The response time was amazing, and Ami was able to come over the next day to give us a quote. He explained everything so well, and instructed me on what to buy for hardware. After purchasing all the hardware, he came back and installed everything for substantially less than other companies had quoted. I could not be more impressed with this small business. Ami was professional, friendly, hard working, extremely knowledgable on locks and home safety, and even took his shoes off in our home. He went above and beyond making sure all the doors closed securely (I even feel like I have new doors and not just hardware), had me try each lock, and explained the key pad to me that he installed on our garage door. We drove all the way down to my Mom's place in Chicago, when it was time to go back home the garage door wouldn't open. We had no idea what was wrong with it. We were stuck. We called AD Garage Doors and Locks and they were able to come out the same day! Ami showed up right on time. He explained that it was due to a broken cable! He got the door opened and we were able to hit the road home. He managed to save my mom's door and replaced the cable. He was honest and didn't try to sell my mom a new door since it was just the cable that broke. He's also very funny guy if you get a chance to chat with him. Our garage had been acting up for the past couple of weeks. It would open half way then come all the way down before opening fully. It progressively got bad to a point where it would only stay open half way, and I feared that it would eventually fall on my head....or even worse my car. That was when I knew I needed immediate intervention. Should I have called someone to come look at it way before things got bad? Sure. But you see, I'm always hustlin' and don't have to time to deal with things like these? Would it require me to take a day off work to get it fixed? What if it was a multiple day project? I can't. Ami picked up my call at 7AM (I know, I'm crazy) and said that he would be able to meet me during lunch. Great! It almost sounded too good to be true, but I rolled with it anyways. Ami came by within his quoted time, gave me a courtesy 30-min call prior to arrival, and got down to business as soon as he arrived on site. Ami assessed the situation and accurately determined what was wrong with my garage and got it repaired under an hour. I didn't have to take off work which was the best part. Ami is great. He is experienced, no fuss, and fair. He will tell you what needs to be done, what is recommended, and what isn't necessary. I found his pricing to be very reasonable as well. We had some pretty terrible locks on our doors thanks to shortcuts of the developer of our condo building, so we looked into repair and replacement as well as latch locks as an extra safety measure. AD was by far: 1) The most responsive to my request for a quote 2) The most reasonably priced (and was one of the only companies willing to provide a free quote) - we paid about half what we were being quoted by every other company 3) Fastest - job was done the same day I sent an initial email for a quote 4) Most courteous and honest- seriously one of the NICEST companies I've ever used and didn't try to sneak in a bunch of charges, etc. Plus, the work done was fantastic. We hired Ami to rekey the exterior locks in our new home. Upon his initial assessment, he noted that the lock mechanisms on all 3 exterior doors were very old and should be replaced (among other issues he noted with interior doors). He provided an estimate for replacing but did not push us to move forward as he saw our apprehension, as it was unexpected. Instead, he gladly rekeyed our front door and provided us with details on his suggestions for the others. We would gladly work with them again. Requested a quote, received the best pricing and was able to schedule an appointment within minutes. 2. Ami called ahead when he was on his way and was even flexible when I was caught in traffic on my way home. 3. Stuck to their original quote even though they didn't realize I had asked for electronic WiFi locks to be re-keyed. 4. Didn't charge for re-keying the locks that wouldn't work anymore due to a faulty lock mechanism. Ami also did some additional work to ensure the deadbolt locks would lock smoothly and didn't charge extra for it. His primary interest is in your happiness and providing the highest quality service. 5. You get to deal directly with the business owner, who is hard working and a pleasure to deal with even after working for three hours. Although, I should first take a step back and mention how great it was working with Deri to get the discussion started of my new home's door lock needs and scheduling - she was fantastic. Wow, talk about quick, affordable and professional service. After getting a quote for a different locksmith for $120for a mailbox lock that needed changing, I sent a message on here to 8 locksmiths in the area Yelp picked in my area. Within minutes AD Garage Doors and Locks LLC responded and told me they could change it for $59 total. I said it was not urgent, and they still sent someone (a guy named Ami) out within an hour to change the lock and gave me 2 new keys. It literally took minutes. He sprayed some WD-40 on the lock and recommended I do the same twice a year. I doubt you find quicker and more affordable service. read more
