Adolfo's Mexican Food in Laguna is always great. The food is fresh, flavorful, and truly delicious. I especially loved the shredded beef taco and the albondigas soup--both were excellent. Put this on my list of - eat here everytime I come to town. First off - the staff was amazing. Big smiles and very friendly. The food was amazing. We got the bean and cheese chimichanga. It was not over fried (which most places do) and it was a treat. No way was I having leftovers. We also had the potatoe taco (mashed potatoes- first time I've experienced them mashed and it seems the only way it should be). Very good. We also got the veggie taco. Tasted like a fajita taco. What a fun and delicious place for Mexican food. I stopped by in the morning for a bacon, egg, cheese and potato breakfast burrito. I was not disappointed. First of all it was HUGE ! Lot's of bacon and cheese. The potatoes were cooked in such a way that they were just the right texture. I probably could have gone for a little less potato in the burrito but the taste was Great. Came to Laguna for the day to celebrate our 28 year anniversary. Get yummy Mexican food... so I thought from the Yelp reviews, ride the trolly to south Laguna and walk down to the beach. Boy were we disappointed with the food here! Yikes $77.00 for chips and guacamole, an order of two tiny tiny fish tacos with rice and beans and two cheese enchiladas with rice and beans, no drinks just water! Everything was bland and cold? Why cold? Weird! Red sauce on enchiladas was gross. And cheese barely melted. I didn't eat them. But got them to go for my husband to warm and try later. Which we ended up throwing them away because it wasn't worth it to carry disgusting left overs on our fun adventure. My husband said his tacos were ok. And he liked the rice even though his food was lukewarm. The only thing that was good was guacamole (truly how hard is that?)and the server was nice, plus sitting on the patio soaking up the sun. Nice location and theme of decor. But food terrible! Hopefully locals have great authentic Mexican food somewhere in Laguna to treasure. read more

In the morning, my friends and I spent the morning at Anita Street Beach, and this restaurant is across the street, so we got a great lunch and kept our parking spots. In the end, I just went with a simple Jarritos Mexican flavor pineapple drink, and I'm sure they have every flavor available, including fruit punch, which I rarely see. There's no way I can resist ordering two because they're so good! I ordered a two-taco combo which came with rice and beans, plus sour cream (excuse the American in me). I'll be honest, last time I went in to a hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurant, my gut wasn't too happy that evening. Let's just say, this is NOT the experience I had at Adolfo's - SOOOOO delish. My husband and I were driving through Laguna on an off-season Thursday evening on vacation and found Adolfo's for dinner. Parking was SUPER simple behind the restaurant, with a small lot, accommodating about 10 cars. We walked in and ordered chips and salsa and a California burrito (with shredded beef) to share. The chips are home-made on-site. The salsa was fine and good. The burrito was very good - will note that we love fries in our California burritos but this one had potato cubes. Still delish, just different. My husband loves tortas, so we went back for seconds with a chorizo torta and got the chips and cheese. The torta and chorizo were SUPER delicious! For $5 for chips and cheese at a mexican restaurant, I expected a cup of queso and chips (or queso drizzled on top) -- nope, it was just generic shredded bag cheese on top of some chips that were heated in the microwave. If you've ever had this cheese in the microwave, you know that it congeals solid once it's cooled down. This was not the experience we were looked for. I do not recommend the chips and cheese. They did have 4 microwaves available to run. So I'd recommend figuring out what doesn't need a microwave and order only that. They were not busy when we were there, our food came out within minutes of ordering. read more

Do yourself a huge favor and go to Rasta Taco. Incredibly disappointing and lackluster. 4 microwaves in their kitchen but not an oven in sight. I asked if their tacos are street style, guy taking my order said yes and used a hand gesture to show small tortilla size. I received American size tortilla shells with lettuce and cheese on top but no onion or cilantro. Potato taco is very literally plain mashed potato with lettuce and cheese, I took 1 bite and handed it back yet was never asked why I was handing back a nearly untouched plate. Red salsa tastes like spicy pasta sauce. Green salsa had a strange after taste. Burritos we ordered we not grilled so they fell apart, rice was super dry. You can get it wet style too. Their tacos,enchiladas, and carnitas are good as well. I also like their unsweetened black tea. The employees are very friendly. My recent visit two days ago, we called ahead some enchiladas, huevos rancheros, and breakfast burritos. They said it would be ready and 15 minutes and sure enough everything was packaged to go when we arrived. Everything tasted great and for about $70 we fed our family of 6 and had leftovers. The woman I believe the manager or owner was very sweet, but the food was unfortunately terrible. 4 microwaves were in the kitchen and they didn't prepare the food they just threw it on a plate and microwaved it. It had no flavor at all, it was extremely poor quality and unappetizing, and the cost for the food was unreasonable considering the quality. They also use the freshest vegetables of any mexican place Ive ever been too. We always get the carne asada fries and they have never disappointed! We were in the area, and the internet was choosing to barely work at all, so it was hard to find or pull up places we had thought about visiting. We do not live nearby and do not come down here often so we were unfamiliar with what was around. We were near a coffee shop and just about gave up and this place was very close to where we parked. I figured it would be tasty by the reviews and the outside pictures looked nice so we walked over. When we got here, the scenic outdoor area looked kind of dirty and sad. We opted to eat inside instead. It felt like a basic take out fast food place. We ordered and ordered it for here. It was brought out as to go, and everything felt rushed and like a quick get out even if the staff was nice. I did have a chicken quesadilla so I guess that is nothing to really review, but I didn't really enjoy it at all. Steven had the enchiladas and didn't enjoy them at all and did not finish his meal. Nothing stood out or tasted amazing. Looking at the other reviews, maybe we had an off day. I am just going by our experience, but maybe you would enjoy it here more than us. read more

We have been here 8 days in a row now! We're working up the corner from this place painting a house and have been here every day since we started for breakfast and lunch depending on the day. I'm not going to say like god dam best Mexican food I've ever had and have someone be like why would he write that in his review it's like a what ever. But let me put it this way the variety is plenty and the food is for sure bomb enough to be here 8 days in a row! No complaints At all what so ever. Staff is great the main dude at the counter is basically our buddy now. The owner hooked us up with a free pitcher on cinco de meyo. I was very impressed with Adolfo's today. The owner took my order at what once was the entrance of this small restaurant. The menu is mostly Mexican, but the also have some diner fare like burgers. There are close to a dozen people eating on the patio on bar level tables and lovely wooden stools. A gentleman walks out of the restaurant and hands me a bag of food it seems very heavy for what I've ordered. I get back home and find some exquisitely cooked Machaca. The proportions of eggs to meat to vegetables was perfectly balanced. The vegetables (onions and peppers) were clearly fresh and still had integrity. The eggs were light and fluffy. The beans, rice and jamaica were good. They provided salsa and pico de gallo, both good. I wish I had more, but I never get enough of either. I will certainly return. read more

Everything is packed to go right now because of the pandemic but there are a couple of seats right outside where you can enjoy your food. I got two crispy tacos - one asada and one pollo. I really enjoyed the pollo. It was really well marinated.
