Hannah and Tina are literally hilarious. The place is below my office so I go often. Originally, when they first opened they were not the best but they have significantly improved in service. I get gel manicures and pedicures there. If they aren't that busy, they will help you out by doing both at once which of course is lovely if you want it to be fast. I finally got the balls to get my brows done their too and they were actually really good too. Wish I remembered the girls name who did them. Just ask for someone who is actually good and be willing to wait if need be. Hannah I heard is the best but I haven't had the privilege yet. Came here for a pedicure and I was seen immediately. Cindy took her time with me and was very gentle with everything. The salon is clean and very sanitized. All tools used for a pedicure are fresh out a new pack for each client. They use the plastic caps to put in the tub/sink to soak feet in. While this place is small, it's modern, clean and has a number of staff members so you never have to wait long. They do SNS nails, gel and all the other standard offerings. PLEASE READ! I walked in as I live around the corner and got a pedicure and full set here. They have good color choices and options. The pedicure was exactly what I wanted, and was looking forward to my full set. Every single one of my fingers is a different shape, different length, different thickness and half of them are crooked. Just got an eyebrow ($12) and lip ($8) wax by Ivy. I love that they take walk-in clients (of which, I was one)--makes it so easy to plan. Ivy was great and very professional. I had never had a professional wax and was very pleased with my result. The one thing to note is that they only take cash tips (you can pay for the wax with credit card). So definitely check this place out and bring some cash for the great service. read more

I'm a transplant from Michigan who's still trying to find good places for my nails and hair. I went in to Acqua Luxe for a mani and pedi in the middle of a weekday, no appointment. They have a good selection of colors. The massage chairs were great and the basins were clean. They're a closed system so you don't need to worry about other people's germs cycling through the water. That's always a good indication of the place's sanitation practices. My gal did a great job of shaping my nails and cleaning up my cuticles. After I was done they had place to sit and dry your toes and fingers. I love when places have that because I always ruin a nail or two when I let them dry normally. She seemed to sense that I wanted to be completely dry before I left, because after I had been sitting there for a while she came over with a drying solution to drop on my nails. While I was there a woman came in who they knew well. She went in the back for waxing. She obviously comes here frequently for that. I picked a polish with a ton of glitter in it so it peeled off my nails a few days later. It held up better on my toes. But that's normal for super glittery polish and not the salon's fault. My nails looked great after I took the polish off because she shaped them so well. In total I paid around $50 for both the mani, pedi, and a tip. That's the price of getting just a pedi back home. They took credit cards. Will definitely return! I plan on trying out their eyebrow waxing. read more

I dont understand why people still go there, maybe because there are two sister that constantly make silly jokes... not sure but the service is definitely bad. The nails will chip and popup (dipping powder) in 3-4 days. They are absolutely careless, disrespectful, and unprofessional people who only wait for the moment to overcharge you. The two sisters act as the bosses even though I believe they are not the owners. Unfortunately there are not good salon in the neighborhood and they take advantage of that. This place gets one star because they're extremely nice. However, I've been here maybe twice (it's close to work therefore convenient) and have never had a great gel mani. Last week I got one right before a trip and the very next day my nails we chipped. Now, a week later, every single gel has come off of my nails. My nail technician, Thy was the best, throughout the process she confirmed that she was shaping my nails to my satisfaction. Even after she was done, she came back to check on me making sure my nails were dried before I left. This place is also quiet and very clean. It was relaxing just to be there. Cons: no price or service list, no website, and nothing in the actual shop. I have no idea what they do... Do they wax? If so, how much? I got a full set with 1 solid color and it was $40, not too bad, I think gel nails were $35. Also I was not able to tip on my card, I ended up going to CVS and getting cash back (I had to go to CVS regardless). Bottom line I will return. My nails are perfect and they are convenient to go to. read more

I have had good experiences here previously, but today, my nails were filed quickly and very unevenly and my gel polish dried with bubbles and a couple tiny strands of cotton from cotton balls. Do NOT get your eyebrows waxed here. I discussed thoroughly with the technician that I wanted my brows AS IS in their natural shape and thickness, I just wanted the surrounding areas cleaned up. I said I want them THICK multiple times and they agreed and claimed they understood. Well after she waxed the first brow she handed me the mirror.... And my god. My brow had gone from full and natural to the 90s Madonna sliver of barely there brow. She waxed off half of my brow from both sides and it was also in a horrendous curved shape... NOT following my natural brow whatsoever. I started to visibly get upset and said that is not what I wanted and did not want that much taken off. She brought in another technician who waxed my second brow better but of course now they do not match. I told them I have a wedding TOMORROW and another wedding in a week and made it clear this is not what was discussed. They didn't charge me for the brow waxing but the damage has been done. I went to my car crying and rushed to buy brow makeup because I'll be coloring in ONE brow to match the other everyday. Beware. read more

I think my nails actually look worse now than they did when I walked it. My cuticles look like I stuck my hand in a blender, the paint job is a mess, it's just so bad. I would prefer they just tell me they don't have time for a manicure rather than rush through and do a bad job. I would have come back at a later time. read more

The story begins with me calling ahead of time to ask how much they charge for a polish change. I had told myself that if it was the same or less than my regular place, I'd take this as an opportunity to check them out. The person on the phone said $8. Since my usual place is $10, I was like, hey, let's give this a shot. I arrived, nice place. Nice staff. Everything was going well until I had to ask the technician, when she finished, to please clean around the edges. I thought it was odd that I had to ask for that. Strike 2 was when I was asked to pay and they told me the price for a polish change was $12. I very much would have had no issue with paying that had I not called earlier and been quoted another amount over the phone. I was fuming, but obviously paid what was due. Strike 3 is that 3 days later, my nails are chipped for no reason. Definitely sticking with my regular place. So much for trying something new. read more

hit and miss. i have gone there and notice that it was quite clean but this time it wasn't clean in so many strikes. not always clean between and after use, reuse the stuff that was suppose to be single use or the sanitize the non disposable equipments or tools. not washing the hands between customers, or touching cash or wearing gloves. as much as it is so convenient to go there without an appointment, i would not want to risk getting infected there. as for their work, it depends on the day and who you got. it only takes one person who didn't follow the cleaning & sanitation protocols to contaminated the rest. i would rather pay $10 more to go somewhere clean with a peace of mind, there's not enough discounts to risk getting infected. read more

I went to get a full set of acrylic nails. Within two weeks, about 3 nails had popped off. I ended up buying nail glue at CVS to hold them on. I went back to this place two weeks after getting them done for a fill in (BIG MISTAKE). I went in and told the lady that 3 nails had popped off and I glued them back on, thinking she would just replace those nails. She proceeded to cut off the lose corners of the nails, like all nail places do, but as she did about every nail would just pop right off. She goes "OMG where did you get these done". I told her here, two weeks ago and she was shocked. I told her, as she rips off what left of nails I had on, that I was not going to pay for another full set of nails as I just came for a fill in (which I think a full set is $55 there). She said of course not and continued ripping them off. The whole time she was constantly telling me how terrible the nails were. She finishes and talks to her boss and charges me $45. SO I GOT 10 OFF FOR THEIR TERRIBLE QUALITY. I pretty much walked out with a new full set of nails. I am now a week into this set and have had 4 nails come off....one when I was putting my jeans on this morning. Terrible quality, then they take them all off (in shock at how crappy they are), and then make you pay almost full price AGAIN. Seriously don't give them a cent. I will never go back here again. The management seems like the problem. read more
