The burger was juicy and well cooked. Their burgers are 1/2 lbs so it was big. The pickle chips were crunchy and really good. Portion was huge and worth the up charge. My lunch partner chose Cajun fries and they were crispy and flavorful. Our server was great! She was so nice! One negative, they allow dogs and many people brought their dogs. Since the space is enclosed, I did not like all the dogs while I was eating. It was tricky leaving since the hostess stand is located in the tight entrance and there was a dog right in the doorway. My lunch companion is deathly allergic to dogs. Luckily this dog owner was considerate and moved their dog so we could pass. Other than all the dogs, we enjoyed our meal and would come again.

My husband said his bathroom was filthy too. We won't be returning.

(Some positive notes included below, but 1st...) I'm giving 2 stars because I don't believe I got any of my questions answered honestly. I'll elaborate: In this day and age of food sensitivities and allergies, a higher-end, upscale foodie restaurant such as Addison's (with the higher-end prices to match) SHOULD technically be prepared to answer annoying questions. I questioned if their complimentary compound butter served with the bread for meals was actually REAL butter. It had the awful aftertaste of soybean/vegetable spread/margerine/fake butter. Fake butters leave a horrid, waxy texture and awful taste on the tongue that ya just can't get rid of. They also advertise compound butter on their menu for upcharges so THAT'S why I question if it's honest advertising? I'm not convinced I received an accurate answer (read why below). Furthermore, they printed the term, "garlic olive oil SAUCE" for one of their entrees. I questioned if it was actually JUST garlic & olive oil or if it was something else? Again, food allergies are speaking here. I've got to be careful whenever I eat at new places. So when I received my entree and there's a weird taste other than olive oil & garlic, ya better believe I'm going to ask what else is in this "sauce"! Most restaurants simply state garlic & olive oil. Most restaurants don't add the word "sauce" if they're only using garlic and olive oil. Was there meat or fish stock in it? Is there a thickening agent used, such as flour, tapioca starch, etc.? Is it a pre-prepped "sauce" out of a bag/box/can? Unfortunately, I never received a clear answer. The server used language such as "I think it's just..." followed by "I'll go ask for you..." followed by, "it's just olive oil and garlic. I think." And phrasing such as, "I'm pretty sure..." Yeah; that doesn't make me feel safe to eat! Did you even ask? Did the chef get annoyed and kick you out of the kitchen when you tried? Did the server just try to figure it out alone? On a side note, when asked if I wanted, "Fresh cracked black pepper" on my salad, it was disappointing to eat a forkful of white pepper. I dislike white pepper. Typically common in Chinese cooking, I don't care for white pepper. So 2 stars because I shouldn't have to eat feeling paranoid I'm gonna go into anaphylactic shock because you failed to disclose you're using mystery ingredients. And 2 stars because you don't know the difference between white and black pepper. And 2 stars because management doesn't bother to print prices of what their martinis and drink cocktails are. I'd like to know if I'm ordering a $10 or $18 drink without having to ask. (I'm annoying enough to the waitstaff, right?!) Now some positives. The other foods looked very pretty and appetizing. My husband LOVED the porkchop. The facility was comfortable, clean & cozy for a strange strip mall in Mchenry. And a HUGE kudos to the server for maintaining her patience in front of me. (Obviously I'm a pain in the butt. Even though she likely went into the boh to make fun of me. But that's ok). read more

Addison's Steakhouse has a menu of great choices for all! I have had the pleasure of dining there a number of times and I plan to go back again soon. I enjoyed an evening of great drinks, appetizers and excellent entrees with a large group that included family and friends. We had made reservations for 7, and we were seated within minutes of our arrival. We ordered crab-stuffed shrimp with hollandaise sauce(my particular favorite), Italian sausage stuffed mushrooms and Roasted garlic margherita grilled flat bread for starters to share. There were a variety of steak dinners ordered along with lobster tails and shrimp. Some of us had Baked french onion soup with Swiss and provolone cheese, which was so very good, salads, etc. For my entree I had the Rosemary pork medalions with wild mushrooms in a Sage white wine sauce over their signature garlic mashed potatoes, which are definitely homemade. Everything was cooked perfectly and in a timely manner. Even though we all had plenty to eat, we couldn't resist trying a few desserts and drinks after. We decided on pomegranite cheesecake, key lime pie and their brownie topped with ice cream drizzled with caramel and chocolate. All so yummy! Service was on cue, no complaints from anyone. The owners, Jon & Bre were on hand throughout the evening checking on each of us and the other patrons making sure we were all being taken care of and happy with our experience there. It was a fun night for all and I'm definitely ready to go back for another awesome dinner! read more

The food is great, the environment is friendly and the finishes are well done. The service was accommodating and better than many other restaurants around. I had the Filet and it was cooked exactly how I requested, medium. My sides were the peppers medley and garlic mashed potatoes which were delicious and ample portions. We had the salted pecan sundae which was incredible. I believe this restaurant deserves the solid reviews as shown in my 5 stars. I feel the service and food is terrific. It is worth mentioning that the restaurant both inside and outside are very clean as well, which many restaurants have good food and service, but the finishes are not as well done and/or uncleanliness leaves something to be desired. I TOTALLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!! I absolutely love Addisons! My husband and I went for the first time about a month ago and it we excellent.! All of our food come out beautifully. The staff has been nothing but attentive and on point It was a nice relaxing night. I first started with the stuffed shrimp with crab and we loved it! Then I ordered the 8 ounce filet and my husband had the ribeye and both came out fantastic. I ordered the crab oscar on top of my filet and it was so delicious with so much flavor! I love the menu there is so many unique items! After our first time we've back there three other times since..!! First time to visit ADDISON'S Steakhouse. We had a wonderful dining experience. The service and food was great. We enjoyed seeing 16-17 year old males serving water. They were both very friendly and seemed to enjoy their job. Our hostess (Bri) and waitress (Molly) were both very nice and cared about their service. Now the important part.....THE FOOD: T-bone, Filet, Ribeye, Creamed Spinach, Asparagus, Onion Strings, Stuffed Mushrooms, Soft Pretzel, Baked Potatoes were are cooked to perfection. Wonderful flavor. Amazing food! We had a party of 9 with reservations on a Saturday night. We even got there early and our table was ready for us. All 9 of us ordered something different and we all loved our food. That's right no complaints from anyone! The owners come out a few times to check on us and their other guests. Oh and the dinner rolls they brought out ahead of time were unique and delicious. I know everyone's prices everywhere have gone up, but I just can't justify what I paid for what I got. The food is genuinely excellent. What makes this place stand out is the fusion of classic American bar food with Indian flavors. You can go the traditional route with burgers, wings, and fries, or branch out into dishes with real spice and depth like samosas, curry plates, and tikka-style options. Even Curry Pizza! The flavors are bold, unique, and far better than what you expect from a casual bar and grill. It is the kind of menu that makes you want to try something new every time you go back. The atmosphere is exactly what a good local bar should be. Friendly crowd, welcoming staff, TVs for the game, and a relaxed neighborhood vibe. We were fortunate enough to show up on Wednesday, Karaoke Night! It feels like the kind of place where regulars hang out, newcomers are welcomed, and nobody is taking themselves too seriously. Now the only small sting, the prices... The food is great, but the bill can creep up a little faster than you might expect for a bar and grill. That said, food costs everywhere have been climbing thanks to the current administration's Big Ugly Bill, inflation, tariffs, the cost of war, and the general economic circus we are all living in right now! Still, despite the bite out of my bank account, we can't blame the restaurants when everything from basic ingredients to beef to cooking oil and staffing costs more than it used to!
