I was having a major issue with the front ac wall unit for my kids' rooms. I came home a bit early one day after work and it was like a sauna in their rooms when the ac unit had been on all day and night. That's when we finally had to call for help. Having my teenaged boys melting at home whilst I was in an air conditioned office all day was crazy to me! Fernando was the technician that came out to service my ac units. Within minutes, he discovered there was a leak of some sort which caused one of the units to not push out cold air. When standing a foot away from the unit, we couldn't feel cool air. I'd set it down to 64 and it still would not feel cool. I'd run it all day and all night and the temperature in the area was still warm and uncomfortable! Whatever Fernando did has definitely helped! Im literally sitting over 20 feet away from the unit in the adjacent bedroom and I feel the cool air. Not only did I have an issue with the air not being cool... but the original installers installed the compressor outside on my bedroom wall. Each time the compressor kicked on it would rattle my entire wall as well as the sliding door. It startled me each time it happened which caused me to wake up every single time! He also fixed that issue. I'm overly grateful for Fernando coming out here, getting sun dazed, melting in the heat and still fixing our ac units. He was super professional, extremely efficient with his time and productivity. He listened to all of my concerns and answered questions I had and was never rude about it, even though he was literally melting in the heat. His friendliness and commitment to my satisfaction as a client/customer is phenomenal. I hope to not have to call for service for anything else again... but if we do have an issue... I'd hope Fernando is sent back out. I can literally sleep well now that the compressor won't jolt me awake and the entire wall doesn't vibrate as if it was going to collapse as well as knowing my kids will be comfortable. They were scheduled to come to my property between 12-4. By 5:30pm I still had not heard from them. I called them. No answer. I left a message. No response. I called my home warranty, and they tried to reach them as well without success. I wasted my whole day waiting for them. Not a courtesy call to tell me they were late, much less not coming at all. 5/17/22 UPDATE: Active Air sent a technician to my home today, but I never agreed to a THIRD reschedule since First American was reassigning the job as a result of a 2nd no-show on 5/14. I received email stating that Active Air completed the work. BUT how are you going to say you completed the work when (1) you were not authorized to come to my house today and no one was there; and (2) have no access to my thermostat and filters indoors to ensure everything is working properly. THIS COMPANY IS SHADY AF. RUN - DON'T WALK - AWAY FROM THEM. THEY MAKE JUDAS LOOK LIKE A SAINT. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ TLDR: Find another HVAC company for your needs because they can't be trusted. I had to reach out to AA to schedule an appointment because AA didn't call or message me after 5 days. Finally scheduled an appointment for a 4 hour window - DIDN'T ARRIVE. 4 hours later, they messaged me saying that they had an emergency earlier in the day. Rescheduled for the following weekend with a 2 hour window - DIDN'T ARRIVE AGAIN and they are not answering their phones. I understand that emergencies happen, but someone from AA should have notified me as soon as it happened the first time. The 2nd missed appointment is inexcusable with no communication. I will be asking my home warranty provider to reassign me to another contractor. Don't waste your time with Active Air - they are unreliable and unresponsive. read more

Not sure if the company is under new management but our experience was pretty good. It was time for a seasonal tune-up, and our home warranty company assigned Active Air. Within a few hours of requesting the appointment, someone from Active called and was able to get a tech (Carl) to our place within a few days. Carl was extremely personable and friendly. He checked the Nest wiring (and fixed a loose wire), the heat and cold output and the filter. I asked if he should check the compressor on the roof; he said he didn't think it was necessary but would go if I wanted him to...which I did. We went up to the roof and Carl checked the compressor, tested the wiring and inspected for damage, and deemed the unit to be in good working order. At the end of the service call, I tried to give Carl a tip for his time, but he declined. I offered again, but he insisted it wasn't necessary. He was gracious and seemed to really enjoy what he was doing. Hope whatever led to the bad reviews that have been posted are a thing of the past. If Carl is any indication, things should be much smoother for Active, and its customers. read more

They never showed up to my appointment and I had to call and call and then they decided to come on Monday and reschedule my appointment, second appointment which to they NEVER showed up again, they called me 7 hours later and told me they would come. Note- after they missed my second appointment. It was a simple issue to fix my A.C. They quoted me for $400 Dollars to fix it.... I called another contractor and they fixing it in 30 min for $50. Beware, this company is a rip off! AHS sent them to us to check why our AC wasn't working and all their employee Victor did was lie and try to get money out of us! He didn't even check our system thoroughly and said our issue was due to lack of cleaning and maintenance. He didn't even open up any part of the AC system. When I asked him how he can tell if he didn't even look inside, he said he's sure thats the issue. He said he would clean it for us for a fee of $500-600. Thank god we got a second opinion from another company who did their job. Turns out we need a new motor. I highly suggest getting a second opinion from another company! Our heater has been out since November. We had someone come out and they left without saying anything. I reached out to them a few weeks later and they said they ordered a heat pump. I called them a month later they said they didn't order the heat pump and it would cost me a bundle of money to do so. Today Active Air Heating and cooling came out and fixed the issue in 30 minutes! They sent a kid out for AHS to "diagnose"... should have seen it coming. No equipment - in and out in 5 minutes. Then called and told AHS there was no problem. My heating has some faulty sensor that does'nt turn the heating on. The kid thought it goes on and off.. and said its because of the filter. Zero experience, and more importantly - no interest to fix your insurance problem - only to screw you on a service fee. After multiple reschedules on their end ,we finally had a technician come out to our home on August 2. He told us that the home warranty company required him to come and verify that our issues were what we claimed and then they would schedule a repair. He was at our home for about twenty minutes, super friendly and said we would hear back about next steps. Ten days on now, it says that our claim is completed and closed. The guy at the home warranty company said it had been fixed. When I called this company, they told me the technician did not find any mechanical problems and took photos to prove he came out. Apparently hot air coming out of an air conditioner is not considered a mechanical problem. So that is their story and they are standing by it apparently. They lied about doing work to the home warranty company and said there was nothing wrong with our system. The woman I spoke to on the phone was indifferent and didn't seem to understand why there was an issue. read more

I had the worst service with this company due to scheduling and parts. The lady handling appointments had to cancel on me three different times and not expedite the servicing because of an error on their end; call-outs, overlapping appointments, concerns with the rain, etc. Between Jan 19th and February 8th, during the heavy storms, I was not able to get an immediate follow up from the first visit to fix the furnace on a new system. When the technician arrived I was told I would need to replace a part, however, after going going with another company they corrected the problem within 30 minutes due to a valve/port not being fully opened. Not worth the headache to have them to come out. Don't waste your time!!! read more

Horrible company to deal with. I had gotten them through my home warranty. They came in July to fix my AC, the guy Victor said it was a wire issue and that he fixed it. A little over a month after the AC went out again. I called the home warranty and was assigned this company again. We had scheduled an appointment with them on August 28th. The guy never showed up at the scheduled window. Then i get a text message at night saying they will call me in the morning to reschedule. Well then didn't call so I reached out and spoke to this guy Karo. He said he will slot me in for August 31st and that he will update the records for the dispatch. I call them today to confirm for the appointment today, sure enough it rings through. Called multiple times and no answer. I check the dispatch of the service request and they changed my appointment say to Saturday September 2nd. They didnt even call to let me know. I took time off work to be home. They have no respect for people's time. I'm gonna assume they didnt actually fix it when they came the first time. If they did it correctly then, this would not be an issue now. Horrible company. Unit did not pass inspection, more work needed to be done. AHS sent this company out to fix a leaky air Conditioner. They have come out twice no fix! Fernando made it worse and leaked much more then it did initially. They rarely pick up their calls. It goes to voicemail and do not pick up when ahs calls as well. Very unhappy. We are starting to get damage from the leak in either AHS and or this company will be responsible for. Horrible. They came as part of American Home Shield (AHS) Home Warranty. Came once last month for AC that wasnt cooling. We paid $125 for the service fee, but a week later they had to be recalled to come fix it again. Gave us tons of dumb excuses why AC didn't work. Then Overcharged just for easy acid wash of 2 AC units. We paid $500 dollars and later they we found out locally we could have another service do it for $79 only. They would not refund or give any portion of overcharged money back. No empathy at all...Never use them. AHS shouldn't either. read more

I was referred to this company by AHS as a second opinion for my faulty wall unit. And boy what a difference it made (from the first company!) AAHC booked me the next day and Victor was able to quickly diagnose and fix the issue. He was very professional, courteous, and easy to talk to. He also went above and beyond to show me how to clean the air filter inside the unit and replaced the air filter for the central air for me!! He refused to take a tip. So, this is the least I can do to thank him for a wonderful experience and I can't recommend Victor and this company enough to anyone who needs repairs with AC systems. Refer to the picture to see what they are charging for out of pocket expenses considering I was going through American Home Shield. A guy Arvin or Alvin went on my roof for maybe top 5 minutes and came back with this estimate days later. Who honestly makes a estimate based on 5 minutes? He probably went up and smoked a cigarette for all I know. Plus drove straight into my driveway without permission like he owned the place. Not sure if he was raised by wolves. I would not recommend this place to anyone at all. We had no choice to get someone else because this was from American Home Sheild insurance. He came initially to check out the unit and when he glanced at it for not even 1 min he said that we needed a whole new unit. I told him how long a unit would take to replace, he said it depends on the home insurance. Then I told him one of his team came by 2 weeks ago to check on the other unit which he fixed (we have 2 air condition units). He said that if the unit happens to not work again, it would need to replace a hose which he didn't do in the beginning but it is currently working fine. And the man today thought it was the same unit. P So he decided to look at the unit that's broken again. He opened the side and replaced it with a part and once the part was replaced the condenser worked. Why didn't he do that in the beginning?!!!. He then sold me to acid wash the unit for maintenance. The acid wash cost $300 per unit. It was only to spray a solution about as much as a pint around the condenser and rinse it with water. $300 per condenser was ridiculous. They over charged me. I spoke to a local one and they charged $79 per condenser to acid wash the unit. Other places recommend not to do it. So definitely do your research. Don't make a mistake like I did.
