We frequent Laguna Beach & we always catch the trolly infront of Adolfo's after eating across the street but this day I said let's try the Mexican restaurant! We did & it was pretty good! the workers were super friendly! It's family owned restaurant serving up traditional dishes! I had the Torte de carne asada which was pretty good with fries & a Mexican Coke! I liked the ambience of the restaurant with the colorful steel chairs outside that reminded me of my days in Mexicali I would come back when craving a Torta

Friendly service, lots of variety on menu, & they were open early. Jamaica was delicious, not too sweet. My enchilada & taco combo was simply okay. The beans were very good on the plate. My husband said his torta was okay as well. I'm all for supporting small family business so I'd return when in the area again & order something else.

What a fun and delicious place for Mexican food. I stopped by in the morning for a bacon, egg, cheese and potato breakfast burrito. I was not disappointed. First of all it was HUGE ! Lot's of bacon and cheese. The potatoes were cooked in such a way that they were just the right texture. I probably could have gone for a little less potato in the burrito but the taste was Great. They have a lot of other options which I haven't gotten a chance to try yet. Since it's located in downtown Laguna Beach, I will definitely get back to try a few other things. The people and the service was Outstanding !

GO HERE IT GIVES HOLES IN THE WALL IN THE BEST DAMN WAY!!! An awesome beach day was rounded out by this place! In the morning, my friends and I spent the morning at Anita Street Beach, and this restaurant is across the street, so we got a great lunch and kept our parking spots. In the end, I just went with a simple Jarritos Mexican flavor pineapple drink, and I'm sure they have every flavor available, including fruit punch, which I rarely see. There's no way I can resist ordering two because they're so good! I ordered a two-taco combo which came with rice and beans, plus sour cream (excuse the American in me). As a stopover lunch stop after a beach day, we were very happy with the service. It was fast and efficient.

This place is a great local food establishment if you want some real authentic chips and salsa with a nice patio dining area for you to enjoy the delicious food that is prepared fresh there in the restaurant and catch the local Pacific coast highway people driving by to see your amazing California burrito that I recommend you try ! The counter service was on point and the server recommended a few things that he liked as well as what we ordered for the recommendations

I'll be honest, last time I went in to a hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurant, my gut wasn't too happy that evening. Let's just say, this is NOT the experience I had at Adolfo's - SOOOOO delish. My husband and I were driving through Laguna on an off-season Thursday evening on vacation and found Adolfo's for dinner. Parking was SUPER simple behind the restaurant, with a small lot, accommodating about 10 cars. We walked in and ordered chips and salsa and a California burrito (with shredded beef) to share. The chips are home-made on-site. The salsa was fine and good. The burrito was very good - will note that we love fries in our California burritos but this one had potato cubes. Still delish, just different. My husband loves tortas, so we went back for seconds with a chorizo torta and got the chips and cheese. The torta and chorizo were SUPER delicious! For $5 for chips and cheese at a mexican restaurant, I expected a cup of queso and chips (or queso drizzled on top) -- nope, it was just generic shredded bag cheese on top of some chips that were heated in the microwave. If you've ever had this cheese in the microwave, you know that it congeals solid once it's cooled down. This was not the experience we were looked for. I do not recommend the chips and cheese. They did have 4 microwaves available to run. So I'd recommend figuring out what doesn't need a microwave and order only that. They were not busy when we were there, our food came out within minutes of ordering.

Adolfos is home away from home. Amongst the overpriced "new american" restaurants and awful gimmicky chains this is the only place in town i really go out to eat at anymore. Food is always good and the beers are always cold. Im here at least once a week to talk with other regulars and enjoy this hole in the wall that is truly the last of its kind in laguna. Best chorizo burrito in the world! Pairs great with a modelo.

Beans taste homemade and traditionally made. Salsa had a little kick to it but not too spicy. Ordered the parrillada; the chicken was tender and moist. The shredded pork carnitas were crispy yet juicy. The steak was perfectly medium rare and tender to eat. Shrimp was cooked beautifully and firm. The corn was cold but it was still good! Came with a side of onions and jalapenos. The flour tortillas were taco sized. Great shareable plate for 2-3 people. Had the virgin margarita and it was one of the best virgin drinks I've had. Not just a bunch of sugar and soda water like other mocktails. It had freshly made syrups and with chunks of cucumbers. So refreshing!

The sign said to wait to be seated, but my dad waited around for about 10 minutes without seeing anyone at the host stand. The bartender told him it was okay to go outside & find an available table, so we weren't trying to skip any rules...we were just following what we were told. When we finally spoke with the hostess, she explained she was trying to manage multiple tables, which was understandable, but the communication could have been a little clearer. Once we sat down, everything was great. The drinks were delicious, we enjoyed a quick snack with chips and guacamole, & the service was friendly & efficient. We didn't try the food, but it seems like a nice spot for a casual drink or quick bite. Overall, we had a good experience and would come back.

Would 100% come back. That said, I'd admit, a certain DTLA Michelin restaurant has set my expectations of south of border seafood cuisine a bit too high (starts with H) so I'll try to be reasonable. Also the items picked were surprisingly huge and i was too full to finish my meal. 9/10 The chips tasted delicious, bean dip was something new and delicious, salsa was fresh and bold, and the roasted pepper salsa was surprisingly not too spicy, really good. 8/10 trio de cheviche. Good assortment and size of the dish. Shrimp was ok, I felt it was missing something, octopus was good, my personal favorite was the marinaded tuna. 8/10 seafood chile relleno, not a bad assortment, sides were good, large portions of food. 10/10 Coco rita, this margarita is definitely something different! And pairs with everything amazingly, I love it, and this is coming from someone who normally hates coconut. 9/10 they brought out this chocolate cake I dont see on the menu but they will if it's your birthday, but in my case to celebrate my new engagement. Super moist. The place is really loud ambient wise when busy which was around 8pm which is normal of any popular place but after near closing around 9:30 is pretty quiet and casual on a Sunday. Total bill after a 21% tip ran me total $165 and I had leftovers. Free chips, 1 large giant appetizer, and 1 large entree could potentially feed 3 people if you don't eat a lot. If you don't wanna have leftovers, go easy on the chips but that's gonna be hard.

The flavor profile here is definitely a bit smokier/charred compared to the Taco Stand spots down south, especially compared to La Jolla. There are slight variations in how some of the food is cooked and prepared, but it's not bad at all -- just different. If you come in expecting an exact replica, you may notice the differences. If you treat this location as its own thing, it's honestly really solid. Huge shoutout to Carlos at the register for the excellent customer service. We ordered food both for here and to-go, and everything was packed separately exactly how we asked. We also made a few modifications after placing the order, and Carlos went out of his way to track down our ticket and write the changes on it himself to make sure everything came out correctly. Food was still great, service was amazing, and we'd definitely come back again.

At the La Jolla location you can see the staff making the tortillas + churros and this location the tortillas were packaged. I'm not sure if they use the same ingredients but this could have changed the flavor profile. They were still yummy don't get me wrong but they just weren't as good as I remember them. I ordered chips and guac as well and the staff forgot to include it in my order so I had to go up to the counter another time which was quite a hassle given it's a very busy restaurant with the line out the door the entire time I was there. The salsa selection is rather nice especially when most restaurants are trying to cut down on salsa options + use the lower quality ingredients. You can tell the ingredients in the salsas were high + they even have a few creamy options which is hard to see at most Mexican restaurants these days. I do think the guac was a little limey but it wasn't bad when you added it to the tacos. If you go I would recommend you go with zero expectations of eating inside as there are about 5-6 tables + waiting a long time for your food. The beach is 10 steps away so you can always take your food to the beach too!
