I paid this business to remove my popcorn ceiling and put a smooth coat on like the other rooms I had completed. Two men showed up to remove the acoustic and left it lumpy and ripply with pieces of plaster hanging. The corners are all unfinished with pieces of acoustic remaining. The ceiling looks horrible! Bob with AC was the first quote I received on my popcorn ceiling removal and had the best price by over grand!! We were excited to hire him. We even asked him if he could paint all of the inside walls of our 1700 square foot home and keep the price reasonable, and he did! The job took 3 days and the ceilings looked impeccable!! However, there were some errors with the paint on some walls that were visible after it dried, but Bob offered to redo the whole place at no cost! So far not impressed by this company. I had no option but to use this company as my condo's HOA sent them to repair holes left by the HOA selected plumber who had to repair a leaky pipe in my unit. Scheduling the repair was fine except that I was a little surprised to be told to call back the day before the scheduled day of repair to confirm the appointment. Huh? Isn't that normal protocol for a vendor to contact the customer and confirm? Whatever, fine. I confirmed but was told it would be a one hour window between 8-9 AM which was different from when I scheduled the appointment and requested 7:30 AM and they said that would be fine. Day of, the repairman was a no show during the advised 8-9 AM window. I called Bob the owner (no answer) then texted him to get a status update when no one had shown up by 9:15 AM. At 9:25 AM the repairman called me and advised he was 20 minutes away which obviously wasn't the case since he arrived at 10:10 AM. After the repairman surveyed the areas needing repairs, he advised that he may not have enough drywall to repair all the holes. WTF?!? I advised him there is a Home Depot not even 10 minutes away so please do what is necessary to make it happen today as I could not afford to take another day off from work for them to return to finish the repairs. The repairman reevaluated the repairs and miraculously determined that there was enough drywall to finish the job in one day. Next issue, how long will it realistically take I asked? The repairman advised an hour and a half. Really, that's great, are you sure? Oh yes, an hour and a half he tells me again. Well, apparently time works differently on planet Acoustical Ceiling.....three hours later and they finished. The repair work was good the clean-up not so much. They shot texture on the walls and seemed to think my carpet and flooring also needed it. I was cleaning up their mess after they left since I didn't notice it before they signed off. Also, I'm still waiting (two weeks later) for a call back on getting someone to paint the repaired area. I was told by the repairman they would do that if the paint was a generic white or even the popular Swiss coffee which they carry. At this point, I just bought the paint myself and wrote them off as I don't want them back in my condo. I'd say you have a 50/50 shot at getting a good outcome from this vendor. I give them two stars for the actual repair work the rest of the experience was a negative for me. read more

I recently hired this company to do work in my bedroom. The first time we scheduled (which was one week in advance) the appointment was set for 1-3 pm. I got a call at 315 that they were on their way. At 5, still not here. Finally they show up around 5:30, not prepared to do the job (they didn't have the proper equipment). So after waiting all day, we has to reschedule. Upset about this, (I had a painter scheduled to come the next day) I called Bob, who was very unempathetic. I should have known to use someone else at that time. They showed up on time at the reschedule. I thought that they did a great job. My ceiling and lighting looked beautiful. However, after the staff left, I noticed money missing from my wallet that I foolishly left out (I was in and out of the house and it wasn't in my view all the time). I turned the house upside down trying to look for it- not wanting to believe it was taken from me. When I called Bob to report it- he have me nothing but excuses and told me that he had a "hard time believing his guys would do that". He even had the nerve to tell me that I misplaced my own money. Would I REALLY have called and taken my time to call an owner if this didn't happen??? He said he would be meeting with his staff the next morning for more details, and would call me back first thing to "figure this out". It's been a week today, and he sure charged my credit card, but has he bothered to call me back? WOW. Customer service is extremely important in this day, where competition for business is at an all time high. If Bob had called me back and professionally handled this situation, I wouldn't be here writing this review. I think it's important for people to know what kind of business you're dealing with here- once they have your money, the customer service ENDS. Look elsewhere! read more

We have used this company twice..First experience was great..popcorn removed ceilings re-textured and painted..looks great. Second time not so good..hired them to pull out light boxes in two bathrooms and kitchen and replace with recessed lighting..also re-texture all walls and ceilings in both bathrooms and kitchen... what should have been a two day job turned into about four days...second they put all the light fixtures in place while everything was still wet..duh..than the patch job they did not stellar. You can clearly see the patch job..the light over the kitchen sink is not sitting correctly..also the areas where cabinets were removed per the owner "do not worry you will not see those marks" Clearly they are still visible as well as the marks where the bathrooms mirror was..I am typing this as I have waited since 2pm for them to come back to correct these problems...Unfortunately no show and no call.. Very disappointed I would be very careful with hiring them to do work... Their customer service skills leave something to be desired! read more

He Scheduled work to be done less than a week's time after responding more than once to my questions. Bob said he would call to confirm my appt the day b4 (which he did around 4:30pm) to tell me his crew would arrive at 9am). David & Mark arrived 10mins early & immediately got to work moving things, taping plastic from ceiling to floor protecting my furniture as well as me from fumes etc. They did a Fantastic job finishing everything including complete cleanup before 12 noon. Both men are very Professional, passionate about their work & safety for the customer. They have a lot of yrs/experience which it clearly shows. Update- giving four stars. One less for communication and one missed wire. I'd give five stars for everything else. I ended up hiring a friend to solve my wiring issue and it was a simple fix with a wire that was not tied in properly. My buddy decided not to charge me for the help so that was great. We finally had our new globe delivered and installed. Appreciate the follow through on that. While at the house they asked about our electrical problem and asked what my electrician charged - sounded like they wanted to cover that cost. Great gesture in their part. Though it took longer to get a response my wife and I appreciated the offer to make things right. Would I hire these guys again? Without hesitation to do my ceilings or texturing some walls - they did an awesome job and were really great to deal with on site with great cleanup. It's been over a month now and I still look at the ceiling and walls and love how great they look. Fans- I'd call my electrician friend in for that part of the job - but hey, sometimes you miss a wire but no lights in the master bathroom for three weeks makes an unhappy wife = unhappy life for me. read more

Totally wasted my time. Called me at 9:43 to say he (Bob) was going to be late for a 10 am appointment. Said he had a late delivery arriving between 10 and noon. I told him I was available all day, so he said he would call me when he was done. At 3:27 pm I called him and had to leave a message. At 5:37 pm, no return call, so again, I called him. Had to leave a message. Message basically was "we are done here" and "expect a bad review". So, here it is, as promised. I expected at least a follow up call. Bob and his crew have done two projects for us, thus far, having removed the acoustic in all but 1 room of our house, replacing it with an Orange Peel texture and painting the ceilings. I was surprised to read some of the lower rated reviews, because my experience with Acoustical Ceilings, Inc. has been amazing. They have been on time, the estimate process was comfortable, and Bob is very skilled and knowledgeable. We had popcorn ceilings removed, then textured and painted this past week. Joe and another worker completed the job in less than two days. This was for the living room, one bedroom and hallway. They sealed off other areas with plastic, plus covered the furniture that we couldn't move from the room. The mess, in my opinion was minimal and thoroughly cleaned up. I was expecting a lot worse. Bob's crew just finished work at my house. They fixed some drywall patches and retextured/repainted the majority of my ceiling. His crew is great! BUT I cannot give the company 5 stars. Bob needs to learn how to communicate better with his customers. The crew was at least 3 - 4 hours late arriving on Day 1. Bob should have called me and didn't. When he quoted my work, I specifically requested Dunn-Edwards paint which I feel is superior to every other paint product. But today the crew starts to paint with I saw they intended to use PPG paint. This was contrary to my instructions and I was not happy. The crew had Bob call me. He said that he believes PPG is superior. I finally agreed and allowed the work to be completed. But it is horrible customer service to ignore what the customer requests and to simply expect them to accept whatever you want to do. I would use the company again but with much more being put in writing. read more

This is the third time we have used Acoustical Ceilings. The work, as in two earlier jobs, was excellent. The only reason for not giving a 5* rating this time is that it did not do a very good job of keeping me up to date on scheduling. They were running so late on the first day they were supposed to get here, that I had to reschedule for the next day which was done. Since it was Friday, I was told they would be back between 10-12 Monday to finish the job. After not hearing from them, I called at 3 p.m. and was told there was a mix up and I was not scheduled. They did come back the next day to finish the job. As I said earlier, the work was excellent and the pricing was very competitive. Now if we can only get them to be on time!! read more
