It was okay, but certainly not on par with many area steakhouses. Many of the cocktail descriptions sound intriguing. Wonderful Brunch this morning. Decorated for Valentine's Day set the tone beautifully. Our waitress Kim was so great, she was very knowledgeable about all the dishes and cocktails. House Bloody Mary was nicely seasoned and a nice garnish. Chimichurri Steak and eggs were perfect, poached eggs on top of the toast and a nice side of greens. Amazing restaurant in Marlborough. Prob my favorite in the area! I have been visiting this area a lot this year due to work and have been eating at this place twice already. Hands down, the best fancy resturant in all of Marlborough. This place has been recommended by local colleagues every time and I can see why. Our party of five ordered: Caesar Salads with Anchovies (3) $14 Clam Chowder $13 French Onion Soup $13 Sesame Crusted Tuna $39 Chimichurri Steak $38 Seared Scallops $39 Ribeye $52 Statler Chicken $32 Mixed Drinks, Beer, Wine, Water $70 Total with Tip: $500 Overall the food was good, the mixed drinks were very good, the Austin Hope Cabernet ($17.50) was just fair. The French Onion Soup was excellent, the Clam Chowder very good. The Caesar Salads were good, and the Anchovies were very tasty. The salad was a little heavy handed with the dressing. Both steak dishes were excellent, but the Sesame Crusted Tuna was disappointing. They tuna was tasty but the green bean side was odd and unappealing. It wasn't a good match with the tuna and remained uneaten. The green beans were the only side, so it resulted in a very modest meal. At $100 per person, this is a fairly pricey meal, so execution is at a premium. I would be happy to return, and would likely order a steak dish. Overall, a four-star dining experience. read more

I have been here several times for lunch and it was great. Last night we had a family dinner here and it was superb! The service was friendly yet unobtrusive. The seating is comfortable and the decor lovely with the upscale feel. The food however is the reason to come here. Every dish that came to the table was both beautiful and delicious. We had the Surf & Turf special, New York Strip Steak, Chimichurri Steak, Bolognese and Short Rib Poutine and one was better than the other as we shared. My first time to Wemmys and was pleasantly impressed with the reception and service. Seating was comfortable in a very small table for two. Our server was Lexi and she was prompt and on cue with service and a smile. Both ordered some drinks which were both very good and pretty. For Appetizers squash soup & Crispy Brussels Sprouts both very yummy. Our dinners we ordered the Blackened Swordfish with whipped potatoes & grilled asparagus. Also had the Short Rib with whipped potatoes and broccoli. Again presentation was great and both tasted very good. Wemmy's hosted a small wedding party of 13 for us at lunch and it could not have been better. Without exception the food was very good and the service was exceptional. Nicole was so attentive and never made us feel rushed. She was so accommodating to all of us, especially my elderly (94 and 92!) parents who were thrilled with their meals and the service. The service and food were excellent. This is a great spot for a girl's night out or date night. The remodel they did of the space is fabulous and fun! I had the seafood pappardelle. It had a ton of seafood in it that was cooked perfectly but it was slightly on the dry side. It did have good flavor though. My friend had the French pork chop and said it was good, but the piped mashed potatoes were very bland. Out of all the desserts on their dessert menu they only make one in house. This was very disappointing. The drinks were very well thought out and tasted amazing. The prices are average for this type of dining and I think well worth it. read more

For our sixth anniversary, my Irene and I made reservations for Wemmys in Marlborough. It's an upscale dining spot as nice as anything in Boston. This restaurant was packed on a Friday night belying the propaganda of affordability in America. It is not inexpensive but for the quality of the food on a varied menu and exceptional service, it's something you do only occasionally. Let's start with the greeting. While e had reservations, the staff could not make a decision on where we wanted to sit until a manager solved the problem and gave us a less crowded window seat in. Very romantic with tiny electric candles. That's when we met Shtarra. She epitomizes quality service, perfectly attentive. For drinks, Irene had a sweet Riesling; I had a perfect maple old fashioned. Our appetizer was a margarita flatbread. For entrees, she had crusted cod; I had seared scallops. Irene's was perfect but I know seared and they weren't. Delicious nonetheless. Desert was outstanding. We shared a tiramisu. It was a work of art. You don't go to a great place like this every week but it is an experience. If you choose to sit at the bar, it is noisy. All in all, this was a memorable meal and experience and made more enjoyable by our server, Shtarra. read more

Wemmy's is not main street, like its older sister- Welly's. Welly's is a good deal, and has a very expansive menu. Wemmy's is trying to be upscale and not achieving quality in their limited menu. The prices are very high. Wemmy's presentation, service and ambience is really good (except for the heavy perfume from certain employees). My main complaint is that the chef is not coming through with the gourmet flavors and textures promised in their menu. I can only comment on that from what we had: Tuna tartar and avacado - where was the tuna? And, there weren't enough crispy bits to eat it with. Seafood papadale, claimed to have basil - not apparent. The scallops with smashed fingerling potatoes would have been so much better if the potatoes were crispy to counter with the texture of the perfectly cooked, delicate scallops. There is Brazilian heritage there - maybe go with the steaks on the menu. read more

What a charming piece of heaven. And then came Melissa. Sassy, savory, sweet, funny, witty and knows her shtuffffff. Drinks? Yea - top shelf meets right priced in a bar that will knock your socks off. Sock-it-to-me blingy and beautiful. OH YEA! AND GET THE ESPRESSO/COFFEE MARTINI Flight. An experience in its own. If you do nothing but sip on martini and eat bread (which is delicious too, but you won't want to live just on the bread and butter once you glance at the small and epic menu. Epic because its innovative? NO chance. EPIC because it takes foods you KNOW, have seen and eaten and just does them perfectly. NAILED IT!) Food? Don't get me started. Tuna with those crispy wontons crowning a guac-style avocado mash. Crunchy, creamy, cool, umami, tasty... The hub ordered a PERFECT HUGE bone-in rib eye (half is now in our fridge) with beautifully piped whipped potatoes. I swooned over creamy sauce infested with seafood (3 huge scallops, 3 huge shrimp, LOTSA LOBSTAH with perfectly cooked parpadelle. And on TOP of it all, the place is immaculate despite the hoards of people spilling in through the doors. Starving. Dressed like they were in a Boston shingdig. On this visit I wanted something healthy but also wanted a treat. We shared the truffle fries and pork belly. We cleaned both plates and that was a lot of fries. The bbq sauce in the pork belly was delicious! My something healthy was the quinoa bowl served with salmon. The salmon was perfectly cooked but I was surprised the quinoa bowl was served cold. We came for lunch and I like that they have their full menu available all day. We ordered the mushroom flatbread, clam chowder, wagyu burger, some oysters, and the chocolate crunch cake. It's a little pricey here but the food was great. I'd probably order everything again other than maybe the mushroom flatbread, but it wasn't bad or anything, just didn't stand out. The oysters were even better than the food. They were incredibly fresh. I asked for a briny variety and they really gave it to me! I'd definitely come back. Wish they had happy hour for oysters, but that is definitely rare in the suburbs. read more

Came here for my friend's birthday and had an amazing experience. I ordered the seafood pappardelle and was really impressed -- they definitely don't skimp on the seafood! There were chunky scallops, plump shrimp, and generous pieces of lobster throughout. The sauce leaned more toward a creamy vodka sauce rather than the pesto the menu described, but it was still delicious and rich. We also tried the clam chowder, which wasn't super thick but was packed with clams and had great flavor. The oysters were fresh and briny, and the miso salmon was another highlight -- tender and perfectly cooked, served with a nice mix of veggies like mushrooms and bok choy. The short ribs came out a little cold, which was disappointing, but they were incredibly tender and flavorful. The red wine sauce on them was rich and savory, and it really brought the dish together despite the temperature issue. The ambiance was upscale and elegant but still comfortable -- perfect for celebrating a special occasion. I'd definitely come back! read more

Delicious food, excellent service. Lovely, comfortable booth seating. The server was very careful about gluten free service and she mentioned that they have a gluten free dedicated fryer. Many, many items on the menu are marked gluten free, and the server said that others can be made gluten free. They provide a nicely toasted gf bread and a honey butter. The wine was excellent, as was the espresso, which could also be ordered decaf. Excellent wine in fine stemware, which is not often found these days but makes a glass of wine really special. We tried two beef main dishes - a steak and a short rib. Both were perfectly cooked. The creme brulee, which is a dish that is difficult to make correctly, was lovely. They went the extra mile and provided a cute chocolate dessert for the birthday celebrant, with "Happy Birthday" written on the plate in cinnamon. Absolutley top marks for this new, more fancy option in Marlborough. Pricing ranges from moderate to costly, but overall the priwas reasonable for a fancy dinner out. read more

Awesome birthday dinner at Wemmy's for my 56th time around the Sun. Nice birthday card on the table. The staff was fantastic from the moment we walked in the door. Our server Benjamin was outstanding! He really knew the food and drink menu and offered some nice recommendations. The pork belly appetizer was out of this world! Tender and crunchy at the same time! We got the ribeye and the bolognese. Both were delicious! The pasta was definitely made in house and cooked to perfection! We got the creme brulee and the chocolate crunch strip for dessert. Both were delicious and my brulee had a nice Happy Birthday message written in cocoa powder. Two complimentary glasses of champagne accompanied our dessert. Very nice touch! The server was great until I told him my opinion of my meal and then he was attentive, but definitely not as friendly. Overall is very nice if you stick to the menu. I LOVE WEMMYS! This place has the best mocktail; passionfruit colada. Their food has consistently been good after about 3 times of going, and their shrimp cocktail is phenomenal. first of all, the 'mai oh mai' was delicious. we started with a caesar salad, it was different than i expected... but my seafood pappardelle was SO GOOD. every part of it was perfectly cooked. my boyfriend, who hates seafood (lol) helped me finish it. nobody talks about the sauce its so good. he got the short ribs which he devoured in about 4 minutes. the whipped potatoes were AMAZING. we saved some room for dessert, every single one sounded so good. i love that they're all served with whipped cream and some berries. next time i definitely want to get some real appetizers so i will be bringing some more people. our server was joel, he was great & it was very busy so im glad we got a reservation, but i would really like to sit at the bar eventually. it was super nice and decorated very nicely.
