I used yelp to help me locate a decent nail salon as I am new to the germantown area. I am soooo happy I stumbled across the reviews for this salon. I have been to two other salons here and my nails were horribly done. I spent $50 at A1 nails for Christmas and when the nail tech was done my nails were lumpy and uneven. I'm from NY and was so disappointed, I used my metro card to pluck the crap off!! This salon, Aqua nails, is god sent!! Yea the nail techs talk to each other but they do an awesome job. This place is great. Lee is amazing here, ask for her! I travel every week for work, so get my nails done at different salons all over the east coast. This is the first one that I felt I needed to post for. Very relaxing environment and clean! Lee was very sweet and she really makes the place stand out for me. So I got my nails done yesterday and at a nail salon today trying to get them fixed. So paid $60.00 to them and paying another $30 today to rectify their work. I had a guy and he said I needed a new set. I said to him my nails look too thick and he said something I didn't understand. After asking him like 4 times I realized I wasn't going to be okay with his answer. They looked worse than Lee press on nails!! So bad. I went to Exquisite Salon today and they couldn't believe either that guys work. So $90 later my nails look decent. Horrible! Horrible! Horrible! read more

First let me say that I never go to this place, I wanted to try because of the yelp reviews. What a huge mistake The owner and employees are rip offs! They charge outrageous prices and are not friendly. I took my daughter and my niece for pedicures and to get their nails painted(no manicure). They did not put a hot towel on my daughters legs, but put it on my niece. They were talking in their language and did not provide me with pricing until it was time to pay. Apparently they charge almost 20.00$ for a pedi, no matter how terrible their pedis are. The nail polish is sloppy and did not last more than three days. I will never go there again! To top things off the ritzy ladies that go there are nosy and need to keep their two sense to themselves, not everyone likes to get ripped off. Nice new clean nail salon. There isn't much of a waiting area. I felt bad for a few ladies who came in with an appointment and had to wait at least 30 minutes. The place seemed very quiet even though there was top 40's playing. I think I was disappointed because I picked a color I'm not fascinated with. Especially since after my manicure I noticed other colors I liked that weren't put back with the other selections. I also think I'm just spoiled by a place in Rockville that feels more pampering than any other place I've tried. read more

The last 3-4 times I have gone there everything is great, friendly staff, take their time, good selection of color and soak off gel match (could have more matching combos) and pretty clean. In the germantown area, it's the BEST salon! However, the last 3-4 times have left the salon, I've been very disappointed that there was little shine on my mani, almost dull or matte. I think they need to simply use different alcohol wipes at the end. A 70% alcohol will effect shine to make it appear dull in a soak off get mani where if you use a 90% alcohol it will be super shiny. I hope they fix this. Unfortunately I have avoided going back after a number of times getting this dull sometimes tacky finish. read more

My mom and I came in by accident. Another place close by was all booked up. I liked the friendly staff. Lisa was very skilled and gave me really massage for both feet and hands. Acqua Nails is by far the best in Germantown. Not only is this place insanely clean, but the prices are very reasonable. If you pay with cash they give you 10% off! I went to Lisa and she was great. I'm very picky about the shape of my nail and she made sure each nail was even. There is a great selection of polishes and the place is very quiet. read more

I've come here once in awhile with family members to get pedicures and they do a pretty good job. They will give you a discount if you pay cash, just don't expect it to be exactly 10%! read more

Great place! Clean salon, relaxing and great price! Ask for Lisa, she's the best. I got a mani and pedi in 1 hour and 15 minutes; long lasting too. They offer waxing but, I've never tried it. They take walk-ins too but, I always make an appointment. Go see them! read more

I really enjoyed getting my pedicure and nails done. I was super impressed, really nice staff and I was completely satisfied. I didn't feel rushed and it was very relaxing. Best nail salon in Germantown! I have literally been to every nail salon in the Germantown/Gaithersburg area and know all the best ones. This salon has it all - brand new so everything is super clean, awesome professional (and friendly!!) technicians, amazing color slections, currant magazines to enjoy while you're drying. Additionally, I've had my eyebrows waxed by 3 different nail technicians that work there and they all did an amazing job. Love, love, love this place!! read more

It was a nice experience without an appointment. The tech was very professional and skilled. It was a great and relaxing place.

First, they were late opening their salon. Sign says they open at 10am, they stroll in at 10:15am. Then they are rude and condescending at this salon. I wanted to use a spa liner for my pedicure and the nail technician rolled her eyes and started laughing. I was even making it easy, I brought a brand new liner for there bowl. They wear gloves, it only makes sense to use a liner for the pedicure tub. I can't spend money in a nail salon that laughs and rolls there eyes at proper hygiene techniques. Go to dejavu in Clarksburg, there spa liners are standard and they care about proper hygiene. read more

I read really good reviews about this place so I was excited to try them. I went on a weekday around 430ish I noticed all the chairs were full so I asked how long was the wait. They stated can you come back at 6? Mind you no one was waiting, everyone was in a chair so I didnt understand why the 90 min wait. This was a complete turn off. I feel as a business a customer should never be turned away especially for 90 mins. I wont be visiting here again read more

I had been coming to the Germantown location since I moved up this way last November. Up until this week, my experience had been good, except for the previous time when the man-worker (possibly the owner) failed to offer me a discount for paying in cash , as is their policy. This time, I inquired about special pricing (prices weren't posted) for a mani-pedi as I wanted a pedicure and my 14 year old daughter wanted a manicure. I was told that the price was $37 for a mani-pedi, but I didn't qualify, since my daughter and I were splitting the service and I'd have to pay more. I explained to them that I was paying the full bill and asked that they reconsider. Since the answer was still NO, I went down the street to their competitor , who charged me $30 for a mani-pedi , which my daughter and I split. The competitor was courteous , did a good job and was appreciative of our business . Aqua Nails lost a customer. read more

Updated because of 2 recent solid experiences. I had a gel manicure and pedicure about 3 weeks ago. The salon was quiet, and the service wasn't rushed. Today, I got a regular manicure and eyebrow wax. Again, they weren't busy, so the service wasn't rushed, and the manicure was good. There are still too many cell phone convos--both customers and technicians, including one by my tech during my service, without excusing herself or apologizing. Ladies--lets keep our salon time sacred. I really don't need to know ALL about your business anyway! read more

I couldn't believe this for the third time they telling me that they are busy I'm going back. I just walked in and there were only one customer sitting and more workers not doing anything. I would seriously avoid coming here if you're looking not to get ripped off. I went in today to get a gel fill and first off, it was hard enough to try to find a polish i liked. All of the colors they had weren't that pretty and they didn't have any bright spring colors I was looking for. So, I picked two colors (the only brights ones) and the polish seemed really thin so I had the technician chose a darker shade for me. Little did I know, he picked the gel nail polish with out me knowing and that was an extra $10 I was charged with at the end. Then, I asked for two designs (one on my ring finger and another on my thumb on both hands) and the designs were completely non- symmetrical. After an hour and 15 min (which seems long for a fill) my bill came out to be $45 when I thought I was only going to pay $32.. in the end, I was so pissed off and went to passion nail spa down the street to get my polish changed.
