This place checked all my boxes! To start, it is nestled in a beautiful area and sits in the center of walking path full of small shops, restaurants, and fitness establishments. I prefer to give my business to non-chain restaurants, this place fits the bill. Second, the food. I ordered a hot lobster roll and the chowda. The chowda came first and it was hot and flavorful. The lobster roll took a little bit, but the time was offset by eating that delicious chowda. The lobster roll was just what I was looking for. It was hot, had excellent flavor and I felt the portion size was worth the spend. Too often, I go to other places where they carefully cut the break to make it look large only to find the lobster only covers the top most layer and is held in place by bread. Not the case here, what you see is what you get and that made me happy. The staff were very friendly. Although I am not from the area, I heard them greet many of the folks that walked through the door by name. That says something, I'm sure if if lived here, this plaice would be in my regular go-to list. So, that just means I need to find a reason to visit the area more often. Highly recommend! read more

Stopped here for lunch the other day after wanting to try this place for ages. Had such a great experience, I'll definitely be back. The person who helped us (I believe he was the owner) was so nice and helpful. He gave us the lowdown of the menu and even offered to show my son a lobster afterwards. I got the fish tacos, which were good. The fish was unreal. Light, fluffy and crispy. In hindsight I should have got fish and chips instead. My friend ordered the blue crab sandwich and was so impressed. She was very impressed at the size of the portion and quality of the crab. I ordered the kids fish and chips for my son, who was more impressed with the decorations outside and the lobsters inside, typical 3 year old! The owner told us that kids eat free doing the week when you done in, so I'll be back! read more

Lobsters are being kept in small tanks. Piled up on each other. Being smothered in water that's never freshened. The bottom lobsters arent and can't move. It causes chemical reactions and those lobsters end up too chewy and taste more fishy. Not sweet at all. Paying $38 for ruined lobster. Not to mention how horrifying it is to see those poor creatures in those over crowded tanks. And yes I did try the lobster. Rubbery and fishy taste. read more

Terrible, overpriced. Fried seafood platter was horrible. Typically a seafood platter is large enough for two to share but what was served was laughable for the cost. The clams and scallops were over cooked and I believe the haddock was frozen. I don't recommend waiting your money at this establishment. read more

This place is a gem. Top quality seafood, family run, generous portions. I got a whole belly clam and scallop plate. The fried scallops were maybe the best I've ever had anywhere. You could tell they were dry packed, light flour dredge and perfectly cooked, not cooked to death like usual. The clams were a close second. A little heavier dredge than I prefer but still very good. And again perfectly cooked. Not a chewy one in the bunch. I'll definitely be back to try more things. The only improvement would be a cold beer to go with the food. But, alas, no booze. read more

After searching for a good seafood shack online for a road trip from Long Island to Massachusetts, I came across this amazing spot. Dean and staff were absolutely awesome. The food was everything you would expect from a great New England seafood spot. I came with a group of 6 and had plenty of room to eat inside. We ordered clam chowder(amazing!) tuna steak sandwiches, lobster salad sandwiches, fried pickles, kids chicken nuggets, etc. all came with plenty of French fries, cole slaw and sauces. The food was fresh as can be, cooked to perfection and the portions were great!!! I highly recommend this spot! They even have burgers and a fish counter to take home clams, oysters, fish, etc. I wish I lived closer to this place because I'd be there all the time! Especially for the live music on Friday and Saturday nights. Even scored a sweet hat! read more

Food is fine for fried seafood - which we do like. Small place and staff led to same person cooking, cleaning, taking orders, etc. Did see lack of handwashing/gloves changing as role shifting was going on which left us feeling like the food handling needed work and thus concerned a bit about the food. This was my first time trying this place (I am out-of-towner). I always try to find local places when traveling, and I was in the mood for seafood. The fried scallops were delicious, but the sweet potato fries were soggy. The food was prepared on time (I did takeout). I found the price a little high for what I got, but I understand that things are more expensive now, so this isn't a complaint about this location specifically. We went here today, and we absolutely loved it! My husband had the Fried Oysters with onion rings and Clam chowder, and I had the Fishermans Platter and Lobster Bisque. The fish here is so fresh. We both loved our lunch. The staff is great and so friendly. The wonderful lady that cooked our fish asked me how it was and I told her "It was great and so fresh". Great little spot! Came in for a local soccer tournament with my son. He was craving a burger and clam strips, so we stopped in. Ordered both and cooked very well. Breading on strips was crisp so perfectly fried. Burger was juicy. Chowder was thin and filled with clam meat and just the right amount of potatoes. Service was great too! The food is okay...no complaints on that. It is pretty pricey for where you're at (Seaport prices) in Acton. Plenty of choices.

I went to Acton Seafood today for the first time since the change of ownership and have to say I was very disappointed. I would have given Twin Seafood a 5 star rating, but that was not my experience today. I LOVED the lobster bisque before the change. I don't know what recipe they are using now, but it wasn't any good and the fish we got was thin and tasted more like the breading than the fish. I don't go out to eat often, but was happy we had a good fish spot in West Acton. It's still ok, but not exceptional any more. I'll think twice before going again. read more
