I have a policy of not leaving bad reviews of businesses just having a bad day. Given the poor quality of the cheese pizza I got from Acre Sebastopol, and reading other reviews which lead me to believe that my experience was not an outlier, this was no exception. "Classic Cheese" pizza had almost no cheese and was over-cooked to the point of leaving that burnt toast after-taste. My aha moment: Acre's business model is to skimp on everything but distract with novel but not necessarily tasty takes on pie. But on a cheese pizza, there's really nowhere to hide. read more

Hold my beard.... Probably the best gluten free pizza ever tasted. The place is new not many patrons yet which is perfect for me getting full attention less distractions andore focus on the foods. Staff are super nice and courteous, welcoming and also seem to love their food. Order the chopped salad without meats which was delicious and fresh. They currently don't sell by the slice but will soon although ordering a pan isn't terrible if you can resist the urge to eat everything. I ate two slices or squares with half my salad which was plenty to feed two people around $36. The pizza melody was surprisingly pleasant but the crust won me. I've tried many "gluten free" dishes and pizza is usually a thin crust glorified cracker but this wasn't a saltine. The spice from the jalapeno, sweet combo of pineapple with delightful hints on spicy honey swooned me. The crust was thick and the ends are crispy salty goodness. 1st impressions go a very long way. Pizza was okay but service absolutely sucked. Was ignored for about 3-5 minutes while standing at the counter to order. Got 2 pizza's a salad and water ( which is room temp) and it was $98.00. Asked for a little ranch dressing and was told that it was an extra $2.00. WTHeck. My favorite pizza crust!!! The pizza crust is fluffy, crispy, soft inside all the best quality of a warm type sourdough bread. Delicious! Not oily or burned baked to perfection. Modern ambiance with lots of space and pool table, etc.. chocolate chip cookie also perfecto with little sea salt on-top. Cesar salad crisp, clean, fresh. Server was super nice and accommodating. We ordered an easy pizza delivery while we staying in town. Unreal good pizza. We got a pepperoni pizza and a veggie pizza with mushroom. As someone who dabbles in the dark art of fermenting his dough for several days I immediately tasted a familiar flavor profile. This pizza is the type you can eat a lot of and your stomach will not feel bloated aside from richness from the toppings and cheese. My pizza wasn't even served fresh out of the oven it was this good after being driven to me arriving 15-20m later. I have been craving Detroit style pizza for sometime now & today I found Acre pizza surprisingly. I ordered the pepperoni pizza Detroit style ofc & added mushrooms as well. Their website was super easy to order & it texted me when my pizza was ready to be picked up cause I put it for a take out order. The location is in a plaza so there is plenty of parking & super convenient. When I got in & asked for my order they handed me my pizza & it took like less than 30 seconds to get back into my car. I liked the convenience & also for a Sunday they didn't look that busy! Maybe since the pandemic craziness is coming back again....whomp whomp! The pizza itself looked delicious & very gourmet looking indeed. It comes in 4 slices & it could def be a 1 person size. My favorite thing about this pizza was the crunchy crust on the sides, it was just perfect. The ingredients used were definitely top notch pepperoni & big portions of mushrooms. If you are a mushroom lover add those mushrooms for the extra 2$ baby well worth it! I am not a tomato sauce lover but their sauce was very light & not over powering so that was a plus for sure. Im glad I now have a Detroit style pizza close to me but Its definitely on the pricier side. The long and short, we wanted something new, decided to stop here. Pizza dough was really good. Prices were not. I'm not sure what is happening these days where restaurants expect a tip for a counter order/pick up service. We got the Cesar salad which was filled with romaine hearts, maybe 5 pieces of crouton crumbs and oddly enough, arugula. Salad was priced like something that would feed 5 people and wasn't tossed. Pizza came out Luke warm, sauce was about 2" from the edge of the pizza. Total bill was $48 for a pizza, salad and two cokes. No leftovers and I left wanting to pick up dinner on the way home. I get it, COVID sucks, increased minimum wage means higher prices for mediocre food. read more

After going to the Sebastopol spot and only getting one slice because we had no idea of the size and was with 4 people... I had to get my fix the next day. This time I ordered my own pizza and the Petaluma spot has an indoor dining room... Sebastopol does not. What I didn't get in Sebastopol was ranch dressing, but in Petaluma I did. $2 is pretty expensive though for 3oz of ranch, but it is housemade and very good. So because i only had one slice the day before... the next part of my review has the same feelings as I had the day before in Sebastopol. When I opened the box it was love at first sight! I removed a slice and was all smiles when I took a look at the other crust. It looked so delicious. The first bite was heavenly, the dough is light and fluffy. The outer crust is perfectly cooked and is crispy crunchy deliciousness... this time I was so excited because I had the whole pizza to myself. My friend that came with me to the Petaluma spot wanted breadsticks... but i told him "the Detroit style pizza's outer crust is like a cheesy breadstick, it's built right in!" And he agreed. We got the pepperoni Detroit pizza and although it's still really good it's just a disappointment for anyone who has had this pizza at their Sebastopol location. Ordered two pizzas for take out, 1 pepperoni, 1 margarita, and 2 Caesar salads. $106 after tip. The margarita pizza was soft, and limp. There was zero crunch in the crust at all. The amount of sauce didn't help (far too much) and the clipped basil looked unnatural, and just terrible. The pepperoni was only slightly better. The Cesar dressing was awful. Completely separated in the container, and would not mix back together, leaving the salad oily rather than creamy. Threw both salads out. Forget it. The price for the quality is an insult. read more

I usually pay around $35 for a nice large pizza my husband and I have the left overs the next day. I placed my order online on Acres easy to navigate website. My order was placed for their Detroit pineapple pizza I didn't balk at the price tag of $26.28. I figured it would be a bit smaller than the Detroit pizza we got at another establishment a couple weeks ago, total price around $35. Acre has a sweet system where they text you once order is made, and again, once it's ready for pick up. The restaurant was completely empty at 6:40pm on a Thursday. The lady behind counter was nice. But the pizza. Lawd have mercy. It was crazy small. See pictures. A hearty eater could easily eat all the cheese was caramelized on edges like a Detroit pizza should be. But the crust was airy, not the normal chewy Detroit is known for. Over an inch of fluffy crust was puny toppings. The pineapple did appear to be quite fresh and was yummy. I have a gluten and cow dairy allergy, and we were looking for something we could stop at on our drive back home to the bay and saw the great reviews for the gf pizza so we decided to try. Ordering: I called our order in bc they were closing in like 25 minutes and wanted to see if I could get a pizza minus the cheese. The guy who answered was so wonderful and helpful and went to the kitchen twice to check on whether they would be able to make my pizza request. He was so kind about my questions and didn't make me feel like an inconvenience (composted to how I'm usually treated with my allergy questions). Such a great ordering experience, thank you so much! Food: since they were closing soon we just got a regular pepperoni for my husband and I got a gluten free Detroit marinara (no cheese). My hubs really liked his pizza and crust was excellent so all good there. My gf Detroit only had the crust, garlic, and marinara and it was ridiculously good considering that's all it was! It Wasn't much to look at when I first opened the box (again only 2 toppings lol) so I was a bit apprehensive but the crust was like OMFG, I was completely blown away. Perfectly crispy texture and bite in the center. And it was literally just garlic and sauce on top which speaks to the quality of ingredients and care with flavor development. Best glorified garlic bread I've ever had. When I went in I found out their vegan cheese is fricken Miyokos vegan mozzarella pizza cheese! Had I known I most DEF would've tried it! I've never had it before but it's newer and looks so good so I'm excited to come back and try it out. Daiya vegan cheese is not my jam so normally I'd never consider a vegan cheese, but miyokos butter literally helps me love my best life so really looking forward to coming back and trying it out! Hubs looking forward to trying more too - they have the basics on lockkkk so I have to imagine the other options are also fire! Picked up 2 of the vegetarian pizzas and a classic pepperoni. The potato pizza was out of this world, and the mushroom one was one of the best mushroom pizzas I have tried. We ate the entirely of three pizzas it was so deliciously good. Crust, sauce, toppings checking all of the boxes. We ordered takeout and were greeted by the kind staff, hooked us with some paper plates, peppers and cheese. Staff was cleaning as it was late, interior was clean, modern, with an open layout. We headed over to acre after attending a viewing at a nearby funeral home, super hungry and tired my friend and I decided to try the featured pizza which would be ending tomorrow. Supposed to be topped full of parsley and herbs with Saint George Portuguese cheese mushrooms asparagus lemon and drizzled with olive oil. I think we probably had about three mushrooms cut into minuscule pieces scattered on the whole pizza, The asparagus was also cut into really small pieces and they were maybe four spears for the entire pizza that's it, super disappointed.the picture shows the side of the slices were the majority of the toppings were and the Center had none at all, the crust was super dry and an appetizing. My friend ordered an orange soda and got a diet Pepsi? I just got water we sat down to eat ran into a friend who ordered one of their deep dish Detroit pizzas and he did show us his box would actually looked really good. We asked our waitress why there were no toppings on the pizza and she said oh well everything's organic and expensive and we ran out of some stuff. Really well for $38 I guess I expected something much more appealing. Left unsatisfied in and not happy ! we will not be back I was going to leave a cash tip but changed my mind because the service was not great and neither was the food. Was trying to find pizza while working in the Petaluma area and this spot popped up on Yelp. OMG... fell in love with a pizza, the marinara pizza to be exact. Flavor and crust was spot on. Pizza was so good I've been trying to find something, anything similar in my travels. Good thing I'll be back in the area sometime this year so I can't wait to go back. A marinara pizza is a pretty basic pizza... not that many ingredients; so I'm 100% sure everything else on their menu should not disappoint anyone's taste buds. We visited Acre Pizza today, and I have to say the food was amazing... very pricey but very good. However, the service was horrible. I'll start with the food; we ordered pizza by the slice, chicken Caesar salad, and meatballs. The slice I ordered was the Sicilian vegetable, the thick crust was some of the best crust I've ever had...a little crispy on the outside and pillows soft on the inside...covered in vegetables including brussel sprout pieces. This slice costs $8 or $9.. it's definitely worth it. It's just excellent! The meatballs were off the charts amazing...you get 4 medium-sized meatballs with tangy, tomatoey sauce, and 2 pieces of cheesy foccocia type bread. This dish was definitely our favorite. This dish was $14...also worth it. The chicken Caesar salad was very good, we added chicken for $4 extra dollars (I think without the chicken, the price was $14 or so). Just an FYI, a 12 oz can of soda is $5...so I would stick with the free water. The food was definitely 5 stars but the service was a 1. The girl at the register didn't acknowledge us until we had been standing there for a few minutes and we didn't get our food together...it came piece mailed. The real heartburn came with the 2nd girl...I asked for to-go boxes and she literally gave me a dirty look and didn't say a word. She actually rolled her eyes at me like I was bothering (the place was empty). It's just incredibly rude. The food is so good that all they need is for the service to match it. read more

I love Acre pizza and am normally extremely satisfied. This time, I went in to pick up 2 pizzas and a salad. They were quite busy and the staff seemed pretty frazzled. I waited patiently until my order was called and the server said she needed to make the salad. After about 5 minutes of searching, they couldn't find the correct salad dressing. The server quickly offered ranch as an alternative and I said okay to appease the situation. No discount or anything was offered and I received a $14 caesar with ranch. Seen this place every time I go to Petaluma finally stopped in to try it out...bottom line Meh! Expensive and really nothing to write home about. I ordered a Detroit Veg with a chopped salad. The salad: fresh and crunchy with all sorts of assorted extras came with some sort of pesto dressing. 8 our of 10 The pizza: Looked OK very dark edges (some would say burnt) . Flavor was OK. 4 out 10 I have had better pizza and for a much better price , did I mention this place is expensive.$$ $42 for a Pizza and salad before tip.
