I have been going to Dr Magale for several months now. Prior to seeing her I was going to Dr Labau, who is amazing. Anywho after he left I started going to Dr Magale and I am definitely happy with her too. She listens to what I have to say and definitely knows how to help me. I'm very active with sports and cross fit work outs. I feel Dr Magale understands the active individual. Sports massages are also available. They are so worth the money! The entire team here is so kind and helpful! I began seeing the chiropractor because I was in a car accident. I go for adjustments and treatments three times per week. They provide lots of information about chiropractic and their practice. The facility is super nice and clean. The waiting room is inviting and everyone who works there remembers your name and greets you at the door. The treatments are very relaxing and the adjustments are very gentle. Scheduling is incredibly easy and flexible. The facility has many different types of treatment in one location ranging from adjustments to therapeutic massages to hydro beds to personal training. I feel relaxed every time I leave. The payment and billing process has been painless. The staff advocated on my behalf to the liable party's insurance company and I didn't have to worry about any of it. They even give you fresh fruit on the way out the door! Active Life Chiropractic Center is a practice merger between Dr. Magale of Active Life and Dr. Casazza of Casazza Chiropractic (Feel free to check out my review for him too). And the merger is an excellent pairing to two great Doctors, a certified Massage Therapist, a Personal Trainer, and very friendly assistants. You may be asking yourself how good is Dr. Magale (Charmaine), well if you know Dr. Casazza, then know she's who he goes to to get taken care of. It makes sense why she was selected to serve at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, to evaluate Olympic Athletes....yea just let that sink in for a second, lol. That speaks volumes I think, not only of a great accomplishment, but says something about her expertise and experience in. DR. MAGALE: She always gets me feeling right during a visit, and if I tell her something in particular is bothering me. She'll work on that area too, for me my main repeating issues have been the middle area of my back, and my right shoulder. She also recommend stretching exercises and techniques to help with trouble areas that you might have. I like also how Dr. Magale is very social, and makes your visit enjoyable. We've talked about our sports interests, and with football season recently; how we're big football fanatics. My sons even like going there when I have an appointment, because they have a kids area with an assortment of toys and activities to keep them entertained. My oldest son will still talk about that time Dr. Magale told him he had "good genes" and he look at his pants!! LOL....he's only 11. PHYSICAL THERAPY: Besides the hydro massage beds that you get to relax on after every adjustment. If you're needing an extra bit of treatment, like I did before for recovery from an injury. Active Live also has the physical therapy room, where you can get setup with Electrical Muscle Stimulation, cold and or heat therapy. Or even use the cold laser, which helps improve the speed of your recovery. I even had one massage therapy appointment so far, with Tina Marie (which every time I hear her name I think of Rick James, lol). And with all of the physical activities that I'm a part of on a regular basis. My muscles take a real beating, so the deep tissue massage was a great treat and helped relieve a lot of built of tension and muscle stress. OVERALL: Although I wish it were for different reasons, because I'm coming here for treatment. I really enjoy coming here, the environment is great. And everyone seems to really loved what they do. My baby had colic and acid reflux so bad, and taking her to see Dr. Magale once a week healed her!!! We would go and her colic/ cry time each day was SIGNIFICANTLY less for the days following. For 2 weeks I had immense pain in my back/shoulder with pinched nerve / tendonitis symtoms. Dr. Magale and Vanessa were amazing!!! I had never gone to a chiropractor before because ive never needed to but this nightly pain needed treatment. Dr Magele, the owner of this fine establishment, is an angel! She's so attentive and cool and funny and laid back AND an awesome chiropractor. She's very professional, rarely running off schedule, and brings her dog to work every day. He's a gentle and mellow yellow lab and is the sweetest thing ever. My massage therapist, Mike, is really great as well. He's got one of the best smiles in town and really makes you feel as comfortable as possible while he's beating the crap out of your aches and pains with his fierce grip. He delivers true theraputic massage and is always ready to greet you with a smile. The receptionist could work on her people skills a bit but just because someone isn't friendly at the front desk, it doesn't really mean they should lose a star over it. I used to think chiropractors were witch doctors and such, well that is what my parents taught me growing up. A few years ago that notion changed when it became necessary for my to seek out treatment of one. After talking to several friends and co-workers I came upon Active Life and Dr Magale. I have definitely had better experiences with chiropractic offices in the past. The initial appointment is rather expensive at $100 but there is a coupon available, it only amounts to about $20 less out of your pocket. $30 of what you pay goes to the Sacramento Food Bank and covers your X-rays, then it's a $49 adjustment fee. When I set my initial appointment I was mainly looking for Active Release Technique treatment. Lo and behold, the good doctor who owns the place is out on maternity leave for the next few weeks. The "substitute" chiropractors were knowledgeable gentlemen and did not try to ram their pseudoscience down my throat which I appreciated. I was informed that the substitutes were unable to assist me with ART but I should be fine once the regular doc comes back. Dr. Magele finally returned and I was informed that it would be my first and last appointment with her as their hours were changing and I was out of luck on coming in after 5pm. Charmane was rather personable but then when she mentioned that she was not going to vaccinate her newborn all enthusiasm I had for the place died. I have enough of my own misconceptions regarding reality, please don't burden me with more from a position of false authority. I discussed ART with Dr. Magele and was told that I would need to pay more than the regular adjustment costs. The combination of factors - maternity leave, schedule change, pseudoscience, and greater cost for the treatment I actually need - has led me to look for a new therapeutic provider to help with my spine. I am used to a reduced cash rate which is nearly a standard practice in chiropractic. I wish I was still able to see Dr. Chu at Elite Spinal & Sports but it is too far to fit into my schedule. I will say in Active Life's favor that the support staff at Active Life are very pleasant women and that Dr. Magele is lucky to have them. The office was also willing to work with my pay check schedule as far as payments go. If only the doctor and pricing were as good as the ladies at the front desk. read more

LOVE Dr. Magale! I started coming here a few years ago based on the rec from a friend. don't let the first appointment costs scare you! it's $99 but that includes a ton of information, an x-ray, and an assessment or your issues. they'll set up a treatment plan and then have you do the same questionnaire that you do on the first visit, to see how much you've progressed. I don't know what I'd do without Dr. M. she's got a gentle touch but can crack the hell out of your back. read more

Dr. Magale is an incredibly skilled chiropractor--and I am a very difficult patient so that says a lot! She is one of the few chiropractors who can safely and painlessly adjust my neck. Other chrio's have, out of frustration, yanked on my neck to the point where I screamed. Dr. Magale's technique is one of the best I've ever experienced, and trust me, I have tried a LOT of chiropractors for my scoliosis and hypermobility. She totally straightened me out, but is also just super cool; it's like you're hanging out with a really knowledgeable friend who helps you feel better...i call that winning! We love Dr. Lance!!! Both myself and my hubby are patients. I went in for headaches and hip pain. It turns out the headaches were stress induced rather than anything body related.
