This guy Kevin was actually apologizing to me because of how quick the process was of him removing this mother effing skunk that facialized my dog and created a havoc in my garage. At first we thought the skunk escaped because we saw one roaming right outside. So I asked him what I should do about the smell via text because it was my first time me experiencing this. He was so kind enough to keep giving me advices and what to use, how to handle the cleaning etc etc, this was at frikkin 4am.... because I felt bad I made sure to use his service in the future. Then we realized there was the skunk hiding under a damn book case tapping it's dumb claws for defense mechanism and that's how we realized it was still there. Our dog was trying to reach into it. I just wanted the noises to stop, so I read the reviews and called Kevin. I could not be more impressed. I give Kevin my highest recommendation: prompt, expert, thorough, friendly and professional. He fixed the immediate issue, answered all our questions, and protected our house from future problems. Kevin returned our call promptly, gave an estimated appointment time (the same day!), and then followed up with two texts so we knew he was right on schedule. Upon arrival, his survey of our property was impressive: checking every inch of the outside walls and roof, crawling to the distant corners of our attic, even crawling far under the house with a helmet lamp. He then showed us what he'd found: three possible entry points on the exterior of the house (two that were missed by a previous animal trapping company, and one caused by our roofer); in the attic, almost imperceptible signs of rat activity on the air conditioning ducts and PVC pipes; and from under the house, pictures he'd taken of a plumbing problem he'd found. After we approved his suggested fixes for the three entry points, I was amazed that he already had everything he needed on his truck. His quality of materials and workmanship showed real respect for our home - and he was considerate of our time by efficiently completing the work. But throughout his visit, he was so thorough we knew the problem was being fixed - we didn't feel rushed at all. He answered our questions about skunks, raccoons, and squirrels (so we'll know what to look for in future situations and homes). Before he left, Kevin set three rattraps, and advised us of various possible outcomes. The outcome he thought most likely was exactly what happened - success the next day! I'm very happy with my recent experience with Kevin (the owner) of Active Animal Trapping. I called him at 7:30 on a Monday morning, he answered right away and was able to come out the same day, about 4 hours later. He even texted me an update of when to expect him and when he was on his way. Once Kevin got to my house, he went right to work. He was super friendly and pointed out a lot of things I did not know. He was very willing to check out the problem. When he was under the house, he even took pictures to text and show me what he was dealing with. He was able to resolve the problem (dead animal stuck in a tiny spot). He made sure to get all the remains and smell out. He even offered to come back out again at no cost if there was any more trouble with it. Before he left he gave me some tips for how to prevent this kind of thing happening again and even offered a reasonable quote to have him come do the work if we needed (which we might). And, an extra bonus, he texted me the 2 following days of the service to check on how everything was doing and make sure any residual smell was gone. Dealing with rodents is not something you think about until you need it and Kevin did a great job helping me out. I was hearing some movement in a very small attic space at my residence lat at night. I found Kevin on thumbtack and he came out and assessed our place and possible ways a animal/s can enter, he then secured the entrance into the attic space. Last, he placed rat traps inside the house in a secure suspended loft space.The next morning one roof top rat was dead in the trap. The same week, a second rat was running around the living room @ night and ended up behind the entertainment center. I devised a wall so the rat could run one direction- out the door. I used a broom to get the rat to move in the right direction which was out the door. I glad the 8" roof rat ran out the door vs. around the house. Kevin is an animal trapping genius! I used another trapper first to try to catch a skunk that was digging up my yard and nesting under my patio but the trap kept getting other critters. That guy didn't really have a solution and said he would come and take the traps away. I was chatting back and forth with Kevin as he was another business that answered my request for quote. I told him what was going on. He suggested making a funnel that would lead from the skunk nest right into the trap. So I had him do that and we got the skunk that night! But that's not all. As a deterrent to skunks nesting there in the future, he also installed metal spikes in the hole secured with concrete. You can't see anything because it's all covered with decorative stones. He works fast and he's very cheap. I gave him extra because he deserved it. Even with the extra I gave him, it was less than what the other guy was going to charge me, which would not have included the deterrent spike and concrete solution. One night I heard a scratching sound it sounded like an animal was trying to scratch through the floorboards underneath my bed. I actually woke up my wife when I did that the animal heard me and stop moving and my wife just looked at me like I was crazy and was pissed off that I had woken her up. Which I guess is totally understandable. I told her about it the following day and she didn't seem too concerned until the next night when she woke up and heard the animal scratching as if in a coffin and desperate to be released. Very creepy sound. So then we needed to do something about it... I called active animal trapping and Kevin came out sealed up all the holes to my crawlspace and put a trap in case it was something hanging out in there which she didn't think there was, all of this took about two hours from start to finish I called him and he just came right over. Really amazing service, we didn't catch an animal but the trap has been there for many days and no more scratching sound. I would totally recommend Kevin.
