Sometimes businesses with high Yelp ratings disappoint, leading one to hypothesize that they must've paid some "reputation management" outfit to inflate their numbers through the use of shill reviews by AI-generated sock-puppet accounts. (Yelp tries to combat that but there's only so much they can do given today's scale of shady internet shenanigans.) Well this is one place that totally does deserve all its glowing feedback! This place turns out to be an owner-operated business, and I dealt directly with the owner who was a both very knowledgeable and relatable young man, I'm guessing in his mid 30s tops. The other two employees I interacted with were similarly very pleasant and helpful folks...none of the gruff or sullen vibes you often encounter from service workers in this region. When I told them that I would be going out of town in a few days, they expedited the work so that my car would be ready just in time---and most impressively, they kept me updated on its status (via both text messaging and email) nearly every day until I came back to pick it up! Not only was the work done flawlessly making the car look brand new, but they even gave it a free car wash AND full interior detailing! (It had been covered in road salt/grime from a recent snowstorm and I had not vacuumed the inside for almost a year, lol---so they got their money's worth from whatever car wash place they must've taken it to, lol.) I only wish EVERY business could be as damn near perfect as these folks, let alone car-related businesses! Can't recommend them enough, and would definitely go back if, gods forbid, I got into another accident again.

Sierra at South Medford Auto Body took over for me like an absolute queen and was able to tell off the insurance company, get my car fixed, and make sure I had zero down time without a fully covered vehicle. They have been flexible, communicative, and a godsend with how stressful every other aspect of this process is. The repairs were faster than expected, and the team here clearly puts in effort to guarantee happy customers--beyond some extra fixes, they even repainted a part completely unrelated to the incident, simply because the color mismatch "was bothering them"! Just an amazing level of service all around, so glad I live nearby! The shop is also walking distance (~2 blocks) to two different car rental shops, so you can skip any needless ubers. Any down time you spend in the office will likely be punctuated with visits from the two friendly shop dogs, definitely a pro for me :)

The estimates were also different in details - the labor hourly rate was the lowest (charging a private customer the same as what insurance would accept) and the emphasis is on repair rather than simply replace. I worked with Siera (the owner) the entire time, and she's very easy, professional, courteous to work with. When they identified additional damage inside, she sent photos and explained what is needed, what can be repaired, and what may not be essential. Very easy to work with. They also have an agreement with Enterprise Car Rental across the street for inexpensive/easy rental during the repair. For those of us who don't know much about cars (and especially not about body repairs), it's really important to work with someone/a business that you can trust, and that is also helping you to save a few dollars whenever possible - and South Medford/Siera definitely does that. Highly recommended if you do have to get body repair done! Oh, they also washed the car even though they had to stay late on Saturday to finish it. Really appreciate it.

The car owner went to this place to get an estimate. The shop called me and told me that the estimate was $700, which is under the $1000 threshold for an insurance surcharge. That's why I opted to go with insurance. Once the insurance was involved, I was told the estimate was over $1000, and that the shop would ask for a supplemental claim for even more money. When I called the shop to complain about the $700 estimate going over $1000. I was told that the original low estimate was only because the owner wanted to keep my out-of-pocket repair costs low and opted to not to do a 'full' repair. I wish they had told me that when I was given the $700 estimate, so I would know 'full' insurance repairs would be over $1000 and lead to a surcharge. Did the shop withhold information so they could make more money with an insurance repair? I'll let you decide.

Spina's did an extremely time-sensitive repair for me in the blink of an eye, the work was absolutely impeccable, and the price was beyond reasonable. Not only was the work done quickly and beautifully, but Fred and Steve are both so kind and down to earth. It is apparent how much they care about their customers. They walked me through various options, they made a conscientious effort to keep costs down for me (which they totally delivered on), and they made me feel extremely comfortable and informed throughout the entire process. However, they wanted to charge over $1700 to do work that was not needed and unrelated to the trouble code by the diagnostic tool. I said I was going to talk to my husband because we would like to sell the car soon, and we would like to fix what was needed only. He said, because it took him some time to look at the problems (including the ones that were never a problem according to the tool and that we didn't ask) he charged over $300 to run the diagnostics and to clean something. He didn't fix anything. He could have been honest and given the price to do just the work that was needed according to the car diagnostic tool, even though his labor was still pretty expensive. I took it to my trustworthy automotive and he charged 3 times LESS of what Wagner was charging (INCLUDING labor). Sorry, Wagner! We wanted to continue being your customer, but you lost a customer and gained a bad review instead. :(
