I hate writing poor reviews when I feel a restaurant is trying, but I would do a disservice to readers if I told them this place was better than it was. I also feel that hints to the owners could help, so I'll try. The cycling air conditioning starts poking at you every 3 minutes as it cycles. Simple diffusers in the ceiling vents would help. 2 stage central air would as well. So many restaurants just blast air that sometimes I wonder if I should bother mentioning it, but alas... The tables were fun industrial chic, but the extra "hardware" on the bottom of the tables make it so tall that if you are under 5'7", you will feel like a child at the big people's table. I have no suggestions how to fix it. Just sharing my 85 year old, short Mother's comments. Drinks were good enough, no complaints. We had a Mai Tai, a Maker's Mark Manhattan, and a glass of red wine. We did not order appetizers but one of us ordered a bowl of the French onion. It was good. Not too sweet, a little salty for some people, missing a good beef background, but maybe it is vegetarian. The cheese came together as a big glob pretty quickly, but that is another classic issue in not sure how to solve. I like that it was not gruyere, but traditionalists would be disappointed. Side salad wss decent sized and on a plate that makes it pretty easy to cut. One of us was very disappointed in the blue cheese dressing. It was thin, lacked chunks, and had barely any blue cheese flavor. We saw that complaint in earlier reviews, so we were hoping that they would have fixed this by now. Makes me wonder if they are reading reviews and responding to suggestions. The ranch at balsamic were fine. One salad had a nice mix of lettuce, one was mostly iceberg. Suggestion: train staff to mix well. They served decent rolls, but the sweet (honey?) Butter was a bit unexpected and not necessary. That kind of butter is best for cornbread, and southern kitchens, but a bit off- putting on traditional rolls and straight forward cuisine. The double cut pork T-bone was not thick enough to be called that. Real "double cuts" are impressively thick. These were like Jewel thick cuts. The medallions were fine. Both were overcooked and a bit dry. Both diners liked the potatoes and still-crisp asparagus. The sauce on the medallions was a bit salty and overwhelmed some of the more dedicate flavors. I had the lobster roll. My biggest disappointment was that they used langistinos. Those are supposedly in the lobster family, but they totally lack lobster flavor. The key to lobster roll is to have that briny, delicate, unmistakable lobster flavor. This tasted like rock shrimp. It doesn't taste bad. It just doesn't taste at all. Luckily the prep and the bread and the sauces made the sandwich tasty enough that I enjoyed it, but go to Paninos if you want a flawless lobster roll. The bread is a short cut from the traditional rolls used, but with the overabundance of garlicky butter the toast was slathered did help cover the lack of flavor from the langostinos. We skipped dessert as the the list of items was one of the most uninspired dessert menus I have seen in awhile. Cheesecake, cheesecake, chocolate cake, fudge brownie... And oh, cheesecake. If you like cheesecake, I guess you'll be happy. Overall, I don't think I will be back here to eat. I will watch the reviews, and if it seems that management is heeding some of the bad reviews, and correcting things, then I am willing to give it another try. I always hope for restaurants to succeed and I wish these owners the best. My suggestion is to consider the feedback given throughout the posts. read more

My wife and I went to Addison's Steakhouse this past weekend on a somewhat rainy day. We called ahead to see if they will be having outdoor seating. They said since if is not raining, we will dry your table off and have it ready. When we got there, it was misting, but we were still able to eat outside as I do not feel comfortable eating inside yet. We were greeted so happily by Hannah S, who said I don't mind at all serving you folks out in the misting rain. Hannah took our order and I explained to her that I was on a low salt diet, and she made sure to relay that to the chef to make sure my food would not have any extra salt added to it and she also help my make my meal choice. When we got our food, Hannah said that the Chef made a fresh Marsella sauce just for me. I really felt special that first of all the Chef would do that but also Hannah brought up my situation to the Chef. Needless to say, that my Chicken Marsella and my wife's Chicken & Artichokes were both off the charts. Hats off to the chef and his staff and a special thanks to Hannah who took great care of us. The service was terrible, a bunch of young kids running around with what seemed to be no direction. Had to remind the waitress that she had not brought out the soup before the main course. The filet was dry and crusty on the outside and rare in the center, medium had been ordered. We will never go back and caution others to stand clear until the management makes some needed changes. read more

Great option during these trying times! We are new to the area and were looking for an alternative to home cooking and pizza. Found Addison's steakhouse and noticed they offered takeout. We ordered appetizers, salads and entrees. The wedge salad and pork medallions were fantastic. I highly recommend this restaurant and urge others to keep them going as an option during (and after) this virus disaster ends! They have a wide selection of options beyond just steak. I'd love to make a good review of Addisons but I just can't find a reason to come back. We have given it four attempts, I really like a good steak and really thought this would be the place buts it's very mediocre for the price. Heck, they could cut their price in half and I still wouldn't be back. It's in a strip mall so you are already limited with the ambiance so I would expect them to make it up in food and service. No dice. Service is average at best, food leaves even more to be desired. If they comped my next meal I'd give it away. read more

WATCH YOUR CREDIT CARD! Went there on a Sunday afternoon, food was good, but when I got the check I gave my credit card and left a $20 tip. When I checked my credit card statement the next day, they had changed the amount and gave themselves a $30 tip! I called to complain and the manager didn't even apologize...had to call the credit card company and dispute it. I will NEVER go back!!! The service was great by Kyya. The crab cakes were wonderful. My husband loved the cream spinach My filet was excellent, but the 24 oz porterhouse ? Can't imagine it was that much. Fairly thin so when ordered Med rare towards the rare side came out medium at best the first time, for a $39 piece of meat, sent it back and it came out cold. So really liked the place, but when you advertise 21 day aged steaks, you should be able to cook it to order. Other kind of weird thing is the TVS AND VIDEO gaming in a upscale restaurant. read more

If it were possible to give a zero star rating, then I would because I have never witnessed such a horrible customer service experience. My wife and two of her friends visited this steakhouse tonight and were treated very inhuman and I wanted to share their experience. When their Caesar salad arrived, it had bacon on it and they asked to have one without bacon....they were told to pick it off if they didn't like bacon. After several complaints about the service, they were told "not to come back if they didn't like it!" Before they could finish their meal, the waitress came and took their plates of which they were still eating from and also took their to go containers from them also. When they asked to speak with the manager, they were told that the manager was tied up and couldn't talk to them. That's strange when she didn't even go let the manager know that his/her presence was requested. So I decided to call and express my dissatisfaction with the service they received. I was told via phone that there was no manager on shift to speak to me and the only person there was the manager. So I proceeded to request to speak to the manager. I was told that they were closing in an hour and the manager couldn't speak to me. The staff was very reluctant to give me the owners name but I continued to pressure them until they gave it to me. So let's get down to the brass tax, the three patrons were black women, they were told to leave if they didn't like the service, the staff refused to produce a manager to discuss the extremely poor service, they would not allow me to speak with him via phone even with an hour left to close. If this is the way you treat African Americans at your restaurant, we will take our dollars elsewhere just like we did a similar eatery in Atlanta, Ga! I am formally requesting the owner to call me to rectify this matter or I will press forward! @Marie T.....sounds like the waitress wrote this reply on a fake Yelp account.....and it's funny how this is your only restaurant review....definitely not a Yelper. You sound very defensive and racist yourself for stating that blacks don't like to tip. I'm sure that the roofing company that you blasted for doing a bad job for you doesn't do bad work for everyone but since you had a bad experience, you put them on Yelp. And why did you mention being "a slave" on your roofing review? Try minding your business if you don't know the story and we will let you get your roof fixed on your mobile home!!!! read more

We drive by this place a lot and always joke..we should go to the fancy steakhouse in the strip mall. :) Well, we finally did. It wasn't awful, just ok. If you're going to be a steakhouse you should at least get the steaks right. To be fair, the steak did come with a soup or salad and 2 generous sides. The grilled seasonal vegetables and garlic mashed we're good! We ordered 12 oz filets, medium rare. The middle was just that..however everywhere but the middle was well done. So like I said, should at least get the steaks right for being a steakhouse. Decor was nice, but I think they should have switched the bar and restaurant around. Not used to looking out at smokers and bright car lights in my eyes from the parking lot as I'm eating an expensive dinner. We might go back for a sandwich or burger, but for a romantic date night? Way overpriced, Texas Roadhouse is more than half the price and it's 100 times better. Everyones food was cold. Steaks were all undercooked (mostly raw) when we ordered medium. We sent them all back and they came back raw again. The manager was supposed to come to the table and never showed. Service was horrible, we waited over 20 minutes just to have our drinks refilled two times. Out of all 10 of us that went, not one of us will be back. Not worth it it all. Steaks had no flavor. Scallops tasted good, but they would have tasted much better hot or even warm. its making me give 1 star but really it's zero for our party of 10. Trust me, don't waste your money!!! read more

First time here and will definitely return. Along with the food being delicious and beautifully presented, along with a nice, comfortable atmosphere, what really put our dining experience over the top was the staff here. We were greeted courteously upon arrival and seated promptly, for starters. But, I'd especially like to mention, and to thank, our waiter, Jeremy. His service was excellent, despite the increasing demands of a busy Saturday dinner crowd. I'm very grateful to him, also, because I accidentally left my tablet on the table when we left. Jeremy spotted it and managed to catch us right after we left the restaurant to return it! Wow! I didn't even realize I'd left it! We were already very pleased with our dining experience, but this final act of attentiveness was so impressive, I wanted to acknowledge it publicly. I know that restaurants and their staff have faced a difficult reality over the last year and a half, and so it's especially deserving of a thank you to all the staff, and especially to Jeremy, for a very pleasant dining experience! read more

Very disappointing.Took our son there for his birthday.My granddaughter wanted shrimp on her Caesar salad I said sure as long as you eat everything 3 shrimp for 12 dollars WOW! The server tried to give me the same excuse well you know because of covid we had to raise the prices Ok I get raising prices but out and out ripping people off is very disappointing.My sons dish of the Seafood Capellini was $38 and the veggies were all mushy not a good dish.My Old fashioned was 11.50 they don't even charge this at Ishnala which is a pricy super club in the Dells.We will not be going back until they change their ways.We are always trying to support the small business but not when you get ripped off . read more

We had a party of eight last night. We saw mixed reviews but decided to try it. My steak was med-well done and I ordered med-rare. And it was fatty. Our waitress Cindy was gone for 20-30 mins and when she finally showed up and asked how our food was I told her my steak was over cooked. Her response was " well you are it " and walked away. Three of our friends ordered the scallop special and were all disappointed. Poor service and bad attitude by our waitress Cindy. I figured out why when the bill came as we were 8 so 18% gratuity added. And when I did the math it was actually over 20% because they do 18% of the total after taxes. I should have changed it but didn't want to make a scene. Horrible place don't waste your time. Better options in Mchenry like Bimbos, Jexal's, and DC Cobs. We will never go there again. First visit, Sadly I won't be back. My bother and I both ordered steaks. I had a $ 26.00 rib eye. Ordered med raw and it was cooked med raw but for a high priced steak I expected more. It was maybe a 1/4 in thick. Ok flavor, lots of fat and I don't mind that but too much. My brother had A flat iron steak for $20 and he wasn't impressed either. My seafood bisque was very good and served hot. My brother had salad, nice size, fresh but the croutons were very, very garlicky. Couldn't eat them. I also had garlic mashed loaded and way to much garlic for me . I also had orange glazed broccoli which was terrible. Did not eat that either. Wish I could give a better review , especially being a local business . I would have like to try lobster but I won't spend $30.00 for a add on tail. Or $69.00 for lobster dinner . Sorry read more

Came here for the first time tonight with friends. One of the other people in the group has been here once but just for a drink. Pleasantly surprised because not many places in McHenry for a good steak dinner. Steaks were all very good! We did not have reservations so we sat at high tables near the bar but it was nice especially because March Madness and plenty of televisions to see all the games! Food and service were all very good! Someone made a comment about steaks being thin but I have no idea what they were talking about because I think all ours were fine. I had a pepper sauce served in the side with scallops and all were perfect. We will be back and sorry we haven't tried it sooner! read more

This little gem of a steak house is hidden in a strip mall. We had the shrimp stuffed crab on a delicious bed of rice pilaf, t bones steaks done to perfection, with loaded garlic mashed potatoes and seasoned garlic green beans. So many options for sides as well as toppings. Their godiva chocolate martini are highly recommend as well as the delicious flourless chocolate cake with drizzles of chocolate whipped cream and strawberries. So So! My husband and I were excited to try this new establishment. We both ordered steaks; a filet and a strip. His filet was flavorless and my strip had a lot of gristle. My mashed potatoes tasted like they were instant or made with artificial butter. I could not eat them...When I mentioned this to our waiter, his response was, "Well I like them." Seriously? My husband and I ordered monk fish the one and only time we dined at Addisons. The fish came to our table smelling like garbage. My husband and I both tasted it but couldn't eat it, it was so nasty. I wondered why the wait staff couldn't smell it & why they never asked us about our meal that we hardly touched. I called Addisons to tell them of our experience but was never called back.
