They didn't talk down to me because I'm a woman and they helped me pick out tires that were high quality but didn't try to sell me their most expensive. After my tire pressure light came on for the 4th time in 6 weeks, I knew I had a leak and the frequent pressure change wasn't due to changing temps. Been to Acorn Tire & Service in Naperville on N. Aurora road twice in the past year. Actually, live in Oswego. We've had 2 cars that we were purchasing inspected by Alan and this place has been the BEST EXPERIENCE we've had for any type of shopping or service. The staff members are always super friendly, they are accommodating with fitting us in for appointments (we've never had to wait long), wonderfully priced, & do an incredible job. I was about to buy new tires with life time warranty alignment from this place. But after I really saw all the condition and term. I find out it was kind scamming business. The guy showed "some screws that the car may need", the cost is very pricey. So if they want, they can easily excuse to not do the alignment. Unless you pay for the "screws and labor work". So at the end it can sound nice but not true No wandering why they have so bad reviews. read more

There are two locations near me and I have tried both. The one on Ogden seems to be cheaper but pushier on repairs; however, the one on aurora avenue seems to be higher quality service. Bought 2 tires from the Ogden store they suggested i needed upper control arms replaced. Oil change and alignment at the Aurora store they suggested alignment cam bolts and a tie rod needed replaced. The cost was over 600 dollars; however, the time they have in it will justify the cost on their end. oil change: 15ish dollars - i provided the oil, filter, and crush washer as i have a preferred oil cam bolts alignment and tie rod over 600$ - this is pricier than market average but not by much. it is frustrating to think that i could replace the whole suspension for a little over 1300 in parts (older nissan) Not giving exact prices as they have to maintain competitive edge against other small businesses. All in all they have good service and work hard to make the right decisions. Im not a fan of the price associated with their work but its not completely out of the norm. read more

I took my car in for an oil change on Thursday. When the work was finished I was told that I need new shocks, new tires, and an alignment. Ok. I will call next week to schedule service. Monday morning, I noticed a large lump in the floorboard of the backseat behind the driver seat. Took it directly back to the shop and talked to the manager. I opened the back door, he looked in "we didn't do that." "Maybe you hit a rock." Took my car to a different shop for an opinion, and was told it for sure looks like damage from the lift. I can't prove they damaged my car, and after having the earlier conversation I knew there would be no middle ground. I took my 4 year old vehicle to the dealership and traded it off. Word of advice, carefully inspect your vehicle BEFORE and AFTER service. A lesson I have just learned the hard way. read more

I visited Acorn Tire in December 2016 for an oil change. I couldn't have been more dissatisfied with the service. During the service, I was informed my vehicle needed a new serpentine belt, new front brakes/rotors and a new cabin filter I've since checked it and there's not one crack in my serpentine belt. Another mechanic confirmed this as well. My front brakes are only half worn, there's 20,000 miles left on them! When the tech learned that I'd be traveling with my vehicle over the holidays, he scared me into thinking that my vehicle should not be driven with the brakes in their current condition and that this $400+ service needed to be done that day. My cabin filter was changed in May 2016. I'm not sure what kind of racket Acorn Tire is running, but you can bet I will not be back. Rather than simply noting the mileage on my vehicle and concocting an assortment of unnecessary services, why don't you actually take time to LOOK at these parts rather than scaring people into unnecessary services. I've also emailed this to the manager five days ago and not heard a reply. read more

Dang it, it's the dead of winter and I've had two flats in less than a week! I bought a new set of tires just last September from Acorn Tires and that "road hazard" option is always a smart choice! These guys are the real deal. I got great service beyond what I expected. I thought I needed new tires after I went to a different tire place earlier in the day and they quoted me $300 for a new set. I had brought my car in because it felt wobbly when I drove above 40 mph. They promised they could complete the work within an hour and 15 minutes. After 90 minutes, and they hadn't even started working on my car, I left for an appointment I couldn't be late for. I later drove over to Acorn. They saw me right away. They said I didn't need new tires. They balanced my tires for $28 and I was ready to go after 45 minutes. They were professional, explained things thoroughly, and ended up saving me $270+. They are crooks. Aside from the 125.00 an hour labor charge, they charged 500.00 labor to replace a bearing, which is beyond ridiculous. In addition to a U-Joint, the total charge was over 1200.00, far more than any shop would charge in the area. And if that were not enough, the vehicle wasn't even fixed properly. A three-hour job at most, they claimed it to be nine hours. I went to a far better shop, and problem solved. When I showed them the Acorn bill for what they did, they literally laughed and verified how I was scammed. They also stated how Acorn did a poor job, as the vehicle was still clanking. The staff at Acorn would be lucky to get a job at Jiffy Lube. Avoid, avoid this place! read more

After reading very mixed reviews about this place, honestly, I'm surprised. I only worked with the manager, Matt. He was thorough and informative through the entire process. I just got an oil change and they did a great job. They let me know what was going on through the entire process. They informed me that there was a metallic tint in my oil which meant that there was some metal. Not good. They told me what was going to happen from there with my engine and sure enough they were right. I appreciate the honesty despite the bad news. I visit this store often Matt Jeff and Felix are very professional. I had some work done on my Jeep Grand Cherokee and they were very thorough with the issues in showing me what needed to be done . We've been going here for a few years now and everything was fine...until this last time. Went in for a break check and came out with my car sputtering and dying out. Apparently, when they checked the brakes, they didn't put one of the spark plugs back. So, I had to go back a second time. They fixed the spark plug and everything was fine until my hubby and his dad decided to do the break repair job themselves, since Acorn would have charged over $500 and they could do it for about $50. Went to take the tire off and found out Acorn had completely damaged one of the bolts holding my tire on so it was impossible to get it off. SO, we had to take it back A THIRD TIME. While waiting in the shop for the third time after taking my brakes to get checked, the manager comes over and quietly whispers that they'll "take care of it" for me. Like they are doing me a huge favor, fixing something they broke. This is my regular oil-change spot. The price is typical, they are fast, the waiting room is clean (plus free wi-fi/computer access), and every 6th change is free. They have never tried to push additional services on me. When they notice a problem, they show me what's wrong and explain the repairs with a detailed estimate. If I'm not ready to take on the expense, they tell me how long I'll last before it becomes a big issue. If there are any specials, coupons, or deals available, they let me know. I don't have to bring in the coupon to get the coupon deal. I would trust them with any car issues. They really try to do right by the customer. read more

Buyer Beware! I've been taking my cars to Acorn Tire on North Aurora Rd. for years for oil changes and tire rotation. I just bought new tires for my Jeep and explained to Discount Tires that I had a missing lug nut that was probably at Acorn since I just had my tires rotated in February. They proceeded on installing my new tires. I was called from the waiting room to come see the mechanic. He showed me there was NO way my tires were recently rotated due to the rust and uneven my tires were. I couldn't believe what I saw. I called and spoke with the owner of Acorn who of course denied and said that my tires were rotated every time I requested. He even went on to say he could prove it because he has cameras in his shop. I said ok, prove it to me and all is good. We hung up and he was to call me while he researched the camera. He did call back to let me know how sorry he was but even though I paid and it was logged they were rotated, the mechanic did not provide the service! He told me he'd give me a free oil change for my troubles. I then said I want you to check my other car I took the same day. He told me he looked up my receipt and I did NOT request a rotation that day. I told him I do the same for both cars every time. We hung up and I looked for my receipt. Of course I saw I was charged for a rotation. I called him back and he said, "oh I'm sorry I must have not looked very close", I told him I wanted him to check the camera for that car (same day as the Jeep) and guess what he said!? The camera isn't working right now! BUYERS BE WARE!! The tread on my tires was so different from front and back they told me they were probably never rotated. I stopped in to get some air for a low tire and they found a nail in the tire. I was told it was not repairable due to the location of the puncture and I would need a new tire. The owner apologized through him for the confusion and offered services in lieu of the credit I thought I was getting. I've since brought my car in to utilize those services. They were quick, professional and got the services completed as expected. I had my brakes done. I was told only $219.00 plus tax. I had a $20 coupon but that only covered part of a $27.00 shop fee. Are you kidding me? I was never talked to about this and when I went to pay the short little manager simply didn't care nor really even said anything. If fact he acted almost stupid like he didn't know what to say! I have used Acorn Tire service for many years. People are very friendly there and they do quality work. Mechanic Allen is very skillful for many tasks, particularly good at wheel alignments, tires balancing, and brake services, etc. I like Acorn's life-time alignment and Nitrogen gas programs. I can tell that the life of the tires of my cars increases significantly with their program. And I no longer need to pump air for my tires often - with Nitrogen gas filled now - no more air leakage due to corrosive winter road salts! Store manager Matt Montgomery is also very sensitive to my needs in choosing the right tires for replacement. All my family cars service with them - my BMW X1, Honda Odyssey, CRV, and Pilot. STAY AWAY, CUSTOMER SERVICE AT AN ALL TIME LOW AT THIS PLACE.. I spoke to the new service Manager Jeff. I am very very disappointed at the antics of Acorn tire. I have owned several luxury cars and had them serviced at acorn and this has been my very worst experience. In December, I decided to have our Truck serviced at Acorn and paid well over $2100 to have injectors replaced #1 and #3 according to the paperwork. At that time i was NOT given the option of having the entire rail(sp) replaced. This has caused a snow ball effect on my transmission and engine. Had we been presented with the OPTION i would have opted to have them all replaced to avoid my truck being out of service and loss of Revenue. No your NEW service Manager Jeff is OFFERING to charge me to rectify the problem. HE states he is helping me out?? HOW. How has ACORN TIRE placed this BURDEN on me to fix, pay for and finance their over sight! As a business owner this is a risk/responsibility that comes along with screening your managers and technicians to make sure they are qualified and forthcoming to your customers. The resolution that was presented to me by Jeff is unacceptable. We would NOT be here if I was given the option to replace one of all of the injectors in December, instead my vehicle has not been able to operate to its fullest extent. I was told by a third party that the work was sub-par and looked questionable. Its not my burden to explain or look for answers as to WHY your former manager never presented me with options and released the vehicle with incomplete repairs. I was billed in excess of $2100 for the repairs and subsequently suffered and additional $25,000 in lost revenue! Why wouldn't i have invested in the repair costs at that time verses risking the truck being inoperable. I respectfully and wholeheartedly feel that ACORN should make this situation right. I am attempting to reach out the the "upper hands" as Jeff refers to them as, however this is a Very serious infraction at the hands of ACORN. I am prepared to escalate this, however I was told to attempt to resolve with Acorn FIRST which is what I am doing . This has been a very frustrating ordeal with Acorn tire acting as if they are doing me a favor? HOW , by charging me to resolve their oversight? This manager was working for Acorn so therefor his negligence is the burden of Acorn and its Independent owner FRANK, not me. After several emails FRANK ALEMAN finally told me to have a good day, his sarcasm and indifference quickly grew as i kept asking him and his facility to take responsibility. Have been going to this location for a few years out of convenience, but during the last couple of visits have found the service to be less than desirable. Requested an oil change an a lightbulb be changed and when I turned on the lights that night, the bulb was still burnt out. The bulb had to be replaced by someone else. Fortunately, Acorn apologized for the inconvenience and credited us, but I question the what else they are not doing correctly. Was quoted $430 for spark plug replacement, which is highway robbery.
