I don't normally leave negative reviews, but after what happened to me at this office, I feel obligated to warn other patients. I originally came in for a routine cleaning that was covered by my dental insurance before my sister's wedding. Instead, I was immediately told I couldn't have a regular cleaning and that I had to get a deep cleaning instead. It felt like a bait-and-switch from the very beginning. I initially refused because I only wanted the preventive cleaning I came in for, but after enough pressure, I eventually agreed. After the deep cleaning, the office instructed me to return every three months for maintenance cleanings instead of every six months. I trusted their professional judgment and followed every recommendation they gave me. Three months later, I returned for my scheduled maintenance cleaning, and everything went as expected. Another three months later--approximately six months after my original deep cleaning--I returned for the next maintenance cleaning that they had scheduled. They administered approximately six to eight anesthetic injections because they knew I have severe dental anxiety. My entire mouth was completely numb, I could barely speak, and I was ready for the cleaning to begin. Only then did the office manager, Maria, come into the room and tell me they were not going to perform the cleaning I had been scheduled for. Instead, I was told I needed another deep cleaning and would have to pay approximately $2,000 before they would do anything. I was sitting in the dental chair, completely numb, unable to speak clearly, drooling from the anesthesia, and being told that unless I agreed to spend thousands of dollars, I would receive no treatment at all. I asked Maria to let me speak with the staff member who had treated me during my previous visits because they knew my history and had been involved in my previous treatment. I was told everyone was too busy and no one would come speak with me. I left without receiving any treatment after enduring multiple injections for absolutely nothing. I have never felt so humiliated in a healthcare setting. I walked into that office trusting the people treating me and walked out feeling pressured, embarrassed, and completely defeated. The experience destroyed the trust I had built with that office and has made me genuinely afraid of going to another dentist. Patients deserve honesty. Patients deserve to know what treatment they're receiving and what it will cost BEFORE needles go into their mouths--not afterward, when they're already numb and vulnerable. If this is how patients are treated after following every recommendation the office makes, I cannot recommend this practice to anyone. read more

I have my self confidence back! I looked for someone with high stats, years of experience, and who took my insurance. I found Dr. Patel. The location is great in a nice neighborhood, the dental office is beautiful! All staff was nice and supportive of each other. They asked me what I looked for in a provider and asked me to ask them all the questions I had. They took time to listen to my concern. The took pictures of the tooth in question and came up for a plan for me. I had low self esteem due to a chip on one of my front teeth and my last provider made it obvious there was a cover on it. Dr. Patel has made it look as if nothing has harkened to my tooth. It looks amazing and I have better self esteem. I will come back here! read more

Overall good care and clean facility . I appreciate that they go over the process, procedure and price. They also show you pictures and provide explanations about everything as well which should prevent any type of deception (a great thing!). It is easy to schedule, which is nice and convenient , but at times it seems they over schedule which may extend your appointment. I will say they can be a bit pushy when it comes to scheduling next services, which is uncomfortable. My last impression regarding scheduling (with one individual), realllyy rubbed me the wrong way (she was TOO invasive), but other than that things were good. Unsure if I would recommend them to a friend yet, but thus far my dental work has been done well and I have not come across any major issues. read more

I have found my new Dental office! The staff here is top tier. I had been going to a dentist for 5 years prior to coming here and they did not bother to read my gums and diagnose my periodontal disorder. Active Dentals Hygienist Kenneth found it and did so in 2 mins then the coordinators helped me with a treatment plan to ensure prompt but detailed care. Instead of my son, having fillings my son now has root canals. I'm beyond upset and it breaks my heart. Do not take your children here . they do not work on children ! I was told he needed simple filling work and that it could possibly be worse, when they took a closer look they told me they don't see an issue with filling the cavities. not even 5 months later my son now had all the fillings replaced with root canals. (at a Different office ) since active family dentistry refused to work on my son after they already did work . I couldn't get the dentist that worked on my son on the phone, but when his partner saw his x-rays, he immediately refunded and apologized.. that speaks volumes and shows me a lot I'm sick to my stomach over this place .Be careful read more

Wow! I have felt confident and we'll educated about my teeth when leaving a dentist's office. I came in for a cleaning and a second opinion for my wisdom teeth. Dr. Patel and his team took care of me by making me feel comfortable and informed about my dental health. The experience started off with a warm welcome by the front staff. With only a few mins of wait time, I was called in and taken care of right away. In the past, I've dreaded getting X-rays done due to its lengthy process and uncomfortable feeling of biting into the metal bracket. This was the first time where I didn't mind it bc the staff had fancy equipment to make the imaging fast and easy. During the cleaning, the hygienist kept me entertained and asked only yes or no questions. Although I enjoy talking to people, one of my pet peeves at a dentist's office is when the hygienist asks me questions while they're cleaning my teeth. My hygienist knew what he was doing and understood customer experience! Afterwards, Dr. Patel came in, examined my X-rays, and provided me with his honest opinion for my wisdom teeth. I appreciated that he laid out my different options, gave his suggestions for each, and let me decide. Dr. Patel is knowledgeable, makes you feel comfortable, and confident about your teeth. Finally, the staff was great about scheduling my follow up and I left the office feeling great. Overall, experience was awesome and the entire team made me give this place a 5 star review. This place is truly amazing. Upon arrival, the office was gorgeous, and the two women at the front desk introduced themselves to me since I am a new patient. I then waited in the waiting room, like less than 5 minutes. And the tech came to get me, introduced herself, and gave me a little tour of the office. It was so sweet and really helped me feel comfortable and welcomed. She had such great energy and we joked around and had fun. Then i was introduced to the woman who was here to give me my cleaning. She was very kind and let me know exactly what she was going to do before she did it, and let me know that if i feel uncomfortable at any point, to let her know. I then was placed with Dr. Patel, who took great care of me. I let him know i have been neglecting my teeth and his response was "But you're here now, right?" :) and yes i am here now and i am ready to fix my teeth!! I have quite a few cavities and he helped walk me through each thing all while making sure i wasn't overwhelmed. He also made sure to answer any questions. It then was time for the woman from the front desk to give me the pricing of my first upcoming treatment. She clearly explained everything, and also helped with any questions I had. I feel very comfortable here, staff is very kind, helpful, and personable. The office is very clean and decorated so cute. I will def keep this place as my spot moving forward. Great staff - Dr. Patel spent time talking through options and helped make sure we took the path that made the most sense for my situation. I reserved my review for my second visit because I wanted to give a truly honest opinion. If there's a word for severe dental phobia, I have it. But Dr. Patel is one of the only dentists to calm my nerves. He thoroughly explains everything he's doing in Lehman's terms for me so that I know what to expect. His assistants are also really comforting. I have horrible teeth so it's going to be a process to get them to the place they need to be, but I wouldn't trust anyone else but Dr. Patel and hygienists. Just got fillings done at Active Dental Plano. From the pre-visit prep to the post-procedure, the entire experience was incredibly smooth. Dr. Bhavik Patel and his entire team - Amy, Kim, Tania, and Danisha, made the entire dental visit a wonderful experience. Throughout the procedure, Dr. Patel and his team made sure I was comfortable and catered to my needs, rather than the other way around. They also have TV's and headphones to keep your mind busy while they do their thing. 3.5 hours felt like 20 minutes at the dentist. I've never had that experience before.
