This is getting a one star because we had a very nice server. Aside from this just keep on scrolling. The food was meh to be kind. Tried ordering the gnocchi with sage butter but they were out of it on Saturday at 5:30. This is a regular menu item. Ended up going with the special which what gnocchi with red pepper flakes and something else.. this dish was flaming hot! It was not advertised as a spicy dish, too hot to eat and no other flavor besides oil and chili flakes. Very disappointed! The arancini appetizer was bland. I left hungry after paying over $200 dollars for three people. Now let's get to the owner... thumbs way down. This man is condescending and arrogant. We were there to celebrate a birthday and in total with drinks we payed close to a thousand dollars for the entire table. This man came to our table and told us he was getting complaints and we needed to quiet down. Are you kidding me? We are there as patrons, buying appetizers, drinks and entrees and you have the audacity to tell us to pipe down, when we were seated next to another birthday party whom were being just as loud as we were. Really was hoping this place would be good but I will not return. If you want to eat with a party of 4 or more I would go somewhere else. My friends and I were celebrating a birthday and the owner was very rude. Another group of people were also celebrating a birthday and being loud and the owner went to our group only and told us to be quiet. He was not very pleasant when he sat us. The servers were great though definitely make up for his attitude. As for the food I had the special which was gnocchi in red sauce and Calabrian chili oil and it was just hot with no flavor. The bruschetta was good and I will give them 5 stars on the octopus because that was absolutely delicious (I would go back in and get that to go) the only entree that was liked amongst our table of 12 was the meat balls and polenta (that was done perfectly). Where do I begin... We arrived at 7pm on a busy night, the servers told us it would only be a 15 minute wait for a party of 2. Since it was extremely busy inside the restaurant we were asked to wait outside. After a 45 minute waiting period, the host informed that we could be seated- but only if we're okay with being seated with a party of 3. We agreed because at that point we were getting really hungry. Turns out the party of the 3 was a birthday party. I am all for birthdays, but this was also my girlfriend and I's anniversary. We were hoping it would be more of an intimate experience (like being sat at our own table) but nonetheless we tried to push on and stay happy despite the circumstances. THIS RESTAURANT IS EXTREMELY EXTREMELY LOUD!!! If you have any issue with loudness whatsoever, do not expect this place to be quiet. We ordered our food pretty quickly, the server was sweet but so busy that she couldn't take her time to do her job- we saw her running around the restaurant like a madman trying to take care of every single thing. We seriously had to yell at her for her to hear our order, so imagine us trying to talk to each other over the table trying to have a conversation...on our anniversary. Now for the food, I hate to say that we were both underwhelmed. SMALL PORTION SIZES!! After waiting 45 minutes to be seated and then an additional 45 minutes to receive the food, we finished it in literally 10 minutes or less. We left quickly after paying the bill. The entirety of this review is really hard for me to write since I am not a review writer or complainer, but I feel I need to tell those that don't handle noise well or don't want to spend $20+ per meal that takes 5 bites to finish. Adamo's it's a small little Italian eatery located in the heart of downtown/Midtown section of Sacramento. We have never been here before, but all of the food pictures looked enticing enough, that we wanted to try it. During COVID-19 restrictions, we knew that we would be dining outdoors, and we were dressed accordingly. The seating is in the back of the restaurant, and there are only four tables to accommodate either two people, four people or possibly six people. We were seated on the outer edge of the grouping of tables. There is one heat lamp. That's right folks, just one. When we were seated only one other table was occupied, so it would've made sense had we've been seated at one of the other tables close to the heat. The only lighting are the stars in one strand of twinkle lights across the fence. The tables are a little rickety since they're located right on top of uneven pavement. The server was rather scattered which I thought was odd since you're only a few of us dining outdoors, and we had to ask for the same things over and over again. I have no idea if the guy is the owner, or wait staff, or? The menu is currently fairly limited, so if you are looking for something specific I would encourage you to call before showing up. Appetizers were ordered, and when they came out the waiter placed them in the wrong places making it incredibly awkward and uncomfortable. When dinner was served it seemed to of taken far longer for food service which again, did not make a lot of sense. Maybe there's something going on in the kitchen that we were unaware of. The arancini was good, but not fabulous. It wasn't overly hot but more room temperature. I like the fact that the marinara tasted house made, and had bits and pieces of tomato in it. Appetizers always are a mystery to me. I find it ironic that a restaurants in many cases will offer an odd amount of pieces to the appetizer making it almost impossible to properly share with the person that you are dining with. Salad was served prior to the entrées arriving which was nice. Basic house salad with a light vinaigrette that was tasty, but again not spectacular. So far the food slightly matched up to the pictures that were seen online. I ordered the lasagna as my entrée, and was super excited to try it because it's 100% filled with beef, which is pretty unusual. Usually lasagna and restaurants is filled with a combination of beef and pork. I have really mixed feelings about the lasagna. I'm so used to seeing numerous layers of lasagna served to me in restaurants, and seeing that this restaurant is known for making their own pasta in the house, I was excited by an image created in my own head. I was really disappointed in the size more so, then a presentation. The lasagna might've been two layers at best but really came out looking like a queso dip. It was super tasty, but when it arrived it was still very cold. The waiter happen to of come outside and I politely asked if he would mind heating my entrée up. He returned 20+ minutes later. It would've been nice if he had given me a heads up that it was going to take that long to simply heat my meal that should've already been piping hot when it came out. It was tasty but not anything that I would go out of my way to have again. I was super excited to try either the tiramisu or the cannolis. When we ordered dessert, We were told the only thing that was available or two cannolis. Everything else was gone or maybe they haven't even made it. I get it dessert is pricey. The cannolis absolutely did not look like anything that I had seen in pictures posted online. The presentation was more like something you'd expect to serve yourself at home, not in a restaurant. I love when things are a little out of the ordinary, and these were lemon filled cannolis. The lemon was like a lemon curd, there just wasn't very much of it. The cannoli shell itself was bland and nothing special. It may have been better had the filling actually filled the cannoli shell. We had to go into the restaurant in order to pay the bill which I found to be rather unusual. Especially because there are other people waiting to pay their bill as well. It made it incredibly uncomfortable because everyone could see the screen including the amount tipped. I even made the comment to the waiter that it was difficult for me to see the screen because while he had it across the huge bar counter, the fact that he had a pointed towards everyone, just was in poor form. I tipped fairly hefty, and am questioning myself as to why. I don't know that I will return during Covid, but may consider giving them a try if and when indoor dining opens, just to see if things improve. read more

We made reservations for a friend's birthday dinner. Unfortunately we didn't feel very welcomed by the manager. Our waiter Mathew(?) Was great I would give him a thousand stars! But we had multiple issues with a few our entrees- rubbery/weird texture chicken in one of the chicken Alfredo dishes, under cooked/slimy salmon in the salmon piccata then the replacement dish had hair in it. The manager (older man) told us that the kitchen was closed and that we could not put in any orders but we watch multiple customers come in, be seated and place orders. Not sure if this was his way of refusing service but it was extremely rude. I will probably try again at a later date and ask for well done salmon because the flavor of the Salmon Piccata was delicious. read more

This is one of the best italian spots I have ever tried. I have been hearing how good Adamos is for years and finally had the chance to judge for myself. Its good, soooo good! The food is delicious, the staff is attentive. On this visit I had the bolognese, I kept seeing its everyones favorite so I had to try it for myself. The flavor is so good. Also, really enjoyed the dressing on the side salad. I ate here for the first time. Mathew helped me. I was planning on ordering the carbonara but he recommended the seasonal special, which creamy wine sauce, cauliflower and butternut squash. Not something I would typically order. But it was amazing. The pasta was cooked Al dente (the proper way lol) and so was the cauliflower and butternut squash. It came with a salad to start and garlic bread. He was so friendly and checked on me the perfect amount. I ordered a cannoli for dessert which I also wouldn't normally do. But because of the experience and service I wanted to try everything. I love when the staff actually enjoy their own restaurants food and have opinions they aren't shy to suggest. We came here last night as a group of 6. It was easy to make a reservation a few days ahead of time. We were seated at a communal long table near the entrance so there was an occasional draft just fyi. My husband got the spicy ravioli and it was sooooo good, very spicy but amazing sauce. Let me start by saying that I've been here several times and I always enjoy their delicious appetizers, pastas, and seconds. That hasn't changed. What has changed is that tonight when I asked for a little extra parmesan and sauce for my entrees, I was charged for both!!! It is disappointing that an Italian restaurant would charge their clients for these small extras that were miniscule in size, and without even saying that there would be an upcharge and giving me the option of accepting or not. It wasn't like I asked for a large amount of either. I was given small ramekin sizes of each as shown. I have NEVER in all my life been charged for either in an Italian restaurant. It's like going to a Mexican restaurant and asking for extra salsa for your burrito and then looking at the bill and seeing that they charged you an extra $3 for the salsa without even telling you there was a charge for essentially a condiment. This is enough for me to swear this place off in the future just on principle. So you got me for an extra $4.50 this time, but you'll be losing $100s of my money in the future. Owner/management - cease this nickle and diming practice and just add $0.50 - 1.00 to each entree so we don't see it. Better optics. read more

First time here. Customer service was absolute amazing from the very moment we walked in. Every employee was extremely friendly from the greeting, waitresses, kitchen staff. We ordered the stuffed peppers with goat cheese, octopus with potatoes, carbonara pasta & the chicken Alfredo pasta. The food is absolutely delicious!
