow, right? They fixed it almost 3 years ago ( our anniversary is 9/27) and on the way back from New Jersey - our transmission gave way again - and let me tell you, we were concerned about how to handle this. Mike was amazing - he didn't balk at all (at least to us) when he had to find a place that was as close as he could get to where we were brokedn down - Cherry Hill NJ - and that would take us in and handle diagnosing and fixing whatever transmission problem it happened to be. (I will yelp about Mike's Transmission in Collingdale PA too). Mike's Transmission in PA worked well with us and with FNA and although we had to stay in NJ for a few days, we were happy to get our van back. The one thing that I have to say about Mike at FNA - he is very kind on the phone with people like me who haven't got a clue. He is willing to work with us in ways that go above and beyond what the world has come to expect from a mechanic. Thanks Mike and Mary (the office manager) for being there for us!
