    Steak Asada Bowl

This place was very clean and trendy. The workers were very kind and helpful when ordering. You do order them seat yourself which is nice. My wife and I came to eat here for lunch around 3 pm on a Thursday and there was a lot of sun inside the restaurant..I ordered the Asada bowl which was pretty good and my wife ordered a burrito (plain). We waited a while to get a refill which was unfortunate but once we flagged down a waitress we received good service. I would eat here again.

If you're looking for a classic spread of Mexican dishes paired with an intimate atmosphere, Asada Tacos + Beer is right up your alley. As you walk up, Asada gives the vibe of a true Laguna restaurant: classy, yet practical. There's a To-Go window in front along with indoor and outdoor seating. While Asada strives to be high end in ambiance, their service does not fully match that vibe. It was a half-service restaurant, which is not reflected in the prices. Additionally, food was good, not great, mostly due to the price. The chips and guacamole were overpriced and pretty bland. The chile relleno burrito was great yet had a lot of lettuce. What this place does great though is its tacos. Definitely worth another trip to pick up some steak tacos. Overall, was a great time! If you're looking for a new place to try or in the mood for Mexican, Asada is the place to go.

#10 Tres Amigos (Pick Any 3) and Birria Tacos

This is one of the best Mexican restaurant we've been to. Not only do they have great service, but their food is so deliciously good. They're located right across from Laguna Beach in front of the Pavilions plaza and next to a pizza restaurant. We ordered the birria tacos plate and the tres amigos plate which comes with short ribs tacos, mahi mahi tacos, and steak enchilada. The birria tacos and mahi mahi tacos were the best. Both had great flavors and the proteins were very fresh and delectable. Definitely coming back for their other menu items like the breakfast and drinks. There's outdoor and indoor seating. You can order as take-out or dine-in. It's a kinda small place, but great location since it's so close to the beach. There's only one unisex restroom and you need a key code to go in.

    SALSA RANCHERO w/STEAK $16.95

Good food at a fair price but that's where it ends. You order at the window or counter which as confusing as people were doing both which I'm not a fan of but understand the advantages for the restaurant staff. The team was friendly. Expensive house margaritas for the size. The Enchilada Salsa Ranchero with steak @ $16.95 was delicious and a a large portion. I would order again. Good fajita steak in a very mild ranchero sauce. Not as rich with a kick of spice where you can taste the chili powders but good. The cilantro roce and black beans were a good pairing for an overall delicious choice. Limited parking so you'll want to walk if you can. It's Laguna Beach so you'll want to walk everywhere due to limited parking. The inside is small and there's a lack of ambiance. It felt like I was at an upscale food court restaurant. There is a small patio so you take in the fresh air and watch the world drive by. I will revisit for the food but only if I can walk or double park to pick up to go and skip the overpriced cocktails.

The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating. You order at the front then find a seat and they'll bring the food. I tried one short rib crispy taco and a steak soft taco. Our table also ordered corn, spicy tator tots and maragaritas (lavendar was one and hibiscus another). With our tacos we asked for salsa. It came out hot, not spicy but temperarure hot like fresh. Never had that before and it was delicious along with everything else we ordered. Drinks and food all really great. Staff was friendly. Gave great food recs.

Was driving down PCH hungry and found this place close by. I am so happy I stopped! The food was delicious, I got the two carne asada tacos plate. The meat was tender and overall the the dish with the rice and beans was super flavorful! Service was quick and staff was super friendly. Will be back and definitely recommend!

Their birria tacos are the best! Its perfect after a good surf session the portions are so fulfilling. Sitting is available inside or outside.

    Cory N.

What a great Yelp find last minute while driving down the PCH. The habanero hot sauce has a kick, so be liberal with application. The tacos are big, they are not street taco size. My short rib tacos only had one tortilla and fell apart, I think this was a mistake because my fish tacos had two tortillas each and stayed intact. At least they had forks and friendly service to get us the fork quickly. Definitely worth a stop if you're driving down from LA to San Diego.

    Spicy Tots
    Lynn N.

The crispy potato jalapeño tacos were good. They were packed to the brim and the flavors were good. The hard shell tortilla was a bit on the thicker side so it was more of a crunchy than crispy experience. The tater tots were seasoned with a spice blend and along with their dipping sauce it was a good shareable item. The sweet corn tamale with butter was a great treat to end the meal. We came a bit earlier than the typical dinner time and they weren't busy. The have a lot of tables and chairs inside and one in their front patio too. They are located in a grocery store shopping center so there was a lot of parking, which is a commodity for the area!

    A lovely patio.
    Sharon G.

We've had at least three delicious meals here and the last one on a perfectly breezy and sunny day on the patio. There isn't much better than eating fresh carne asada tacos with the house warm, green salsa and a margarita on PCH on a perfect day.

A quick tip before you go: parking is either available on the street (if you're lucky enough to find a spot) or through valet for $15. The restaurant is located inside the hotel, and once you enter you'll take the elevator down to Level 1, where you'll be greeted with beautiful ocean views. We had a reservation and were seated very quickly. While we waited for our table to be cleared, Ava, our host, was so sweet and personable. She took the time to chat with us, shared some of her favorite menu recommendations, and when she noticed us unsuccessfully trying to take a selfie overlooking the water, she kindly offered to take a photo for us. It was such a thoughtful gesture that immediately made us feel welcome. Throughout dinner, Jesse was assisting our table, and he was fantastic. He always seemed to appear at just the right time without ever feeling intrusive. He was friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful throughout the evening. Our main server, Carson, was equally amazing. He was welcoming from the moment we sat down, incredibly attentive, and you could tell he genuinely cared about providing a great dining experience. His recommendations were spot on, he checked in on us regularly, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever rushing us. The food was excellent. I absolutely loved the burrata salad, and my husband ordered the lobster bisque. At first, he thought the portion might be on the smaller side, but between the bisque and the bread, he ended up completely satisfied. Speaking of the bread--don't skip it! The butter, made with grass-fed cream, was absolutely incredible and made the appetizer even more memorable. Overall, Splashes exceeded our expectations. From the warm hospitality to the attentive service and delicious food, every part of the experience was exceptional. It truly deserves all of its five-star reviews. A huge thank you to Carson, Jesse, and Ava for making our evening so memorable. No notes, just a fantastic dining experience. We'll definitely be back!

We got seated at our table at our table around 4:30p and had the most perfect view of the ocean! *we went on a Friday night and noticed the patio cleared out about 4:45-5pm and I didn't appear to have a lot of people waiting during that time. The main patio was covered with umbrellas, so once you are seated for dinner, there was plenty of umbrellas for shade and heaters for when it got a little cooler. For our food orders, and as recommended by our server, we went with their seafood options and ordered their Pacific Ceviche for an appetizer and for Entrees my husband got the Roasted Halibut and me and my mother-in-law both got the Scallop and Shrimp pasta. We all loved our dishes and were very satisfied with our choices. Their menu does have non-seafood options, but why not to try what they're most prominent for? They don't have a dessert menu, but they heard that we were celebrating mom's birthday so they brought us a little Toffee Cake to share and enjoy...and for a place that doesn't have dessert, the cake was pretty delicious. Such a cute place all around. My husband and I can't wait to go back! I ordered the scallop and shrimp pasta, and on my very first bite of the scallop, it had a strong ammonia taste--a common sign that seafood has gone bad. After that, I completely lost my appetite and couldn't eat the rest of my meal. My daughter ordered the cioppino, and after checking the seafood in her dish, we noticed the scallop was also very rubbery and didn't seem fresh either. Fresh seafood is something restaurants should never compromise on. Based on this experience, I can't recommend eating here and would suggest trying another restaurant instead.

The owner served us initially, and he was really friendly and funny. We ordered a bottle of wine, and some cocktails. We put in some salads and an appetizer, they were really really good. But after that, our server (the owner we were told) left, and another server introduced himself. The new server was inattentive. He sat chatting with the other servers at the bar, leaving empty glasses and empty plates on the table. We had to flag him to come back to fill water. Having been myself in the service industry for years, my biggest pet peeve is when servers sit and chat where you can see them, and when they do come, they don't do a sweep and take care of things on the table. We had to put our empty glasses and trash on a side table. It was weird. The bolognese had hardly any meat in it. It was mostly tomato and onion. I've been to Argentina. Meat is a staple. Also weird. We ordered dessert and after waiting for 5-10 minutes, the server came back and told us they were missing crucial ingredients to make it. The owner came back at the end and was really gracious, but all in all, I think the execution was lacking. The service was not great. The food was 3.5/5 I love to support small business, perhaps we will try again another night.

Would 100% come back. That said, I'd admit, a certain DTLA Michelin restaurant has set my expectations of south of border seafood cuisine a bit too high (starts with H) so I'll try to be reasonable. Also the items picked were surprisingly huge and i was too full to finish my meal. 9/10 The chips tasted delicious, bean dip was something new and delicious, salsa was fresh and bold, and the roasted pepper salsa was surprisingly not too spicy, really good. 8/10 trio de cheviche. Good assortment and size of the dish. Shrimp was ok, I felt it was missing something, octopus was good, my personal favorite was the marinaded tuna. 8/10 seafood chile relleno, not a bad assortment, sides were good, large portions of food. 10/10 Coco rita, this margarita is definitely something different! And pairs with everything amazingly, I love it, and this is coming from someone who normally hates coconut. 9/10 they brought out this chocolate cake I dont see on the menu but they will if it's your birthday, but in my case to celebrate my new engagement. It's Laguna so parking can be difficult but it's possible to find metered parking on the nearby cross streets if you don't mind walking a little. We opted to use their valet parking but it's $6 per hour. The restaurant is surrounded by cute shops and there's an area where they have live music on certain nights. There are a decent amount of tables outside with umbrellas for shade. If you come for happy hour on a weekday, it's only available in the upper area by the bar. We came on a Tuesday for happy hour (3- 6pm), so cocktails were $2 off and starters were half priced. They don't have that many cocktails to choose from, so I just got their red Seasonal Sangria ($16). It didn't come in a wine glass which was a little odd but it was fine. We shared their Shrimp Ceviche ($23) and Bruschetta ($19). The ceviche was okay but the bruschetta was excellent. They also had taco specials (I assume because it was Tuesday) so they were $4- 5 à la carte. I tried the Mahi Mahi and Shrimp tacos and surprisingly really liked them. The Mahi Mahi tasted fresh and so did the corn tortillas. I would definitely come back for Taco Tuesday and anytime I'm looking to dine with an ocean view.
