Came here with my partner on a Sunday to get some work done and enjoy iced coffee with the ocean view at Main Beach. The order came out quickly and tasted fine, but the cleanliness and vibe were a real letdown. Our outdoor table was dusty and grimy (which I cleaned), and I chalked it up to being outside, but every table and the floor was dirty and remained dirty and littered with trash the entire 2+ hours we were there. Around 3pm (they close at 8), an employee flipped the bar chairs upside down onto the counter without wiping anything, which blocked the view of the business from the sidewalk. People kept walking and wondering out loud if it was closed or closing soon. During a few instances, customers pulled chairs down to sit, got told hastily to put them back when they were done, then a second group and individual customer did the same and sat with their drinks for a few minutes and were told outright they couldn't sit there and the chairs had to go back up, right as a line was forming from the better visibility. There were multiple instances of customers wanting to sit and enjoy their drink, but could not. It was odd. Once the chairs were back up, the business slowed down to a trickle. It was almost comical how the business hurt its own flow. I don't know why we were left alone, maybe because we had laptops and came before some unknown patio seating cutoff rule. The bathroom was just as bad, overflowing trash and paper all over the floor, both when we arrived and when we left. Restrooms should be checked hourly. It's not hard, and it makes you wonder about hygiene behind the counter too. I've had cleaner, friendlier experiences at other Better Buzz locations (La Mesa, University, Point Loma). For Laguna Beach, I'd check out Equator Coffee nearby instead (unfortunately only open until 3), located inside the Rivian showroom, a historic 1922 theater with couches, balcony seating, wifi, and sometimes free evening film screenings you can catch later. TL/DR: Dirty tables and bathroom at this Better Buzz, and an unwelcoming vibe for customers and passersby alike. read more

Not too bad! It's probably not the best coffee I've had but I could see myself coming here if I was in the area more often. The coffee wasn't the creamiest despite them doing a double shot for their lattes. The hazelnut divinity was a bit sweet in my opinion but I will say the actual hazelnut flavor was some of the best hazelnut syrup I've had. I didn't see what kind of flavoring they use but it looked like there were pieces of hazelnut at the bottom of my cup. That had a great depth of flavor! The actual coffee had a pretty basic coffee taste. I'm not sure if I had an off drink or I should try other drinks. I'll still come back to try more drinks though! read more

Looking at the menu, most of the drinks were very high in calories and expensive. The only one that really stood out to me was the horchata iced latte. It was light, not overly sweet, and tasted great. Overall, the experience was good, but I don't see myself coming back. While I enjoyed the latte, I don't think it's worth paying the high price for it again. read more

Loved this place! Super cute inside and outdoor seating with a fabulous view. I got the Moroccan spice iced coffee and it was really really good. Even though it had some sweet foam on top, it wasn't overly sweet and the spices were perfectly balanced. I drank it down so fast because I enjoyed it so much. The deluxe avocado toast was everything I wanted. Bread was soft, yet had a crunchy edge so it didn't fall apart when you picked it up. Everything tasted so fresh and presentation was spot on. I thought it looked a little small, but the portion was perfect and I didn't leave feeling hungry. It was the perfect spot for my husband and I to have a little morning coffee date. I'm so happy Laguna Beach is getting some nice coffee shops as opposed to the big S chain! The staff here was so friendly and kind and coffee was solid. I got a seasonal pumpkin latte, which wasn't amazing, but it was definitely good. I'm going to try the basic stuff next time. Not sure when this one open, but I was glad to see it. I saw that they had peppermint seasonal drinks, which I was excited to try. I asked about the seasonal drinks, and the cashier wasn't very helpful. Or she didn't have a lot to add about each of the drinks. She told me the white peppermint latte was pretty much the same as the best candy cane drink. Anyway, I ended up with the best candy, cane drink, which she told me it was basically an Americana and I got it last week. The store is decorated very cute. I enjoyed my drink as well. read more

Belated review: Over two weeks ago, I stopped in on Better Buzz's second day of business and ordered a toasted croissant sandwich with smoked ham and muenster cheese, and an iced pumpkin spice latte. An employee upsold me on an option for the sandwich, the addition of egg, which was said to only be available at the Laguna Beach location. I liked the sandwich and thought going for the upsell was a good choice. I was surprised on my first sip of the iced pumpkin spice latte. I had not been to any Better Buzz Coffee locations before and did not expect the drink to have a sweetness level similar to Dutch Bros. I would not order the drink again. The hubby liked his cold brew so that could be a possible choice for me to pair with a breakfast sandwich in the future. Getting the promo cup and sticker and being greeted cheerfully in a brand spanking new coffeeshop made for a good first impression. We were able to find a table and eat inside, which was nice. Any of their "Best Drink Ever " with an extra espresso shot are all delicious. Pets allowed in front patio. I had the 3-seed avocado toast (with chia, hemp, and sesame seeds, crushed red pepper and onion, lemon and microgreens) and the Mocha de Mexico. The avocado toast was really good --- lots of avocado with all the ingredients expertly used to create a very tasty, flavorful and filling toast. The Mocha de Mexico was a delicious -- a not too sweet mocha that was well made. The woman who served me behind the counter was wonderful --- friendly, helpful, a real gem. The ambiance of the shop was buzzy and relaxed. It was filled with people inside and outside (on the patio) which I like. It really felt like a community space in the best possible way. Wow had no idea the old BJs location would turn into better buzz! Location is awesome. Plenty of chairs inside including lowtops, high tops and chairs for lounging. They also have seats outside to enjoy the ocean view. The mocha was excellent. The Nutella croissant was very tasty with generous portions of Nutella inside but was not flaky. From Anays who greeting us with a warm smile and enthusiasm to try either a cold Matcha Latte Sample or there Laguna Beach Best Drink Ever cold coffee (or both), to the entire staff that said hello with an upbeat attitude approaching the counter. My best friend and I wanted to try something new so we both decided on the Moroccan Spices Iced Coffee (coffee nutmeg, cinnamon and clove)--which we both found very delicious and packed with caffeine to be buzzing all day. Inside Better Buzz Coffee is clean, bright and modern. Having Celiac, to be able to purchase pastries (and have a few to select) that are gluten-free/celiac safe would have made my experience a five star. Better Buzz Coffee is a very popular chain that is beginning to pop up in Orange County after its popularity in San Diego. I had the ones in San Diego a few years ago and remembered liking them, so I was excited to try out their new location in Laguna Beach. However, I was quite disappointed by the experience. The drinks were definitely the best part, but even then they just tasted ok. The food was extremely disappointing, as the 3 Seed Avocado Toast was under seasoned and not toasted. The Chili Crunch Breakfast Wrap was almost cold, and the tortilla was almost like cardboard. The service was good as the server was nice and helped us adjust the Horchata Latte as it didn't taste like anything when we first got it. The inside was nice, as there was plenty of seating. This place had opened about a week ago today. I went in looking for a coffee spot and this place looked good and popular. They have seating inside and out right in front of laguna beach. you can do homework there or get a quick bite too. they have a full kitchen so everything made hot is made there. the guy who took our order was very sweet and he offered us stickers and a free cup. I got a large blended mocha for $6.99 plus tax. highly recommend and the service and people were very friendly. read more

The latest craze in with buzzing lines out the door is Better Buzz Coffee Roasters. Usually, once I find a place I stick to my regular haunts but today opted to try this new spot. Jury is still out for me! Did not knock my socks off, but not opposed to trying again a different drink. If you want to check it, there's nothing that makes me say "don't come here" but I personally wouldn't go out of my way. It's about an average drink. Couldn't really taste the lavender. It wasn't a bad drink, it was okay! Plenty of seating if it's not full. Music and chatter are really loud on a Saturday morning so not the place you for a quiet cup of coffee.
