We had a great dinner here this past Friday! We ordered the roasted bone marrow and the cornbread for starters. Our party of 4 had the pork chop with pork belly, the prime rib, filet, and scallops --- so delicious!! All of it! We were all so happy with our orders. Everything cooked and seasoned perfectly. Our server, Jeremiah, was so attentive and his recommendations were on point! We enjoyed our double date night and he added to it by just being such a great server! We all agreed that we will definitely make this a regular date night spot! read more

I swear all of my food experiences in Austin just keep getting worse and worse. I arrived for my reservation on time, but we had to wait 20 minutes because they unexpectedly had a table of 18 show up. The kitchen was backed up, so the hostess came and apologized at some point. You would think they would offer a free round of drinks or some thing, considering how long we waited but no. Not a big deal, but when our food did come out, I had a feeling my shrimp was a little undercooked, but I was like there's no way that this could possibly be that bad .After we got our check, we went out and my stomach started feeling this incredible pain. It took a couple hours before the pain became unbearable and then, of course, as expected food poisoning... I'll spare you the projectile vomiting details. I've only gotten one other time in my life from undercooked seafood in Mexico... this somehow feels so much worse. Don't waste your time coming here. Maybe it's my sense of bias, but I feel like every restaurant in Austin just has five actual full options on their menu and between my friend returning the chicken because it was dry and my food poisoning I don't really understand what they're possibly good at making. read more

Extremely below average service for a $$$$$ restaurant. My photo shows how empty the place was only to be left waiting wondering when the waitress was coming several times in the night. Maybe it's because the restaurant is in a hotel? I can't imagine spending so much money for barely decent service. The food was great. Attention/service below average. Hanging out at the bar-top with Dakota and Emalie! Excellent cocktails and amazing service. The atmosphere of Acre 41 makes me feel fancy with the judgement of an expensive steak house. I had the Final Word and enjoyed every sip. The burrata and organic chicken are delicious, but my favorite item are those shoestring fries! Come here and get excellent service at the bar top! read more

Stayed at the AC hotel and was given some vouchers for complimentary drinks for Acre 41. Though our dinner plans was somewhere else we decide to swing by the place since we had 2.5 hrs left til our dinner reservations. From front staff ( Glen ) to wait-staff ( Isabel ) one of the best customer service my friends and I received. Extremely attentive, with such fun positive attitude that shows they appreciate having you as a guest. It was my friend's birthday and they offered us complimentary dessert and Moët champagne. Food : we did happy hour and all items on the menu was delish. Please try the honey truffle burrata ...WOW ! Drinks: tasty and strong. Drink presentation is IG post worthy Came because of the complimentary drink vouchers but ended up staying for the food, more drinks and especially the great service ! Food: 3/5 Just average food, nothing special for what they're charging. The crab and artichoke dip was bland and there wasn't even a hint of crab nor artichoke. I like my hot food hot, and cold food cold. The dip was room temperature, which isn't ideal for a seafood/dairy plate. The corn bread was moist, but lacked that sweet corn, buttery flavor that I like. Chorizo oysters were underwhelming and again, it was room temp which was off putting. The steaks were cooked correctly according the doneness we requested. They were tender, but it just seemed to lack something, like butter and a little salt. It wasn't dry, but it was if that makes sense. The jalapeño Mac and Cheese was decent, nothing special. I think the thing we enjoyed most was the fig Moscow mule lol. Lastly, the brownie was also average, and there was nothing unique about the Mexican vanilla ice cream. Service: 5/5 The service was excellent, our waiter was super nice and helpful. I'm terrible with names, it might have been Cody or Corey. Ambiance: 5/5 Very upscale; good for any special occasion. I'd only return for drinks, the service and ambiance. read more

Came here for my birthday yesterday and OMG... I was very pleasantly surprised on the quality of food. First off, the ambiance is amazing. The dim lighting and the spacing between tables made me really happy because it made the experience very romantic and a little private. I went later in the day with a reservation and I did not have any issues with loudness or overbearing music. Our waiter, Andrew was very helpful in going through the menu with us and gave us some great suggestions. I ended up getting the steak with mashed potatoes, steamed veggies and an extra side of fried brussel sprouts. The food was so delicious!!! The steak was medium well and seasoned to perfection, the mashed potatoes were very buttery and the steamed broccoli was nicely cooked. But the brussel sprouts were my favorite. They were fried and seasoned with a sweet and spicy sauce... WOW. I loved it. I also got to try their shoestring fries which were nice and crispy, as well as their truffle pasta. The truffle pasta was also an excellent choice. The truffle paired perfect with the cheese and it was not too powerful, perfectly balanced flavors. Our appetizer was the bruschetta with honey and the restaurant gave us extra bread since we were a large party. Also, very delicious and perfectly flavored. For drinks, I had the Texas mule, the house margarita and a cup of Rose. Drinks are strong, so make sure you plan accordingly. Really nice decor and atmosphere - located inside the lobby of The Otis Hotel. Went for a group dinner recently, and it was OK... For starters we got the Beef Tataki, Tuna Wonton Tacos and Blue Crab & Artichoke Dip - all were delicious, flavorful and great portion size for a group of 6 to share. When it came to order the entrees, our server was very confident in saying that Acre41 was a "true steakhouse" and we could not go wrong with any of the meat options. So my friend and I ordered the Pork Chop and Ribeye to share. I ordered the Ribeye medium-rare, since I was worried about the kitchen overcooking the steak... and unfortunately the did. The first steak we received was pretty much well done and completely dry. Our server was super apologetic, and rectified things as quickly as possible. The second ribeye we received was cooked perfectly med-rare, but was so bland - I don't think they even salted the meat before they cooked it. At that point we were starving, so we ate the steak as it was. The porkchop was also super dry. No sauces or anything to accompany your steaks either. Thankfully we got a side of the Creamed Spinach (which was phenomenal, and a huge portion for the table to be able to share), that we were dipping every bite of pork chop and steak with it. The Pommes Purée and Broccolini sides that came with each were both good too. I will say, if you come to Acre41, you're better off NOT ordering any of their 'steakhouse' meat entrees. And I mean it. Everyone else at our table who didn't get a steak or meat, was raving about their entree - the Gulf Shrimp & Grits was a huge hit, as was the Cilantro Seared Halibut and Iceberg Wedge Salad. Service was a little slow, but overall our server was great and very hospitable. read more

Spent 200 bucks here last night. First round of drinks was well done, we jokingly challenged the waiter on whether a good mojito would come. Round one was great. Second round was half ass, no muddling, just syrups. Steak was fine, wife ordered well done New York. About 3/4 inch of pink in the middle after the waiter asked us to check. Sent back. Waiter says "it was almost there". No dude it wasn't. The comment combined with the grudge burning of the strip thereafter makes this a never again for my household... even if it was free. I had the ribeye. It was ok. Certainly not great for the price point. If you're going to be a classy joint, be classy. Don't act like your restaurant with a view of Chick-fil-A is better than serving me like I'm lucky to be there. Just have drinks on the roof, at least it's a pool bar and knows who it is. read more

Just had dinner at Acre 41 tonight. Last minute dinner after just arriving in Austin for our anniversary. Great place! Not many people due to Covid, plus a Thursday night. We had the Merlot and Acre 41 Old Fashion. The Old Fashion was excellent. For starters we had the spinach & blue crab dip and the Iron Skillet Cornbread! The cornbread with the honey butter was tasty...lukewarm, but tasty. For dinner we shared the 36 ounce Tomahawk steak. It was a special for the evening and considered premium meat. Everything was great, but the Tomahawk Premium, not Heritage ( I think), was over priced at $180. It was a good 36 0z steak, don't get me wrong. The char on the meat was incredibly flavorful. Just felt it was a bit pricey. I will definitely eat there again while here for the next 5 days for our anniversary. Mainly because the ambiance, taste dishes, and our server was excellent. I highly recommend for the great food, drinks and service. I give them a 4 because of the lukewarm cornbread and price of the steak. I would give them a 4.5, but the app does not seem to allow that. I'm new to Austin....so I'm constantly looking at reviews to select places to try. Acre 41 was highly rated so I gave it a try! It was great! Casual but slightly sophisticated. Then the icing on the cake was Mark our waiter. He was very confident with the memory and made some great recommendations. He was also a wealth of knowledge about Austin to boot. One tip I would share....call and inquire about the best parking options. We parked in a pay garage but there were apparently some options that were free with validation from the restaurant! read more

I went here for dinner with my dad and it was really nice! Classy and modern atmosphere with no need to dress up (it's Austin!) . It's located close to campus in The Otis Hotel. I got the reservations last-minute and we got a table no problem. Our server was lovely! However, a review isn't fair without a touch of constructive criticism. The only issue with the food I found was in the shrimp and grits dish. There was only a tiny portion of grits and the dish was more like a stew with peppers. The breadstick wasn't very soft and was hard to bite into. The crab & artichoke dip was a perfect starter, while the pommes de pureé were to die for. The pretzel & peanut dessert cake was delicious- and I'm not even a dessert person. ABSOLUTELY worth it. Overall, a great restaurant to try in Austin! read more

Acre 41 is inside a Hotel. Food was ok. No Chef. Drinks were ok. Not the best of service. Place was clean. Valet left, and we were stuck. Had to talk to several people to get to one of the Managers. It was then we could get my vehicle. The bar area is very nice, the private dining area is nice looking. The distribution of the place is an open concept so you dont have a lot of privacy if you sit in the middle of the room. read more

We spent our New Year's Eve here since we were on a road trip and ended up stopping in Austin, Texas. This restaurant was a pleasant surprise. Inside the AC Hotel, the ambiance was very nice and they even had a photo booth for visitors on Nye. The truffled spaghetti was delicious and a big portion too! The prime rib was amazing! They definitely have good meat in Texas! And the side mashed potatoes were amazing. The artichoke dip was very good too. We also loved the brownie dessert! Mouth watering and topped off Nye nicely. Unfortunately, that was the highlight of the experience. For a restaurant at this price point, I expected the cocktails to be a step above what you'd find at a casual chain restaurant. Instead, they were overly sweet and lacked balance or complexity. Two of our drinks arrived first, while the other two came significantly later. By the time those arrived, they were already warm, which was especially disappointing considering one of them included an oyster. We were told they had been sitting at the bar. In all honesty, these should have been remade. Additionally, we ordered cocktails to complement our desserts, but after a long wait, we were told that our choice was unavailable so we chose an alternative. The service was extremely slow from start to finish. There were times when we couldn't find our server for up to 45 minutes, and we even ran out of water for quite a while. The automatically included tip probably didn't help the attentiveness -- it definitely felt like there wasn't much urgency or care once that was added. Food-wise, it was hit or miss. The appetizers were excellent -- easily the highlight of the night -- and the classic Old Fashioned was perfectly balanced. But there is a lot of free street parking around. No app needed. They also offer valet too. I was greeted when I walked in. The gentleman asked if I wanted a table or a booth. Table please. I ordered a drink. Even though it wasn't on their cocktail menu, they made me a mojito. So refreshing on this hot day. Looked over the menu and decided on their prosciutto and fig pizza. Sweet and salty combination, I'm here for it. Pizza is lightly fired with a sweet fig spread, and the salty prosciutto. Beautiful shaved parmesan cheese, and arugula. A lot left over for a later snack. Also ordered their steak fries. Big wedge fries crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy inside. That dipping sauce was so good. Highly recommend their wedge fries. Outstanding. I was ready for the check but then saw their dessert menu. They had a 3 small sample of a banana pudding, lemon bar and s'mores bar. I did order this but got it to go. I had their s'mores first which was outstanding. Thick chocolate with an ooey gooey marshmallow, sitting on a graham cracker. The next day at lunch I had the lemon bar. Which had the most flavorful lemon bite. Loved the lemon bar for sure. And for after dinner I finally had the banana pudding, which was good. But seemed rather flat compared to the others which had great flavor. But in all fairness, banana is not a strong flavor fruit. The pudding was good, light and fluffy. All in all, was a lovely meal. And take home dessert. I had enough left over for lunch the next day. Enjoyed it all. Carve is my favorite restaurant, always consistent with quality of food, and the wait staff have always been super pleasant.

I will give the staff extra credit for being very helpful when recommending other places to visit in Austin. Unfortunately, the food was a major disappointment. Everything was bland and noticeably under-seasoned, which is especially frustrating at a steakhouse. I was in Austin, Texas, and wanted a great steak dinner, but what I got was a very middle-of-the-road meal. The restaurant is also surrounded by tech companies, which probably should have been my first red flag. For the price and reputation, I expected much more. Highly disappointing.
