Went to GGs tonight and were reminded why we love this place. The food is fantastic and we always have the best service. We started with the calamari which is always so fresh and delicious and then I had a kabob while my husband had the seafood pasta. Tonight the weather was beautiful, so we sat outside and enjoyed the ambiance of outdoor lighting, heat lamps and fun music. GGs is a must if you haven't been. read more

They close at 9 on Saturday but when we arrived at 8:20 they were already packed up and heading out the door. Said we thought that they closed at 9 because that's what it says everywhere and the lady looked at me like I was crazy and had no idea what I was saying. Eventually she mentioned something about how if they don't have people at 8 they just close up early and go home. The street was super crowded with wait times at other places around there up to 2 hr so there was enough people that probably wanted to go there but they closed early so they could go home. read more

We tried GG's Bistro for the first time and overall it was a pleasant experience. 1-service was very friendly and prompt. (There was an older lady helping us) 2- we sat at the outside patio and it was great for a nice spring lunch with friends. 3- The food was good but could be improved. I had the chicken pita wrap and for me it was a miss, the chicken was dry/hard and the portion of the meat was not very generous compared to the veggies. The flavor was very neutral, it needed pickles and some sort of sauce (preferably hot sauce) to bring it into life. I'd give it a 3 stars. On the other hand my husband got the baked pastrami humus, it was very flavorful and actually I added some of his humus to my sandwich and it really enhanced the pita wrap. This was 5 stars. The prices are higher compared to other Mediterranean places but obviously the Laguna Beach leases ain't cheap for the owners. read more

Plenty of open air seating and dog friendly! Service was fast and staff were friendly and accommodating. The serving sizes are pretty big and were prepared very well. I love hummus and wanted to try GG's Bistro because they have been around for a long time. I was very much looking forward to trying it. However my excitement ended there. The hummus that I got was Griffey and grainy. I've never tasted a hummus like this before. I hate to say it, but it was one of the worst I've ever had. I like this place, it's my third time, and they do amazing Middle Eastern/Turkish food. This time you were there for breakfast, and we tried traditional Turkish sausage with eggs, and it was delicious, they also provided jam/butter. Turkish Tea was good. Bread was good. I wish I could give this restaurant a negative star, I've never had a restaurant refuse to seat me when I called in advance telling them that I will be late and even ordered in advance knowing they close the kitchen at 8 pm and I told them I will be there 7:45. I arrived 7:50 and they told me my food is ready but they can no longer seat me because they are closing and I am l late" which is really confusing because had I arrived 7:45 pm would they have seated me or kicked me out at 8 pm because their closing? And why didn't they make clear that not only is the kitchen closing but also the restaurant itself as in no seating? What difference does 5 minutes make?? Mind you we drove an hour for date night all to be turned away!! The worst customer service and experience I've ever had. This restaurant deserves to be shut down. read more

Ordered a salad with grilled chicken. Food was amazing, could definitely tell it was made with care and not just a salad slapped together. Chicken was seasoned well. The only gripe I have is that that the waitresses were complaining very loudly behind me about someone who apparently is "SO awkward" (repeatedly said in a loud voice). It turned the atmosphere unpleasant. Customers are here to enjoy company and the food, not to hear waitresses complain and be catty. I almost left because the sudden shift in loud cattiness to overly smiling at customers made the experience insincere. And yes, they definitely pay attention to what percentage of the check you tip. They come up to your table with a machine to insert your card and then you select the tip percentage in front of them. You can tell they're watching how much you're tipping. read more

We came here because my friend is a regular. The food was good and the service was friendly. The ambiance is nice and you can sit on the outdoor patio if you wish, for some good people watching. There are also some nice museums in the area, so it's a great place to stop by for a bite after sightseeing in Laguna. read more

Came in tonight, on Black Friday, and it was a very beautiful and quiet evening with just a couple of other tables enjoying their meals. We had the Pasta Bolognese, the Gyro Plate and a combo kabob plate with chicken and minced lamb. The plates came with a home made garlic tzatziki dipping sauce, pita delicious rice, veggies.... One of the best Turkish restaurants I have ever been to. Food was tasty and fresh. Our server was really nice and attentive . she kept checking on us and asking ,if we needed anything. Restaurant is in a nice area and walking distance to the beach. I really enjoyed the food and service. If you like to try authentic Turkish food, go to this restaurant. I got the grilled shrimp bowl and it could've used a little more in terms of flavor, but overall I really enjoyed it. It was so refreshing after a day of driving the PCH and taking a little break to enjoy being still. I mean, look at these shrimp! They were glorious! It has a jalapeño crema dressing and that was really good- I don't usually like cream based dressings and I used the entire thing. The service wasn't great but it was slow and I didn't mind. When we asked if we could switch to a table in the sun that just finished, the waiter said it's for 4 people only. It's not like you guys were soooo busy that all the tables were taken up. He did turn on the heater but the heater went out since it was so windy. I got the seafood salad and it was so good. Came with a good amount of seafood-grilled shrimp, calamari, and smoked salmon. I enjoyed this salad so much! My boyfriend got the wedge salad with grilled chicken on the side. He was expecting to not like it but he devoured it all. My family and I was looking for a quite yet tasty restaurant to eat lunch in Thursday afternoon. This Mediterranean/ Italian resultant located between multiple art galleries and boutiques cought our eye. Check out menus and decided to eat lunch here. It has very nice patio seating overlooking a busy street yet providing some privacy. The food was delicious: I got fish and chips(but with salad), my husband ordered Ali nazik( beef on a eggplant purée). We paired it with two glasses if California red wines-can and red blend-both delicious. Kids got burger and nuggets( not surprised). The only thing that was not great is fries- won't recommend: taste stale,like they came from a microwaveable bag. Services was quick and attentive. The menu says that they won't do substitute, however our server had no problem to switch fries to salad in my fish and chip order. read more
