Food is great even for the price but i went in today and asked for a to go order and when it was ready they gave it to me "for here" all i did was say i ordered it to go and the lady working started to try and argue with me that i was wrong? i was with people who heard me place my order and like 2 minutes after this we see another customer telling her she gave him an incorrect order. i really couldn't care less that she misheard me and hate being that guy to complain but like it's really rediculous how she tries to argue with me about it regardless of what i had told her while ordering while getting other orders wrong simuntaneously. read more

I have never had such fantastic quality of frozen yogurt. It is almost like Golden Spoon (as far as quality, trueness to flavor, and creaminess) but with the fun of Yogurtland. Their fruit and toppings are always delicious in fact, I went back the same day just to get their euro tart and some fresh Fruit. As their name goes, they have hands down, the best red velvet cupcake batter flavor EVER. Smooth and creamy like ice cream. I haven't had a flavor there yet that tasted like frozen yogurt does sometimes (kinda icy). Very clean and the staff is wonderful. I make special trips there just to get high-quality, fresh, artificial-flavor-free, AMAZING yogurt. read more

My favorite frozen yogurt spot! Their fruit toppings are always fresh and plentiful, in my opinion their yogurt is the best tasting in the area, the environment is not fussy and I always leave satisfied. Occasionally the customer service is lacking (young cashiers talking to their friends) and the place gets a little messy (when it's crowded) but it doesn't bother me... the yogurt makes up for it. I've noticed it gets super busy later in the evenings but there's never a line that you have to wait through. Definitely recommend it! read more

When a place is good for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Well you got me. T street bowl for Breakfast with coffee, Great! Lentil garden burger is good and filling. Most of the time I go to places that don't serve meat, I walk away and in 25 minutes I'm hungry again. Heavenly Salad is perfect size and tastes wonderful. The 4 stars are purely for the FOOD only. I really love their rice bowls and big salads and coconut based smoothies and the beet BBQ burrito and nachos.. . I basically like all the food OR anything with their OG sauce on it, but the "service" even for a semi self serve restaurant leaves a LOT to be desired. I used to go their all the time, but with 2 kids in tow I can't wait for 20 minutes for a single rice bowl, which has happened multiple times now, OR they forget to include part of your order and then are clueless about what to do if they mess up. I really hope they start keeping some familiar faces around who actually care to provide a better experience outside of just the food. read more

I had their tacos, and they were overpriced and something I could easily make at home. Disappointed in that. However, their wholesome bowl is amazing! My only issue with this dish is that they really scrimp on the OG sauce (thus the 3 star rating), which is really what makes this dish shine. If you ask for more, they want to charge you extra. What? $12 for some beans, rice, and cabbage and you give me a hard time about an extra tablespoon or two of the sauce you barely put on? Crazy. Stop being so cheap. Also, one of the male workers there almost killed me on the freeway with erratic driving, but that is another story for another time. updated April 2017: They are now being much more generous with their OG sauce, thank you, thank you, thank you! I LOVE the protein açaí bowl. Out of this world. I honestly could eat it every day. The staff is great at both locations.

My smoothie was pretty good, but the sever was not nice at all. Kind of killed the whole experience.

The food is great here. The service is lacking which is why I gave it 3 stars....that and the cleanliness of the place. My last visit was on 7/3/17. There was a big long line of people at the register. They weigh your "frozen" yogurt to pay. Needless to say, by the time I reached the register my yogurt was anything but frozen. I mentioned it to the ONE girl at the register and she said it was because they didn't have enough help. There was a second register next to her and at least 2 people standing there DOING NOTHING. I disagree with her on the lack of help...maybe it was a lack of WANTING to help. Either way....good place for food. Just don't go there if there are more than 10 people in the restaurant. read more

There are not too many varied options for healthy eating here in San Clemente. I understand that everyone's view of "healthy" is subjective, but here is my review of Active Culture. I had a really weird interaction with the cashier this afternoon. First, after waiting on the gentleman in front of me, the cashier looked at me, and walked away. It was very awkward and strange. A few moments later, a second cashier steps up. I asked him how he was and after a few moments of strained conversation (I was trying to be polite) and awkward silences, I asked if I could order food. I've waited tables, worked as a cashier for years, and usually, a cashier greets a person in a food establishment with, "Hi, may I take your order? Did you have any questions?" I am writing this review because the interaction that I had today was very weird and unusual for a restaurant where many people have to have face-to-face interactions with cashiers. Additionally, I ordered soup to go, and they got my order wrong. I did not discover this fact until I arrived home, and I was allergic to the soup they gave me. I did not return to have them correct the order because I had to pick up my hungry kids from school and had other errands to run. I am thinking that customer service and quality control need a revamp here. read more

Velvet is the real deal! Forget that Golden Spoon bowl of grit, step up to actual fresh tasting, smooth goodness. Toppings are real and always fresh. Flavors range from the old standbys to some funkier stuff on rotation or for special occasions, but it's usually worth trying them. This is only one of two yogurt shops in south county the kids can easily talk me into taking them. read more

What a find in lovely downtown San Clemente! Highly recommend this cheerful, bright, fresh and healthy cafe! The BBQ burger was simply delicious and made with fresh whole foods and grains. Extensive menu including sandwiches, wraps, soups, salads, smoothies and yogurt with assorted toppings. Next time I will get a salad which is served in a really big bowl and looks amazing! I look for vegan organic food when I go out and it can be a challenge, so it was a pleasure to experience Active Culture! read more

I've been here several times and absolutely love this place. The food portions are more than enough and food is always neatly presented on a plate. I love their house burrito and their wholesome bowl! Just deliciousness! They have a good kids menu too. My seven year old loves to eat here and of course the frozen yogurt is his favorite. I've never had any issues with customer service; the cashiers are always friendly. The first time we came in, my husband, who is not a big vegan or organic kind of guy, was asking all kinds of questions about the food on the menu and the girl was very patient and explained the different dishes to him. Food comes out pretty quick every time we've been and I know you can even call in an order and pick up! Only thing that might turn people off is that you have to clean up your dishes and put it away in the black bins near trash cans and get your own drinks and silverware but I don't mind that at all!
