Extremely thrilled with this company. Sounds kind of strange to be excited about a refrigeration company, but they fit the bill when I was looking for somebody else besides the builders installers. Our compressor had sounded messed up from the day we moved into this new build, but Chaz Roberts refused to take responsibility for the bad install (over heated - weld). I reached out to the manufacturer and they recommended Adam's refrigeration. I purchased an extended warranty through Adam's refrigeration for the compressor, and now that I'm over a year of being in this home, I used that warranty to have a new compressor installed with Adam's refrigeration. Ron was The service tech tech looked over everything to get things ready for an extended warranty and then he also did the install yesterday. Extremely polite and knowledgeable. Had these ppl come out and see what was wrong with my unit. I was told I needed a brand new unit to the tune of $8100 bucks. I was told that this one couldn't be fixed and it was not repairable due to being 10 years old. The technician said that they don't even make the refrigerant anymore. I got a second opinion from George Brazil. They came out and immediately identified the problem. The "accumulator" was leaking oil. They said that they could replace the accumulator and recharge the system. He also said that the fan bearings were going and I should think about that as well but it didn't need to be done right away. Guess what company I used? I know times are tough they are tough for us too but to rip off customers is unconscionable. Bad form guys bad form. read more

It is comforting to know that I will have a reliable, honest company to work with for many years. The 3 year contact is a great bargain. What I especially like is how they will also service my evaporative cooler which is what I use the most. Many companies do not like to do that service so their prices are inflated. The technician told me things that I did not need to buy. He gave me honest answers and opinions to questions I asked. We bought an AC Tune-Up deal online. The guy came out and told us we needed a new outdoor fan motor, and it was going to be almost $750. We called another company to get another quote because the quote they gave us was above the high end according to an online Pricing Guide. The second company inspected the unit and told us the motor was fine. We almost wasted $750 repairing something that wasn't broken for way more than we should have paid even if it was. We will never use this company again. Update: The second opinion was wrong and two weeks later my AC is broken. We still think the repair estimate was high. read more

We called Adam's refrigeration to inspect the two HVAC units in the home we wanted to purchase. They did they inspection for $120 and told us the units worked without problem. Not even a month into owning the home, we called them out to perform a routine cleaning and maintenance of the units. We were told one unit had a clogged drain pipe that they flushed during this maintenance. About 2 weeks after that, that particular unit stopped cooling. Adam's returned to the house and found that the unit had frozen over and that water was overflowing the drainage pan. They claimed to have flushed this drainage pipe again during this visit. A week later, I called a different company out to come service this HVAC because we were still having problems. The drainage pan was overflowing still when the new company opened it up and there was extensive water damage. The second company had to remove a portion of the drainage pipe that had calcified over and created a complete blockage. There is no way that the technician from Adam's would have been able to flush this line, though they claimed to have done it twice. I called Rex, the owner of Adam's Refrigeration to tell him all of this and explained what had happened. I was upset that we had spent over $1000 with his company for services that I don't believe they ever actually performed. Our HVAC was always left in the same subpar condition and I was never notified that the pump was still leaking water all over. Rex listened to me and told me he would look into and get back to me the next day. Of course, no phone call the next day or any day after that. I have called him back three times after, but he refuses to take my call or return my messages. This company is unprofessional and scammed us out of $1000. read more

Since writing my inital review, I've had a couple of more experiences with Adam's. A few weeks before they came out to fix my system (from the initial review, I had them come do the annual "prep your system for Spring/Summer" check. The service man as always was super friendly and professional. He also advised me that the piggyback evap system needed a little repair. Knowing my system was older, I asked if he thought it was worth the investment. My thinking was that if the system needed to be replaced this season, that I would just save my money and let it run unitl it died. then apply that amount to the costs of a new one. He said he definately thought it would be fine. When he asked if I would like to buy the package that included a fall shut down / clean out and explained the cost savings, I thought this sounded like a great idea since it had to be done anyway. When the evap system had to be shut down because it was leaking on my A/C, it didn't occur to me to ask about the fall system shut down that I had paid for. So when I called to schedule my heater inspection and asked about transferring the fee a different service, I was surprised by their negative response. Instead they questioned why I hadn't called as soon as the cooler had to be shut off to complain to the owner. I don't ever remember a company "asking" me to complain to an owner. And honestly, I was talking to someone that said he was the service manager, so why he couldn't research the issue and present it to the owner was a little beyone my comprehension. Um, isn't that your job? I did have them bid on installing a new evap, but they were significantly higher than other bids and considering I was already out the initial repair costs and was losing the service fee I had paid for the end of season work, I am not inclined to do business with them in the future. Too bad. They are close to my house and have always treated my parents well. I just didn't get the same consistent level of service. read more

I like that the servicemen arrived on time he worked to find out what her problem was, he couldn't fix it alone because he needed to pull a thermostat wire up to the unit, he said he'd see us the next day. it turned out it was a day that they were closed, but since he had promised that's he would see us the next day, he was here and brought a helper to get the thermostat wire pulled through and got the refrigeration fixed. I will definitely use him again and tell my neighbors if asked, because people ask me all the time about who to call or if I know someone for different problems. In fact my neighbor recommended Adams Refrigeration to me, and I will definitely recommend them. read more

We initially had a good experience with Adams Refrigeration when they installed our A/C two years ago. They have been out twice a year since then to do check-ups. This last check-up we got a last minute cancelation from them. The appointment ended up being rescheduled a couple of times because of other emergency situations. Two weeks after the tech performed the check-up we woke up to our thermostat not working at all. We assumed this would be a warranty issue as it is a new unit and they are the only ones that have touched it. It was a simple fix of a loose wire, but they still charged us even though it was their work. I will not be using a company that does not warranty their work. read more

Adams refrigeration has been nothing but problems. I have a home warranty contract with them, which they have decided to not follow through with. I believe Rex (the owner) and his employees sold me a lemon of a unit. During the summer months, my main unit always gives out. Rex's company is constantly having to come out and replace parts. Rex and his employees claim that this issue happens because the unit is in the sun. We have another unit on the side which is also in the sun, that gives us no problems, as well as all of our neighbors have units that sit in the sun that give them no problems. I believe this was Rex's fast way out of fixing the lemmon he sold us, I mean this is Arizona the sun should not be the problem! About 2 weeks ago our unit was giving us issues again so we called Adams Refrigeration. This was a weekend evening and Rex answers the phone, not pleased to hear it is us again. We let Rex know about our issue, and tell him we need a technician to come out tonight (as that is part of our home warranty). Rex goes on to explain how that is not going to work and we will charge us an extra fee. I explain to him once again that this fee is not part of our warranty. Rex decides to not respond to me on the phone! I thought he hung up so I dialed him back and he goes on to say that he wasn't responding because we were "yelling at him". I let Rex know that I was not yelling at all, and he must send someone out soon. About an hour later a tech shows up, and he is not in the best of moods. I offer him a water bottle, and explain the issue. Just like Rex, this tech has a bad attitude and states that it's hot out and that's the issue. I let him know my thoughts, saying how I believe that is not the case. He responds with a nasty tone saying "well would you like me to even look at it or should I leave". I did not like that response at all and did not make me feel safe at all, so I told him to please leave and I called Rex to ask him to send a tech that wouldn't be rude to me or my family. Rex never called me back ... like ever, even though I've called him and left a message explaining I have a warranty! Since that evening, Rex decided that he will no longer be working with us, because of the way we "treated him and his company", even though I have a warranty! Rex and Adams Refrigeration has been nothing but problems, and has left me feeling uncomfortable after almost every interaction. I hope this company learns to take better care of its customers. read more

Our AC repair company flaked out on us when we had an emergency weekend repair. United Refrigeration referred us to Adams Refrigeration and within 45 min-1 hr their tech was at our house making the repair. The price was super steep and I questioned the tech if that was the best deal to which he replied the prices are set and can't be changed. We reluctantly agreed and he was in and out within 15-20 min with a $336.95 paid invoice. I was unsettled about those charges and after investigating the part ranges from $20-60 (Adams Refrigeration cost for the part ranges from $45-59). This called for a trip to their office to talk to the owner/manager, Russ. I explained my dilemma and after a review of the paperwork and price book that is used, Russ agreed to charge me the secondary repair charge, returned my check to me and charged my credit card $246.95 which is much more reasonable for what was done. I stand by a company that does the right thing and they have certainly earned my repeat business. The tech didn't have another part that our AC needed and Russ even gave that to me for free for the trouble. Far exceeded my expectations and earned my business. We have been using them for at least eight years now and I would highly recommend them. They are very professional, arrive within the time they say they will and will stay until the job is completed. Let me start with I am a business owner, and I know how important reviews are. I wouldn't write a bad review unless I received really horrible service. Today I was referred to Adams Refrigeration by Goodman brand air conditioners. Goodman had the part I needed but I no longer have a contractors license and they do not sell retail. Goodman had explained to me that they do business with Adams refrigeration and that I could buy the part from Adams retail. The woman at Goodman said I could pay Adams over the phone and pick up the part at the Goodman location. I contacted Adams refrigeration and pressed option 2 for parts. A person named John answered, I started repeating what the women at Goodman had told me and I immediately get confrontation ,attitude and push back from John like this was not possible, so I start to repeat what the woman at Goodman had said, which she made sound very simple. John gets really snotty and says with the most sarcastic tone, I don't know I have to check, you haven't even given me a part number. I tell John there is no reason to get pissy I am just trying to buy a fan blade and he responds ok guy, and puts me on hold. When John returns he says "your special price for today is 146.20$. It sounded very high, but I said ok and we ended our conversation. The part is a condenser fan blade. After I get off the phone I thought back how he said "my special price", so called a friend who is a HVAC tech to tell him the price John quoted and he says no the guy is trying to rip you off. He makes a few calls around and makes it so I can buy direct from Goodman. The part Adams refrigeration or better yet John was trying to give "the special price of 146.20" cost only 34.39$ total wholesale. I am a business owner and I understand a reasonable mark up but very few industries have a 325% mark up and I know HVAC parts are not one of these industries. I would assume John is an employee, because I could never imagine a business owner talking down to a customer the way John does. If ever found out that one of my employees treated one my customers in this manner, I would terminate them on the spot. As for Adams as a company I can not speak of they might be a great company but after my experience earlier today I would never attempt to do any business with them ever again. read more
