We frequent Laguna Beach & we always catch the trolly infront of Adolfo's after eating across the street but this day I said let's try the Mexican restaurant! We did & it was pretty good! the workers were super friendly! It's family owned restaurant serving up traditional dishes! I had the Torte de carne asada which was pretty good with fries & a Mexican Coke! I liked the ambience of the restaurant with the colorful steel chairs outside that reminded me of my days in Mexicali I would come back when craving a Torta

Friendly service, lots of variety on menu, & they were open early. Jamaica was delicious, not too sweet. My enchilada & taco combo was simply okay. The beans were very good on the plate. My husband said his torta was okay as well. I'm all for supporting small family business so I'd return when in the area again & order something else.

What a fun and delicious place for Mexican food. I stopped by in the morning for a bacon, egg, cheese and potato breakfast burrito. I was not disappointed. First of all it was HUGE ! Lot's of bacon and cheese. The potatoes were cooked in such a way that they were just the right texture. I probably could have gone for a little less potato in the burrito but the taste was Great. They have a lot of other options which I haven't gotten a chance to try yet. Since it's located in downtown Laguna Beach, I will definitely get back to try a few other things. The people and the service was Outstanding !

GO HERE IT GIVES HOLES IN THE WALL IN THE BEST DAMN WAY!!! An awesome beach day was rounded out by this place! In the morning, my friends and I spent the morning at Anita Street Beach, and this restaurant is across the street, so we got a great lunch and kept our parking spots. In the end, I just went with a simple Jarritos Mexican flavor pineapple drink, and I'm sure they have every flavor available, including fruit punch, which I rarely see. There's no way I can resist ordering two because they're so good! I ordered a two-taco combo which came with rice and beans, plus sour cream (excuse the American in me). As a stopover lunch stop after a beach day, we were very happy with the service. It was fast and efficient.

I'll be honest, last time I went in to a hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurant, my gut wasn't too happy that evening. Let's just say, this is NOT the experience I had at Adolfo's - SOOOOO delish. My husband and I were driving through Laguna on an off-season Thursday evening on vacation and found Adolfo's for dinner. Parking was SUPER simple behind the restaurant, with a small lot, accommodating about 10 cars. We walked in and ordered chips and salsa and a California burrito (with shredded beef) to share. The chips are home-made on-site. The salsa was fine and good. The burrito was very good - will note that we love fries in our California burritos but this one had potato cubes. Still delish, just different. My husband loves tortas, so we went back for seconds with a chorizo torta and got the chips and cheese. The torta and chorizo were SUPER delicious! For $5 for chips and cheese at a mexican restaurant, I expected a cup of queso and chips (or queso drizzled on top) -- nope, it was just generic shredded bag cheese on top of some chips that were heated in the microwave. If you've ever had this cheese in the microwave, you know that it congeals solid once it's cooled down. This was not the experience we were looked for. I do not recommend the chips and cheese. They did have 4 microwaves available to run. So I'd recommend figuring out what doesn't need a microwave and order only that. They were not busy when we were there, our food came out within minutes of ordering.

This place is a great local food establishment if you want some real authentic chips and salsa with a nice patio dining area for you to enjoy the delicious food that is prepared fresh there in the restaurant and catch the local Pacific coast highway people driving by to see your amazing California burrito that I recommend you try ! The counter service was on point and the server recommended a few things that he liked as well as what we ordered for the recommendations

Adolfos is home away from home. Amongst the overpriced "new american" restaurants and awful gimmicky chains this is the only place in town i really go out to eat at anymore. Food is always good and the beers are always cold. Im here at least once a week to talk with other regulars and enjoy this hole in the wall that is truly the last of its kind in laguna. Best chorizo burrito in the world! Pairs great with a modelo.

One arrived with mushrooms and avocado; the other had mushrooms only. And somehow, neither one had the grilled onions. ‍ Then came the real test: we ordered a pescado burrito, but asked them to hold the meat (meaning the fish), hold the cheese, and add beans. Three simple requests. Can you guess how many were actually fulfilled? If you guessed one, congratulations--you understand the assignment. The kicker? The cashier entered our requests correctly on the receipt. So somewhere between the cashier and the kitchen, our modifications apparently took a wrong turn. If you have dietary restrictions or food allergies, I'd definitely double-check your order before digging in. You may want to verify it twice--or, at this rate, come back in a year when they've had time to work out the kinks. A few other things: * The grooved metal menu makes it surprisingly difficult to read. * The line was long but moved quickly. * Once ordered, the food took about 30-45 minutes. * The small patio's trash can was overflowing, which didn't exactly add to the dining experience. I really wanted to love this place, but when three modifications turn into a game of "Which One Did They Get Right?", it's hard to give a glowing review. Taco Stand, we need to tac-o-bout-it.

I ordered for my takeout the La Calle Taco Kit ($80), which included 2 pounds of meat (half steak, half chicken), cheese, black beans, pico de gallo, guacamole, salsa, onions, rice, 2 dozen tortillas, and limes. Bangers all around. The chicken was superbly spiced and tender, the beans soft and well spiced, the tortillas hot and fresh. Of the lineup, the strongest contender was the guacamole, which had the perfect mix of cilantro, lime, and creamy avocado, one of the best guacamoles I've ever had. I found the steak a little weak, being more beef shavings which were a little tough. Everything came together well to feed our group of five with plenty for leftovers the following day. Service was friendly and very, very fast. When calling in our order I was quoted 12 minutes. For such a large order during the dinner rush, this is commendable. Service was effusive and friendly, tailoring the order to our liking (half and half meat, half and half tortillas, the mildest of mild salsas, etc). Price, above, was very reasonable for the quantity of food in an expensive area. I went in with modest expectations but left quite impressed. Te felicito, Chelas! We had a 7:00 reservation for my birthday, called ahead to say we'd be about 20 minutes late, and were told there was a 15-minute grace period. We arrived around 7:20-7:25 and were turned away. I understand policies, but this was a Tuesday night, and the attitude was awful.. no warmth, no effort to help, and zero acknowledgment that we had called ahead or that it was my birthday. Simply put, nasty. My wife rebooked us for 8:00, so we waited at the bar. At dinner, we ordered margaritas and they were genuinely terrible. Not just "not our taste," but shockingly bad for a restaurant that has always been known for its margaritas. We sent them back and asked for beers instead. That's where the service really lost us. Our waitress didn't ask what was wrong, didn't apologize, didn't seem concerned, and made absolutely no effort to fix the experience. She just dropped the Modelos on the table with an attitude that basically said, "Fine, you're a nuisance, here's your beer." The food itself was great, but the service and overall hospitality were genuinely terrible. They also completely forgot the birthday despite it being noted on the reservation. I normally tip 25-30%, but tonight I left 15% and wrote, "Thanks for forgetting my birthday" on the check. That pretty much summed it up.
