I was passing through Orlando when I had a strange emergency--a baby squirrel trapped in an inaccessible area under the hood screaming for its mom for hours--and after being unable to get any of seven 24-hour mobile mechanics to answer the phone or messages the previous night and receiving terrible treatment at the Pep Boys near my hotel that morning--I came to this Mavis. I was pretty stressed out as I needed to get back on the road ASAP and this baby was suffering. I cannot tell you how sympathetic, kind, and helpful these guys were. The manager, Bill, listened to my ridiculous story and had the guys get my car right in a bay. A mechanic named Christian went right to work to get the critter out, explaining what he found, and just being super nice. Another mechanic, the one who moved my car in the bay, was also really friendly but I didn't catch his name. Anyway, I don't want to get anyone in trouble, but they didn't even charge me. It was such an act of kindness in what at that point had been 16 hours of awfulness (endless phone calls, rudeness from others, only 2.5 hours of sleep in the middle of a road trip), that I wanted to cry. We asked for a new tire in a specific spot and I didn't realize till 2 weeks later that they put the tire in the wrong spot and I still had a bubble in my tire. This could have ended badly in an accident on the highway if someone didn't point it out to me that my damaged tire was still on my car. I came here to get a nail in my tire plugged, but the experience left me feeling frustrated and uneasy. When I arrived, I specifically requested a tire patch. They took my car for service, and after a while, they came back to tell me I needed a replacement. I told them that it was something I'd like to hold off on for now, and then the technician casually mentioned that the nail had already been removed. Why remove the nail beforehand without explaining what was going to be done, only to later tell me I needed a replacement? This felt unnecessary and dishonest. The technician then asked if I wanted them to put the spare on. Of course, I didn't want the spare--it's not a long-term solution, and I shouldn't have been put in this position in the first place. As a woman, I would avoid this establishment as my experience reflected predatory business practices. The lack of communication, removal of the nail without consent, and the absence of any opportunity to make an informed decision prior to one already being made for me left me feeling taken advantage of. While the situation was eventually rectified, the business's approach raises serious concerns about their morale and ethics. Had a flat tire while in the area. Hector explained to us that he was very busy and it would be about two hours. We could see they were busy and said we would wait. Hector updated us with progress and when Javier was able to get a bay he repaired our tire promptly and carefully. We left after a little less than two hours. Being a user of Action Gator Tire in other locations, I have become familiar with them as a reliable group. Knowing that they were opening a store much closer to me, I waited to see the store open before scheduling a tire purchase. This opening took a bit longer than anticipated - for all of us it seems - and the store opened a month late. Now that it's open, though, I rushed in to make my purchase and get them installed. The staff I dealt with, in particular Eric, got me in and out within about an hour. Now I'm rolling down the road with better tires. If you find yourself in the Reunion area, I recommend giving them a shot. Their tire selection is increasing as they become stocked, but at this point, the service is in and out based on lower levels of customer use. In a hurry? This is the bet for you. read more

I came in this morning for an oil change for my VW beetle. I typically go to the dealership but they charge almost $200 for an oil change which is insane. I made an appointment on their website last night for 8am today and it was confirmed almost immediately! Action Gator Tire is not only walking distance from me, but was the cheapest in the area! The location is brand new and very clean and in a safe area. I highly recommend not only for oil changes but for all other car needs (granted I don't know their pricing with other things but they seem pretty fair.) I'd also like to note, I'm a young woman in my 20s and I dread doing these things because I am always up charged and lied to. The employees here were extremely professional and did tell me I need to get my brake pads released soon, but did not try to schedule an appt or up charge me at all. Gator Tire on Osceola Polkline by Publix. Not the place for golf cart tires. I ordered two. Paid a deposit. Set an appointment. Called to confirm the appointment this morning and was told "all set." I parked the cart directly outside the front desk. Upon introducing myself the young lady asked if "I was leaving the two tires to be replaced?" Trying to maintain a straight face I replied "no, as you can see they are on the cart". She now needed a manager to find out if they could actually do the job. Now it gets really great. The manager tells me I need to take the cart back home as their tire machine for cart size wheels has not worked for days. Bewildered me; "But I ordered them Friday and confirmed this morning before I came?" At this point an apology and a "we messed up" would have been fine. Nope. He blamed me as I hadn't advised the person taking the order the rim size but only the correct tire size. I was next advised it could be days, weeks or months before the small wheel tire machine would be working and the topper "I only do cart tires as a courtesy, there is no money in it. Do you want to just take the tires?" As they charge nearly double what a person can buy the tires for on line...I declined. I then spent the next several minutes waiting as they tried to figure out how to return a deposit. Florida Central Cart will come pick up the cart and replace the tires for the same expense. Lesson learned. Gator Tire is off my list for anything in the future. read more

I spoke with Luis I told him I purchased new tires through Amazon, specified the size of the tires, and asked what would be the cost to mount and balance. He told me it was usually $25.00 per tire. When I asked if any conditions would change the price, Since he used the word usually Luis became defensive and asked me If I was trying to say he was scamming me then he started to mock me and laugh in a condescending manner, I just hung up the phone I never raise my voice or disrespected Luis in any way, all I asked was a simple question there was no need for Luis to act in such a Patronizing manner. I called on 10/25/2023 at 2:11 pm, I asked for management to please look into this matter and not just take my word or Luis's word but check the calls since they are recorded for Quality assurance. It's mind blowing how low the reviews are here on Yelp compared to Google. I have been a customer at Action Gator for a year and a half since I moved to the area and the workers here are honest and hard working. I regularly get my oil change and tire rotation here and recently ran over a nail, got my tire patched no problem for $28. They never tried to upsell or upcharge me even when I have come in without my boyfriend. Speaking of, he brought his car in as well to get his alignment fixed and they gave him a good price. He asked about getting his tire sensor fixed as well and the staff was honest in their pricing and actually told him he could get it fixed if he wanted but it was just extra money. They have an area inside where you can sit and wait OR you can sit out back where its a really nice little area to sit. Its facing McDonalds so if you are hungry you can walk over. Everyone here is amazing! My air condition and alternator went out on the same day. I called my local ford dealership and was told that it could be weeks before they could work me in or get parts. I had chemo treatments scheduled the next day on Thursday, so I made it to my local Action Gator Tire and asked for help. Never having been here before, Scot assured me they could help and not to worry. He needed one day to get my back on the road, I as able to reschedule my chemo from Thursday to Friday morning. I really wish that I was able to put negative stars. I went there with my wife's car to get a tune up, an oil change and new wiper blades. Instead the put defective spark plugs in the engine which shattered and destroyed the entire engine. My wife's car was a fully loaded special edition Kia and the settlement offer only covered the pay off on the car. Now I'm stuck having to come out of pocket with a down payment to buy my wife a new car in this day and age when every dealership has overpriced their vehicles. Simply ridiculous. I have to spend $5,000 of my own money as a down payment to overpay for a vehicle and now have to pay $200 more in car payment due to their negligence. read more
